Food / Cakes Keep Spoiling Despite Preservative by rhymeup(m): 12:08pm On Jun 15, 2017
Hello All,
Need some helpful advise.

I sell baked muffins through retail shops and so far the response has been quite good.
The cakes typically used to last for about a week and a half. This was not so much of a problem since the rate of sales ensured that the cakes were eaten before expiration.
The challenge now is that i am trying to expand the business but need to ensure longevity on shelf.
I still have some instances where the cakes spoil earlier than expected.
This is not good for business as i can manage in a small location .i.e. my area, expansion means the product goes farther than i can imagine.
Need help finding the right way to preserve the cake. Any advice or better yet, can you lead me to someone who has solved this problem.
SME R&D challenge.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

the black race in general baffles me. Someone writes utter bunkum based on his own personal experience which by the way cannot be verified by any of us and we jump on the bandwagon. No race of people will castigate their kind faster than the black man. Nigeria been the most populous black race typifies this example.
Fela got it right, suffer don dabaru our head. Stereotyping a whole country despite the significant contribution of its people.
If na to defend Jollof Rice we go to war with Ghana.
One guy from God knows where decides we are all thieves and people decide that you didnt even insult else well. Forgetting that even those agreeing are part of the insulted.
America bombs countries, throws nations in chaos to further their goals and has one of the highest murder rates, crime rates, drug use but guess what Americans will still shout God bless America.
The atrocities the Europeans formented in Africa is well documented but i guess we have short memories.
God bless Nigeria. The greatest country on God's green earth. Hate us or Love us, we are known for the Good, the bad and the ugly. Deal with it.

Nafdac is really not an organization to be taken serious. Please who knows how the chocolate Royal scandal ended? Chocolate Royal resumed operations less than three weeks after it was shutdown with all the evidence before our eyes. Naija is joke.

This is the issue i have with Nigerians, we have such a short term memory. Thanks man. i looked through this whole story to see if anyone was going to make a connection to the Chocolate Royale story. People wake up. The media is meant to be analysed and not swallowed whole. The chocolate royale scandal was such a big deal and was splashed in media and we all all jumped up and down to condemn the company.

Move forward a few weeks and the place is been reopened and noone is asking what happened. Did NAFDAC really find anything? was a fine given and consumer protection guaranteed.

There release news on a new one and we automatically begin to bicker about tribes. Haba, Craziness.

Please explain how this is hypocrisy? Porn is in your face. It doesn't hide under any banner. It is what it is. It is strictly for adults. This on the other hand is a movie that could be described by some as art. Its the one that greys (no pun intended) out the line.
I haven't watched it but i have seen movies like Secretary, Crash, 9 1/2 weeks and i do know what to expect so knowing your kids are going to watch it and warning them ahead of time is not hypocrisy.
oluafolabi:
Nigerians and their never ending hypocrisy. The movie is rated 18+ meaning it's not meant for children. You probably saw the trailer and yet still went ahead to watch it. You have probably read the book too.

So what are you complaining about? I have never seen an article from you condemning po.rn in Nigeria but you can proudly show how much of an hypocrite that you are by condemning a movie into which so much effort was put into.

Its weird with u feminists. Men cant win no matter which way the coin is tossed. He cheats, he gets bashed. she cheats, he still gets bashed. I think the idea of a man been an endangered specie is actually true. This dude probably is not perfect but i am sure he is doing his best the only way he knows how. at least emphatise with him. if he was your brother what would be your response. Now he's shameless despite the fact that there is a ready made industry made out of bashing men and painting them as serial cheats. Damn.

baby124:
Such a shameless husband. For this act, I actually pity the wife for the hell she may have gone through at the hands of such a husband. I am all for couples not washing their dirty linens in public like this. What is the gain? You are only embarrassing yourself and people will not only laugh at her but even more at you. I hope they do not have kids because this is even worse. I don't know if it is grief that made him do this, but this is psychopathic. He should leave her alone and move on with his life. Why such a pathetic video?

Car Talk / Car Restoration Project(mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, 2door Convertible 2005 Model) by rhymeup(m): 10:48am On Jan 23, 2015
Hello House,
I would like to have an audit performed on a car (Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, 2 door convertible).

I had a few issues with the car when i bought it, mostly around overheating. Found out the hard way that mechanics can be devils. Considered selling the car but would prefer to restore the car(the word is 'love-vendor the car') but was advised to first have an audit done on the car to ascertain what the issues might be.

Is there any contact for a 'trustworthy' mechanic(i think they are in the same league as unicorns) that someone can help me with.

Also plan on restoring a Peugeot 504 but that's a project for later.

Here's a picture of the car attached. Had earlier put this in autos but was advised to move it to car talk.

will get some more pictures of the interior so as to have an idea of what i am talking about.

So glad that others can also read in between the lines. Writer started off trying to sound unbiased but that lasted all of 3 lines.

Iroh88:
I was getting irritated by the writer's bias, but when I got to the point below:
I couldn't stomach the irritation anymore.

Firstly, the writer made it sound as though it is INEC's fault some people have decided not to go out and collect their PVCs!! Of course not all eligible voters have theirs ready (which is a lapse that cuts across all the geopolitical zones), but the writer tried to make it look as though people from "Jonathan's strongholds" are the worst hit. Does he have a proof of that??

INEC published a data detailing the percentage PVC collection as against what has been made available across the country and one saw that Lagos, which constitutes one of the major advantages of the opposition, was lagging behind with barely over 50% of cards available collected so far, while states like Akwa-Ibom has very large percentage (84% there about). I bet the writer is ignorant of this!!! Does INEC have to coerce voters to go out and collect their PVCs?? The answer is, NO!

And back to the highly disgraceful quote above; the writer stated the incidences of violence the opposition has suffered as though it were some minor thing that could easily be waved aside, yet when he mentioned those suffered by PDP, he sounded like heaven was about to fall!! Tell me, since he chose to use the words apart from, let me join him in the game of "trivialising": now, "apart from" the burning of Jonathan's bus and the destruction of his campaign posters, what other casualty has PDP suffered?? People (APC members) were shot at at in PH and their secretariat bombed, but the writer imagines these are of lesser severity compared to burning of a bus and destruction of posters from the tone of his voice!!shocked

How bias can a journalist be!!!

This write up is one of such things that fuel the violence the writer wants to make us believe he's preaching against. The guy must be restrained before he causes more harm.

When I got to that quote, I stopped and decided to check out the link. I wasn't surprised when I saw the name of the writer.

Smh.

The first picture is an incident that was reported today of a man smashing his car into a crowd of protesters in Minneapolis. Today marks the 2nd night of protests. Just thinking out loud is this age of social media giving rise to people's ability to voice their concerns over government inaction or action as the case may be.
Has the ability to be heard given people the courage to organise and BE HEARD.
Methinks the government of the future would be markedly different from the government of today.

The second picture shows people lying down on the ground pretending to be dead.

Politics / 170 Protests Across America Over Michael Brown Judgement by rhymeup(m): 4:36pm On Nov 26, 2014
(CNN) -- The sparks of outrage that started in Ferguson, Missouri, have ignited a firestorm of protests across the country.
But the national furor isn't just about one grand jury's decision on one shooting case. To many protesters, the death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown -- and the lack of an indictment for the officer who shot him -- are symbolic of racial injustice in America.
"I think that it's important for people to know that the decision not to indict (Officer) Darren Wilson means that the system does not value black lives," one protester marching through Los Angeles told CNN.
Complete coverage of what's happening in Ferguson
"I think that it means that a cop can kill a black or brown kid when he's defenseless and unarmed and not get charged. I think that it means that we either fight back and stand up and end police terrorism."
More than 170 protests sprouted up across the country Tuesday. Some crowds blocked bridges, tunnels and major highways. But unlike the violence that erupted in Ferguson on Monday night, most of the demonstrations were peaceful.
In New York, a protesters spanning an array of races and ages filled Times Square with their hands up, some chanting, "Don't shoot." In Washington, a crowd including prep school students lay silently on a sidewalk, as if dead. And in Boston, even jail inmates joined in the protest silently from a window.
Here's what the country looked like late Tuesday:
ATLANTA

The Public Enemy anthem pumping from mounted speakers at a protest in downtown Atlanta captured the mood of the crowd of roughly 300 Tuesday night.
"Fight the Power," the rapper's voice shouted over the speaker. "Fight the powers that be. ..."
Some Atlanta protesters held signs that read "Enough" and "We are all one bullet away from being a hashtag."
"It's a travesty; it's just not right," ShaCzar Brown said, holding up a sign that read, "Stop killer cops."
"Seventy years ago, it was legal to kill black people," Brown said, referring to the spate of lynchings that spread through the U.S. in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. "It's essentially still legal."
BOSTON

About 1,000 protestors marched through the streets of Boston, passing by the South Bay House of Correction where inmates looked on from windows -- many of them holding their hands up in the air. On one window, someone had written "Mike Brown" in tape.
Even though police said 15 people were arrested, the gathering was peaceful. "I'm very proud of the young people here," Police Superintendent in Chief William Gross told the Boston Globe. "Do you see any cars burning? Do you see any broken windows? No."
Protester Daniel Jose Older told CNN the demonstration rapidly grew from a small gathering to hundreds of people.
"Folks have taken over the streets," Older said. "It's a beautiful thing to see."
CHICAGO

About 200 members of the Black Youth Project 100 started a 28-hour sit-in outside Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office on Tuesday morning.
Why 28 hours? According to the group, a black person is killed by a police officer or a person protected by the state every 28 hours in America.
Some lay motionless on the City Hall floor, as if they had been shot.
But by Tuesday night, the protest was over. After City Hall closed for the day, police threatened to arrest those attempting to stay inside.
LOS ANGELES

A stretch of the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles was temporarily shut down in both directions after protesters took road blocks from the streets and put them on the freeway, police said.
But protesters who gathered outside Los Angeles police headquarters demonstrated peacefully. "We have detained people. We don't have any property damage to speak of," Officer Jack Richter said. "We are letting (the people) exercise their constitutional rights."
MINNEAPOLIS
A woman in a group of protesters blocking an intersection was run over by a car.

The Star Tribune newspaper reported that the driver honked at the protesters before knocking a few people onto the hood of the car and apparently running over the woman's legs. The woman was hospitalized with "minor injuries."
NEW YORK

A massive protest wound its way from Union Square to FDR Drive and to the United Nations, Times Square and Harlem.
"Now it's not clear where we're going," said CNN's Miguel Marquez, who was interviewing protesters as they continued marching after midnight.
One demonstrator said he didn't even know about the protest until he saw it pass by his workplace on Times Square. He decided to join in.
"I just want to help bring about change ... sometimes I am profiled based on my race," said the protester, who is black.
"I think this is progress ... now we're going to make sure things are going to change."
As they marched, some protesters chanted, "Mike Brown! Mike Brown!"
Police, who were nearby in large numbers, stayed back and let the marchers go.
OAKLAND

Perhaps the most turmoil Tuesday night was in Oakland, California, where vandals smashed the windows of a car dealership and looted several businesses, including a T-Mobile cell phone store.
Some also set bonfires in the city. One row of bonfires stretched across a road, blocking off access.

At least one person was seen adding more items to the fires.
WASHINGTON DC
In Washington, protesters lay down on a sidewalk outside police headquarters as if dead, Nikki Burdine of CNN affiliate WUSA tweeted.

Some had handwritten notes on their chests: "Black lives matter."
Read what Darren Wilson told the grand jury
'A thousand Fergusons across America'
CNN's Paul Vercammen, Jessica Ravitz, Lorenza Brascia, John Blake, Greg Morrison, Rob Frehse, Tina Burnside and Bill Kirkos contributed to this report

Politics / Nigerian Plans To Take The National Assembly To Court by rhymeup(m): 8:39am On Sep 17, 2013
DIn view of the many calls for the declaration of the full disclosure of the salaries and allowances to the National Assembly; Someone has decided to take the bull by the horns. Find below an excerpt from Tunde Fagbenle's column in Punch of September 15, 2013.

Taking the National Assembly to court

A reader, “utterly disgusted” by the scandalous amount of money being drawn by our Federal legislators believes moaning about it is useless.

And so, Sope Durodola has decided that a court action by concerned citizens, whose tax-paying money goes into the pockets of the legislators, is possible recourse. “I believe there are millions of other people out there just like me,” he says. Sope wants “the judiciary to compel the Revenue and Fiscal Mobilisation Commission to benchmark salaries for the legislature based on what the minimum wage for the public service is and/or based on best practice from other democracies around the world.”

Writing from durosope@yahoo.com, he seeks like minds to join hands with him to prosecute the “citizen action”, attributing the continued malaise in the society to the docility of the middle class. Good luck to Sope.

What do you guys think?

The way i see it is quite simple really; you can choose to be right about this by claiming its not a big deal or let it go so that peace would reign.
i believe a rule of thumb should also be that would i like it if this was happening to me. Considering that i doubt it seriously.

DrummaBoy:

Luther, Calvin, Huss, Zwingli, Whitefield, Wesley, Spurgeon, King Jnr, etc criticized estab church of their time

DrummaBoy well said. I believe its time for us as Christians to become scholars of the bible. Its time to really read and begin to understand the wonderfulness of what God has in store for us. The reason i mention reading is because you only have to study church history to understand that every new dispensation of Christianity was always at odds with established order and God still moved. Martin Luther started the seeds of what would become the Protestant sect. Please read God's Generals, those men and women of God were moved by God to begin a revival of the faith even though they had Baptists, Catholics, etc at the time. God used them. We need to get into the word and let God lead us.
The OP put in a carefully worded discussion about the Bible and a statement been taken out of context. We should as brothers openly discuss this. The Bible is meant to be discussed with a view to getting a better revelation of God's plans for us. The idea that a topic is sacred and by discussing it we blaspheme is in my opinion WITCHCRAFT.

At the end of the day, a people deserve the government they get. I still recall that leading up to the elections, power supply magically became stable, and now, I can COMFORTABLY hug a transformer cos its deader than a doornail.

The Poster asked a question and its sad that i see people jumping out of the woodworks to actually castigate him for daring to even think about it.

C'mon people, all the poster said was that you dont lose sight of your finances. Now peeps are yarning about their personal prejudices,
what Sacrifices are you even talking about? In a good relationship both parties would make sacrifices in different areas because of their joint future; the problem comes when one party is not willing to make that sacrifice.
