Millions of Nigerians on Facebook have made millions of dollars for Facebook by their daily supply of content of news, information, gossip and chats with millions of photos and videos. But Facebook does not even give them a cent in return.
I advise them to turn to blogging where Google shares millions of dollars from adverts on Google AdSense with bloggers for the posts on their blogs.
Then share the links to your blogs as updates on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others.
Google shares advert revenues with bloggers. But Facebook does not share revenues from adverts.
Without users' posts, Facebook will crash.

If a social network does not appreciate your contributions of contents, don't waste your data on it. Even LIB rewards regular readers
Facebook is not free, because you pay for every second you spend on Facebook.
You pay for power supply and you pay for internet..
I have made over N1 million on Facebook before I spent N150, 000 on boosting posts on Facebook..

140 Military Generals Retired In Two Years - Leadership Newspaper 2014

Politics / Throwback: Jonathan Sacks Northern Military Generals - Economicconfidential 2010 by RisMas(m): 11:31pm On Jun 11, 2016
Any moment from now the acting President of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan may succumb to pressure into sacking some top military and intelligent officers from Northern Nigeria through a deliberate smear campaign on suspicious disloyalty. According to the finding of the Economic Confidential, the pressure is being mounted by powerful groups of politicians and ethnic leaders from the South through some selected media and blog outlets.
The sectional groups under the guise of fighting for national interest want either the Minister of Defence, retired General Godwin Abbe from Niger Delta or the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshall Paul Dike an Igboman from Delta State to make the announcement.

The groups were encouraged by the visits of former American President George Bush and ex-British Prime Minister Tony Blair to Goodluck in Abuja which they believe is an endorsement of superpowers for Goodluck to takeover fully. They are therefore suggesting that Jonathan should emulate the strategy employed by Olusegun Obasanjo when top Northern military officers were retired prematurely in 1999 and nothing happened.

The excuse given for the premature retirement of northern military officers during Obasanjo’s administration was that most of them were alleged to have held political appointments such as military administrators, ministers, chairmen and members of corporate bodies and public institutions.

Not only are the top military officers the target, the campaign is also geared towards removal or forced resignation of the National Security Adviser (NSA) retired General Abdullahi Sarki Mukhtar. No concrete reasons have been brought up on the need to do away with this well-respected and disciplined intelligent officer who during Abacha regime looked the Junta on the face to discredit the so-called coup attempts. He has been apolitical, always discharging his duties fearless and diligently.

The ongoing campaigns against the northern military and intelligent officers are based on suspicious allegations that the personnel still have sympathy and loyalty to the ailing president Yar’Adua who is recuperating in the Aso Villa, Abuja instead to the acting President Goodluck Jonathan.

Surprisingly one of the targets of attack is the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Abdulrahman Dambazau who is deliberately being misquoted and misrepresented by politicians for ulterior motives. Unperturbed General Dambazau has remained consistent in his advocacy against military intrusion in partisan politics. At every forum, he reminds Nigerians that the constitutional role of the Armed Forces is primarily anchored on the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity. He once said “Meddling in political issues does not complement our constitutional role in any way, shape or form… regardless of the imperfections of our political experiments, democracy remains the only acceptable form of governance. And as members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, we must defend it at all cost.”

At other occasions he warns members of the Armed Forces to steer clear of politics, reiterating that the current Nigerian military is mindful of its past, conscious of its present and hopeful of its future.

Apart from the campaign for the removal of the military personnel from the North, some Northerners holding some strategic positions may also be targeted for replacement. Already there is a move to replace the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri from Benue State with Professor Dora Akunyili, Minister of Information from Anambra State. Other campaigns that would follow includes demands for removal of Group Managing Director Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo and reversal of some decisions taken by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on some banks.

Different anti-North groups have emerged after the declaration of Goodluck Jonathan as Acting Vice President to wage tactical and surreptitious war against Northern interests. The ultimate result of their campaigns is to lead to dismembering Nigeria as a nation. Some of the strategies they use to pass their messages including threats of secession to deny the North of oil revenue and the use of militants to destroy oil facilities in the Niger Delta region. Members of the groups are well educated and connected in the use of media, blogging and lobbying the international community. Their campaigns against ineptitude of ailing President Yar’Adua were pretext against the North comprising three regions in Nigeria.

Due to this untoward development some Northerners who were never in supports of Yar’Adua and his administration, are becoming more disenchanted by usual condemnations of the entire North for actions of individuals. Due to this development more Northerners are becoming more sympathetic to Yar’Adua plights. One of the Northern governors asks rhetorically: “Who force Yar’Adua on Nigeria knowing fully well that he has live-threatening ailment? Was it not a former President from the South?”

A retired military general from the North told the Economic Confidential that “Most of those noises coming from those groups and individuals are geared for hidden agenda and if untoward development happen they shamelessly support such or flee the country if they couldnt get favorable slots. It had happened before. If the nation fails again, politicians, media and bloggers should be blamed. The international community would never take us serious with the kind of hatred among our people”

140 Military Generals Retired In Two Years - Leadership Newspaper 2014

With the recent retirement of service chiefs, the number of generals retired from the Nigerian armed forces in the last two years has reached at least 140, LEADERSHIP Weekend’s investigation has shown.

From the statistics available to LEADERSHIP Weekend, about 40 major-generals and 52 brigadier-generals were retired from the army, followed by the air force with 25 air vice-marshals and 40 air commodores; in the navy, about 20 rear-admirals and 38 commodores were retired between 2012 and 2014. This was confirmed by a top military officer who sought anonymity.

In a swoop, President Goodluck Jonathan recently retired all the service chiefs: the chief of defence staff (CDS), Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim; the chief of army staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika; and the chief of naval staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Dele Joseph Ezeoba. He however spared then chief of air staff (CAS) Air Marshal Alex Sabundu Badeh and elevated him to chief of defence staff.
The new helmsmen who joined Air Chief Marshal Badeh are Lt-Gen. Kenneth Minimah (COAS), Air Marshal Adekunle Amosu (CAS) and Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin (CNS). As usual, the three service chiefs have reshuffled the teams they inherited, bringing in their officers. The implication of their action is that some generals and brigadier-generals are on their way out of the barracks due to various factors.
In the military, factors that lead to retirement from the three services include attainment of the age of 60 or 35 years in service and sundry reasons such as political expediency (especially retirement, if a junior officer is elevated to the rank of the service chief) or compulsory retirement for disciplinary reasons.

A serving general told LEADERSHIP Weekend on condition of anonymity: “In the last two years, about 100 generals and 40 brigadier-generals (using the terms you would understand) have been retired from the service. The reasons could be either on the attainment of 60 years or 35 years of service or political expediency.”
He said that since nature abhorred a vacuum “some of these generals are sent packing, others are being elevated to replace them because their retirements will create vacancies in the military”.
When asked to explain the political expediency, he said: “If someone that is junior in rank is elevated above his seniors, those seniors could be asked to request voluntary retirement, since they could not be asked to serve their junior. There are some exceptions like those favoured could be posted to the Defence Headquarters, or to the Army, Air Force or Naval headquarters where some of their mates are, if a junior in rank is posted as the commander where they are serving”.
He explained further that politicising of the service chiefs’ appointments had compounded the problem as some of the service chiefs had served beyond the 35 years in office and this means some of their colleagues or even juniors could be retired in order to inject new blood into the system. He also disclosed that some officers could be retired in order to allow someone who is of a lower rank to be elevated if the “powers that be want it so”.
When asked to give the distribution of the retired generals in the three services, he said the army has the highest number due to its numerical strength.
He said: “If an officer lost the opportunity to be promoted in three years, such an officer is expected to put in his paper for voluntary retirement, but if he failed to do that, he would be retired compulsorily. That is the rule.”
When asked to clarify compulsory retirement, he said those who failed to retire voluntarily would never be considered for any post-retirement appointments or assignments.

LEADERSHIP Weekend also gathered that a major-general is the officer that every officer wants to be even if it is for one day, because of its privileges such as financial entitlement.
“Any serving major-general is entitled to at least N1.3million monthly and another N1.5million for the running of his office. And once retired, he receives the same amount monthly. They are being given the same treatment like permanent secretaries,” another source said.
