Romance / Re: I'm Torn Between My Ex And New Boyfriend by riah: 12:27pm On Mar 09, 2022
Hello @mamiter.
I fully understand you. Please don't go back to an ex that has no respect for you, your privacy or your family. You are not yet married to him and he is already calling you names and going into your private messages to insult your friends. This is a red flag and you must cut off communications with him. If he is insecure now, it's best he moves on and find someone he feels secure with. At the moment, I will classify the relationship as toxic. He needs to find someone else that will make him happy but if you insist on staying with him, just know that he will drain your energy, your peace and your happiness. He is going through your emails to insult people, what will he do if he sees you talking with your male friends or colleagues? Beat you up in public?
Please let him go and be nice about it. Explain it to him that you are not compatible, hence the constant spats. As for the other new guy, please take your time to know him.
All my best!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Do You Know Lafred Engineering Limited ? by riah: 12:30pm On May 18, 2021
Hi. Yes I know Lafred Engineering on Shasha Road. I worked there as a customer relations officer in 2006/07. It is a one man's business. The CEO used to work for PHCN for many years until he branched out and started his Engineering firm. It is not a bad place to work at all. But for the pay structure I do not have any idea at the minute, I worked with them right after my NYSC and my pay at that time was 45k. All the best in your interview
Family / Re: How Third Parties Involvement Ruin My Parents Marriage by riah: 1:22am On Aug 15, 2015
My dear oyiza,

you have to be very strong, being married takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice on both parties involved and it is not a days job.

this whole experience of yours is part of the (settling process). I termed it so because this period of your marriage is a time where you both get to know eachother and understand each other better. you get to settle into married life. i promise you it will get better with time if you try hard to pray for your husband and satisfy his needs as much as you can.

I have no respect for men who hit their wives but if you try your best to be calm when he flares up and sure you will avoid him hitting you a great deal. as for his childish attitude of reporting you to his friends, be they married or not, he has no idea that an outsider is skilled at arranging another man's private affairs. they are the ones that believe they are best suited to controlling and dictating how another mans home should be run. i wouldnt even be suprised to find out that he hit you from the advice he got from his friends.

i pray you to find time alone with your husband, you are his wife you must know how to get to his softest spot and when you have got him there, appeal to his conscience in your softest bedroom voice, that it will please you a great deal if he can stop taking your affairs outside your home, you can explain the resultant severity of the same actions taken by your father in the past. this will jolt him to reality am sure.

Above all i want you to remember the man you married, the qualities he had that made you choose him and get rid of all resentments.

i wish you the best dear

@ solomonwis, i recently decided to relocate with my daughters to canada, even though my husband willbe the principal applicant, he has no inyentions of staying put due to thw fact that he has a very good job with exxonmobil here in Nigeria. I have a masters degree from the university of sunderland Uk and my first degree is from ABU zaria.

My questions are
1) will my husbands intentions to stay back marr our chances of relocating with the federal skill workers program? he is a mechanical engineer while am a communications manager

2) which of my certificates do i send forth for ECA

I shall anticipate ypur replies, this thread has enlightened me greatly. thank u

When I first travelled I was always jumping queues when ever I went shopping and it was time to pay. U know in naija it doesn't matter if u came first, u just scream at the shop attendant and ask for your bill, so I thought it would be the same there. Lol. The guys at the till gently told the the queue was around the corner pls!

Hello, I studied at the university of sunderland and I got a distinction, I was so elated due to that fact, I was very enthusiastic about returning home because I believed I was going to get a very good job upon arrival. Its been 5 months since I got home, and I still haven't got anything doing, its even by God's grace I get called for interviews and I subscribed to practically all the job/recruitment sites. Its hard! Very hard here. Am just amazed to be honest
Career / Re: Jobless For 2yrs And Asked A Prospective Employer To Review Salary by riah: 7:24pm On Jun 18, 2013
Oh my dear brother, you really shouldn't have done that from the first day of collecting your letter, granted you needed more money as it is obvious you know your worth and what you are able to deliever to the organisation but you should have been a bit patient, started your job and then the call for remuneration package revaluation would come at a later date. This is however a gamble so sit tight my brother and see how it plays out. I wish you well

Politics / Re: David Mark’s Presidency Campaign Posters Printed In Lagos [PHOTO] by riah: 1:13pm On Mar 20, 2013
What!!! David mark as the Nigerian president? Then we are all in trouble! shocked. He is a highly corrupt man. During his time in the military under the babangida/abacha regime, where he served as military governor of niger state as well as minister in different capacities, he stole so much money from Nigeria and went into exile in ghana because the then military administration, sort him for misappropriation of public funds but the ghanian government refused becauseb at that time he was contributing a high percentage of the foreign exchange in circulation in their economy at that time. He also has so many srolen wealth spread abroad. It is also rumoured that he owns a golf course in europe.
My dear brothers and sisters can there never be a presidential aspirant in Nigeria with a clean slate? Can we never find a honest man whose intergrity is top notch and who has the best interest of the masses. I just wonder atimes if these evil leaders have no shame, especially when they meet their counterparts abroad when they attend meetings, how do they justify their heartlessness? no good roads, no tap water, nothing at all. We need someone new and it is definitely not david my nyash mark!

Politics / Re: Public Power Supply Continues To Improve by riah: 9:40am On Dec 29, 2012
improve? no way bro, power supply is epileptic in my area (shasha), infact, it is rashioned, one day on, one day off.even on the days we are on, you can only get electricity supply from 12midnight until 5am in the morning, nothing at all during the day, it is so frustrating, i cannot store anything at all in the freezer. i cant help but wonder on a daily basis, why corruption has eaten deeply into the hearts, souls and conscience of our leaders, they travel abroad all the time and see how much is achieved due to steady electricity supply, why then ca't they just incorporate this into our society, our country, our homes just to make it better!!! its so sad because no foreigner will do it for us.
Family / Re: Postpartum Depression: What You Need To Know by riah: 10:30pm On Oct 17, 2012
wow! this is a very sensitive topic, especially as i suffered from this ailment, i will call it an ailment because it affects one's psycological balance. I sunk into post natal depression, after i had my second child in the uk while i was studying for my masters degree and at the same time, i had a three year old daughter (my first born)with me too.my husband who is a seafarer, doesnt live with us but only comes when he is on leave, so i had a three year old daughter, a new born baby, a masters degree, the house cleaning, school runs, grocery shopping and a thieving landlord to attend to all by myself, it was just overwhelming and i broke down,i felt worthless, i was crying all the time,i hated my life that period, My doctor noticed when i went in for the six weeks doctors visit and sent the health visitor who was a constant help to me,i also had a friend called florence who was a constant support, i eventually got over it all after about 10months. this is a very dangerous phase to be in and pregnant women, especially first time mothers need to be concientized in readiness for it.
