irumole1975: What are Nigerians in this situation doing right now? Nigerians have been banned from seeking work permit in America. From working. From seeking permanent residency. The only option given by the international student office is to leave for a while.
naptu2: Abdul Aminu Mahmud attended the University of Jos and he was one of the student activists that took part in the 1989 SAP riots (the second SAP riot). He became president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in 1990.
He acted as an adviser to the students that organised the 1992 SAP riots (the third SAP riot). He was arrested and detained many times by the Babangida Administration.
Abdul Mahmud is a lawyer and he used his NGO, Public Interest Lawyers League, to defend a lot of social media users that were detained by the Buhari Administration (2015 - 2023).
Abdul Mahmud Aminu supported Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential elections (he was an Obidient), but he fell out with the Obidients during the 2024 Edo governorship election season.
Obidients that were from Edo State said that they had a zoning arrangement in Edo State.
They explained that Lucky Igbinedion from Edo South had eight years as Governor, Oserheimen Osunbor from Edo Central had eighteen months, Adams Oshiomhole from Edo North had eight years and the incumbent Godwin Obaseki from Edo South. They said that it was therefore the turn of Edo Central to produce the governor.
They said that APC produced someone from Edo Central, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as candidate, PDP produced someone from Edo Central, Dr Asue Ighodalo, as candidate and "other serious parties produced candidates from Edo Central", but the Labour Party produced a candidate from Edo South, Olumide Akpata. (Some of them insinuated that money exchanged hands in the LP primary).
They said that Olumide Akpata was from the same zone as Governor Godwin Obaseki and it would be unfair if he was elected governor. They said that they could not support him and they could not support APC, so they therefore supported Assue Ighodalo of the PDP. They called themselves Obidients for Assue.
This led to a civil war in the Obidient Movement. Some Obidients said that the Obidients for Assue had been paid to divide Obidient votes, while the Obidients for Assue said that the other Obidients did not know or understand the norms in Edo State.
Abdul Mahmud supported Assue Ighodalo and had serious arguments with Obidients back then.
He returned to the Obidient fold and supported Peter Obi in the ADC and NDC.
Its true that everyone has a price tag but woe unto you if your price tag is crumbs. From Sowore down to D'oracle they are all Cashvitists. I told someone few months ago that there are no true activists in Nigeria. They are all after their own gain. From being sponsored by unknown faces to their so called arrests. All fake. True activism in Nigeria died a long time ago, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Yinka Odumakin etc.

Something happened today that has really made me question myself as a man, and I sincerely need honest advice from mature minds here.
Earlier today, my younger one went to the field to play football. After some time, he came back home crying seriously with blood rushing from his head. According to him, he had an altercation with someone much bigger than him, and the person picked up a stick and hit him on the head.
Immediately, I became angry and asked him to take me to the field to identify the person that injured him. Deep down, I was expecting myself to react aggressively because I felt any normal man would naturally defend his younger one and confront the person strongly.
When we got there and I saw the guy, something happened to me. Instead of fighting or causing a serious scene, I just started asking questions about what happened. I couldn’t bring myself to react violently or aggressively the way many people probably would have. I eventually carried my younger one and went back home.
Since then, I have been feeling ashamed and disappointed in myself.
The painful part is that this is not the first time I have noticed this about myself. I always seem to avoid problems, confrontations, or situations that may escalate. Even when I am angry, I still start thinking about consequences, expenses, police issues, public embarrassment, injuries, and other complications that may arise if things get out of hand.
Because of this, I often withdraw instead of standing my ground fully.
Now I am beginning to feel like I am too timid and not confrontational enough as a man should be. Sometimes I feel weak, powerless, and unable to command respect the way other men do. I see some people react boldly in difficult situations while I keep overthinking consequences and avoiding escalation.
Honestly, it is affecting the way I see myself.
Please, I need sincere advice from experienced people here:
- How can someone stop being too timid or fearful? - How do you become more confident and confrontational when necessary? - How do you stand your ground as a man without always retreating? - Is this kind of behavior weakness, or is there another way to look at it? - What practical things can I start doing to become mentally stronger and more assertive?
I would genuinely appreciate honest advice, especially from men who may have struggled with similar issues before overcoming them.
Keep listening to all these dialogue this and that don't man up. One day someone will harm your child or wife and you'll go and dialogue right? A man should have a touch of violence. Have something that someone else would fear and think about before harming anyone close to you. There is no man that has ever survived being a dummy.
Someone harmed your bro and all you could do is going to ask questions. What if your bro died?
A lot of people have given up on Fubara. He fvkkd up big time. If you must fight, fight till the end don't be blowing hot and cold. If Fubara likes he should stay there and watch Wike useless his tenure.

Kalulu44: That's the problem I am having with people like you. You're saying it as if it's sure they're not going to win it. Going into that final is a 50/50 thing to any of the team on the day. Arsenal failing to win it doesn't mean it's bcus you're very sure they wouldn't, and winning it doesn't mean bcus I am sure too. If not the match wouldn't be played and they just hand over the trophy to their opponent. . To me everything has been alligning for them since they took 1st position from the group phase, and I have been saying it from Rd of 16 that it's theirs to lose. If they fail at the last hurdle, to me they tried and I also tried in my prediction. If they eventually wins it, woosai! What a beautiful prediction from me. . But saying it's sure for either of the opponent they'll meet in the final is a no no for me and the football world and pundits alike. If it's so, the finals wouldn't be played.
No time for long epistle. Arsenal will not win the UCL. Take it to the bank.
Kalulu44: Your own prediction is even match by match. Ask them, from round of 16 I have said it that Arsenal will win the ucl. One more huddle for my prediction to come to pass
Why you no predict say Man City go draw their last match? Check my prediction few days ago on Everton Vs. Man City.
KobolanderSegun: It's amazing that people criticise Peter Obi for his Constant moving from Party to Party.
What people have failed to see is that Peter Obi does not Own the party. Since he does not own the party his ability to influence the party is zero. Ownership determines control.
People say he should resolve the problems of the party that can only happen if the owner and Peter Obi are on the same page which is almost impossible.
The level of intrigue is high so it is best to walk away.
People say he should sit down in one party but if he feels the party and himself are not on the same page he should move on.
Peter Obi is a Legend in the NIgerian Political Space.
Why Peter Obi should keep on Changing Party
I remember when I used to use a black and green sim card to browse they had financial trouble and I wrote to the MD to help out through business strategy they never replied me, I moved to another Green sim card who I had written to the owner in 2007. When that company had browsing challenges in my area I moved to a yellow sim card. Now I'm Happy because I have fast internet.
Peter Obi should keep on moving till he gets what he wants and it is nobodies business how many times he moves.
A party is a means to the Presidency. A sim card is a Means to the Internet . Change your network provider if it does not give you what you want. Change your party if it does not give you what you want.
I'm an Oduduwa so you might think of crying in that bucket you hand out
No doubt.
Let Tinubu try it and see. Majority of people following Tinubu are criminals who are trying to protect their illicit businesses. Even the ones being declared wanted by EFCC. He should try what Obi has done and see if he can pull such crowd.
