The Blues have announced the acquisition of Kylian Hazard, who will train with the club's development squad


Chelsea have signed Kylian Hazard, the younger brother of star winger Eden.
Aged 22, Kylian is four years younger than his decorated sibling, who has won two Premier League titles, the League Cup and the Europa League at Stamford Bridge, as well as Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France for Lille.


Kylian Hazard joins Antonio Conte's side from Hungarian side Ujpest FC, and will link up with the club's development squad.


The younger Hazard has played for White Star Brussels and Zulte Waregem FC, prior to joining Ujpest in 2015. He has scored four goals in 42 appearances for the side from the left wing position.


He becomes the third Hazard to play for the Premier League champions, with Thorgan Hazard having been on the books at Stamford Bridge before joining Borussia Monchengladbach.

Recuperating President Muhammadu Buhari has given his administration a pass mark on its handling of the economy.


Buhari who was briefed yesterday by the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma , the Minister of Finance , Mrs . Kemi Adeosun and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) , Mr. Godwin Emefiele, on the state of the economy, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the N7 . 441 trillion 2017 budget.


Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, who disclosed this in a statement , said Buhari expressed happiness that things were looking up after two years of governance and urged the ministers to keep at it as the main aim of government was to bring comfort to Nigerians across all walks of life .


The statement said Buhari reminded the ministers and CBN governor that reviving the economy was one of the major planks on which the campaign of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) was based.
Udoma , Adeosun and Emefiele briefed the president on updates in the implementation of the 2017 Budget, preparation for the 2018 Budget, revenue strategies, combined cost reduction and debt management and on the improving state of the economy, the statement said .
Also discussed were monetary policy strategies and their economic impact , among others .


President Buhari arrived Nigeria on Saturday after nearly four months in the United Kingdom where he received medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment. Yesterday ’s meeting with his economic team in his office at the new Banquet Hall at the Presidential Villa , was his first since his return after three months of medical leave in the UK. Before then, he has been working from home while his office was being renovated following alleged invasion by rodents.

As well as a World Cup and multiple European Championship, Champions League and La Liga champion, former Barcelona and Spain star Xavi can now count himself a lottery winner.


Just as the iconic midfielder has been a magnet for trophies throughout his career, it seems money just flies at him too, as another big cheque has been handed to him by Doha Bank.


Less than a year after opening his account with the bank, the Spaniard has won 1 million Qatar riyals (€225,000) in their annual lottery and said he had been targeting the big prize all along.

“Winning the cash prize was an unexpected but welcome surprise," Xavi, now playing with Qatari side Al Sadd, said.


"I had opened my account in Doha Bank on the 5th of December, 2016, as I had taken interest in the Al Dana program after hearing about how Doha Bank encourages their customers to save money, and get a chance to become Millionaires, as well as the opportunity to win other cash prizes.


"I started to invest with the Al Dana Savings program, aiming to win the QAR 1 Million."


The 37-year-old is said to be earning around €10 million per year with Al Sadd, but obviously doesn't subscribe to famous adage that more money means more problems.

Manchester City have reportedly made a stunning cash-plus-player offer to seal the transfer of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, with Raheem Sterling offered as part of the deal.


The Blues have been chasing Sanchez all summer but have so far failed to persuade the Gunners into selling their star player, despite him only having a year left on his contract.


Arsenal have publicly stated that they’re ready to lose the Chile international on a free next summer, but it remains to be seen if a swap deal like this one could force them to reconsider.


According to the Daily Mirror, City are ready to sacrifice a name as big as Sterling in order to persuade Arsenal to let Sanchez go, though it is not clear how much cash is also on offer in the bid.

Another potential complication in the deal is that Arsenal would reportedly prefer to have City striker Sergio Aguero over Sterling, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners were useless in every department against Liverpool and have repeated their own mistakes of the past few years

No fight, no desire and no heart. The theme hasn’t changed and neither has Arsenal’s defending over the years as the Gunners succumbed to a dismal 4-0 defeat at Anfield.

There are some games where you can predict the outcome before the game has even been played and Arsenal’s defensive errors as early as the 17th minute let in Roberto Firmino for a headed opener.

Hector Bellerin, starting at left wing-back for the second consecutive game, looked out of his depth at times and gave away a shocking third goal to Mohamed Salah after taking a poor touch in his own half which allowed the Egyptian a one-on-one opportunity with Petr Cech.

From top to bottom Arsenal were an absolute shambles. Granit Xhaka has now made three errors leading to goals in his last three games. The Switzerland international was brought to the club for his ball distribution skills and ability to spread play, yet it is clear that Arsene Wenger’s side are still missing a defensive midfielder to break up play and attacks.

With departures set to continue over the next few days, Arsenal could do with new additions of their own.
