Hello,Ts been a very long time here. I guess we are all doing good? I suddenly remembered this educating thread as i intend to start up my catfish business. Initially, i was into hatching which i have abandoned for almost 2 years now but now,i am planning to rear them to adults. I hope to get maximum support from ogas in the house: @robonski15 and odas as it has always been here while i share my experience as the journey continues. Thanks in advance

You can get a smaller collapsible pond to fit in, what about drainage of the water?

Please, I have a detached room(bq) with 2 windows which is currently unoccupied. Can I buy the plastic ponds and raise the catfish in the room with the windows always left open for ventilation ? Or must it be outside under direct sunlight. I am asking because we don't have much space outside.

You can raise fishes in house(preferred) what is the size of the bq in feet.

Same result will be achieved using either pond. But i prefer concrete pond over collapsible pond because of solidity..

hello sir, i saw ur post late you are highly welcome.. you will need 380 to 400 to raise a fish to maturity, depends also on ur feeding pattern and the feed u using..

Saline water is not compulsory as long as the male milt or (sperm) is much, though it is much used as the chances of finding a very fertile male is 50-50.. fry mortality depends on so many factor like PH, poor water management, excess feed, bad egg contamination etc.. next day death might be a result of poor water, or PH..

just had a terrible accident last night due to heavy rain fall in my area and I lost all my 1k fishes...am completely confused and devastated right now...woke up and found all my fishes lifeless on the ground in the morning due to the collapse of the fish pond

So sorry for the loss.. truthfully speaking the ponds am seeing in that picture is not strong enough for its size, its a 6 inch hollow block which is not ideal for that size, i guess there was no pillar constructed.. i have a client friend facing the same challenge, he used 6 inch and all pond collapse at interval.. I pray the pond hold itself together my sister..

madan don't mind them... Most of them are theory farmers.... You are very correct provided your water exchange is up to 90%. ... My experience so far I never see where person go stock pile feeds for fishes.....as they grow they feed less... It's a sygnoid curve for goodness sake..... Increase at increasing rate and later increase at decreasing rate. Oga o teacher dn plenty pass the student..... We are all still learning sha.... As knowledge is a continor.... Don't ever say someone is wrong ... Thanks

Never encountered such problem before, the situation i have encountered was leakage from the base of the pond, the only thing we could do was to wrap the entire pond (inside) with tarpaulin then the leakage stopped.. The affected area can be re plastered then test first if there is any type of leakage. Give us feedback sir

when you sorted which size did u put in the tank and concrete
