BusinessAir Peace CEO, Allen Onyema Delivers Lecture At UI Alumni Association, Condemns by Rockyheight(op): 6:59pm On Dec 07, 2019
By Henry Odeh

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the fastest growing airline company in Africa, Barrister Allen Onyema has charged Nigerians on good and quality representation of their fatherland wherever they find themselves, urging the youths especially to shun all forms of discrimination or segregation against one another on the ground of ethnic background adding that ethnic nationality is a script sold by divisive elements to divide Nigerians against one another for political gains which he described as “destructive for nation building.”

Barrister Onyema who is an Alumni of the prestigious premier University of Ibadan was the guest lecturer at the university’s 2nd stanza of its 2019 Alumni Association lecture yesterday which was tagged ,”Nigeria And The Rise And Rise Of Ethnic Nationalism.”

The business mogul cum philanthropist highlighted the dangers of propagating ethnic nationalism as against promoting oneness and faith in one another as Nigerians regardless of tribes or religion adding that no nation on earth has thrived on the backdrop of ethnic nationalism.

He charged Nigerians especially the youths to always place merit above ethnic or religious sentiments in all their dealings and to ensure that the knowledge acquired from the institution is made manifested in their daily lives.

Earlier on, the President of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association worldwide, Professor Elsie Adewoye while addressing the gathering noted that Barrister Allen Onyema has been a reputable ambassador of the prestigious premier University owning to his countless achievements and his global recognitions in his philanthropic services to humanity.

Barrister Onyema while addressing the students present earlier on noted that discriminatory tendencies of any form should not be allowed to thrive as destroys every fibre of collective coexistence adding that Nigeria’s diversity was supposed to be a blessing but divisive elements have turned it otherwise by turning Nigerians against themselves for their personal gains noting that it is imperative to begin to promote oneness in a multiethnic national structure to achieve the objective of nationhood as against ethnic nationalism.

He said that education is all encompassing and should not be acquired for the mere purpose of certification rather, it should serve as a tool to refine the whole being into a better person for the purpose of becoming good and productive members of the society.

When pressed by on his reaction over the allegation of his indictment by the US for money laundry, he thanked Nigerians for their love and support so far, affirming his faith in Nigeria, adding that Nigeria is a big country where everyone can achieve success without being involved in any societal vices.

Other members of the university present include the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Idowu Abel Olayinka, the Deputy Vice (DVC) Administration as well as Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) Academic.

CrimeWoman Who Forced Ex Into Sex At Machete-point Sent To Psychiatric Hospital by Rockyheight(op): 6:22pm On Nov 11, 2019
Montana woman accused of breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s home with a machete — and then raping him — was sentenced this week to 20 years in a state psychiatric hospital, according to a new report.

Samantha Ray Mears, 20, was charged in June 2018 with entering her former beau’s home while he was out, local outlet KPAX reported.

A Montana woman accused of breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s home with a machete — and then raping him — was sentenced this week to 20 years in a state psychiatric hospital, according to a new report.

Samantha Ray Mears, 20, was charged in June 2018 with entering her former beau’s home while he was out, local outlet KPAX reported.

When he returned, she went up to him from behind, wielding a machete, according to court documents obtained by the outlet.

Mears demanded that her ex get in his birthday suit and get on the bed, the documents say. He reportedly told authorities he didn’t feel he could escape without being hurt by Mears.

Then, according to the documents, Mears removed her pants, crawled on top of the man — and had sex with him. She’s also accused of biting him on the arm as they had intercourse.

Afterward, Mears — still armed with the machete — ripped a piece of trim off the wall and intentionally urinated on her former flame’s bed, according to the documents.

She initially was charged with aggravated burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful restraint, among other counts, the station reported.

She was sentenced Tuesday to the custody of the state Department of Public Health and Human Services for the offense of sexual intercourse without consent — as the world “rape” is not used in Montana code.

The judge ruled that Mears be placed in “an appropriate mental health facility.”

PoliticsAn Open Letter To Bola Tinubu: The Man Who Has Betrayed His People For Personal by Rockyheight(op): 8:41am On Jul 14, 2019
Dear Mr. Tinubu,

Being ambitious is a very good attribute. Being sagacious in the pursuit of the avowed ambition is even more desirable. You are an ambitious man...you've been a Senator, a Governor and now an APC leader.

In the course of your political pilgrimage, you have employed cunning and sagacity to achieve some aspects of your ambitions:

You spearheaded the removal of a president...
You installed your own president...
You installed a vice president...
You install governors in the Yoruba Region...
You install Lawmakers...

And these are great achievements, really...in your world, that is...(sic)

It has come to the fore however, that your installation of political officers is for the singular purpose of installing yourself the president of Nigeria in 2023. This is ambitious...and well within your rights.

Despite your sagacity however, it is really disheartening to see you chase after an ambition that couldn't be achieved in practical terms. Almost everyone else reads the times, checks the numbers, the structure and almost total powers you've ceded to your presidential installations.

Dear Sir, I am sorry to really say this to you Sir, that the more powerful you became, the weaker you left the Yoruba People! Every single political move of yours, has strengthened you immensely, but has weakened the position of the Yoruba Nation!

What does it profit a man, to possess all the wealth and riches, but lose his kingdom? What really is the value of a powerful king without a kingdom? What is the benefit of being the most influential Yoruba man who's ambitions leave the Yoruba weak, vulnerable and untenable?

Dear Mr. Tinubu, despite your prowess at installing political officers, I could tell you for free here, that you would never be allowed to install yourself as the president! Everyone knows this except your royal self! It's pathetic to say the least.

Your ambition to be the president of Nigeria, has compelled you to be silent in the face of humiliations, killings, insults and other unprintable actions of the gods of the caliphate towards the Yoruba people, and the rest of the South at that. You have been reduced to a lame, crippled and silenced king with mind boggling wealth but no respect whatsoever from those you helped make king.

Sir, much as millions do not like nor admire you, I sincerely do. Those that do know, actually know that you have the capabilities to make things happen, and you have the grace to bless your lieutenants.

You however lack the most important ingredient: the love and absolute dedication for the Yoruba, and the advancement of the Yoruba Nation. Dear Sir, you absolutely lack that.

In fairness to the one you installed, it is his people FIRST! Why then shouldn't you put the Yoruba Nation first too?

Dear Mr. Tinubu, I make bold to tell you this day, that you have been so blinded by your personal ambitions, that you have brought the Yoruba Nation to her heels...and yourself to a caricature.

Dear Sir, the Yoruba Nation is under siege by marauders from the Sahara. The Yoruba Nation needs the cunning and the sagacity of the best among them. The Yoruba Nation needs to roar once more like the lion it was and put a stop to the national insult against them. The Yoruba Nation needs leadership now! But your current ambition is a stumbling block to the rise of the Yoruba as a people!

Dear Mr. Tinubu, it is time you took a step backwards and count the cost of your presidential ambition to the Yoruba Nation! If truth be told, you would serve better as the Premier of the Yoruba Nation as an autonomous region than the president of Nigeria! Becoming a, Premier of the Yoruba Nation is a far more realistic ambition than the president of a Nigeria that might not even be in 2023!

I am told you wish to be like the late sage, Chief Awolowo. The great man placed the Yoruba Nation FIRST in all things; he was the Premier, and served the Yoruba Nation excellently. Borrow a leaf from his book, Sir. Rally the Yoruba Nation as an autonomous region. Let go of this almost impossible ambition to displace the Caliphate entrenched in Abuja; Nigeria as we know it is no more despite all efforts to deny same. Recalibrate your ambition, and become a premier. Place the Yoruba Nation FIRST, and you shall really be called a great man!

The Premiership of the Yoruba Nation is well within your reach; the presidency is a mirage you would never see. Rally the Yoruba Nation...and save the region from the invaders you inadvertently invited.

Yours in the Service of the Autonomous Regions,

Àrákùnrin Baron Roy

PoliticsBuhari Getting The Change He Didn’t Bargain For by Rockyheight(op): 10:28am On Jun 27, 2016
BEFORE last year’s presidential election, no one thought it necessary to ask president Muhammadu Buhari, who was then candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), how he hoped to work the magic of achieving his promised exchange rate parity between the naira and dollar. It was, however, apparently sufficient for him and many hopeful others that his unorthodox financial and econometrics models soared on the wings of nostalgia. He offered no real plan, nor explained the economic dynamics by which that parity would be procured, nor yet did he take into account the eventful intervening years since parity last reigned. All he said was that once the killer, corruption, was destroyed and discipline established, nothing was impossible, not even an exchange rate that incongruously widened shortly after he was overthrown as military head of state. Thus, after assuming the presidency last year, he still felt and spoke of the possibility of some sort of exchange rate parity.
But once he encountered the country’s dire economic problems and saw and also felt its magnitude, his voice began to weaken and his steps falter. From bemoaning his advanced age and the inevitable weakness it brought with it, to accusing the immediate past president in particular of completely wrecking the economy, the president slowly moved away from talk of parity to sustaining the status quo. Finally, after loathing any talk of devaluation consequent upon the fall in national revenue, and describing the naira as the proud symbol of the country’s patriotic and nationalistic outlook, which everyone must embrace, the president has consented to market forces determining the naira’s realistic exchange rate or value. President Buhari had finally met change, and change has worked its wonders on him.
If anyone was astonished by that clear volte face, it was because they were yet to hear him speak candidly and honestly about the economy and the modern principles that undergird it. In his numerous interviews with the Nigerian media to mark his one year in office, the president responded to a question on the kind of economic advice he was receiving by declaring that most of the time, the economists spoke above his head when they explained why the economy was experiencing turbulence. He would submit to their advice, he said plaintively, because both the problem and the economists had overwhelmed him and he was wary of being seen as the obstacle to the country’s economic revival and transformation.
Before the presidential election, President Buhari also mocked those who suggested that the price of fuel could not be lower than it was. He claimed to know what to do to bring the price of fuel down and relieve the common man of his anguish. One of his former ministers when he was head of state, Tam David-West, a professor, worked the arithmetic and announced gleefully that anyone who said the price of fuel could not be brought down was insincere. After he assumed office and made some appointments, including unwisely retaining the petroleum portfolio in his office, the president bounced confidently around that once his abracadabra was concluded, fuel price would come down. Not only did it not come down eventually, it contradistinctively rose so steeply that few ever thought any president or government, let alone one that flaunts its pro-people credential so garishly, could raise the price of fuel per litre from a punishing N86 to an unbearable N145. The price hike was one of the things economists called for, and were sure would work. Now the president is touting the change as salutary and inevitable.
As recently as his last media chat and thereafter, the president had promised to make the Niger Delta a living hell for pipeline vandals and regional activists and militants interrupting the flow of crude oil sales. He would treat them the same way he was treating Boko Haram insurgents and achieving results, he fumed. A few weeks after the last of such threats against the militants, especially against the Niger Delta Avengers who had brought crude oil export down by more than 700,000 barrels per day, his government opened negotiations with the militants, and even appeared desperate to get every miscreant in the region involved. Opinions were divided in the Niger Delta on the propriety of negotiation, but a significant part of the country and the rest of the world thought the government could not win the creek battles it appeared eager to court and wage. And so to peace talk, which he had forsworn, went the president, a changed and considerably chastened man.
The enduring paradox of the Buhari presidency is that he came into office as the chief agent of change; but he is fast becoming the one change is changing. President Buhari is still holding out in many ideational redoubts, but if that paradox is real, and if the observations of many analysts are not far-fetched, he will be unrecognisable by 2019. Only last week, he still spoke intransigently of the Biafra agitation that has lathered the Southeast. Its campaigners, he sneered, were not born when the civil war raged and so did not experience the privations many victims had to endure. Agitation is cheap, the president seems to conclude, when you campaign from the comfort of your rooms. It remains to be seen whether he will enter into discussions with pro-Biafra agitators or not if the agitators up the ante somewhat disconcertingly.
In addition, during his campaigns, the president ridiculed Nigerian leaders for allowing the refineries to run down. Once elected, he would look into the matter of the refineries and wave his magic wand yet again. He had done it before, he said exuberantly, and could do it again. To prove he was serious, the president in interviews within and outside the country suggested he knew so much about the refineries and was a leading participant in building one or two of them. He gave the impression it was a cakewalk to build refineries. But after one such interview, and without directly referring to the president, an incensed ex-president Olusgeun Obasanjo roared that anyone who said he could rehabilitate the refineries was merely engaging in wishful thinking. On his own, the rather burdened Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, has vacillated on the topic in a manner that sees him torn between the president’s fantasy and the economic reality and nuisance of decrepit, money gobbling machinery.
Finally, during his first anniversary media interviews, the president responded to a question on ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s national conference and the imperative of restructuring. He barely concealed his disgust, not to say his fury. He had not looked at it, he said dismissively, promising it would end in the archives where it truly belonged. Like his other viewpoints on key national economic and political matters, the president is fairly anachronistic. While it is true Dr Jonathan used the national conference issue as a red herring, the structural problems the country faces have defied solution outside the framework of political reengineering. Dr Jonathan reluctantly, and perhaps mischievously, yielded to the convocation of a national conference. There is nothing to show that President Buhari would not reluctantly also yield to a national conference or its variants. Once he does, his change, begun with floating the naira, would become complete, making him the putative master of change transformed by policy summersaults into the servant of change.
But what is truly worrisome about the president’s Damascene experience is not his seemingly easy surrender to change, the subsumption of his old and unworkable ideas under the modern and practical imperatives of new economics and new politics, but the subliminal spin off. The problem is that he appears to be ruling the country by yielding very reluctantly and unmethodically to ideas that war against his instincts and constricted experience rather than ruling by a careful and structured architecture of modern ideas designed for today and the day after tomorrow. The country would profit from robust and well-grounded ideas of how to govern a modern state. Instead, the president has instituted ad hocism on such a horrifying scale that he has no impression he should be laying the foundation for Nigeria’s future and democracy, a responsibility his predecessors also woefully, if not criminally, shirked.

Politics: Oyo Privatisation Of Schools: Time To Make Common Sense By Omolere Omoetan by Rockyheight(op): 11:57am On Jun 18, 2016
Re: Oyo Privatisation of schools: Time to make common sense

The Oyo state government shocked the country recently with its intention to privatise public schools in the State.
Considering the public outcry that accompanied the announcement and the governor's position on the inevitability of the policy, the die is cast between the government, the state chapters of Labour and Teachers' Unions. No doubt, this policy brought with it a sense of great disbelief among critical stake holders in the educational sector.

Much of that initial indignation came largely from those who were shocked that Senator Isiaka Ajimobi was willing to sell off public schools, a system that produced him. This anti-people policy which started as a thought may quickly turn to the potential fate that will befall most indigent pupils and secondary school students if those that matter keep quiet about it. Consequently, this is why the action embarked upon by the unions, so far, is most commendable, in my opinion.

There is no better way to articulate a bad policy. No matter how hard the government tries, a Fish will never fly. A bad policy has no other name. Blame the opposition, tarnished the names of whoever, distort history, spread lies as much as you can, it won't change anything.
The people can see through the many subterfuges of the Ajimobi led APC government. The opposition has nothing to do with the current travails of the government, on the contrary, it is self inflicted because the policy is devoid of common sense. If the governor is seeking whom to point accusing fingers at or cast aspersions on,he should look in the mirror.
It is most unfortunate that at this time in the history of Oyo state when all hands should be on deck to move education to the next level, the government came up with a policy bereft of critical thinking and analyses. While in most states of the federation efforts are geared towards providing education for all, Senator Isiaka Ajimobi is striving to provide for few.
It is a truism that once our citizens are educated, they have a future and it is this future that will birth a decent, safer Oyo state and by extension a secured Nigeria. Why the Governor will not understand this beats ones imagination. He fortunately has an opportunity to do away with this policy and heed the advise of the people who just want common sense to prevail.
An adage amongst the Yoruba's says " Orisa bi o legbe mi se mi bo se ba mi" ( if a diety cannot improve my life, it shouldn't make it worse"wink. If Senator Isiaka Ajimobi cannot improve on the educational legacies of late chief Obafemi Awolowo, late Chief Bola Ige and Senator Rashidi Ladoja, he, by all means, should not make it worse.
Oyo state, in today's ranking, cannot be listed among the top 10 states educationally. Implementing this policy will not only serve to further lower the state's ranking, it will also increase the number of school drop outs.  It is gratifying to note, however, that the state governor has asked to be forgiven for the manner with which the policy was announced. I advise he goes a step further to  apologise for even considering such an outlandish idea in the first place.
Of course, the promoters of this system failed to see what effects this hideous policy would have on the already impoverished people of the state. School fees will be introduced (even though they preached free education during the last campaigns), teachers whose schools are privatised may lose their jobs or are retained on a lowered salaries ( even though the government says otherwise).
What happens to those who have put in long years of service ? What will happen to majority of the kids whose parents would not be able afford the fees that will be introduced by these new owners who could be profiteers?
The government is blaming the rejection of the policy, as expressed through street protests, on the opposition parties in the state. This attitude is merely insulting the intelligence of the people. It infers that the people, on their own, cannot discern the implications that the implementation of the policy will engender.
As it is now, public school enrolment is dwindling in the state as more and more kids are denied education because of the harsh economic realities. To pursue this dastardly policy will only make a bad matter worse.
I counsel the prospective buyers to expend their funds on alternative investments as the present Governor will not be there forever. Government goes and government comes, policies change. There will be another king who will take the education of his people serious. Any school taken over now by phantom investors will be reversed. A word, they say, is a enough for the wise.
If the argument by the government that privatising schools will enhance efficiency, I encourage them to look into all the government-owned establishments that are in dire need of effectiveness with a view to introducing the Public Private Partnership (PPP). I suggest the Office of The Governor. That office desperately needs capable minds !
I ask the governor : Which Oyo state does he want ? One which is dominated by proud and educated citizens or one populated by uneducated urbanites ? I implore the state government to rethink this policy. All those who object to this policy, like myself, are not enemies of the government. We are just making common sense.

PoliticsGoodluck Ebele Jonathan: A True Democrat: by Rockyheight(op): 11:56am On Jun 02, 2016
" For men change their rulers willingly, hoping to better themselves, and this hope induces them to take up arms against him who rules: wherein they are deceived, because they afterwards find by experience they have gone from bad to worse."
- Niccolò Machiavelli

The above quote, which undoubtedly captures present realities in Nigeria, was from the book titled "The Prince" written by Niccolò Machiavelli in 1505.

Nigerians, it seems, have been duped with the promise of utopia through lies and propaganda by the Buhari APC-led government. No sooner had they taken over the reins of government than Nigerians began to realise that they had been hoodwinked by sweet and vain words.

All they wanted was the exit from office of former President Goodluck Jonathan whom the opposition succeeded in demonising. However, since 29th May 2015 when President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office, he has sufficiently demonstrated that he is never going to be a better alternative to Goodluck Jonathan.

Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a rare breed politician who, by Nigerian standards, can be described as an abnormality. The former President is a true Democrat. Perhaps, that was why he lost the last elections.

I am not sure Nigeria ever had a President who was so maligned as Goodluck Jonathan. In the guise of criticising his government, they called him all manner of names. The opposition leaders and their agents not only abused and spread so many hurtful lies about him, the Presidency, under him, was also desecrated by them. They labelled him all manner of appellations : "clueless","buffoon" and many other derogatory nomenclature.

The All Progressive Congress, which was the opposition party, spun lies on a daily basis back then about the Jonathan administration. Like a Lamb being led to the slaughter, Goodluck Jonathan did not utter a single word against his opponents nor used the machinery of state to harass them because he knew their criticism were ad-hominem: seeking to destroy him as a person rather than condemn his policies.

Even now the lies persist : " A billion Dollars has been recovered from ex-ministers of Jonathan and another Jonathan aide returns a Trillion Naira" etc. Yet, with so much money recovered from supposed looters, President Buhari has curiously gone seeking loans to fund the 2016 budget. From inauguration, the Buhari administration not only put the wrong foot forward, it has evidenced a "leaner" approach to governance.
In celebrating Buhari's first year in office, what are his noticeable achievements ? Perhaps his signing the 2016 budget ? Should the hue and cry about it be considered an achievement?

If one is to be honest, the All Progressive Congress government, though in power, is still on the default opposition mode blaming the past administration after a year gone. They were aware of the problems besetting the country before the 2015 elections and told us they can sort them out. It was even reported of the present minister of Power, who stated then that it ought not take a government that knew its Onions more than six months to fix the power situation. Alas! He himself has been in charge for a year now and the only noticeable "achievement" has been the increased charges for electricity consumers despite the worsened power supply.

You can vehemently disagree with someone over an issue or his politics. However, to attack their character and integrity at every opportunity is a quite cowardly. The opposition had a field day because Goodluck Jonathan was a democrat. I doubt if the present resident at Aso Rock will suffer the opposition gladly like his predecessor did. If there was anything the Otuoke-born politician did wrong, it was allowing the APC deceive Nigerians.

The former President respected the Rule of Law. He never interfered with the judiciary. State machinery were not used against perceived enemies or to persecute the opposition. Elections were conducted under him and when the opposition won, he was usually the first to congratulate them. Under this new dispensation, no election has been successfully conducted. A new phenomenon has been introduced into the nation's electoral vocabulary : " inconclusive elections" mostly when the opposition were in the lead. In the days of Goodluck Jonathan, elections were conducted with reasonable degree of efficiency. Now, one year down the line, Nigerians look back with nostalgia at the recent past.

In the areas of the Economy, Agriculture, Power, education and infrastructure development, the former President left a mark which his detractors will find difficult to belittle no matter how hard they try.
The then opposition used the power of the media, assembled men and women who, before then, were held in high esteem to mobilise the poor, illiterate, jobless and disgruntled youth to stage protests against Jonathan at the Freedom Park in Lagos and Abuja. Where are these men today ? Where are the Wole Soyinkas, the Femi Falanas and many others who were always throwing jibes at Goodluck Jonathan ? Or is today's Nigeria the Nigeria of their dreams ? Is it now not obvious that the protests against Jonathan, mostly in Lagos then, were sponsored ? If what Nigerians have been through from the inception of this administration is anything to go by, there should have been civil disorder by now. Particularly the increase in pump price of Petrol : Buhari's one-year anniversary gift to Nigerians.

On President Buhari's endless trips abroad : They argued that the President had to travel a lot to repair Nigeria's battered image. Question is : Who were those responsible for the country's poor image abroad in the first place? Was it not the ruling party when they were in opposition? Are they not the ones who went to foreign countries telling lies about Goodluck Jonathan? Ironically, what they themselves damaged is what President Buhari is ostensibly seeking to repair.

A former president, at a time, once claimed that he had some intelligence about President Goodluck Jonathan training snipers to cut down political opponents. These were blatant lies from the mouth of a person who should be regarded as a father of the Nation.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will be ranked as one of the best Presidents Nigeria ever had when posterity judges. The man is a true Democrat. If anybody who worked under him abused his trust, such person(s) should be dealt with in deference to the rule of law. Let it not be that the man, Jonathan, is to blame for everything that has gone awry in Nigeria as if the country was a haven of bliss before he became president.

If anyone is hoping Nigeria will make headway during this administration, such a person is stretching his faith beyond reasonable limits. You cannot gain power through deceit, lies, high level propaganda, maintain it through same and hope to succeed. The reality is that Nigerians will have to suffer the next four years for being so gullible.

PoliticsRe: United States Disappointed With Buhari’s Visit by Rockyheight: 9:45am On Jul 27, 2015
Am not in the least disappointed, I have always known that Buhari will amount to nothing. If you have attempted to be a president of a country for three times consecutively, and you got it on the fourth. Try one would expect you hit the ground running. But what do we have. With Buhari, he still does not have an idea of how to start governing.

Wow! Over 200 delegates and the media was awashed with just 32. And with over 200 the Nigeria business community was not involved what a shame. Nigerians on one chance.
PoliticsInvestor's Will Come If They Will Make Profit Not Minding Boko Haram. Okorocha by Rockyheight(op): 8:54pm On Jul 25, 2015
I just heard Rochas Okorocha on channels TV, he said investors don't go to a country because they love the country but to make profit. That investors will come to Nigeria if they are sure they will make profit irrespective of the activities of Boko Haram.

My question is that do these foriegn investors value money more than their safty or is it that Okorocha the imo state governor has given an insight to the fact that the present government may not resolve the boko haram matter in the immediate.v

Hasmos:
@Op, You are wrong. Its only 2/3rd of the senate members that can impeach him. Your analogy is wrong in the sense that the mode of election is different from the modalities of impeachment.
Thanks for educating the op.

MyMouth:
And then his real problem would start! That time buhari would be forced to take action! This is not the tambalwal/PDP thing where the north/ south west supported him against a minority President. Buhari might have vowed to remain natural in the whole issue because they are all in apc, but trust me, if Saraki moves to PDP, that would be war! Everything would be thrown at him! Anyway saraki sef go rather beg then have that happen. The guy wise too na!
Nothing can happen to saraki's presidency in the senate,as long as he does not lose his seat from his constituency and maintains his relationship with pdp he can never be removed. Apc can't have the two-third needed to up set him. If he is trying to make peace with buhari he is just been civil. Buhari had better wise up and forget party politics. For saraki and dagora has come to stay. It will hurt is government to keep bickering with these men.

PoliticsDid Ajimobi Really Conqered?? by Rockyheight(op): 11:50am On Jun 08, 2015
Dripping in celebratory Champagne after his supposed re-election and swearing-in last Friday, May 29th, 2015 as governor Of Oyo state for another term, Senator Isiaka Ajimobi will have afforded himself a moment of pride and reflection. However, a mere moment is all he can sacrifice before turning his attention to the litigation against his victory at the election petitions Tribunal.

Though his Media Adviser, Festus Adedayo has given us an insight into how Senator Ajimobi might have conquered the myth that defies common sense as to why a first term governor who had performed may not be re-elected, he however did not explain how a governor who obviously did not perform could have eviscerated the much talked about myth surrounding the second term jinx.

In his own words: 'The major factor that gave Ajimobi the victory of April 11 was his audacity to be different and his temerity not to do an about-turn when he was demonized by the opposition for daring to be‎ different". I cannot help but agree with Adedayo's assertion. Ajimobi was truly different. How a governor who had plunged the state into debt, squandered over 74 billion Naira of the state's allocation of the excess crude oil funds in four years while civil servants and pensioners are owed months of salaries and gratuities, with an education system on the verge of going down the precipice anytime soon as with other critical sectors of the state, yet he was re-elected .

Senator Ajimobi's victory should not only be opened to scrutiny, but also worthy of study. How a clearly anti-people, self-seeking and wasteful administration would have gotten re-elected beats imagination and common sense.

Even more instructive than the above was the conduct of the election. Findings have revealed that the 2015 gubernatorial election was the most fraudulent in the annals of the pace setter state. It was in this light that the Accord gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Rashidi Ladoja decided to query the conduct and supervision of that election. To say that Senator Rashidi Ladoja has justifiable reasons to go to court will be stating the obvious.

Irrespective of the support Dr Adedayo claims the governor enjoys, the question to be asked is that did the people of Oyo state actually voted for Ajimobi or was the governor simply a beneficiary of gross incompetence as exemplified by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Oyo state ? With the avalanche of evidence against INEC and governor Ajimobi, one is forced to wonder if Oyo state INEC was truly incompetent or if it wasn't a deliberate act of certain individuals who acted in a knowing manner to sabotage the will of the good people of Oyo state.

Dr Adedayo admitted that on election day, he saw a different and unique quality in Ajimobi, his principal. A coolness and calmness hitherto unknown. Could this sudden trait have been a result of one who was assured that he was going to benefit from a mal-adroit performance of the Oyo state INEC headed by Mr Rufus Akeju?

There are indeed many questions begging for answers which one hopes the Elections Tribunal will find answers to.

The mood in the state, for those with discerning minds, has not reflected the assertion that the outcome of the April 11, 2015 governorship election indicated the wish of the people.

Since the Governor is now referred to as the jinx breaker, who knows if he would be breaking  another myth by the time the tribunal is done with its work.
