The capital raise is a forced one by CBN. I hail uncle T. He has safeguarded shareholders from undue dilution from a low priced offer as best as he can.

This is the good side to it if it can be pulled off.

The higher the RI price the better for the consequential OS. Which is good for all parties going forward.
The fund to achieve and defend the higher RI price is cheaper and better than having a lower RI price and it will be recouped from the SP at the right time. This is my calculation of what is currently happening.

I blame regulator for this happenings. If they were actually correct on the reasons for the share capital raise for banks, then they ought to change or increase it even now cos the raise was based on a $ at N700.

i dont think Opec would regulate any price in the event of more production from other players instead i see Opec opening the tap much more to force price further down till pain set in for everybody.

i kind of agree from a devaluation repricing perspective but it is looking far fetched with the gloomy economic outlook (near time), so i am thinking it might still take some time before it materializes (12-24 months). although a total dividend payout of N6-8 (for 1-2 years continuously) might help the cause

I recall my post above on people bullish on Aradel. This was when it was above 600. I still believe it got highly over priced at NASD due to the tremendous level market sentiment created.

The issue of the uncertainty surrounding the proposed acquisition of Shell assets alone should make one cautious of the stock. Even though of recent there are indications of wavering on the part of government, probably showing the level of lobbying, and "Ejoor Sir", going on. You wonder how a regulator that withheld consent because they assessed the companies acquiring the assets as incapable of managing the assets will now say they are reconsidering. Can the companies acquire that competency overnight?
