A woman identified in a viral video as “Arugba” has allegedly threatened voters in Osun State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, warning those who do not support the All Progressives Congress against coming out to vote.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed the woman alongside several others making remarks that appeared aimed at intimidating voters before the August 15 election.
In the footage, she allegedly threatened physical harm against people who cast their ballots for parties other than the APC.
“We will cut the finger you used to vote [for] any party except APC. That finger won’t follow you go back home that day,” she was heard saying.
The woman further warned residents who did not intend to vote for the APC to stay away from polling centres.

Out of the total of 2,339,233 registered voters in the State, 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected.
15 Candidates will seek to occupy the Bola Ige House in Abeere for the next four years but the voters will only entrust one with their votes. There are however three frontrunners: The incumbent, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Najeem Salam of the ADC and Bola Oyebamiji of the APC.

Omooba77: President Bola Tinubu has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies to ensure a peaceful and transparent election in Osun State.
The people of Osun State will go to the polls on Saturday, August 15, 2026, to elect their governor in an election where 15 candidates are contesting.
Among them are the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and the African Democratic Congress, ADC candidate, Hon. Najeem Salaam.
President Tinubu also charged the electorate in Osun State to come out to discharge their civic responsibility and eschew any act that could disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election, while assuring the people of their safety before and after the polls.
“As the people of Osun State head to the polling units to elect who will govern them in the next four years, I call on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure orderly conduct of the election.
“The election must be transparent, free and fair. I urge INEC to ensure the integrity of the process,” the President said.
“INEC must use this last off-cycle election as a test case to demonstrate to Nigerians their full preparedness for the 2027 polls,” he added.
“I have charged the Inspector-General of Police and other heads of security outfits taking part in the election to provide maximum security at polling units. No room should be allowed for troublemakers to disrupt the process.
“Electoral officials and voters must be protected so they can perform their civic duties without fear or intimidation.
“Voters should feel confident to go out in their numbers to vote for the candidate of their choice as all measures necessary to ensure a peaceful, free and fair election have been put in place.
“Our elections must be credible, and the outcome of the Osun Governorship election must reflect the will of the people,” Tinubu declared.

A surname is a way or medium of honouring your ancestor. Africans, over the years have been brainwashed by the western culture that our ancestors evil spirits. Due to this, many Africans attach evil to the name 'ancestor'.
Culturally in Africa, surnames are adopted in turns. You adopt your grandfather's name as your surname, and when you give birth, your child adopts your father's name as surname. When your own child gives birth, the child adopts your own name as surname. That is how it goes and that is how lineage are honoured and preserved.
Millennials and Gen Z Nigerians now give their children their names as surnames without any atom of respect for their fathers, thereby cutting off their fathers from the lineage. If you so much cherish your name, you can give it to one of your child and has Jnr attached to it. People do it. But not cutting off your own father from the lineage by making your kids adopt your own name as their surname. It is bad and alien to the African culture.

Validated: One of the few things APC and Tinubu supporters have been hawking as achievement is the Fraudulent Students Loan Scheme. I call it Fraudulent because the supposed beneficiaries are being short changed by a failed system orchestrated by APC and Tinubu's failure.
Take a student currently at UNILAG. Total fee per semester is about N200k, all inclusive. To assist him/her, government gives him_her Student Loan. The student goes to town to "celebrate" this fraud?
Let's take a step back to 2013. UNILAG highest fees was N19000 (go and verify). So Tinubu, upped that by 10 times, and give you Loan to pay it. How smartly Fraudulent? Now the meat of it is that, in 2013, parents had jobs, so can afford to pay their children school fees. Petrol was N87, $1 was N187. Cement was about N450, today, Tinubu's bad governance has pushed all the cosst to 25 times in several cases. Unemployment has risen by 20 times, purchasing power has been eroded. So parents can no longer afford to send their wards to school abd fulfiil their parental obligations.
