Judolisco:
It depends maybe it was during exams.... As a lecturer I do seize my student's phone during lectures, it's the only way you can stop them from pressing it as well as paying of fines, but d fines now do not face them anymore, it's 50 box or 100 box so they'll pay it...

I do not support dis action though... There are other ways to punish a student
Exactly there are other ways to punish the student .

That makes no sense.
Ask the person to drop the phone on your table to get when the lecture ends or leave the lecture hall.
Why would you destroy an almost 500k phone ?
Nonsense the punishment doesn’t fit the crime !

World bank is like low class call girl parading like a high class one. Nigeria and most African countries continue to fu$k with no condom.
That $1.6 billion will turn into $3.2 with interest.

So, how much did you sell the product to NNPC? I can’t see the actual price in the press statement. Again, I call on Dangote to come out clean. The presidential committee is not the one producing for you. Tell Nigerians directly how much you’re currently selling to NNPC based on the crude you bought in dollars.
I think he is trying to save NNPC face buy not indicating how much he sold it . As it seems NNPC are doing him a favour but even selling to him .
RomanceRe: Is It Right For The Man To Do The Buying Of Cooking Things In The Market? by rickleye: 10:43am On Sep 12, 2024
EmekaBlue:
Please forgive my grammatical errors.

I would like to hear/read your take on this topic.Recently I noticed some of my married male friends are the ones who go to buy things in the market for the kitchen.

Please don't call me a woman wrapper or a simp. I really don't fancy men going to the market to buy food stuff even to the extent of buying leaves and those local things for soup. Right from time I'm not a kitchen person so maybe this is a reason but I don't think it's nice to take over that woman's department because you feel she might be adding more money or you just want to keep account of your expenditure... If she wants to chop there abeg leave her and maybe try only to minimize her gains by letting her know you have idea of the prices but not carrying your masculine body to the market to be pricing ugwu leaves ogbono and kpomo.
I guess you never lived a bachelor life or travelled outside the country. There are men who are better bargainers than the wife. Perhaps the wife is sick or travelled out . There is nothing wrong in a man doing that . Now, if there is an issue of trust , why marry her ? I mean if she works and you work , why are you concerned that she is short changing the family infact stealing from the family.
If that is the case then if I am supporting the house hold, I’ll let her handle food supplies while I handle rent, or vehicle maintenance or something else.
FamilyRe: I'm Contemplating Divorce After Two Years by rickleye: 3:09am On Sep 03, 2024
Successtube:
I never thought I’d find myself contemplating divorce just two years into my marriage. As a bachelor, I’d look at couples splitting up and wonder how they ended up there. Didn’t they date and get to know each other first? Didn’t they see the signs? And yet, here I am, standing on the brink of making the same decision. I dated my wife for a year and three months before we got married, and I thought I knew her. But I was wrong. She lied and pretended to be someone she wasn’t. Now, I’m starting to see who she truly is, and it’s tearing me apart.

Immediately after our wedding, I noticed changes in her that hadn’t been there before. One month in, we were not having sex like any newly married couple would. Every time I tried to be intimate, she’d have some excuse—a headache, feeling tired, or being stressed from work. I tried to be patient, thinking it was just a phase. But it didn’t end. When I finally asked her what was wrong, she bluntly told me she didn’t like sex. I was shocked. How could she not like sex? We had been intimate enough times while dating for me to believe otherwise.

“How can we have children if we don’t have sex?” I asked, trying to keep my frustration in check. Her response was indifferent, almost as if it didn’t matter. From then on, she’d sometimes only have sex with me during her ovulation period, like it was a chore to check off her list. It went on like this for over eight months, and I felt more and more disconnected. I felt unwanted, unloved. Every attempt to bridge the gap between us only seemed to widen it.

But the cracks didn’t just stop there. Through a relative of mine, I managed to get her a job that paid her 300,000 Naira monthly. She seemed happy, and I was glad I could help. Then, fate dealt me a blow—I lost my job. After months of searching, I managed to find another one, but it paid only 120,000 Naira a month. I couldn’t afford to stay home, so I took it, thinking it would just be temporary until I found something better.

My 120,000 Naira salary barely covers our expenses. I take care of the rent, food, bills, and still fuel my car to get to work. The one that hit me hardest was when our rent increased to 700,000 Naira around the same time my car’s engine gave out, needing another 500,000 Naira to repair. I felt the walls closing in on me. I was struggling, juggling all these financial burdens alone. I turned to my wife, thinking she’d step up and help. After all, she was earning more than double what I was. But all she could offer was 50,000 Naira.

I was speechless. She looked at me and said it was a man's duty to cater to his family, and she could only "assist." Her words felt like a slap. Here I was, drowning under the weight of our expenses, and she was holding back. I had to sell one of the lands I’d bought back in my bachelor days to cover the bills. I never thought I’d be in a position where I had to sell my hard-earned property just to survive while my wife, who I had helped get a better-paying job, stood by and watched.

The emptiness gnawed at me until I reached out to someone who had once filled a different kind of void in my life—my ex. We had broken up years ago because of distance when she moved to London for her studies. But we never really ended things on bad terms. There was always a "what if" lingering between us. Now, in my loneliness, that "what if" turned into late-night conversations, laughter, and the kind of warmth I hadn’t felt in a long time. I sneak out every now and then to be with her. I know it’s wrong. I know cheating is not the answer, but I felt like I was drowning, and she was the only one who could save me. With her, I felt alive again, seen, and heard. Things quickly escalated, and before I knew it, I was back in her arms. It felt like a betrayal of my marriage vows, but at the same time, it felt like the only way to reclaim a part of myself that had been lost.

I never imagined I’d be contemplating divorce, but here I am. I want to marry my ex. I want a fresh start, a chance to feel loved again. I don’t know if I can continue in a marriage where I feel more like a burden than a partner. Maybe it’s time to face the harsh truth: some people change, and some people never really were who they claimed to be. Maybe it’s time for me to choose my own happiness, to take a leap and start over.

Don't make the same mistake I made. Study your partner thoroughly before to married, don't rush!
I am not a proponent of divorce except for physical abuse. But there a couple of things you have mentioned which raise a red flag.
I’ll start with the money issue - what is yours should be hers and vice versa. Offering 50k out of her N500,000 doesn’t make sense. After paying each other 10% of what you make, the rest of your salaries should collectively go towards paying your bills and savings ( investments) .
Your comment that it is a man’s responsibility to cater for a family doesn’t show love but that rather something is fundamentally broken in the marriage.
Now for the sex part - most women give that excuse . Why ? We don’t know but usually it comes from them not feeling appreciated by you or loved or that they aren’t attractive to you any more ( love language issues )

I would say take this to an elder or if you got married in a church to a pastor that has a counselling practice. Not someone who will pray things away. Marriage is a job and you both need constructive criticism and feedback.

Best of luck

Christianity EtcRe: Will None Tithers Go To Hell? by rickleye: 1:15pm On Sep 01, 2024
nikky5:
Recently, I have heard a few of our fathers of faith in Nigeria preach that tithe defaulters will not make it to heaven when they die.

I will need further clarification on this because I have stopped paying my tithes for about three years now. I also believe in tithing as an old testament law. Well, I may be wrong in some ways. Can anyone throw more light on this please. I am a born again Christian.

Thanks.
God doesn’t want anyone to die but repent. The only reason why hell exist is for Satans and fallen angels . However, those that deny Jesus Christ as the son of God will also be condemned there. After all that Jesus suffered for both rich and poor on the cross, for a person to reject that sacrifice is what will lead them there. There are other categories as well liars, fornicators etc

If we believe the whole bible is God inspired . Abraham first gave a tenth first . And Malachi 3:10 says “ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

It is a command and a reward - Bring …and I will do this ….

I find people who don’t trust maybe their Pastor have an issues giving tithe. Or in Naija case economic factor. Things are hard yet it is during such times that we ought to give.

Where I go to church, my pastor drives a SUV and has a house. He is a common fellow , moderately dressed down and humble. Nothing flamboyant or unbecoming . He pays tithe like everyone ( I’ve seen his cheques as I work in finances ) . We have 2 services and have about 600 people weekly.

I started paying tithes in 2002 or so . My first tithe was N1000(N250 a week) . Which was Allawee 10,000 a month. That was a struggle. I had tears in my eyes when I wrote the cheque at the Auchi corpers lodge . But as revelation came, I tried to rationalize that when I make it big , I’ll give big. But it starts with small steps. What happens when you are faithful is that people will give you a Pentecostal handshake ( when someone blesses you with an envelope ) or one of the Corper lady’s makes a pot of stew and blesses you. I’ve never lacked.

Fast forward, I now give 100 times, joyfully and without batting an eyelid. Once I get paid - I put some aside for savings, tithe, bills . I live off the rest . Will I go to hell if I don’t pay tithes, I don’t believe so . God is not mocked brother, if you start with 5% and increase as your faith increases . It is well . The law kills but the spirit gives life.

I don’t compare myself with others who may not pay tithes. They may have more money in their pocket but be beset with issues and problems . To everyone their own. God Bless
SportsRe: Chelsea Calls Off Pursuit, Osimhen to remain in Napoli by rickleye: 11:49pm On Aug 30, 2024
A305:
I am a Chelsea fan. I think the way Chelsea has handled this transfer issue with Oshimen is too disrespectful. If Oshimen was white, he wouldn't have been treated this way being priced down and under valued — loaning a top striker like Osimhen with option to buy and re-negotiate a reduced wage is not fair enough deal for him. What if they Chelsea decide not to sign him after the loan? The implication for that is, his market value will greatly diminish.

Osimhen too is somehow too greedy, not compromising enough to accept Chelsea's contract due to reduced wage indicates he is in the business of football to make that money and not for the love/passion of the game.
Make up your mind. Chelsea fault or player .
Chelsea wasn’t the one that placed a 120million buy out clause on his head.

Anyways he’s on his way to Saudi

EducationRe: Thousands Of International Students In Canada Face Deportation, Sparking Protes by rickleye: 11:23pm On Aug 28, 2024
Most of the issue is caused by the schools that offer courses and degrees of no relevance. Taking advantage of the lure of Canada 🇨🇦 to invite students and get their hard earned money . Canada is facing a crisis of people not being able to buy affordable homes , shortage of doctors , drugs.
Canada needs people but mostly doctors nurses, psw .

Look at you arguing for women even with their daily actions in relationships and marriages.

I personally don't see why I should be saddled with any woman. I want my kids too and that's it, she has all the freedom to fly as she wants.

I want a lot of kids too with diversity, one woman can't do it.
When you are 60 and all alone . You’d quickly discover that you have nobody to share memories with . And when your kids are all grown up and have their own families to raise , you’ll understand loneliness.
I have uncles who separated from their wives and in their old age suffered a lot . To even operate the microwave is wahala. They go down 2 flight of stairs only to forget their keys and have to climb up and down again.
He died 2 days before anyone noticed and he wasn’t sick . Died normal causes.
Nah, because a few bad eggs give marriage a bad name doesn’t mean marriage as an institution is bad or outdated.
Someone to travel the world with share the hugs and tears.
Just ask the right questions , and put your head to the ground and you’ll find a good woman. She may not be perfect but at least your last days wouldn’t be filled with pain and loneliness
