I have collated a few items that worked for me here:

http://alphahandmaiden..co.uk/?m=1

You may find it helpful. I try to update every now and again with some meal ideas and combos that i have tried. Lemme know if you have any questions.

If she rejects the bottle and is already 5 months. Abeg Just start solids and introduce fluids with a cup. When she gets older and can hold a stuff you can then give her a sippy cup and she is likely to accept it as she will be aware that she has some independence with that.

The tongue actions of eating solids and drinking even if both are fed with a spoon are quite different, but be patient, keep at it, you will notice a change after some time..... you will reduce from washing all her clothes after every meal to wiping only face....

It will take some time for her to get used to the different textures and what i find is that in the early days of weaning, the creamier the texture the easier they will take it. If it is too thick or dry, they will spit it back at you.

Her weight is a very healthy weight, gaining up to 1kg a month in the first 6 months is quite normal and very good for a breast fed baby. Dont worry by the time she starts crawling and walking, she will either loose some of it or remain constant as she is more mobile and using more energy.
thank you for this

what i have come to realise is nobody taught us financial intelligence, except for a lucky few and that is why we are always confused and also make wrong decisions when it comes to money.

Thank God for a place like nairaland and people like Arese and Nimi who have taken it upon themselves to teach people how to manage their finances no matter how much you earn.

if you have any questions mention me and I will respond
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Rhukie(f):
I am sorry I came late for the party. As regards investment for our children, different things must be considered and we should try as much as possible to diversify.

Have a savings account, an insurance policy, bonds, treasury Bill and mutual fund. All are very easy but information is very important.

I learnt about treasury bills, bonds and mutual fund on nairaland. As for savings account different banks with different policy. My son has an account with first bank and the requirements is pretty straightforward.

There are different kinds of insurance policy one can take up and depending on what the company offers. Why I prefer an insurance policy to a savings account is because it has a life cover for dependent /next of kin and the process for damage to be paid is quite easy and also the money can't be withdrawn till maturity except you want to end the policy.

I will be using African Alliance children education plan (it doesn't have to be used for their education) the minimum you can start with is #6,000. Let me quote a post I made on it sometimes back
Rhukie:
my analysis will be based on African Alliance Children Education Policy. Unlike banks saving which you can withdraw from at anytime, you can't withdraw from the insurance policy account because it is meant to save towards secondary or tertiary education. Also it provides regular income for the dependent in case of permanent disability or death (which no one prepares for but life xan happen to anyone.)

You can have a policy of between 10-25 year range but not less than that. An a bonus of 3% per annum will be paid on the sum assured unlike the banks where the interest is based on what is saved. That means if you intend to save 6,000,000 in period of 10yrs you'll be getting 180,000 annually for the 10yrs as bonus.

if death or total disability occurs (God Forbid) before maturity lets assume maturity is 10yrs, the family will be paid 2% of the sum assured monthly till the maturity date of the policy. and all outstanding premium to maturity date will be paid by the company.

Also, the policy can be transferred to another named child and you can withdraw if you are not satisfied but you must have paid 2yrs complete premium.

For all the babies who died before birth.
For all the babies who died after birth.
For those coping with still birth.
For those saying goodbye prayer for their babies.
For those coping with funerals for babies.
For the ones that registered the birth and death of their babies at same time.
For the ones that  longed to see those tiny feet and fingers.
For those that scraped the unfinished lives.
For those that had frozen babies.
For the babies we kissed and didn't get to take home.
For the babies we took home and didn't get to kiss the next morning.
For the babies we bought pink and blue for but didn't get to wear them.
For the babies we planned future for and we had to bury them with our own hands.....
We pray for the families grieving the loss of a child,
Ya Allah, bring comfort and peace to them.
Ya Allah forgive them when they complain,
Forgive them in their confusion,
Forgive them in their anger,
Forgive them for what they do not understand.
Ya Allah, we ask that you bring them together and lead them to the way forward.
Grant them ease. Grant them what is far better than what was lost.
Ya Allah, You alone understand their broken hearts,
Their despair,
Their heartaches,
Their loneliness,
Ya Allah, make them still praise You and build mansions for them in the highest point in Jannah.
Grant them that special reward in this dunya and in the Akhira.
Ya Allah grant them patience and hopes for rewards.
Save them from Hell Fire.

We pray for the families grieving the loss of a child,
We ask Allah to bless you with patience in the face of your loss, and compensate you with khair that is far better.
Ameen.
