This is a boss she served years back, even during uni he kept calling and always wanting to have her, during and after NYSC he kept calling her for him to have a bite, same boss she was pregnant for and aborted for him, though she hanged it on her boyfriend as of that time and the guy didn't know . She never told me all these her self, but I won't like to share here how I got to know.

The same man she has been avoiding for years, that she doesn't want to go back to sin or her past life, but just yesterday she even took excuse sneaked out of office and went to see him and accepted the offer, then came back home called me to tell me this and that and before I could talk she said she has accepted it, was shocked and trying to reason why she did that, she asked me if there was anything wrong in her decision, she began to yell at me on phone, as usual I kept mute and ended the call. Please would I be wrong if at this point I take a bow and leave now?

Please help me push it to the front page. She is a Nairalander too, she sees nothing wrong in the wrong things she does. Let the world hear my story and correct me if am wrong on taking the decision.

I don't think it is about being equals, its about the fact that the family law favors the women in those societies and you can be the best man to a woman and she still decides she wants a divorce, putting your life in jeopardy.

I have peeps over there, and they're doing just fine.

Most of the men in this scenario are not necessarily domineering but there a number of reasons why these things happen.
1. Most of those marriages start on a wrong footing as the women usually don't love their men and only see them as a get out of jail card to be used for the betterment of her life and that of her siblings.

2. When the ladies get over their they take the advantage of family law but don't accept the financial behavior. By that I mean the 'my money is my money but your money is our money mentality'. Usually when she first arrives and barely earns the man carries the family and her education from his earning as family income but immediately she starts earning well she sees her income as hers alone and no longer make decisions as a family because she wants to use it to lift her family back home knowing fully well she has all the cards.
In those environments earnings from both spouse are treated as 'household income' even attracting some tax privileges but when these women with preconceived parental family betterment plan (that don't love but only tolerate their husband's from the beginning) get these cultural shock they revolt because they are not raised in that culture and now they have all the advantage.
So they begin to ask why should I not have 100% say over the money I bring? But they forget that they have had joint say over the money he was bringing in all along. They now see the man as a treat because he would ask questions about some of her expenses towards her parents family when they have immediate family plans.
Also he is no longer of use to her and she is not emotionally invested in him.

Don't forget they do this to their foreign husband's as well, if Nigerian husband's were domineering and bad as you paint them how come non Nigerian men also get this treatment?

Let me paint this scenario for you. She grew up abandoned by her father as a child and the mother raised she a d her siblings single handedly. Sacrificed every comfort to make sure they all succed. She remembered how her mother would come pick them up as kids and they would trek long distances to get home, come rain or shine. Her father had the means but chose to abaondon them for her mother to suffer and raise them alone. As a child she pledged to herself to make sure her mother enjoys all the privileges she sacrificed to raise them. . . .

So tell me, if you were here, who would get the car, your mother or your husband? Bear in mind that the mother is advancing in age and may not live for much longer. Won't it be wise to take every opportunity to make her happy before life snatches her away?

Marriage doesn't mean you lose yourself or neglect your family.

That section you quoted and the interpretation you gave are completely out of context. That section said nothing about 14 years even section 362 that mentioned sixteen years only did that with reference to the crime of abduction, my point is that a minor cannot give consent and a minor is someone under 18, i would like to see that part of Nigerian law (passed by senate and assented by the president) that gives a different definition of the age of a minor.
