Really, ladies should be careful....i'm still surprised how a lady will be OK following a stranger to a hotel room, spending the night with a man you she doesnt know from Adam. it's damn risky. Lemmie share with you these posts of ladies who were lucky and escaped death in the hands of this serial killer

Education / Re: B.sc And M.sc In Different Fields: Will He Get A Lecturing Job? by rodDICK(m): 4:51pm On May 07, 2019 |
Pr0cter: If you do a real background check on some of these universities, they claim to have an injunction from the NUC that lecturers without a Bsc on the subject area should not be employed to lecture. yet we see sometimes cases of lecturers who switch fields and are successful. This has caused questions like these. |
Education / B.sc And M.sc In Different Fields: Will He Get A Lecturing Job? by rodDICK(m): 1:46am On May 07, 2019 |
Nairalanders, please I need your help. Mods please help push this to front page as I think many persons would benefit from the contributions from nairalanders. This guy studied Maths/statistics in his B.Sc. After graduation, he diverted to the geosciences which he has a greater love for. He did a PGD in geography and environmental management and then later completed a masters in environmental hazard management. He currently is seeking admission for his doctorate in climatology. Will this person succeed in getting his dream job as a lecturer in Geography? At what point might he qualify for this position? will his B.Sc in mathematics/statistics affect his career change? please I need nairalanders with knowledge and experience in this area to make input. Thank you. |

Sambest2: nice thought. I guess I will get any info about the pay and job security on Monday. about whether I will have more advantage after my MSc, I definitely will. I will be more qualified in the HSE field after my MSc even if I do currently have some professional qualification. that's the reason why it is a difficult decision to make. |

Jobs/Vacancies / Do I Continue Schooling Or Accept This Job Offer - So Confused by rodDICK(m): 8:07am On Jan 28, 2017 |
hello nairalanders I'm in a dilemma right now and I need real advice. I do hope I get a very wise one because I haven't enough time on my clock. the mods can also help me to push this to FP because its my future at stake. I'm in a position where I don't know whether to continue schooling - MSc, or accept a job offer. after my BSc, I didn't want to continue on with my course of study because I realised I hadn't much passion for it, I went in to study mathematics because it came my way and at the time I couldn't say no to an admission. so after nysc, I went in to do a PGD in geography and environmental management. i already had love for the geosciences. came out with a good result that qualified me for a MSc in any of the related discipline. I applied for environmental hazard management and got the admission. at this point things became more difficult with the recession and it is clear to me that I won't be having any support. school fees has increased and the cost of running the MSc has gone high. on the other side, I've been applying for jobs as a HSE officer/manager which I have some years of experience working during the break within my programs. I just missed a job in nestoil because my guy in there didn't act fast to recommend me when there was emergency vacancy. however, because of the disappointment they have offered me a job as a HSE officer in a seismic company. they have asked me to come on Monday 30th January. by calendar I'm suppose to start MSc lectures on the same date. I have drained my brain thinking of what to do....whether to take the job and differ my admission perhaps, or to go on with the MSc and ignore the job for now... I know that a lot of you folks out there have been in a similar situation or you know someone who was. please your advice is needed, I don't want to make a mistake that I will regret...and I just have less than 2 days before the interviews on Monday morning. please mods help me get this to front page. I'm depending on their advice. this is my last resort. thanks 4 Likes |

Religion / Re: Why Not Get The Perspective Of Jehovah's Witnesses? Ask Ur Questions Here. by rodDICK(m): 9:55am On Sep 17, 2016 |
DoctorAlien: Is your God one of confusion? I cannot even grasp the meaning of Trinity and I bet you cannot too, because prominent Trinitarian Bible scholars when questioned have admitted the doctrine to be a mystery. I think Jesus with all his illustrations and examples which made him a great teacher could have been able to succinctly explain the Trinity. But he never even suggested it. That is the problem I have with religion. It is so senseless. As humans we can be more productive without religion. |

BIBLESPEAKS: This is the most reasonable post I have read on this thread. Trinity was murdered here. Even from my atheistic point of view, Trinity is the dumbest teaching in Christianity. It defies all logic. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
Religion / Re: Jehovah's Witnesses Cult Exposed! by rodDICK(m): 9:14am On Jul 27, 2016 |
this is one of the most insane topic I have seen on NL. are you talking about the JW we know or is it another group of christians? I do not belong to a religious group because of the hypocrisy in religion. but if I were to begin associating with a religious group it would be Jehovah witnesses. no Christian group is up to their standard. I know a few persons who are JW and they are so lovely. do you even know what a cult is? OP you are embarrassing yourself by creating this thread. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: "Oloibiri" Where Nigeria's Crude Oil Was 1st Discovered And Drilled(photos) by rodDICK(m): 7:31pm On Jul 23, 2016 |
Orikinla: really this is a case of "he who wears the shoe knows where it hurts." I am a Niger deltan, from the ijaw tribe, and with my unbiased sense of reasoning, I say: "this contraption called Nigeria has never been a country." this has always been a case of every region for himself. we should stop deceiving ourselves and embrace the facts. oil was discovered in commercial quantity in oloibiri in January 1956. this year marks it's 60th anniversary. so the Niger Deltans, especially the people of oloibiri have to wait until their son becomes the president of Nigeria before they can expect something related to development to be done? I read somewhere that after the oloibiri oil well, the Nigerian govt has promised that oloibiri would be developed into a tourist attraction, attracting visitors worldwide. It is also true that some Niger delta elites put in authority have embezzled funds meant for development, but that happens everywhere in Nigeria too. what has the Nigerian govt done to correct the problem? A lot of folks here keep saying "their elders and leaders are corrupt." this would also be the case if the western states, the eastern states and the north had the oil under their soil. if the Nigerian govt so cared about developing the Niger Delta, they would have embarked on a robust scheme that would bring real development, they would also tackle the problem of corruption that exists in the Niger delta. the bottom line is, they don't care enough. this is a case of govt releasing funds for the region, but not following up to ensure that it trickles down to the common man. as it is now, if you are not from the oil producing communities, you have no idea how it feels being in this position. so be careful what you say about this matter. in Bayelsa state and other regions where oil is explored in the delta, there are various ailments we are exposed to as a result of these oil exploration. life expectancy in he region has been put at 54 by WHO. I don't think any region in Nigeria would go through this kind of condition in a peaceful fashion. I am a realist, we really cannot solve this corruption issue Nigeria is having. the problem the ND is suffering from is as a result of neglect and corruption, neglect playing a more prominent role. based on this, the only solution to the problem of the ND is full resource control. we have to control our resources. whatever mismanagement happens thereafter we would have no one to blame. America practices this. what business does the state of California have with the oil in Texas? this true federalism every region in Nigeria would embrace if they were in our shoes, it obviously would have been enacted long before now if the oil was in the north or perhaps the west. truly we are minority. if the Nigeria refuses this request, I will support this region to pull out of Nigeria. the reason is that every region in Nigeria has its interest above others. sometimes not having interest at all in other region. all this is happening while oil is been tapped from the ND. the ND will continue like this and will become worse unless it controls it's resources or become a republic. non of you easterners, westerners and northerners will truly understand the pain of the ND because "he who wears the shoe knows where it hurts." 5 Likes 2 Shares |
