Business / Re: Manufacturers Wail As Unsold Goods Pile Up In Warehouses by RhinoChest: 9:13am On May 20 |
Why wail when you can reduce your prices? That’s what businesses do to minimise losses. Flood your goods across Nigeria at reduced prices, and offer relief to Nigerians. If the current prices manufacturers are charging are the true prices, goods won’t pile up. |

rertylentl: Why do you always have to abuse? Nigeria isn’t producing enough at the moment to give to local refineries. The current quantity is our major source of foreign exchange earnings. If we start producing upwards of 2.2/2.5, which we are capable of, there would be enough for all local refineries to buy. |

We need to improve our natural grass technology for football pitches across the country. Artificial turf or 3D pitches causes a lot of injuries. The science of natural grass for sports can be big business for some, and we should encourage it. 10 Likes 1 Share |

If there is insecurity, how can other issues like health and agriculture be addressed Mr Lamido? If we eradicate the conflict between herders and farmers, we boost agricultural output in no time. Farmers can send their kids to schools and get better healthcare treatment with income derived selling their produce. |

Politics / Re: US Report: Despite Irregularities, 2023 Poll Reflected Will Of Nigerians by RhinoChest: 9:20pm On Apr 25 |
This should hopefully put to bed the fact that Tinubu stole the election and Obi was the winner. All Nigerians should unite and let this administration succeed. We should also hold it accountable when necessary. No more stolen mandate, bla bla. There were irregularities but Tinubu’s victory reflected the will of Nigeria. Just because you didn’t vote for him doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his supporters. They just not internet warriors. |

Yahaya Bello will go jail! It’s not often EFCC heads come to give press conference unless it’s a passionate or worrying issue! He should have wisely honoured the invitation rather make a nuisance out of it. If EFCC don’t arrest him, they would be seen as weak, and they would rather cease to exist than look weak. Ex gov is in trouble. 1 Like 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Electricity: FG Targets 6000 Megawatts By End Of 2024 by RhinoChest: 4:30pm On Apr 23 |
The smaller Discos that will replace them minister, are they competent with proven track record? Also minister, are you gonna tell Nigerians when all debt are paid to gasCos and Gencos? Once debt is paid, does that mean no more excuses on the generation side? 6000 MW is small when we have a capacity to generate 13,000 MW. You already said TCN has capacity to evacuate more than 6000 MW, so a realistic ambition before end of 2024 should be 8000-10000 MW. 1 Like |

As someone said, if you finish secondary school before 18, learn handiwork skills. If you go university and graduate, you have handiwork skills with a degree. It’s a good combination to possess. I would suggest the federal gov mandate technical skills for all students after secondary school. All students after secondary learn any technical skills of their choice from automotive engine repair, computer and phones repair, plumbing, advanced welding, carpentry, textile design, solar power technology, drones design and repair, aeroplane technician, leather tanning, to even agric. After 12-18 months of technical school, you can then go to university. We need to replicate what the Germans do. Let’s turn Nigeria to a manufacturing hub. We can replace China. All goods that are too expensive to manufacture in the west, we manufacture it and start to export. We need to prep our youths with the right skills. 6 Likes 1 Share |

AndroBlaze: Won’t be an overkill. Inflation rate is too high, thus, affecting depreciation of Naira. Businesses that need liquidity would be forced to lower prices of their goods or services. If businesses have favourable loan rate, they won’t be incentivised to reduce prices, keeping inflation high or sticky. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: FG To Sanction Discos Supplying Below 20 Hours To Band A – Adelabu by RhinoChest: 5:43pm On Apr 11 |
There are various power distribution companies across the world with proven track record that would be willing to take over some of the Discos in Nigeria. There is liquidity due to hike in prices, so it should be attractive to competent foreign companies. Minister should look to attracting foreign companies to take over. It’s madness to blame technical glitches for delivering 20 hours of power. Don’t sanction them, just get rid of them if they keep failing and give the licences to foreign Discos. 1 Like |

So shameful it has to come to this level! Feels like some people can’t be responsible adults anymore. Parents are failing kids by raising them poorly, and making them spend so much time on social media and screens. You find socially deficient young adults that can’t positively relate with opposite sex. You also find some cultures that deliberately separate sexes, and when these cultures come to the west, they find it hard to assimilate. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: This New Tariff Must Not Stand! - Simon Musa by RhinoChest: 11:13am On Apr 06 |
The reason subsidy has to go is because government care about poor people. Rich people already have alternatives and they get the bulk of the meagre electricity already being generated. Rich people already have generators. Once production goes up, you pretty much want many Nigerians in band A because you want as many customers to sell to. Only way to help poor on minimum wage in the long run is increase power output by inducing competition in the sector. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: This New Tariff Must Not Stand! - Simon Musa by RhinoChest: 11:02am On Apr 06 |
Subsidy has to go for power to improve. Once the market has injection of cash, more players will come in, more competition and cheaper prices for all in the long run. Transcorp energy just floated their stocks, they account for a combined 1200 MW approx. They are anticipating cash injection, and that would lead to more turbines purchased, more expansion. Egbin power plant just announced that they about to add wind turbines to their plant, thus even increasing power output. Mr Musa, what all new investment will do is make Gencos ramp up power production at sustained rate. Bills from Discos will reflect market cost, and new players will enter, bringing prices down for all in the near future. Banks will also start lending to Gencos and Discos because they are now confident the market has been reformed for power operators to pay back. More investment also means more job opportunities for youths, because power companies will need more technicians, engineers, etc. 1 Like 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Don’t Worry About Inflation, We’ll Bring It Down, Tinubu Tells Nigerians (video) by RhinoChest: 5:55pm On Apr 04 |
He looks determined to succeed. It’s true that he is looking for ways to boost our revenue. The military is up on the heels of crude oil thieves, daily production is gradually going up, FIRs is standardising and increasing taxation, subsidy ( money gulper) is being phased out. All these are in place to boost revenue. Infrastructure that will lead us out of poverty won’t come cheap! We need rail tracks, bigger airports, new dams, etc.. They cost huge sums. Eng Umahi did say Nigeria would need roughly upwards of over $20 billion to build new roads across the country. That figure can be realised if we boost revenue. You don’t have to support him but should admit that he is doing the right thing and on the right track. My only problem is that he needs a good communicator to enlighten Nigerians about these plans. Soon, they will pay off! 1 Like 1 Share |

This is a game changer if properly implemented. Universities across the country will benefit and they are incentivise to improve their infrastructure. I would give special rates to medical students; All medical courses from dentistry to pharmacy, microbiology, etc. I would also give special loan rates to courses in science and tech. 1% of annual FIRs revenue is quite small. I would prefer 3%. This is commendable and we should praise good work just as we too often to criticise bad work. God bless this administration and continue to give them energy and motivation to succeed! |

Politics / Re: FEC Approves Renewed Hope Infrastructure Fund For Critical Projects Nationwide by RhinoChest: 9:00pm On Mar 25 |
Welcome initiative because world class infrastructures aren’t cheap and are needed to lift Nigerians out of poverty. Critical infrastructures the government should consider are as follows; 1) if our generating capacity is 12,000 Megawatt, Mambilla Dam coming on stream with a capacity of 6000 to 10,000 MW is a game changer. It’s a renewable source and environmentally efficient. It will push us to 25,000 MW of generation. With Solar and wind, we could aim for 30,000 MW. 2) Rail. What’s happening to Lagos to Calabar rail? We need to pump money into rail infrastructures to move people and freights. It’s, safe, fast and efficient. There would be less pressure on our federal roads and would require minimal cost to maintain them. 3) Airports and seaports. If we are serious about strengthening the naira, we need to modernise our seaports for exports. 4) Storage facilities for agricultural produce. Cold storage esp. We need them built across all states and closer to farms. This is a game changer because farmers can plan output, and prices of food will be less volatile. I can grow my pineapples, go to USA, come back during harvest, harvest, store my products, and determine which consignment goes to market. If farmers overproduce, no problem, they can be stored and exported. The storage facilities should be massive and linked to rail and roads for easy access to market and export. If cost of diesel goes up, no problem because some can be moved to markets or ports by rail. 5) Security.. I applaud the government on the ongoing recruitment exercise. We need more personnel. We also need to train them to higher standards than we used to. We should review current training methods and see how we can upgrade them to world standards. All our armed forces should have elite forces that our foreign partners can train in country or out of country. We need at least 2000 elite forces in the army, navy, airforce and police each. They would be tasked with high risk situations like hostage rescue, terrorism, fetch out cop/soldier killers, etc. 6) Forensics. World class forensics lab to extract DNA, track criminals and for toxicology reports. Fund university with the necessary infrastructure needed to train student. No need sending evidence to foreign labs for result when we can have our own in-house results. 7) Prisons. They need to big, modern and fit for purpose. The gov would actually make the jobs of police easier because they will arrest, and charge people to court quickly. They won’t be inundated with unnecessary distractions. Police cell houses will be free and less crowded. Also, mental institutions for people deemed unfit for trials should be built where they are treated and looked after by qualified staff. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Prepare To Receive, Distribute 6,100MW Of Electricity In 6 Months, FG To Discos by RhinoChest: 6:36pm On Mar 24 |
6,100 megawatt is very much doable because total generating capacity is 12,000 megawatt. The gov should pay all outstanding debts owned to GenCos and remove subsidy for good, so that the market thrive without inhibition. They should strengthen TCN with robust infrastructures and privatise it. Afterwards, government’s job will just be a regulatory body to ensure power is constant and billings are reflective. The minister’s goal should be 12,000 MW in the next 18 months and by 2027, President Tinubu should campaign with 25,000 MW. Even if fuel subsidy is taken off completely, no one would mind because electricity is constant. Constant uninterrupted electricity is the ultimate palliative, and not bag of rice! You banish poverty and make your citizens productive. Also, while transmission infrastructures are being installed, minister should ensure there is a special task force to guard the infrastructures. Vandals should be swiftly apprehended and punished. Install sensors, CCTV etc to remote places. Also where possible, some of the cables should go underneath if cost effective. 2 Likes |

Good news! The NFF should replace him with someone with good attacking philosophy; Free flowing football, pace, passing combination and dynamism. Preferably someone from the Spanish, Dutch or even the German league. Jürgen Klinsmann Is out of work, Hansi Flick is a very good shout.
