Nollywood Actress, Tamilore Martins Ojo popularly knowns as ‘Sisi Eko’ has advocated that any man found guilty of committing rape should have his eyes plucked out! She submitted further that since it is the eyes that got them ‘aroused’ after seeing their victims, the sighting organs should therefore be removed. The Thespian speaking on the possible ways to reduce or eradicate rape in the country stressed that the federal government should legislate a law to see that anyone found guilty of the dastardly act should have their eyes removed. In addition, she revealed that her passion for the entertainment industry has been her driving force despite the numerous challenges facing the industry. She said she got her big break in the movie industry in the Year 2018 when she produced the movie ‘Sisi Eko’ and she has since been so called by her fans all over the world. The actress revealed all these while featuring on a weekly radio show, Parrot Xtra Hour on Radio’ anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State’s Oluyole 98.5 FM Ibadan, the state’s capital recently. When quizzed about her embarrassing moment in the industry, she said “I remember I shot a movie titled Omo Ekun, it was the story of a notorious armed robber, two weeks after the movie was released, I went to the market and a woman saw me and started shouting, ‘thieves have entered the market and I also ran and she asked me why I was running, that aren’t you the thief?”. That was when I realized that she was referring to the movie production where I played the role of a thief. I felt so embarrassed and I had to educate her that I was not a thief that it was a movie, make believe that we did”. The actress used the occasion to shed more light on her alleged relationship with the late governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi saying it was the handiwork of rumour mongers that were bent on tarnishing her image. She reaffirmed that she did not have any intimate relationship with him. She said she only met the governor and the wife when she was given an award by the Oyo state government for her numerous achievements in the entertainment industry. The notable actress also took time to appeal to the Engineer Seyi Makinde led-government in the state to help build a film village in Oyo State saying it will make it easier for them to shoot their movies saying that this would save them the embarrassment of going to beg landlords and house owners to allow them to use their apartments to shoot movies. “By building the film village, the governor will be boosting the internally generated revenue of the state and it will attract more tourists to the state. The Nollywood actress also revealed her passion for Journalism saying it runs in her veins, that she loves entertaining people and the Journalism profession brought the best out of her. She said she had to drop her Journalism career as a result of her love for acting saying she has been acting, singing since her secondary school days. She equally used the opportunity to deny the notion that most Nigerian actresses use the industry to promote promiscuity saying that “It is a big lie; I do not use the industry to promote promiscuity”. She revealed that she has always been a shining example in the industry and that she tolerates no nonsense from the male folks. She, however charged all young women looking up to her as their role model not to be dissuaded in the journey of life. She charged them to put God first and be the best in whatever profession they find themselves adding that they should not to live fake lives. She later went ahead to pay glowing tributes to veteran actress, Late Bukky Ajayi saying she was a source of inspiration to her when she joined the industry. https://www.sunrisebulletin.com/index.php/2020/12/31/any-man-found-guilty-of-rape-should-have-his-eyes-plucked-out-nollywood-actress-sisi-eko/

Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, wife of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, who recently lost her husband, today re-mphasized what we all know her for. She was at her arrogant best castigating the state government for not calling to condole with her on the death of her husband. At her residence today, she was seen angrily berating the state government, and particularly Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Deputy Governor of Oyo State, of not calling to commiserate with her on the death of her husband even though Engr Olaniyan told her he actually called her twice but she didn't take the calls. In response, she retorted " I don't take calls from numbers I don't know " adding that she is a politician's wife and that the Deputy Governor should have sent her a text since she didn't take his call. One would think a woman who is in mourning would restrain from careless talk and conduct but not Florence Ajimobi. If she wanted us to think she was in pain over the death of her husband, we now know better. How does one explain that today, when the late former Governor was buried, in Ibadan, Grandex Super Market owned by Mrs Ajimobi, opened for business ? Not even a drop banner was placed outside or anywhere to show that her husband, who she loved so dearly, passed on. It is shocking that Mrs Ajimobi wants to force others to mourn her loving husband whom she didn't. Below is a recipt from a transaction from Grandex Supermarket at a day her husband was buried:

....... Alleges Akeredolu Of Inducing State Legislators With 10Million Naira Each To Impeach Him. The embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State Agboola Ajayi has alleged that the governor of the state Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has perfected plans to illegally impeach him. This was contained in a media release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor Babtope Okeowo and made available to sunrisebulletin.com It will be recalled that the deputy governor recently defected to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP. Read full details of the media statement below Illegal Move to Impeach Ondo Deputy Governor The attention of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Agboola Ajayi has been drawn to the illegal move by the embattled Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu to impeach him through illegal and unconstitutional means. The illegal impeachment move would be carried out through financial inducement of members of the Ondo State House of Assembly to the tune of ten million naira each. As the moment, Ondo State House of Assembly complex has been besieged by men of the Nigeria Police, while parliamentarians that are known not to believe in the charade are being prevented from entering the complex. We wish to state that the deputy governor is a tested politician of note, who is not unprepared for this type of kangaroo and infamous move from the desperate and drowning governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and his group. By joining People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi has not committed any impeachable offence. He has only exercised his constitutional right of freedom of association. Section 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) provides as follows: “Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular, he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any association for the protection of his interests.” For the avoidance of doubt, we state unequivocally that the Governor and his allies do not have and cannot muster the requisite majority in the House of Assembly for the removal of the Deputy Governor under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 in any free, fair and transparent process. We remain undaunted in the move to throw off the combined weight of those kneeling on the neck of Ondo State. Our state shall not be allowed to suffocate. At the appropriate time, the people of Ondo State shall decide the right person, who will serve as the arrowhead of the bid to save the state from the nepotistic clique kneeling on her neck. I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a leader but a youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989, I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit. They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct?".He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu. They kept quiet while the Yoruba Leaders affirmed that Awolowo never promised to follow the East into secession. What he said was that if the Igbo were "driven" out of Nigeria the Yoruba would take it seriously and reassess their own position. Igbo Leaders DID NOT CONTEST this version. Then Chief Bola Ige threw in the clincher! "Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal?" he roared, and continued: 1. At Independence Awolowo offered a joint government between the NCNC and AG, with Zik as Prime Minister and Awo as Finance Minister. Awo and Zik "were still negotiating" when it was announced that Zik would be President in a coalition with NPC of the North. The East then collaborated in destroying the West and sending Awolowo and his leutenants to jail! 2. What of the 1965 elections which the West and the East agreed to boycott? We met all night and reached agreement about 3am on the day of the election. In the morning, while the Yoruba boycotted the election, the Igbo went to vote 3. After the 1979 elections Yoruba (UPN) and Igbo (APP?) Leaders were still at the negotiating table for a coalition when to their surprise, an announcement was heard that the Igbo (APP) had agreed to a coalition with the North (NPN) 4. After the 1983 elections, 1979 repeated itself. Not giving up, Awolowo reached out to Azikiwe again for cooperation. Talks started and they met in Benin where Awo pleaded passionately that only a collaboration between The Igbo and the Yoruba could save Nigeria. They didn't reach agreement but promised to meet again. Before the next meeting, the Igbo had again teamed up with the North. Uncle Bola paused and then continued "we can go on and on. So how dare you accuse the Yoruba of betrayal? How many Igbo have been killed in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo (he mentioned other Yoruba towns)? You have your businesses in the West and went to Western schools. Yet you count the Yoruba as your enemy. You get killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria etc and have your goods looted yet you consider the Hausa/ Fulani your friends. It's your choice. If you want to be slaves for ever, we can't help you" I had never been so scared in my life. I thought the roof was going to fall. There was a pin drop silence and no Igbo dared interrupt Uncle Bola Ige because he was telling the truth. The Yoruba Leaders ended the meeting at that point and left. I hope Chief C. O. Adebayo's memoirs will give more details of those exchanges. Now to make three points from all this: A. The Yoruba have been stretching their hand across the Niger for a handshake for a long time. The Igbo refused to take it for a long time until recently B. Many Igbo Leaders of the 70s, 80s and 90s deliberately perpetrated the legend of Awolowo's role betraying them into the civil war and his role in prosecuting the war, to rally the Igbo population behind themselves. The Igbo agreed on Yoruba hatred than on any other issue. So it was the fabric that held them together for a long time C. Time heals all things. Many Igbo reading this will be hearing for the first time that their leaders of old knew for a truth that Awolowo did not break his word to Ojukwu as alleged. And to think of it, EVEN IF OUR PARENTS QUARRELLED, SHOULD WE THE NEW GENERATION CONTINUE THE SAME WAY?. ITS TIME TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE THE HANDSHAKE ACROSS THE NIGER WORK FOR THE SAKE OF OUR PEOPLES AND NIGERIA Copied from "FRIENDS IKOYI CLUB 1938" Forum posted by Adenike Marinho, a Medical Doctor. |
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon Agboola Ajayi was on Saturday prevented from leaving the government house with one of the vehicles attached to his office worsening the crisis between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy. Four over four hours on Saturday evening, Ajayi was barred by policemen from leaving the government house for his personal residence within Akure, the state capital over the allegation that he has perfected plans to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the rival People’s Democratic Party(PDP). The Deputy Governor who had planned to travel to Kiribo, in Eseodo Local Government Area of the state for the formal defection to the PDP from APC was prevented from leaving the governor's house by the policemen led by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Salami Ajayi who was flanked by two members of the House of Assembly, Mr Festus Akingbaso and Rasheed Elegbeleye was taken hostage for hours at the Governor's house gate despite the fact that he enjoys immunity under the Constitution of Nigeria. The security officers led by the Chief Security Officer (CSO) told the Deputy Governor that he could not move his vehicles out of the government's house because it was late. He said the Deputy Governor should come back on Sunday if he wanted to remove any of his vehicle outside the government premises. The Deputy Governor however insisted that he would not leave the gate back to his official quarters unless they allow him to remove his official and personal vehicles out of the government's house. The two gates to the government's house was under lock and key while the stern looking policemen were positioned at the gate to prevent the Deputy Governor from leaving the premises. The Deputy Governor, the lawmakers representing Idanre and Akoko Northeast constituencies were left at the gate of the government's house for more than four hours. The Deputy Governor, however said he wanted to remove his official vehicles out of the government's house because he no longer feels secured in the premises. According to him, suspected political thugs have been detailed to attack him and vandalised his property at the government house once he declared for the rival political party. The Commissioner of Police however said he took the decision because the Deputy Governor has perfected plan to dump the APC and he has no right to go to PDP with APC’s vehicles. His words “we are not saying you should not go out. Since you are defecting, even your letter was brought to me in my office this evening that you are doing it (decamping) on Monday. What government is saying is that you cannot go out with official vehicles. This is politics, I am not saying it is right. his is government house, the governor is the one talking, give me few minutes, let me talk to my boss.” However, the Deputy Governor expressed disappointed with the conduct of the Commissioner of Police and the men posted to the government house. He said the conduct of the police boss is unbecoming of a senior police officer. Ajayi said “I have tried all constitutional and acceptable means to prevent this crisis. You are being used by the governor to deprive me of my constitutional right I am highly disappointed that a policeman of your caliber can be used like this.” “I personally paid for this vehicle. You should not have put yourself in this mess. Let me tell you, you cannot repeat what happened in this state in 1983 because Ondo State people will resist you and your and your emperor with everything.” https://www.sunrisebulletin.com/ondo-state-deputy-governor-held-hostage-in-government-house-over-fears-he-plans-to-dump-apc/

The government of Oyo State said on Sunday that it rejected the 1,800 bags of rice meant as Covid-19 palliatives by the Nigeria Customs Service because they were truly bad and unfit for consumption. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, who equally serves as a member of the Covid-19 Task Force, indicated that any claims to the contrary was a disservice to humanity and attempt at endangering the lives of the people in the state. “No government that is worth its name would agree to serve its people with food items that are infested with weevils that are clearly visible to the eyes,” the statement read. The statement read in full: “On Friday, April 24, members of the Food Security sub-committee of the Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force embarked on an early morning meeting that lasted close to three hours. “The meeting was to review the report of the technical team that had been conducting tests on the 1,800 bags of 50kg rice presented to the state government by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in respect of Federal Government’s Covid-19 palliatives. “The Committee eventually invited the Media, after coming to a conclusion that more than a majority of the 1,800 bags were not fit for human consumption as they had been infested with weevils that freely move about on every of the bags kept at the storehouse in the Secretariat, Ibadan. “The weevils were clearly noticeable as each or the warehouses was opened. Television cameras were allowed to film the bags of rice just to show the clear reason why the bags were being returned. “A letter that was co-signed by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Commissioner for Special Duties and the Executive Adviser on Agribusiness, was also prepared for onward delivery to the Oyo/Osun Command of the Customs which supplied the rice in the first instance. “The state government neither intended to dramatize nor politicise the development. It was just out to state the facts as they are: we cannot serve our people expired rice and replace hunger with another disease. “The Executive Adviser to the governor on Agribusiness, Dr. Debo Akande, who addressed the media clearly stated that if the Customs could muster other bags of rice in good condition, the state would readily receive such. “But the immediate reaction from Customs, Oyo/Osun Command was a bit comforting as it passed a message to the state government that the bad bags of rice must have been picked from the wrong store. We also got confirmation that Customs was ready to immediately send in 600 bags to replace the bad ones and that representatives of the state were free to immediately come for inspection. “The state’s team that went for the inspection, however, returned another sad verdict: at least 30 perc ent of the 600 bags promised as replacement were also infested with weevils. “To our surprise, statements started flying to town, detailing confusing messages. “We wish to place on record that the statements credited to the Customs Service were at best a poor colouration of the truth. “Besides, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, which commented on the matter, was merely dabbling in what it knows nothing about. This is not about politics and political grandstanding. “The Customs claimed that the Special Adviser on Security, Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni (rtd) was part of the team that inspected the rice. That’s a white lie. “The team that inspected the rice while at the Customs warehouses came from the State Operations Coordinating Unit (SOCU) domiciled in the Ministry of Budget and Planning, while the sub-committee on Food Security principally resides in the Ministry of Agriculture. “The sub-committee took its time before it came to the unavoidable conclusion that the bags of rice be returned. It has nothing to do with political correctness that some could wrongly ascribe. A state that is trying all it could to secure palliatives for at least 120,000 residents would not readily reject 1,800 bags of rice if the reasons are not compelling. “We wish to advise the Customs to desist from statements that do not edify the Service, because it would amount to clear betrayal of public trust for an elected government to sanction the release of expired and infested food items to residents of a state.” https://www.sunrisebulletin.com/why-oyo-rejected-customs-covid-19-palliatives-rice-govt/

By Henry Odeh Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has disclosed what he did in isolation in order to become negative of the coronavirus. The governor had announced that he was positive of the disease and went into isolation. He got all-clear and announced he had become negative on Sunday night. But speaking on phone with an Ibadan based private radio station, Makinde gave detailed account of his time in isolation and how he was able to test negative after earlier testing positive. Maintaining that he remained asymptomatic, Makinde said he only put in efforts to boost his immunity and used his time in isolation to regularly exercise on the treadmill. In boosting his immunity to overcome the virus, he said he consumed Vitamin C, lots of carrots as well as blackseed oil mixed with honey. He consequently urged all residents of the state not to panic, saying that local solutions existed to boost immunity and overcome the virus. “My very good friend and brother, Dr Muyideen Olatunji is the one in charge of the Primary Healthcare for Oyo State. He came to me and said, look, I am going to send to you this blackseed oil, it boosts immunity. So I mixed it with honey and took one teaspoon in the morning and one in the evening. “So, there are local solutions to boost immunity. Our people should not fret. Just as I have been able to get the virus out of my system, so will it be for majority of our people,” Makinde said. According to Makinde, his days in isolation also offered him an ample time to reevaluate his programmes and policies for the state as well as how to handle the socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 on the state. “I have lost a little bit of weight which I think is good. When you are in isolation, the tendency is just to watch television and eat, I was eating amala. But I was also using the treadmill. It has also been a period to reflect and look at the programmes, policies and the things we want to do for the people of Oyo state and also reflect on how the COVID-19 is going to affect us socially and economically,” Makinde added. Makinde, also on Monday, promised the commitment of his administration to ensuring that no citizen of the state dies from contracting the virus. Speaking during the opening of the 100-bed Infectious Disease Centre at Olodo, Ibadan, which is meant to serve as isolation centre in the state, Makinde said what was more imperative was for residents of the state to adhere to social distancing and hygienic practices. While announcing that he had taken over as head of the Oyo COVID-19 task force, Makinde described as jobless those who criticised him for handing over headship of the task force to former Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Professor Temitope Alonge. He said his decisions in relation to tackling coronavirus in the state were informed by advice from medical experts. “We are all in an uncharted territory so we may not be 100 percent perfect but I want you to continue to give us your support because we are here to work for you and we are here to ensure that no life is lost to this pandemic. Our measures are all work in progress. So, where we see any need for improvement, we will work on improvement. “Let us keep observing social distancing, good hygiene practices. They told me that the virus itself is fearful such that washing of hands with soap and water destroys the virus. “Some jobless people have been talking about who I should hand over to whether it should be a Professor of Virology. I am not a Professor of Virology myself. When the experts speak, the people in positions of leadership only need commonsense. They have a room there where they cross pollinate ideas, discuss and challenge themselves and come up with the best course of action,” Makinde said. Speaking further, he emphasised that he would not declare a total lockdown until the state government had all the needed palliatives and had the data to ensure that the right persons get the palliatives. “We have been very deliberate in not directing a total lockdown until palliatives are in place. A major challenge for us is the fact that we need to cut out the middlemen, and we also have to ensure that those who actually need the palliatives are those who get the palliatives,” Makinde added. https://www.sunrisebulletin.com/breaking-makinde-discloses-secret-behind-his-covid-19-rapid-recovery/

By Henry Odeh Just In: Oyo Assembly Passes Amotekun Bill Into Law, Lawmakers Appears In Amotekun Outfit At Plenary The Oyo state house of assembly lawmakers took many by surprise on Tuesday as all members of the 9th assembly were adorned in 'Amotekun' outfit during its plenary as the house finally passed the long anticipated Oyo State Security Network Agency Bill 2020 into law. The Oyo assembly while deliberating on the report of the committee that was mandated with harmonization of various memoranda received during the public hearing of the bill stated that the bill will ensure peace and stability which will in turn guarantee speedy economic development in the state and region at large. Sunrise Bulletin recalled that the Oyo State Security Network Agency Bill otherwise called 'Operation Amotekun' is to give operations of the security agency (Amotekun) which was earlier described as an executive arrangement a legal framework and backing to guide its activities. The house has however allayed all fears and concerns from all quarters concerning the bill by stating that it is mainly targeted at curbing unabated crimes and criminality emanating from banditry, kidnapping, and armed robbery in the state and not against any particular ethnicity or religion in the country. The Speaker, Rt. Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, who could not hide his excitement after passing the bill into law stated that the law will be a responsible outfit for rapid development in terms of agriculture, infrastructures, and in terms of peace and stability in the state economy. "The excitement is in knowing that this bill is the beginning of intense and comprehensive security for Oyo state and for the southwest region as a whole. "This outfit will be a very responsible outfit for rapid economic development in terms of agriculture, in terms of infrastructures, in terms of peace and stability. "So we are optimistic that the southwest and Oyo state are on the path of fast and rapid development," he said. By Henry Odeh The long anticipated Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed operation Amotekun has been officially launched in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital today 8th day of January with the aim of providing adequate security for the south west region as a compliment to the statutory security provided by all the Nigerian security outfits. The host governor of the launching Engr Seyi Makinde, the executive governor of Oyo state while delivering his brief address stated that if a mighty man faces its fear headlong even fear would vanish which was why the governors f the southwest are taking the bull by the horn by the official launching of Amotekun. Governor Makinde stated further that as governors of these states it is their priority to ensure that all residents and visitors within the boundary of the region can carry out their legitimate business activities under a secured environment because security of their lives and properties are of paramount importance to the governors. He added that no meaningful economic achievement can be recorded in a volatile and an unsecured environment noting that it was for this reason that the south west governors forum has followed through on its initial security summit held in Ibadan six month ago which birthed Amotekun. His speech reads in part "to those who are afraid, I said when we assumed office, we took the oath of office and we promised to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the federal republic of Nigeria to follow the dictates of the constitution and protect the sovereignty of the federal republic of Nigeria, For me and my colleagues, we have not forgotten our oath. "Our regional integration should be seen in one light and in one light alone, that we are coming together to fight a common enemy, that enemy is not Nigeria, the enemy and the element among us and their affiliates who are determined to cause commotion within the borders of our states and threatening our collective coexistence." Present at the event are governor of Ekiti state, Dr Kayode Fayemi, governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, Deputy governor of Osun state representing governor Olugbenga Oyetola, traditional rulers led by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and heads of service chiefs in the state.

Why not turn to God, sometimes a wicked woman can reverse the role at home spiritually. Take away the man's ability to earn, while she increases hers. In an interview with Jamie Hitchen, a Policy Researcher at Africa Research Institute, Jega commended the former President, saying he meant well for “our democracy”. According to the former INEC boss, Jonathan granted all the financial requests of INEC. He said: “The administration of Goodluck Jonathan, President from 2010 to 2015, never gave any reason to suspect that there was a deliberate and willful attempt to emasculate the funding of INEC. “For this, they should be applauded. No situation arose where we had to go cap-in-hand to the Executive looking for funding, and I must add that when supplementary funding was needed, it was nearly always forthcoming. For most of the time during our tenure, President Jonathan tried not to personally interfere with the Commission’s work. “Only in the run-up to the 2015 election did his government and ruling political party seek to interfere with the decision of INEC to use electronic card readers. “We were able to remind them that they had supported the idea and funded it. Overall, I think that President Jonathan meant well for democracy in our country, a view strengthened by the gracious way he conceded electoral defeat in 2015.” He said the experiences of the Anambra election of 2013, and Osun, Ekiti in 2014, helped the Commission to prepare well for the 2015 general elections.
