zaandrew: I don't need to know nigeria. I know BH is strong and getting stronger, I know BH is a northern nigeria based orgnisation. It thuse needs to have the support of people in the north.

They do not need every body to support them, the fast majorty of people in east DRC did not support M23 but enough did for them to threaten the goverment

I never said they would try, I specfaly said they would go the rout of tamil tigers. Has in being destroyed. Once BH can fight pitched battel nigeria is a lost cause.

No I have not, the army of the DRC is larger than nigeria with T72 tanks, helcopters, jets, extra yet got beaten in pitch battel 2012. Same can happen with any country.
It is a North Eastern problem, mainly the Kanuri tribe as the driving force. Other memebers from other ethnic groups would desert them given half the chance. You just watch in the next few weeks what will happen.

herquleez: Lawyer or not, some things remain questionable as far as a rational mind is concerned.

How on earth can the much vaunted NA lose military hardware to a terrorist group time and time again? Reports of NA APCs being used againt the NA itself are rampant. Just ridiculous!

Another rationale question? How on earth was BH able to muster such a large force to attack such an important base right under the nose of the almighty NA?
Who said they belonged to the NA? The last APC that was burnt out in the Yobe incident was a Police APC afterall. Majority of journalists and civilians alike can't tell the difference and even call vehicles APCs when they are not.

You can criticize as much as you want, but they are doing a good job in containing the insurgency as much as they have. How can the same thing happen to the Americans, the Pakistanis etc.? I can't help thinking you have an agenda. Maybe they had help from people of your ilk.

DictatorZAR: If this is true then its a terrible indictment on your intelligence services. When we said that Boko boys has links with your army some time ago some of you claimed this was bullsh.it so tell me whose talking here.

Please can I also quote this web site on issues regarding your army because in the past you told us to not quote this web site.
There have been some intelligence failings, yes, but no military in the world can prevent traitors, not even the USA. SA too will have the same problem if there is an insurgency.

I have never said you should not quote punch newspapers, only Premium Times and Sahara reporters because of their sensationalism, but of course you can quote whatever you want.

Rather read about the stolen APCs that were used against the Naai-gerian military.

Uselessness at its best.

Attack by Boko Haram Islamists in Nigeria leaves many dead, say witnesses

Hundreds of Islamist militants have staged one of their most audacious attacks yet on a military base in northern Nigeria, prompting a 24-hour curfew that cut off roads and closed airspace, officials and eyewitnesses said.
A massive co-ordinated assault by the Boko Haram group in the city of Maiduguri may have left scores of people dead, Associated Press reported, and civilians "said they saw bodies with slit throats and corpses of insurgents burning in vehicles", but there was no independent verification of the death toll.
The killings dashed recent hopes that Boko Haram has been driven out of Maiduguri and other urban centres into remote rural areas.

Since 2009 the group has been waging a violent campaign to establish an Islamic state in Nigeria and impose sharia law on Africa's largest population.
Monday's attack was among its most dramatic and reportedly comprised up to 500 militants. In trucks and a stolen armoured personnel carrier, they laid siege to an air force and army base, razing buildings and setting shops and petrol stations ablaze on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the city where Boko Haram was founded.
Explosions and automatic gunfire could be heard across the north-eastern city from around 2.30am when the insurgents launched the attack with screams of "Allahu akbar," or "God is great".
"My family and I could not sleep till daybreak because the shooting continued till about 8am," Haruna Ali told Reuters at the scene. Military ambulances could be seen transporting bodies to a hospital morgue.
Brigadier-general Chris Olukolade, a defence ministry spokesman, said security forces had repelled attacks by "daring terrorists", adding: "Military locations such as the Nigerian air force base and some army locations in Maiduguri were targeted."
He claimed that 24 insurgents were killed and many injured along with two air force personnel, while two helicopters and three disused military aircraft were "incapacitated" in the attack.
Flights to and from Maiduguri international airport, which is near the air force base, had been disrupted during the clashes but had now resumed, Olukolade said.
The state government ordered all civilians to stay at home and extended a night-time curfew to 24 hours across the city. Kassim Shettima, the Borno state governor, vowed defiance: "We are going to replace all buildings destroyed by the insurgents even if they destroy them a hundred times. I know we shall overcome … the Satanic ideology of this group."
The attack comes a week after the Nigerian military bombarded forest hideouts of Boko Haram near the border with Cameroon, with air strikes and ground assaults.
President Goodluck Jonathan imposed a state of emergency in May in three states, acknowledging the insurgents had seized control of many towns and villages, and flooded the area with security forces. The military quickly forced the militants out of urban centres but have appeared unable to halt attacks on targets like schools, remote villages and major highways, where they set up impromptu roadblocks.
This has already been posted a few pages back. Journalists and civilians see hilux vans and call them APCs, see APC's and call them tanks.

It was an inside job, it happens, it won't change the outcome of the campaign. They are being hunted down, whether you accept it or not..

CraigB: The Hilux story was always a side-argument.

The story of the day is the uselessness of the Naai-gerian military and intelligence, which allowed Boko haram a great day at the office, this week.

That's the crux of the matter.

Whether one wants to argue "insider assistance" or something else, the roads lead to the same place - uselessness. Uselessness while fighting at home.
As usual, the Lawyer has nothing meaningful to add. What do you know about COIN/CT?

Fighter Pilot: Are you sure about the above statement? We all know that Nigeria has a population of over 40% muslim. Do a proper research.

Obviously, there will be a sect that will arise among this 40% population, which will feel that they are not friendly with the way they are being governed in relation to what they believe in.
What makes you think 40% of muslims want sharia law with all the baggage and oppression it brings? Sorry, you do proper research and stop reading articles from people with political, ideological and religious motives. They don't represent majority of Nigerians.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 6:33pm On Dec 03, 2013

If you have ever visited Nigeria, you will understand that majority of people don't want it. There is also a large population of Christians and other beliefs in the North contrary to popular belief.

Obrafour: No carpet bombing in Civilian areas? Well I have no reason to doubt you, but Its either there is collateral damage or the BH dead reported by the army as a result of an air raid is inflated.
It is not inflated. Thousands have been killed. As has already been explained, there are a lot of foreign fighters involved as well.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 4:59pm On Dec 03, 2013
Obrafour: The use of carpet bombing will certainly result to civilian casualties thereby boosting the terrorists with die-hard recruits. During the army's campaign in the Niger Delta, there were reports from journos that there was always a tip off about army operations against Mend and the other pirates in the niger delta. So having a competent army really counts.
There has not been carpet bombing of civilian areas, only BH camps in the forests and mountains. Every country has people sympathetic to whatever cause you are fighting, it isn't about competency. The soldiers are well trained, they just lack on occasions the necessary equipment to tackle this particular insurgency.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 4:55pm On Dec 03, 2013
Fighter Pilot: There is difference between political and religious insurgents. Religious insurgents are hard to contain, ask Russia.
Isn't this what we have been saying on this thread since the BH saga started? It isn't about standards of living, etc and how can you negotiate with people who want an Islamic state against the wishes of the people who live there and the rest of the country.

A lot of the successes against BH have been intelligence lead if anyone has been reading the postings these last few months.

The story is BH were dressed in NFA camouflage on this occasion, which would probably explain how they were probably not picked up until it was too late.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 2:16pm On Dec 03, 2013
Being brainwashed about fighting a holy war and creating an Islamic state is one thing, but on the other hand how do they keep the momentum going? Joking aside, they are promised virgins and other rewards to coax them into the continued campaign.

Do you think they are willing to die and not be rewarded by Allah?

Henry120: The terrorists are still there in mali. Didn't you see the aljazeera report a month ago on the azawad rebellion in the north of mali?
Yeah I know. My response was to the assertion that terrorism can't be defeated and I was just explaining what can happen with the right equipment. If the French had stayed and continued the hunt in the mountains as they and the Chadians were doing, they would have abandoned the country.

They only came back when the French left. That is what precision bombing and follow-up action by SF and COIN based troops can achieve. They would have been boxed in and annihilated if the Algerians joined in from the other side.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 1:40pm On Dec 03, 2013
Obrafour: So the desire for great sex is the motivating factor here?.... Anyhow, I think this fight is an Intelligence led fight backed up by drones. There is no front line in fighting terrorists, this wholesale of bombing forests in the name of denying them sanctuary is a flop.
It is what they see as one of their rewards in fighting infid*ls. What are you going to promise a poor, illiterate Jihadist when they get to paradise. More wars?

It isn't a flop, that's why they launched the attack on the airbase because of the serious damage being caused. The problem is the lack of follow-up with the required air assets and ground troops mainly by SF and COIN based troops, although the terrain is very unforgiving that's why air mobility assets and more aircraft with precision laser guided bombs and missiles are required.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 1:24pm On Dec 03, 2013
Fighter Pilot: You can never defeat terrorism even with the best weapons in the world. Follow the history behind Chechnya and you will come to understand.
The people of Chechnya want independence from Russia as they are a separate region. The NE of Nigeria isn't the same.

Look at what was achieved in Mali by France with the right equipment. They insurgents fled to the mountains.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 1:02pm On Dec 03, 2013
Henry120: Terrorism cannot be defeated, it can only be contained. The death of shekau at the hands of the army doesn't spell the end of terrorism. The turks also captured the head of the PKK in 1994 in tanzania, however, that did not end the insurgency in turkey.

The russians have been battling terrorism since 1994 in degastan and chechnya in the south of russia. It shows you the gravity of the problem we are facing. Islamic Terrorism is ideologically based. how do you defeat a person who believes that he is fighting for GOD, and you an enemy of God? It isn't possible to win such a fight.

Indonesia, turkey and russia all have militaries that are incomparable in the african continent, yet each of those nations continue to battle terrorism for over a decade.

Foreign assistance is massively required, if indonesia which has a Trillion dollar economy can accept foreign assistance from the US in funding, training and equipment( read about detachment 88), I don't see why nigeria at (400 billion usd) should refuse it. I'm pretty certain we receive help from the US and Israel in one form or the other, however no were near the scale of indonesia.

In dealing with any insurgency, everything boils down to effective equipment to prosecute your missions. Not just in planes and and MRAPs that have been mentioned many times, but in effective intelligence gathering tools. Equipments which by no means come cheap. That's is why I believe the furore generated over the elbit systems purchase by the government, championed by ignorant sahara reporters and premiumtimes have shown that those two online sources are nothing but slavish political tools.

Foreign assistance from the US, Israel is welcome, but the government has to ramp up our numbers in badly needed air assets and COIN based equipments. I don't see what chad, cameroun and niger can do to help us. It is left to the top brass and the government, especially madam prime-minister to release much needed funds to help our military effectively tackle this problem. The SUPER TUCANOS should come as fast as they can. We badly need them.
We are more or less singing from the same hymn sheet. The situations in those countries that have been mentioned are a bit different in the sense that the community are by and large supportive of the rebel groups and willing to live under their rule or are fighting to create a state for their people i.e. the Kurds.

We already have personnel trained by the Israelis , Americans etc, so that isn't the problem. The issue is the right equipment. You are not going to get foot soldiers coming to Nigeria from Western Nations and the Nigerian establishment won't accept that.

The pressure should be put on the government to expedite procurement of the necessary equipment.

Terrorism can be defeated. Containing it is the first step and eventually the ideology will die out.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by rka1: 12:26pm On Dec 03, 2013
Obrafour: I think the Nigerian army exaggerates the number of BH boys they kill. The numbers are extremely outrageous, if those numbers are to be believed then why are the bandits able to hit back where it matters? I think the army includes civilian casualties to that of the BH dead.
They can fight back because it is an ideology and they have a lot of recruits both from within and without, i.e. Shuwa Arabs, Nigeriens, Malians, Cameroonians, etc. There are a lot of foreign fighters and BH recently called for Islamic Fighters to join their campaign. Added to this is collusion from some members of the armed forces.

A lot of them get killed, but they don't care as they really want their virgins.

Boko Haram declares war on Borno
December 3, 2013 | Filed under: News Update | Posted by: Administrator

borno-boko-war-612x300From TIMOTHY OLANREWAJU, Maiduguri
Maiduguri, the Borno State capital became a war zone yesterday when suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked military formations, police posts and the International Airport.

The Defence Headquaters (DHQ) said 24 terrorists were killed and many were also injured. The military lost three decommissioned jets and two helicopters while two Air Force men were wounded, during the exchange of fire, according to Director of Defence Information (DDI), Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade.

Properties estimated at millions of Naira were destroyed.

The DHQ also announced the resumption of normal flight operations to and from the airport which were temporarily disrupted as a result of the attacks.

Residents said the insurgents came in fortified with armoured tanks. The seriousness of the attacks informed the emergency security meeting President Goodluck Jonathan had with the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and service chiefs yesterday.

Maiduguri has enjoyed relative peace since early June when six Boko Haram insurgents were apprehended by unarmed youths. Since then, there have not been any major attack in the state capitals Residents said, “there would have been heavy casualty if the insurgents had attempted to attack civilians.”

Hundreds of the terrorists invaded the city through the western axis in what residents described as well-coordinated attacks that lasted between 2.30am and about 8am. The insurgents attacked the 333 Artillery Regiment Barracks of the Nigerian Army, the 79 Composite Group of the Nigerian Air Force and police stations along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road. They also torched some petrol stations, fuel tankers, trailers park and a motor park (Tarson Journey) on the same road.

Residents said they started hearing heavy bombardment around the area at about 2.30am. “I live at Bulumkutu not far from the Air Force base. I started hearing sounds like bomb blast and shooting at about 2.30am which continued till this morning. Everybody around my area was awake and terrified because we didn’t even know what was happening. It was later at about 5am that a military helicopter started hovering around our areas and it continued till about 8am,” another resident, who did not want his name in print, told Daily Sun.

A police source said the insurgents were dressed in Air Force camouflage, adding that they were armed with sophisticated weapons including Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). “They operated till about 8am and it was the military fighter jet deployed from Yola, Adamawa State that dislodged them right in front of the Air Force base. It was a heavy bombardment by the insurgents and they would have continued moving into the city if they had not been curtailed. They came with a VVL, an armoured tank and there are women among them,” the source disclosed. Schools, markets and commercials institutions that had earlier in the day opened were compelled to shut down as the government imposed a 24 hours curfew on the metropolis.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Amb Baba Ahmad Jidda, the state government in consultation with the Army decided to impose the curfew on the state capital and its environs. “The Borno State Government in consultation with the GOC 7 Division, Nigerian Army has decided to impose a 24 hours curfew on Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and environs starting from 11am today Monday, December 2, 2013.

“The imposition of the curfew is necessitated by an attack in Maiduguri by people suspected to be Boko Haram members in the early hours of today. During the period of curfew, Borno State Government pleads with all citizens to remain calm and law-abiding until the situation is put under control as the security agencies will do everything possible to maintain lives and property of the citizenry. Only vehicles on emergency calls and essential services are allowed to move during the period,” the state said.

In a statement, spokesman of the 7 Army Division, Colonel Muhammad Dole, confirmed the attacks. “In the early hours of Monday, December 2, 2013, Boko Haram terrorists attempted to gain access to own locations (military formations) in the metropolis. However, troops of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army have successfully repelled the insurgents and inflicted serious casualties on them. The situation around Njamtilo and Maiduguri International Airport general areas are calm and under control,” he said even as he decline further comment on the incident.

An apparently sad Gov Kashim Shettima during his assessment tour of the damaged military and police facilities described the attack as satanic, promising that government will rebuild all structures burnt or destroyed by the insurgents. “We are going to replace all buildings destroyed by the insurgents even if they destroy them hundred times. The good thing is that the Commander of the Air Force base (79 Composite Group) has briefed me that no life was lost, but some servicemen were injured. The Commissioner of Police has also told me same thing. I know we shall overcome this problem and all the satanic ideology of this group in the soonest of time.”

Three military aircraft within the premises of the 79 Composite Group Air Force base as well as other facilities, structures; clinic and offices were burnt down by the insurgents.

Similar situation was witnessed at the 333 Artillery of the Nigerian Army as almost all the structures including offices, sentry, barracks, mess and about 10 vehicles were burnt. The Bulumkutu Police Station and a police outpost at 777 Housing Estate were also destroyed. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) while briefing the governor in the presence of the Commissioner of Police, Lawan Tanko said the insurgents wore Air Force camouflage, adding that he had initially thought they were Air Force men until he later realized they were enemies. “I was even telling them I am the DPO until I noticed that they are enemies. So, I ordered my men to lie down because they were very armed.”

Two residents of a house opposite the Air Force base were also shot dead by the insurgents. When reporters visited the house yesterday afternoon, the family of the deceased were preparing the corpses for burial. A neighbour of the deceased, Bala Mohammed, said the insurgents had entered a patent medicine store opposite the Air Force base and shot dead a young man operating the shop.

“The boy was still sleeping this morning in the shop with his machete beside him when the insurgents entered the shop. They shot him dead immediately and went into the house at the back where they saw a pick-up vehicle loaded with bags of beans. They asked the man to surrender the key to the vehicle but he declined and he was shot. Unfortunately the operator of the chemist was a younger brother to the man with the pick-up van,” he explained.

He claimed the insurgents even observed their early morning (Zubhur) Muslim prayers in a mosque opposite the Air Force base, before they later went into the patent medicine shop and the house to kill the two brothers.

Fighter Pilot: Chief, you will never defeat Boko Haram, unless you swallow your pride and seek a foreign help, but that will not come easy because they might force you to negotiate.
That is where I think you are wrong. They will be defeated in time and foreign assistance is not required. What is needed is better suited equipment to fight the insurgency and I hope after this wake-up call for the government, the necessary purchases will be made. We have the personnel, we just need the right tools.

Afterall, the so called super powers have been unable to defeat the Taliban. The Pakistanis, Indians, Russians, Colombians etc are still struggling with insurgencies/rebels.

And by the way, Islamic terrorists don't negotiate, unless you are saying, throw down your arms, live like you are in the stone age under sharia law etc.

They want to meet their 75 virgins in their version of heaven, so it is not about negotiating, it is about defeating the ideology.

Islamic militants attack Nigerian air force base

Haruna Umar, Associated Press

Posted: Tuesday, December 3, 2013, 2:01 AM
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria - Hundreds of Islamic militants in trucks and a stolen armored personnel carrier attacked an air force base and international airport on the outskirts of a Nigerian city before dawn Monday, officials and witnesses said, possibly leaving scores of people dead in one of the insurgent group's most daring attacks.
Two helicopters and three decommissioned military aircraft were "incapacitated" in the attack, said a statement from Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade, the Ministry of Defense spokesman. He said some army bases were hit.

Twenty-four insurgents were killed and many were wounded along with two air force personnel, Olukolade said.

The state government extended a nighttime curfew to 24 hours in Maiduguri, the city near the air base that is also the birthplace of the extremist Boko Haram movement.

The militants also attacked Maiduguri International Airport, the official said. Olukolade said flight operations were temporarily disrupted but have resumed. International flights to Maiduguri stopped months ago, but domestic flights had continued.
Explosions and automatic gunfire could be heard across the northeastern city from around 2:30 a.m. when the insurgents launched the attack with screams of "Allahu akbar," or "God is great."

The fighting continued until about 7 a.m.

Government and military officials said scores of people may be dead. Reporters saw military ambulances ferrying bodies to the hospital morgue.

Civilians living around the military base, which is off a main road, said they saw bodies with slit throats and corpses of insurgents burning in vehicles.

Olukolade said security forces are pursuing the attackers and urged citizens to report any fleeing insurgents who could be identified by gunshot wounds.

@ Mike ZA,Don't be silly, Nigeria is not losing the war. Why do you think the base was attacked? Because the Air Force has been inflicting heavy casualties on BH. The question you should ask is why were the Air Force caught napping and should have anticipated the attack because of their successful operations against BH.

After all, it happened in Afghanistan when insurgents breached security and killed US Marine personnel and destroyed several Harrier jets and also in Pakistan where several maritime assets were destroyed.

It shows how desperate BH are, but you learn from any set backs and BH will be defeated and then I hope you will be able to show your hand here and give due accolade to our armed forces.

Nigerian Navy plans further acquisitions in 2014

Written by Guy Martin, Monday, 02 December 2013

The first Seaward Defence Boat of the Nigerian Navy NNS Andoni. The Nigerian Navy will take delivery of a number of new vessels next year as it attempts to reduce maritime crime, oil theft and attacks on ships, according to its recently released Strategic Guidance document.

Vice Admiral Dele J Ezeoba, Chief of Naval Staff, said that on assuming office in October 2012, he was committed to repositioning the Nigerian Navy, improving capability for internal security and policing the Gulf of Guinea. As a result, a first Chief of Naval Staff Strategic Guidance document (CNS SG-01) was issued in October last year.

According to Ezeoba, 90% of SG-01’s objectives have been completed. Significant progress has been made on fleet reactivation and recapitalisation, with the availability of operational vessels increasing from 35% to 70% within a year, according to SG-02, released late last month.

Over the last year the Nigerian Navy took delivery of three OCEA patrol boats, three Manta Fast Patrol Boats and two Shaldag patrol craft. Construction is ongoing on two Chinese offshore patrol vessels, one of which will be built in China and the other to be completed at the Naval Shipyard in Nigeria. Nigeria’s naval dockyard is also building a 38 metre Seaward Defence Boat. The Navy is also refitting the NNS Ekun fast attack craft, NNS Ohue and NNS Barama minesweepers and will soon refit the NNS Yola and NNS Brass patrol craft. In addition, three inshore patrol craft will be reactivated.

On the operational side, the Nigerian Navy continued with patrols and reactivated a number of Regional Maritime Awareness Capability Centres and is setting up new sites to improve its maritime domain awareness. Operational successes listed for the previous year up to October 2013 included the apprehension of 33 vessels and 2 278 suspects over oil theft, the destruction of 2 417 illegal oil refineries, 137 barges and 2 032 boats, according to SG-02.

While Ezeoba said that the Navy can be proud of its achievements over the last year, there is room for improvement, hence the creation of SG-02. The Navy wants to clamp down on problems like oil theft, illegal oil bunkering, piracy, robbery at sea and attacks on ships. Ezeoba stated that solving these problems is necessary for Nigeria’s economic prosperity, as it relies heavily on its offshore and onshore oil reserves.

Strategic Guidance 02 expands on the previous document’s objectives, notably improving Navy capacity and domestic and regional security. Short term goals to be accomplished in the next six months include acquiring five K13 inshore patrol vessels, ensuring operational availability of at least four Navy helicopters, establishing a Fishery Protection Patrol Squadron in collaboration with the agriculture ministry, Nimasa and other stakeholders, and improving Navy logistics and training.

Medium term goals (over the next 12 months) include the acquisition of the ex-US Coast Guard cutter USCGC Gallatin, the completion and commissioning of the first Chinese-built OPV and domestic assembly of the second Chinese OPV, commissioning of the second domestic Seaward Defence Boat, completion of the refit of NNS Brass and NNS Yola and the refit of the frigate NNS Aradu, the fast attack craft NNS Siri, Ayam and Damisa. The refit of the fast patrol boat NNS Ekpe, Ekun and minesweepers NNS Ohue and NNS Barama are also expected to be completed in this period.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure the attainment of the objectives set out in this Strategic Guidance 02 in fulfilment of the desired end state of defending and protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity whilst contributing to the economic prosperity and national development of Nigeria,” Ezeoba concluded.

Nigeria27: what are you talking about the girpen is 4th generation
Quite right, it is 4th generation and not 5th. 5th generation Gripen E is being developed to replace the Gripen C/D with the Swedish Air Force and also to replace the Swiss F-5s.

The Super Tucano is also used for COIN operations, even the US Air Force are buying them for this particular purpose. It has the latest avionics and technology for laser guided bombs and helmet mounted displays and so on. You are the one showing ignorance by calling it a world war 2 aircraft.
