freddybonz: Yeah, I never argued the salaries would be increased but my argument was when the young man said they would earn more that A-list agencies directors, so an immigration red neck officer would earn more than an nnpc director or CBN director?....anyways the argument isn't even necessary I wouldn't want to reveal too much about this. But know it today that immigration personnel have the tendency to work legitimately with both local companies and MNC's. |

Good! You sound well informed and took your time to include and update your response with verifiable information. Basically, what drew my attention to the photo was the timeline. I was certain the photo wasn't very recent the way your post sounded as though it's due to the rising spate of insecurity in the country NIS became assigned the gun. Funny man , hope sey d belle don free you now? ecomog1990: Eh em em awa friendy, did the post say its today 2022 new photo?
How JTF? Look o in 2019, Nigeria Immigration Service launched new =N=145 million NIS FOB located in Daura specially to fight cross-border banditry, they own constitutional jurisdiction of border and cross-border ops more than any JTF, its JTF that came to meet NIS at home at borders and cross-borders, not that Nig Immigration was invited by JTF AFN component to come find new job at borders.
Immigration had LMG only at the time? What time? Mention date. See eh, roughly 18 months ago NIS began deployment of its own SOF trained immigration service special forces 2,000 men SF to specially fight Bandits across borders. NIS has a dedicated Combat Squad specially armed different from Regulars issued FAL, AKM, G3 etc.
Q 1. How old? Bikonu mention exact year of the photo sir. Pic is attached to 2015 event of Bandits invited to Nigeria start zanga zanga. Friend, is this old photo from our 1990 ECOMOG times?
Q 2. Access to it, NIS borrow JTF Army NA guns to do immigration work? So from whose armoury inventory was this LMG issued out?
Two easy questions for you to answer with small proof o, dear friend.
Hope weekend Sallah meat no run ya belle like my own cuz I over chop ram I dey message you from inside toilet nown |

It's an old photo. Besides, they were drafted to JTF at the time, the reason they'd access to it. ecomog1990: Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, an elder statesman from Kaduna State, also former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deputy governor, says thousands of bandits armed with heavy machine guns and rocket propelled grenade launchers were brought into Nigeria in 2015 by powerful Northern people who wanted former President Goodluck Jonathan out of power.
In an interview with The Punch, on Thursday, Mailafia said those powerful individuals intended to deploy the bandits for war if Jonathan did not concede the 2015 presidential election.
When Jonathan conceded defeat to Buhari the bandits were no longer needed for the planned war, so they were abandoned.
To survive, these bandits started this nationwide robbing, raping, maiming, killing, looting, bombing, terrorizing, kidnapping of innocent Nigerians.

Okay now, when the bandits bombed Kaduna train and kidnapped passengers, they told new media that Nigerians should go and ask President Buhari about their agreement, so that the public can understand the reason they are destroying Nigeria.
We don go buy poisonous cobra for market carry am go house o.
___________
Meanwhile as everywhere dey rough nown for Nigeria, our Immigration Service now uses bipod squad LMG o. This country don mess.

I tell you! So why won't fake news thrive when people are only ready to hear what appeals to them. No verification, no facts finding! Blue3k: Facts I don't get what's so hard to get about this subject. People are just being hard heads about this subject. Its the same way people argued with me the Supreme Court didn't have original jurisdiction over cases between two states. Its amazing how these guys made these long fallacious arguments. |

You are absolutely correct! You and that SIRTee15 gentleman. You see, many Nigerians don't even understand the textualism of our Constitution. I would have been equally guilty of this blunder if not for the nature of my work Blue3k: I was about to mention the same thing. It seems folks here don't know the basics.

You're right and he's not completely wrong either. Just to buttress your point further according to what we were taught, a new reform has been made on the Inspectorate Cadre whereby there are only 2 ranks therein now - the Assistant Inspector (Unconfirmed Inspector for Police, Level 6) and Inspector (Confirmed Inspector for Police, Level 7). Prior to this new reform, there was a reform that was initiated to put a barrier to personnel who didn't or couldn't acquire the additional certificate (i.e. Degree) needed to properly advance into the Superintendent Cadre. Heretofore, this category of personnel could attain the rank of Chief Superintendent with their O'Level. Thus, to put a barrier to this phenomenon, the solution was to create an Inspectorate Cadre to absorb them and make them rise to Chief Inspector instead, since they couldn't just be dismissed. Therefore, this present reform (i.e. relinquishing the Inspectorate Cadre) can now come to stay because this set of people are now properly retired. Hope this information helps! Thanks2God: @suppoOmoo I have made the enquiry from so many officers in my command. The reply they all gave me is that In IMMIGRATION, there's no Officer at level 08 on inspectorate cadre. All level 08 officers are on supretendent cadre with one Star on their shoulder. Have equally ask some officers on inspectorate cadre, dey said non of them is on level 08. There's no level 08 inspector since after 2020 harmonization of Rank |

Greetings Dannyxy and all other honourable members of the thread. It's a privilege to be one of the products of this recruitment thread and a beneficiary of your unwearied kindness. To your question, my colleagues have said it all. We have been given to understand time to time that the 'rituals' are not punishments but drills to ensure that we're physically fit and disciplined. Our civilian mentality is meant to fade away while a militarised one is imbibed. It's simply what the job entails, and it's what we're adapting to. There's this morale we sing in my command, it's titled "Hymn 001". It goes thus: "No be me call you, make you kan join us, na here we dey o, you carry your problem come, anything you see o, na your own, anything you hear o, na your palava"
In all, our instructors are really doing a great job. Shout out to our able instructors - Banky aka Bravo (O.C sharp guy), Onanuga, Jacob, Wale, Benson, Obi, etc. Our Provost and his 2IC, and lastly all our course facilitators, they're just too much, God bless them all! PS: In my command, everyone is seen as equal (recruits). So, nobody/cadre is made to or perceived to be superior yet as long as we're all still putting on white and white. From Lagos Command! |

Thanks2God: I can confirm that you are still very wrong in your assertion. I don't know about other agencies under interior, but what I know and has seen with eyes is that immigration Pays certain allowance in addition to the basic salary on appointment letter. You basing your position on assumption but am telling the reality with 100% certainty . There's no immigration personnel that receives only basic salary that stated on appointment letter without any added Allowances. Pls don't misinform the public of what you are NOT sure/certain about
I challenge you to go am make your inquiry and report back to us your findings You have time oo, how could you be this nice to dignify what that baga posts? Speaks so confidently and authoritatively like he's been there, seen and knows everything! Someone everybody has left to be having a field day while they are busy with the new job. I'm sure he doesn't even know the difference between basic, gross and net salaries |

I've always wanted to be in my field but the country never provided me with an opportunity. Like I said, thank you all for your inputs. I apologize to those that got hurt in the heat of the debate. God bless y'all. You're welcome, my brother. Really, it's appalling seeing people quote just salaries as the yardstick of living a purposeful life. Someone may be earning a lot but doesn't feel fulfilled. If you want to create a topic, go to the front page, select the section that suits your topic (I suggest "Career" here). Then go on to "create a new topic". It's as simple as that! |

tunnamaniah: I'm sorry if my comment offends you bro, but that's my view, and that's the truth. I believe nobody with common sense will tell the nigga to go NIS. You can as well say I don't have common sense. I won't take an offense bro.
But I will speak the truth as it is without cutting corners, or caring about your feelings. The CGIS annual salary is less than 5 million naira. So I don't know what you people are talking about and I don't know what is wrong with you.
To the the individual in question; don't let the fear of the unknown limit you in life. Remain blessed boss and once again, I do not intend to offend anyone with my comment. I'm really sorry if you find this offensive. What's it with you guys' description of salaries as the only point you can make when comparing the two choices? Do you work in NIS or NSIWC that you're too sure of the remuneration package of the service? And really disgusting to say the least that you people are making your emphasis on salaries from what you read online randomly Next time, learn how to help someone seeking advice by giving them all they have to know or things they might have to carefully consider (full pros and cons) which requires your experience so that you don't further confuse their confusion. When you give complete information, that person will be able to weigh their options and make an informed decision. To me, you're favouring the side you have the knowledge of, thereby giving a biased view. By the way, @rhapboss, I will advise you like what somebody wrote here some time ago to create a topic about it and beg the moderators to help you push it to the front page so that the elders can help you. In all, this is your turning point, so talk to your GOD to lead you on in making the best decision. After all, the aim is to fulfill purpose and destiny! |
