Exactly, how can a sane man compare Nigeria's military with Kenya's? We have better hardware, more personnel, more battle experience, and more.
I'm even more worried about his statement, when he said all the president we had are generals, outside GEJ, that makes me questions his education and searching capacity.

Precisely. We told them years ago that Ethiopia Militia like Nigeria cannot be called a modern army. You have 500M dollar budget with 0.5M work force. Do they even get paid a salary.

Look at Nigeria militia...nearly same budget as kenya....with 360,000 troops...compared to barely 30,000 in kenya. How can you call that anything but a militia.....do they have training, the discipline, the well maintained equipments and proffesionalism to be called an army?

And you see the Nigeria militia get beaten by cattle rustlers, islamic jihadist, thugs, kidnappers and boko haram. The entire country is so insecure you need to armed escort.

You can also count how many times they have been under military dictatorship - in fact apart from Goodluck Jonathan...all their presidents are generals.
As old as you are, you don't have sense at all, your parents failed you in raising you well, and you failed your parents for not learning well in school, Old man.

Your expectations and mine are on completely different LEVELS.

The NA is probably close to 200, 000 personal. And we can project to assume we have probably 150, 000 combatants with at least 100,000 on active duty on multiple fronts across Nigeria.

How many Armoured vehicles on different variations fo we need certainly not hundreds but thousands..

200 MRAPS is literally a drop in the ocean.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH AT ALL.
More are still coming, we have hundreds of APC and MRAPs acquired over the years, before this one and I believe more will still come.
We literally signed a defence deal with Russia and Turkey recently, we are on the right track.

Kenya is being affected directly with what happening in Ethiopia..If you didnt know Kenya shares tribes with Ethiopia just like we do with Somali and Tanzania...
Its like naija going haywire..its would affect Ghana..So let us wail about our stuff an please shut up grin
Never, we have nothing in common, we speak only English, we don't speak the same native language, or share tribes, we don't share borders, and we have different mentalities there are two countries separating Nigeria and Ghana,so stop saying whatever happens to Nigeria will affect Ghana.
Spend more time in reading Africa maps.

We took delivery of over 100 armoured vehicles last night. Dongfeng.
It's seems the Nigeria Army has finally settled with the Bigfoot MRAPs.
100 bigfoot MRAPs, and 100 piece of the Dongfeng MRAPs.
A good number, I must confess.

You must be very young and inexperienced, your approach is indicative of your background.

Using historical analysis 2/3 decades ago to make a projection in the HERE and NOW.

I want you to think about , what the Chadeans did in two weeks when invited into Nigeria to help fight against Boko, what they did in Mali, all in very recent times.

Consider Thier international reputation as the toughest fighters in Sub Saharan Africa. Even with very rudimentary equipment if you ask me.
What are you talking about? This is very confusing, I'm lost here at this point.
I'm telling you about the conventional capabilities of Nigeria military, and you are saying something different entirely.
How are the Chadian troops faring against Boko Haram/ISWAP? They are getting hit too by the terrorists, this is a country that also lost it Chief in command/president in the hand of rebels, stop overrating Chad, they are nothing without France.
I think you are the inexperienced one here, when it comes to defense, if you can't use historic records as a judgement.

You have moved away from the comparison proposition which was made between the Ethiopian armed forces and the Nigerian armed forces .

It's that comparison, I QUESTIONED. With the suggestion that the Nigerian armed forces would not be able to any better against the Tigray armed forces.

So what exactly is your point huh huh huh Considering what the core discussion is.❓❓
Truth to be told, the tigrayan force will not fare better against Nigeria military, using conventional tactics, they will be smacked.
Ask the Chadian troops when they invaded Borno, they learned a lesson they will never forget in their lives, we nearly took over their capital, only to be stopped by president Shagari, this is Chadian troops that humiliated Libya, but couldn't gain the same success against Nigeria.

People in glass houses should not throw stones.

You don't win wars solely with your air force. But you can wiin a war without an Air force. Just like you don't claim and control territory, just with your air force.

Boko ,ISWAP , Bandits are hit and run characterised insurgents relying on gorilla tactics. They are fluid and don't have permanent locations.

The Tigray have clear and defined by territory. And they are not doing hit by and run. They be are seizing territory and and are about to enter the capital of and seize it.

They have conventional heavy weaponry and have seized thousands of Ethiopian army prisoners of war.

Boko haram have light weaponry and we are STRUGGLING can't even say we are winning.

The Ethiopian army has over 400 T72 tanks and over 2000 HUMVEES. Do you think under the circumstances the NA would have done much better.

I DO NOT ,
Boko Haram would have long be decimated, if they were using conventional tactics, they tried that rubbish in 2014/15 and they paid dearly to it, till they switched back to the unfamiliar guerrilla warfare, that's what weaken them at first, if they were strictly conventional force, it would have been easier for Nigeria military to finish them once and for all.
Not this hiding, and hit and run tactics they are using now.

Ethiopian military has been virtually non-existent. To say many people on here rated them highly speaks to the level of ignorance some Nigerians like to place others above themselves.
Someone here once said Ethiopian military is far better and stronger than Nigeria military, because they won against Italy, despite being occupied by the Italian for 5 years.
I can never forget that.

same reason you should be go to the social media platforms of the military to vent your anger on them,
Most times I laugh when some key board warriors leave who dey 'hurt' their fragile emotions dey Yan rubbish against the military for here. Like are we the military?

If you wan drag military abeg go straight to their handles and do the needful. Stop Ranting here.
Useless army,
Bad army,
If your civilian govt were half as effective as the military, we would long have been in a safer country today,
What stops the police from calming the situation, or the democratically elected state govt from immediately calling Abuja to call their boys to order,
Northerners keep breeding like animals,
Southerners have zero confidence and respect for the police,
Is it the military that will enforce family planning
Or tell the police what to do.?
I tire for people here, they have nothing to contribute to improve the situations in the country, you will only see them crawl out of their caves when they see bad news against the military, why not vent your angers against the military on their pages or to the HQs?
They only found their voices here on nairaland.
Cowards.

This is not funny, just read and pass, stop digging out what happened months ago, it's boring, and you are boring.

There has been an increase in the number of NAF night attacks on ISWAP/JAS in recent weeks. And these attacks are mostly targeted at large gatherings of the enemies. I love to see more of this especially in the lake Chad axis.
That's the effects of Super Tucano, and some low life people here who think they know more better than the military hierarchy, called it over hyped turbo prop aircraft, not worth the money spent on it, run away from such people, don't argue or waste your time with them.
