tsdarkside:but if a man from some parts of the delta speaks his language, an igbo man will understand the "nigerdelta" language, while you, his "blood brother" from warri, sagbama, etc will not understand. how come an igbo outsider can speak to asaba, agbor, ukwani,kwale, etc in delta and egbema, obigbo, ogba, elele, PH lga, etche people in rivers in their niger delta language, while you cant, please i ask because i want to learn, no insults please. i will also like to know how the egbema people in imo will leave their brothers (egbema of ogba-egbema-ndoni aka onelga lga) in the ss rivers, ndoki and asa ppl in abia will leave ndoki and asa in obigbo, and how etche rivers and imo will forget etche in rivers state to achieve this noble purpose. i support one delta to, but "we" nigerdeltan need to work these things out. ideas please? 3 Likes |

war is not childs play, victor banjo must have plotted something, maybe arrest ojukwu and hand over when he saw the war as hopeless, he was killed alongside ifeajuna who is from the same area with ojukwu. adewale ademoyega fought in the liberation army unit of the biafra army, and took over from ifeajuna and nothing happned to him till the end. why was ifeajuna and banjo killed. we dont know the clear answer yet. but its clear ifeajuna, chukwu nzeogu and banjo didnt really want the war and fought cos they had to choice. so they were well capable of "treasonable" offenses against biafra to gain the sympathy of the nigerian side 2 Likes 1 Share |

Abagworo:What do you mean by ikwere is distinct sir, i don't like going I into the identity debate but their dialect can't be more distinct than the nnsuka who even bear igala names like attama, onoja, etc, or abiriba IP and ohafia, as for me I hear the ikwere when they speak more than the nnsuka as my mother's dialect which I understand better is even closer to them. All the replacing of f with wh etc is same with my maternal side. Plus I have come to discover that all Igbo groups have enough to say they are not Igbo if they want, there was no empire that conquer all like Oyo did the.rst of Yoruba....most anyway...and they all have things they borrow from.neighnours that they can use as excuse. Onitsha, up to nnewi axis has, oguta has, nnsuka has, abiriba, Abam, ohafia and aro has, ndoki has, then all the Igbo speakers in Delta and Rivers has, more etche identifies as Igbo not because they have never being toasted with the Benin thing, but because they refuse, asaba too. I discovered that the more the oil, the more the denial, maybe if asaba and etche had more oil, the story will be.diffrent, Lastly my maternal home has so many borrowed culture that is Efik, our greetings, ekpe and oboni festivals, some names, nsibidi, etc. They could start stories if they wanted, now there was this man who retired from shell, and wrote a book about how the village originally came from gods know where, the village loudly booed him even though he was one of the richest, he is dead now. Even as we speak, same thing is being done to egbema and oguta people, and it's working slowly. That's how people deviate, not because the language is distinct, if I speak my mother's dialect, an ikwere man will understand, because apart from.tjeir use of z a lot, it's very alike.....we used v like them to....as in buru into vuru...the only change is ovu, which they call obu in my.moms side and obi in central Igbo, nda is nna, etc If there is oil in ebonyi, I tell u the ezza and izzi have enough to deny, their tongue sounds like Cameroon to other Igbos, This is not peculiar to Igbos, an ilaje man will sound strange to.an ijebu man.....but both are Yoruba.
