Army Says 29 Islamists Killed in Two Battles

17 Nov 2013

Nigerian troops have killed 29 suspected Islamist militants in two days of fighting in the northeast, where security forces are trying to stamp out Boko Haram’s four-year-old insurgency, the military said on Saturday.

Reuters reported last night that a raid late on Friday targeted a Boko Haram base in the town of Bita in the Gwoza hills along the Cameroonian border, where the Islamists have set up camp after being pushed out of semi-desert areas further north.

During the encounter, 20 Boko Haram terrorists were killed, scores of vehicles and 50 motorcycles were destroyed. A soldier was killed and three other soldiers were wounded in the operation,” said Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Dole, a spokesman for Nigerian forces in the northeasterly Borno State.
We are closing in on the insurgents.”

In a separate shootout on Thursday in the Damboa region of the same state, the military said it.
It is seen as the main security threat to Africa’s top energy producer and Western powers fear that it could export militancy as it expands its ties with al-Qaeda-linked Islamists.

That risk was highlighted on Thursday when gunmen kidnapped a French priest working in northern Cameroon, in an area where Boko Haram is known to operate. No one has yet claimed responsibility.
The United States formally designated Boko Haram and the splinter group Ansaru as foreign terrorists on Wednesday, making it a crime to materially aid them.

Since Jonathan declared a state of emergency in northeast Nigeria in May, deploying extra troops to try to flush Boko Haram out, there has been a surge in attacks on civilians, with hundreds killed in recent weeks.

Rights groups such as Amnesty International say hundreds of Boko Haram suspects have also died in military captivity. Nigeria’s military denies abusing captives.

Navy Commends Jonathan for Logistics Support

Article | November 15, 2013 - 7:33am | By Augustine Aminu

President Goodluck Jonathan and the Ministers of Finance, Petroleum and Defence have been commended for their prompt provision of logistics support to the navy to fight illegal bunkering.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Dele Ezeoba, made the commendation in Onne, Rivers, on Thursday.

Ezeoba spoke on the sidelines of the passing out of 1,100 trainees at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School.

He stressed that Jonathan’s commitment and support to security agencies had assisted in reducing oil theft in the country.

He said the navy, in collaboration with other security agencies, had arrested and prosecuted many oil thieves, pipeline vandals and pirates who tried to sabotage the nation’s economy.

``The navy has recorded a lot of achievements in the area of operational capabilities, human resource development and welfare related support services, among others.

``Under my watch, we have reduced to large extent, crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in collaboration with the Army, Air Force and the Joint Task Force contributed by the armed services.

``We are winning this battle and will continue with vigour and seriousness by securing our maritime environment to ensure economic growth and prosperity of the nation”, he said.

Ezeoba said the navy would soon release details of its achievements to the media to enable Nigerians to appreciate efforts made in tackling illegal oil bunkering.

He said the graduation of the 1,100 trainees would complement efforts in addressing security challenges across the nation.

The navy boss said the trainees, who trained in special military skills, would soon be deployed to various formations across the country for internal security operations.

``We decided to train this batch of trainees differently because the dynamics and asymmetric nature of threats locally and globally have changed.

agaugust: nigerian military should give us a few more details about their domestically made equipment without exposing too much specifications to the public, its good to keep our enemies guessing what our nigerian made weapons can do.

south african made weapons have too much details on internet because DENEL and AMSCOR are hungry for money by sales to the world market.

now any enemy can google south african weapons details and plan an operation for attack with high chance of success.

.
A little snippet of further information;

Research activities in the NAF today have equally helped to ensure optimal serviceability of our platforms for more efficient mission accomplishments.”
According to him, “The production of hydraulic diagram for the MI-35 Helicopters and the modification of the airborne electro-optical and surveillance tracking system on our Augusta 109 Helicopters are examples that readily come to mind.”

The NAF R&d Centre in the last one year has been engaging in some activities that are centred on the following, Repair/Replacement of Worn-out GPU Plugs, Reactivation of Unserviceable Aircraft Jacks and Design of Knowledge Management System (KMS).
At the pavilions, each participant displayed their products and services for all to see and the guests were allowed to ask questions or seek clarifications.

Covenant University Develops Software to Check Illegal Arms Possession, Proliferation

November 12, 2013

Covenant University, a private institution, has developed a software that can help to check the menace of illegal possession of arms and its proliferation in the country.

The software is known as the "Radio Frequency Identification (RID) Enabled Ammunition Depot Management System".

It was on display at an exhibition organised by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Research and Development centre to showcase NAF's efforts in equipment maintenance and management, in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the institution, Prof Aderemi Atayero, who presented the product, said the software had a human tracking capability and could be useful to security agencies in the country.

Atayero said the software was developed at the university in August and was the result of the institution's efforts in the area of research and development.

According to him, the technology is already in use at the university to track the movement of staff and other key members of the university community.

In her remarks at the event, the Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson, reiterated the commitment of the present administration to support innovations by the nation's armed forces.

Johnson said that the modernisation and re-equipping of the armed forces were of top priority to the present administration, hence its emphasis on training and re-training of its personnel.

According to Johnson, the acquisition of new and modern platforms for the armed forces and training of its personnel to handle such platforms, clearly explained government's commitment to the armed forces.

The minister said the effort to develop local capacity to maintain some of the platform and equipment was a welcomed development and should be emulated by other agencies of government.

Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, said the exhibition was put together by the reinvigorated NAF Research and Development Centre to encourage its internal mechanism for repairs and maintenance of its equipment and aircraft.

He said that the new approach was adopted to address challenges associated with the rising cost of aircraft maintenance.

According to Badeh, NAF cannot afford to be dormant, it must strive to remain relevant even as the cost of maintenance of its platforms and equipment continue to increase.

Badeh called on other agencies of government and research institutions to collaborate with NAF to achieve its mandate in spite of the dwindling resources allocated to it.

The six commands in the Nigeria Air Force and its Kaduna-based Institute of Technology showcased some of their research works at the event.

The Training Command, Tactical Air Command and the Logistics Command took the first, second and third positions respectively at the end of the exhibition assessed by some experts.

The event was attended by the Supervising Minister of Defence, Mr Labaran Maku, some legislators, service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police.

Other institutions that participated at the one-day exhibition included, the University of Lagos, Federal University of Technology, Minna and the Covenant University, Ota.

The rest included, NigComSat and the Nigerian Air Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA). (NAN)

Nigeria: Anti-Terror War - Caging Boko Haram Is Tough Work - Army, Police
By Kingsley Omonobi, 11 November 2013

Abuja — The Nigerian Army and the police have identified porous borders, scale of terrorist attacks and the capacity of personnel as some of the challenges security agencies contend with in prosecuting the war on terror in the northern part of the country.

The Army on its part declared that the Boko Haram insurgency which has ravaged some states in the north, leaving on its trail destruction of lives and property would have spread to other parts of the country if it had not been caged in the north.

Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Ibrahim Attahiru, Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar and Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade spoke to Vanguard in separate exclusive interviews on the challenges of fighting insurgency in parts of the country.

Army spokesman, Brigadier General Attahiru said: "The entire process of fighting terrorism cannot be over simplified because essentially, it is asymmetric warfare where you talk of asymmetric tactics and disposition and so on. But one thing with warfare is that you cannot just run away from challenges. However, what you fall back on is the kind of equipment you use in executing the warfare. In executing this warfare, it is not just about the weaponry, the emphasis is on the man behind the weapon. Those are the issues.

"Nobody is going to say the entire campaign being executed is a very simple operation. It is quite complicated, but what I can assure you is that in no distant time, it will be all over, because each time there is a breach, we are learning a lesson, carrying out analyses and coming out with better strategies on how to counter challenges of the entire operation.

"Otherwise, may be by now, if you say we are experiencing setback and not achieving the mandate, the terrorists would have gone beyond the North East, they would have spread to other parts of Nigeria but it has been localized to the North East. That should tell you that the Nigerian Army, working in conjunction with other security agencies, is doing well in the fight."

The Army spokesman also explained how the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army was created in the North-East with headquarters in Maiduguri. According to him, "the Division came on stream as a result of the strategic analysis carried out recently regarding the Force structure and the contemporary challenges. The implementation of the Nigerian Army Order of Battle (ORBAT) for 2013 was also considered before the Division came into being. So by and large, the mission of the Nigerian Army is to win all land battles".

Also speaking on the war against terror from the perspective of the Police, Inspector-General of Police, Mr MD Abubakar said terrorism is difficult to fight and "it is not a question of whether the nation is under-policed or over-policed".

The police boss in an exclusive interview with Vanguard argued that, " even if you have the correct number of policemen, there are several factors that come into play when dealing with the challenge. The scale of terrorist attacks and the organization are there, the issue of capacity to tackle the challenge is there, the equipment needed to counter the challenge as well as the fact that manning of this equipment requires training is also there. Moreover, this cankerworm called terrorism is a global phenomenon. There is an on-going war in Mali and don't forget what is going on in Iraq. The Arab Spring is just subsiding, so there is proliferation of arms, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and these are the factors that are key to tackling on-going insurgency. Another thing you must know is that Nigeria has the most porous borders in the world because you cannot say specifically, these are the number of borders, it is either you take Badagry or Banki or so many others.

"Terrorism is not something you can exterminate, and you know that nobody can exterminate crime anywhere in the world. If you are talking of a no crime situation, you are talking of total paralysis and total paralysis means nobody is moving, everything is at a standstill. In the war against terror, show me any country that has fought crime and said it is finished, no more terrorism anywhere. There isn't any country in the world, including the US where they have the best facilities, the best-trained officers and equipment".

He said that in spite of the fact that officers and personnel of security agencies, the police, DSS, the military and paramilitary agencies are dying daily because of their belief that Nigeria must remain united, they will continue to do everything to protect this country.

Adding his voice to the debate on how to finally dislodge terrorists from the north, Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade argued that we will witness massive improvement in the way we secure this nation if members of the public readily volunteer information that will assist the security agencies.

According to him, "nobody can secure any community without intelligence. Without information, security agencies cannot succeed because they will just be making wrong deployments and will be acting in different directions which will not help. Giving information is all that is needed and the security agencies will overcome".

He said, "Once you see strange movements around you, relate it, take the pains to pass the information. With information, security agencies will deploy appropriately and they will do more than you expect".

Olubolade disclosed that the necessary equipment needed to prosecute the campaign are being procured while training of officers to be up-to-date with modern methods was going on and "what is needed is for Nigerians themselves to partake in giving information".

The Police Affairs Minister then tasked Nigerians not to politicize security issues, saying it is not going to help us. "With a lot of activities from the government, political will and determination, and the security agencies putting up their best, certainly we will overcome these challenges", he said

Nigeria doesn't have targeting systems like drones, meaning your artillery range is useless against camouflaged targets 40km to 50km. Answer this: Where was NA tested in combat?...Which combat hardened NA,cause NA has never been to any full blown war?........The list continues 1. Which country between Nigeria and South Africa has sunk a submarine and warship? 2. Which country between the two,has ever been experienced a tank battle 3. Which country's air force has ever been involved in a dog fight and downed jets. 4 Which country has more combat kills(on armour) 5. Which country faced an enemy with SAMs,howitzers, jets,APCs,MBTs and MRLs 6. Which country has more experience/faced with other's equipment/arsenal in the battlefield.....If there's no Nigeria in your answers JUST remove that "combat tested/hardened" words in your post!! Why don't you grow up? Just your comment that Nigeria has never been in any full blown war makes you look really silly. I mean really silly.

You have neglected to read anything posted in reply and continue to repeat the same allegations.

By your Hollywood reasoning, SA will defeat Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil etc. as they haven't been engaged in dog fights, sunk enemy shipping nor been involved in tank battles.

Even countries like Spain, Italy Portugal have no modern combat experience of which you talk about above. Even SA hasn't fought any recent wars and the experienced SADF personnel have long since left.

Americans confirm Shekau death

Posted by Yinka Oni Contrary to the claim by the sect members, the United States of America, on Saturday, confirmed that the leader of the dreaded Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, is, indeed, dead.

Hundreds of lives have been lost to the activities of the terrorist group led by Shekau in parts of North East, Nigeria and other parts of the country.

The Council on Foreign Relations, a top US security think-tank and government advisory, made this confirmation after a thorough investigation.

It said it is apparent that the latest video appearance of Shekau was faked.

Abubakar Shekau in one of his infamous videos. The Army said he may have been killed in July, now the Americans concur.
“In this latest 33 second video, Shekau was even further from the camera and only appeared to speak for just 10 seconds. The latest video, released on Youtube, is perhaps the biggest sham in the history of terrorism media: Latest 10 Second Sham Video of Blurry Ghost of Late Shekau,” the US security think-tank observed.

It said that “this latest sham video clip is very identical to the August video which was also circulated by AFP, “which US Council on Foreign relations discredited as that of an imposter, except it has a black drape over the old background and Shekau’s image appears to have green-light peripheral shine around it, indicating super-imposition.”

The report said that the older video was also of highly questionable authenticity, adding: “It appears ‘Shekau’ did not wish to risk thorough investigation of ‘his’ video clips and hence, he made it as blurry, as distant from the camera and as short as possible. 10 seconds only, enough time to say 5 words and quickly brush his ghost teeth!”

This is coming just as the Nigerian military announced that two soldiers and five suspected members of Boko Haram were killed in shoot-outs in the early hours of Saturday on the outskirts of Kano.

Army Captain Ikedichi Iweha, spokesman for the security forces’ combined Joint Task Force, said the suspects were planning simultaneous suicide attacks in the Nigerian capital Abuja and Kano, the country’s second largest city.

In an email sent to reporters, Iweha said “intelligence available indicates that the terrorists were in the process of finalising plans”.

He said that security forces also confiscated nearly 50 AK-47 rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Iweha said that security is being tightened in Kano, amid fears that insurgents are fleeing to the city from the three north-eastern states currently under emergency rule.

7 killed in Nigeria’s Kano state: military
Souce:Xinhua Publish By Joseph A. Cambra Updated 11/11/2013 3:07 am in World / no comments

At least five Boko Haram fighters and two soldiers were killed during the Nigerian military’s latest clampdown against the militant sect in the northwestern state of Kano, the military said in Lagos on Sunday.

Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, army spokesperson in the restive northern state, said in a statement that the Joint Task Force (JTF) had killed five suspected terrorists in the city’s metropolis on Saturday.

He added that two soldiers lost their lives during the early morning operation in two houses at the city’s Hotoro Danmarke and Brigade areas.

According to him, intelligence reports had indicated that the militants were in the process of finalizing plans to carry out simultaneous suicide attacks in Abuja, the country’s capital city and Kano.

Items recovered during the operation included two AK-47 rifles and large amounts of ammunition.

The military spokesperson added that the security outfit had been achieving positive results from its operations in the state.

The Nigerian military has stepped up fight against the extremists in virtually all the northern states in Nigeria.

More than 150 Boko Haram suspects in northeast Yobe and Borno states were killed more than a week ago.

The Boko Haram sect poses the biggest security threat in the West African country. Hundreds of people have been killed since it launched the insurgency in 2009.

Nigeria now producing armoured vehicles

November 10, 2013 by Oyetunji Abioye 27 Comments

Armoured vehicles

AS interest in armoured luxury cars rises among the upper class, some Nigerian auto firms have intensified research work on the armouring technology.

Already, an indigenous automobile manufacturer, Proforce Limited, has commenced the production of Armoured Personnel Carriers.

Proforce said it had sealed a pact with Defence Industries Corporation and some para-military organisations for the production.

The Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, is currently facing criticism for allegedly forcing the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to buy two armoured cars for her.

Wealthy Nigerians and top public office holders import a number of armoured vehicles.

The Managing Director, Proforce, Mr. Ade Ogundeyin, said in a statement obtained on Friday that his firm was currently working with the Defence Industries on the APCs, just as he stressed it was equipped to armour other categories of vehicles.

He criticised the idea of importing armoured vehicles, saying it did not make economic sense for Nigerians to continue to import what was available locally.

“There is no need for government or anybody to import bulletproof or armoured vehicles. It is a waste of resources.

“Why import at very high cost when there is capacity to produce better vehicles at comparatively lower prices locally? This is an issue I hope the new auto policy will address.”

Ogundeyin said the armouring materials were resistant to AK-47 gunshots and assaults with improvised explosive devices, stressing that the vehicles would run on special flat tyres that could endure several kilometres of journey even when deflated.

The Proforce boss also expressed support for the recently developed auto plan, describing it as one of the best policies of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

He said if fully implemented, the document was capable of boosting industrial activities in the sector and contributing towards the achievement of government’s targets for the economy by 2020.

He aligned with the thrusts of the new auto policy, which were to encourage investment, enhance technological development and revive production activities in the industry.

Ogundeyin said, “This is a laudable plan which is capable of transforming the local industry. The impact will be felt in many ways, including the establishment of many small- and medium-scale support industries, job creation and increase in capacity utilisation.

“But a lot will depend on whether government has the will to fully implement the policy, especially the area that concerns their agencies or departments buying locally made vehicles. Another critical area that requires firm action on the side of government is the one that introduces stiffer tariff structure for fully built imported vehicles.”

Air Force Upgrades Research And Development For Fleet

Posted by: Channels Television Posted date: November 08, 2013 In: Local | comment : 0 Comments

The Chief of Air Force, Standards and Evaluation, Air Vice Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, has declared that the Nigerian Air Force has achieved a reduction of cost in the management of its fleet.

Brandishing some of the innovations by the Air Force, he told journalists that the Air Force could now also ensure that its ‘fleet is constantly deployed in support of other security agencies in maintaining security in the country’.

Some of the innovations include the hydraulic accumulators for two of its helicopters which hitherto cost 6,000 Dollars to procure each piece. However, in collaboration with tertiary institutions and research institutions in the country, the same product is now produced at the cost of 10,000 Naira (about $62.5).

Other innovations include mobile GPU systems for powering aircrafts and helicopters while on assignment.

The Air Force said it would continue to improve on its research and development such that the technologies and innovations could be exported to other African countries and reduce reliance on more developed nations.

Army has restored peace in Bama - Commander

The Commander of the 202 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Bama, Borno, Lt.-Col. Adamu Laka on Thursday, said peace has been successfully restored in the town after series of operations against suspected Boko Haram militants.

“This is because we have carried out series of attacks on suspected hideouts of Boko Haram militants and we have been able to destroy their bases and kill many in gun battles.’’ He said.

He pointed out that part of the successes recorded was the killing of one Momodu Bama, a suspected second-in-command of the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.

“The residents, who were hitherto scared of collaborating with security agents, have started coming out with useful information.

“We have recovered large number of arms and ammunition in hideouts in Kelani, Izza and Bula Kadi villages,'' he said.

He, however, faulted reports on alleged killing of 40 persons in Bama by suspected Boko Haram militants last week, saying the incident took place in Gulumba, a remote community in the local government area and not in Bama town.

He said the figure was highly inflated as the number of victims was not up to 40 as reported.

An opinion of a true un-blinkered Nigerian.

Kudos to Nigerian Army on Boko Haram insurgency
Written by

Permit me to use your widely-read newspaper to commend officers and men of the Nigerian Army over the manner in which it has been able to reduce attacks by the Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Although some people might be saying there are still pockets of deadly attacks by the sect, but we must all know that it is as a result of the gallantry of our soldiers that the attacks have been significantly reduced.

Boko Haram leaders are wicked souls and they don’t want anything apart from destruction. It should also be noted that the war against terrorism is one against a conventional enemy that has a particular location.

This war is more of a guerrilla warfare which is based on the tactics of hit and run. When you ask military men who are versed in the art of war, they will tell you that this is one of the hardest methods of warfare.

As a result, we must all encourage and commend our gallant officers for doing such a wonderful job.

Boko Haram leaders don’t mind if the whole of the country is turned into a war zone.

I also want to commend the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, for establishing another Army formation in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

It is widely known that Borno is the operations headquarters of the sect, and with the new Command, the Army has taken the war to the sect’s backyard.

Talking about ambush didnt your fellow countryman say NA never retreat or run from a fight they would rather die then abandon there mission. How hypocritical. shocked
It must be painful to have nothing to say instead of the tripe above.

Why We Established Army Languages Institute – COAS

By: Bernard Tolani Dada on November 7, 2013 - 2:35am
.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika yesterday gave reasons why the Nigerian Army established the Nigerian Army Languages Institute (NALI), Ovim .

Speaking at the opening of the maiden Nigerian Army Education Corps Education Summit 2013 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, Ihejirika explained that the involvement of Nigerian army in various international peacekeeping operations demands Nigerian army to be thorough in languages.

“The involvement of our troops in various peacekeeping operations in the world and the sharing of our borders with French speaking countries are clear pointers to the need of these languages.

“The NALI which is the first of its kind in Africa, is expected to offer such language programmes as French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Portuguese among others”, he stressed.

According to him, the Institute will serve as a centre for exchange of information in the study of foreign languages and research centre in teaching and learning of foreign languages.

zaandrew: I am still not sure if that is a large scale exersize?

Really. How many forghin army personal took part in this last exersize

That photo was uploaded 2012 and has nothing to do with african winds.
All sections of the armed forces train and re-train regularly at their various ranges. It is what armies etc do. This includes simulations at state of the art facilities.

Nigeria has 48 systems but only 16 remain in service though, but a lot of "military people" say the remaining ones are in storage.
So much for your FACTS. Jut face it, you know nothing of the Nigerian Armed Forces and equipment apart from what you read online, which in most cases is laughable. Anyway, we prefer it this way as there will be a lot of shocked faces, especially in the southern hemisphere.

zaandrew: Let me put it this way. When was the last time nigeria had a large scale milltary ecersize with focuses on covenstional war where your Tanks, IFV arty extra could be used?

Next nigeria may not have fought a convesniol war but it has never been at peace.

Last. M23 rag tag rebel force? They a dissplined, well trained, experianced milltary force. They used Tanks, arty, Anti aicraft guns, had standized uniform, held phiyscal terrortory, used radios and were a dangourus threat.
There are regular training exercises. Just because the armed forces don't regularly carry out photo shoots doesn't mean there are no exercises.

FACTS PLEASE!!! The SANDF can turn into an "African beast slayer" within a year, with help of the local defence industry. Currently the SANDF can hold back any sub-saharan African country.
Mr Hollywood. You seem to think you are the only ones who can re-arm/re-strategize in a short period of time. You have an inflated opinion of the current SANDF. Talk to me about the SADF of yesteryears, I will bother to engage you. Now that is a FACT.

Boko Haram: 270 insurgents killed, as Army destroys camps, hideouts in Borno

Written by James Bwala - Maiduguri
Tuesday, 05 November 2013 23:19

The 7 Division, Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, on Tuesday said, its troops were able to trace the camps and hideouts of Boko Haram insurgents and eventually destroyed them thereby inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorist elements.

Unconfirmed reports from the area of military operations in the last one week revealed that no fewer than 400 Boko Haram insurgents suffered severe blow from military gunfire with 270 allegedly killed in gun battle.

But the military in Maiduguri said that casualty figure should not be of concern now as operations were ongoing to ensure that insurgency is brought to zero level in Borno State.

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major-General Obidah Ethan, on Tuesday, expressed appreciation to the people of Borno State for their cooperation and understanding in the continuous manhunt for the insurgents within and around the state.

General Ethan also urged the people to continue to be resilient and supportive as the troops face the daunting task of fighting insurgency.

Ethan stated this in a statement signed by the spokesman of the 7 Division, Lt. Col. Muhammadu Dole and made available to journalists in Maiduguri following aggressive attacks on insurgents by troops of the 7 Division, supported by men of the 79 Composite Group and other sophisticated platforms from the Nigerian Airforce.

The statement also explained that the aggressive operations conducted by the troops from 5 Brigade at Gamboru Ngala axis and 21 Brigade at general area of Bama Kelani road recovered huge success on Monday, November 4.

It read: “During the operations, several Boko Haram terrorists’ vehicles were destroyed. Some of the vehicles destroyed were containing improvised explosive device (IED) meant to be detonated in some towns and villages within Borno State.”
It recalled that previously, the insurgents around Gamboru-Ngala, Mafa, Dikwa and Marte roads arbitrarily blocked the roads and caused havoc to motorists and adjacent villages.

“Bama-Kelani-Pulka-Firgi general areas were hitherto infested with incessant insurgents attacks and lootings which caused fear and anxiety among the populace,”the statement said.

Can't afford training? You're saying this while exercise Seboka is ongoing? FOO.L.... I don't think you've seen this. READ this quote out loud not forgetting to add OOOOO after every word "Early reports from sources in the area
indicate that the action was successful,
with the Rooivalks’ TACTICAL APPROACH
THROUGH THE CLOUDS taking the M23
defenders by surprise and their rocket
fire being accurate enough to disperse
them and destroy one of the 14.5 mm
anti-aircraft guns"
Why don't you follow the sequence of comments instead of calling me names? I was commenting based on the article from your racist South African brother about the state of the SANDF regarding cuts that were made limiting training. Don't shoot the messenger .angry

I see you are in Hollywood land again with regard to CAR grin.
