ModestGal: You are LYING, some people believe in their own LIES. Especially, offices in Abuja, so many stories of those employed there that I know, even promotion is man know man, then you have grace. Stop decieving Nigerians please if this is your mentality about UN and other agencies in Nigeria, can't you shove it down your throat, come out when you have prove that she has scammed anyone here concerning this, you don't have the relevant information to give us, the one that say she works there is trying to help us out with job updates and CV revamping but you're here gallivanting the whole thread looking for who is a liar and scam Well I won't blame you cus my father used to say, "in a family, there would be someone to always volunteer to be stupid wherever he finds himself Abeg IderadeAratumi , I'm a social worker is there any openings for me?? |

Lonelypacifist6: Op don't be deceived it's not always enjoyment, the UN is not a Nigerian political office, There's real danger in working for the UN but if you're dedicated you'll look past that. Terror groups anarchists are known to attack, maim, kidnap UN workers. I'm speaking because I've worked with the UN before. Una don work with UN before and don retire, Oya tell us how to get there, u say no, na just to know who dey kidnap and beating around the bush Help us out here! How do u get into the UN? What qualifications, skill, academic heights and other things, tell us what we need to know Haba!!! |

Focusmind: You don't get hired by UN directly except if you lucky to enter through their global talent program which is very competitive. There are international agencies, working in the humanitarian sector in Nigeria, paying more than UN.
Deepen your skills in Data analysis, Monitoring and evaluation, Report writing and graphics, Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Development and conflict management.
Masters degree is a must as it gives you an edge. The sector is fiercely competitive and you have to show strong competitive advantage over other candidates.
Search for job with the following organisations in Nigeria: USAID British Council Danish refugee council; Norwegian refugee council Plan international Palladium RTI Ford foundation Christian aid Caritas German development cooperation European union and ECOWAS Creative associates Medicine san frontiers INTERSOS Save the children
There are many others that I can't remember again. You need to horn your skills with these organisation to make your path to UN easier. Thanks a lot bro, been looking for agencies under the UN on Google, but could not get it Thanks for this! If you have more pls drop |

tito44: Lol
Least pay in UNDP or WFP is like 420k per month (for the drivers). No tax and pension deductions. Some Agencies of UN pay as high as 1.2m a month for mid-level officers. The only thing is that ur contract gets renewed after every 6months ( and if u re not in good terms with ur manager, he/she may choose not to renew ur contract). U don't get an open ended contract like other international firms and NGOs. I know this coz I work for......
Which of the agency are u gunning for? Can you help with list of international NGOs? Google is not helping out I'll love to intern for any of them, how do I go about it |
