Really, ladies should be careful....i'm still surprised how a lady will be OK following a stranger to a hotel room, spending the night with a man you she doesnt know from Adam. it's damn risky.

Lemmie share with you these posts of ladies who were lucky and escaped death in the hands of this serial killer

Pr0cter:
It beats my imagination that an individual after obtaining a masters degree doesn't know where he can practice what he studied.

Of course he can lecture in Geography. It's common among lecturers.

If you do a real background check on some of these universities, they claim to have an injunction from the NUC that lecturers without a Bsc on the subject area should not be employed to lecture. yet we see sometimes cases of lecturers who switch fields and are successful. This has caused questions like these.

Nairalanders, please I need your help.

Mods please help push this to front page as I think many persons would benefit from the contributions from nairalanders.

This guy studied Maths/statistics in his B.Sc. After graduation, he diverted to the geosciences which he has a greater love for. He did a PGD in geography and environmental management and then later completed a masters in environmental hazard management. He currently is seeking admission for his doctorate in climatology.

Will this person succeed in getting his dream job as a lecturer in Geography? At what point might he qualify for this position? will his B.Sc in mathematics/statistics affect his career change?

please I need nairalanders with knowledge and experience in this area to make input. Thank you.

Don't be quick to make a decision without considering these:
What is the job take home pay.
Job security
Are you going to have more advantage after your Msc

nice thought. I guess I will get any info about the pay and job security on Monday. about whether I will have more advantage after my MSc, I definitely will. I will be more qualified in the HSE field after my MSc even if I do currently have some professional qualification.

that's the reason why it is a difficult decision to make.

You are most fortunate my brother! If u know how many PhD holders applied for Dangotes truck driver advert last two years, u wouldn't seek a second opinion. U've got a job offer from one of the leading oil companies in Nigeria, yet u wish to alternate with one bloody MSC program. Like seriously! There is always room to further ur studies when u work with such companies, its to their own advantage. I advice u stick with the rossy Job ..opportunity comes but once... Goodluck.

Jobs/Vacancies / Do I Continue Schooling Or Accept This Job Offer - So Confused by rodDICK(m): 8:07am On Jan 28, 2017
hello nairalanders I'm in a dilemma right now and I need real advice. I do hope I get a very wise one because I haven't enough time on my clock. the mods can also help me to push this to FP because its my future at stake.
I'm in a position where I don't know whether to continue schooling - MSc, or accept a job offer.
after my BSc, I didn't want to continue on with my course of study because I realised I hadn't much passion for it, I went in to study mathematics because it came my way and at the time I couldn't say no to an admission. so after nysc, I went in to do a PGD in geography and environmental management. i already had love for the geosciences. came out with a good result that qualified me for a MSc in any of the related discipline. I applied for environmental hazard management and got the admission.
at this point things became more difficult with the recession and it is clear to me that I won't be having any support. school fees has increased and the cost of running the MSc has gone high. on the other side, I've been applying for jobs as a HSE officer/manager which I have some years of experience working during the break within my programs. I just missed a job in nestoil because my guy in there didn't act fast to recommend me when there was emergency vacancy. however, because of the disappointment they have offered me a job as a HSE officer in a seismic company. they have asked me to come on Monday 30th January.
by calendar I'm suppose to start MSc lectures on the same date. I have drained my brain thinking of what to do....whether to take the job and differ my admission perhaps, or to go on with the MSc and ignore the job for now...
I know that a lot of you folks out there have been in a similar situation or you know someone who was. please your advice is needed, I don't want to make a mistake that I will regret...and I just have less than 2 days before the interviews on Monday morning.
please mods help me get this to front page. I'm depending on their advice. this is my last resort. thanks

This is the reason:

"...the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of GOD: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Cor. 2:14.

Is your God one of confusion? I cannot even grasp the meaning of Trinity and I bet you cannot too, because prominent Trinitarian Bible scholars when questioned have admitted the doctrine to be a mystery.

I think Jesus with all his illustrations and examples which made him a great teacher could have been able to succinctly explain the Trinity. But he never even suggested it.

That is the problem I have with religion. It is so senseless. As humans we can be more productive without religion.

If Jesus is Almighty God...

1. Then why is "God head of Christ just as Christ is head of man"? (1 Cor. 11:3)

2. Then why does Scripture consistently phrase Jesus as a separate person from God? (John 20:17; John 14:1; Mark 10:18; John 17:1-3; etc. Also in heaven, 1 Cor. 11:3; Luke 22:69; etc.)

3. Then how can Jesus have a God? Could Almighty God have a God? (Mic. 5:4; Ps. 45:6, 7; 89:26; John 20:17; Rom. 15:6; 2 Cor. 1:3; Eph 1:3; Col 1:3; Mark 15:34; John 17:1-3; Also in heaven, Rev. 1:6; 3:2, 12)

4. Then why does Scripture say he was born and is part of Creation? (Col. 1:15)

5. Then why does Rev. 3:14 say that Jesus is "the beginning of the creation of God"?

6. Then why is he subject to GOD, like we're subject to him? (1 Cor. 15:27, 28; Eph. 1:17)

7. Then why does Micah 5:2 say that Jesus' ORIGIN was “from early times”?

8. Then why does Jesus not know what God knows? (Matt. 24:36, Rev.1:1; Luke 8:45)

9. Then why is Jesus still subject to God when he is as high as he will ever be? (1 Cor. 15:27, 28)

10. Then why does Proverbs 8:22-31 show that the Messiah was CREATED / PRODUCED by God?

11. Then why is he not powerful enough to subject things to himself? (1 Cor. 15:27, Eph. 1:17, 22)

12. Then why would he have to be given any power and authority? (Mt. 28:18; 11:27; Jn. 5:22; 17:2; 3:35; 2 Pet. 1:17)

13. Then why did he have to learn anything? (Heb. 5:8; John 5:19; 8:28)

14. Then why is speaking against him not as bad as speaking against the Holy Spirit? (Mt. 12:31,32; Luke 12:10)

15. Then why did Jesus call the "Father...the only true God"? (John 17:3)

16. Then why did he need to be saved? (Heb. 5:7; John 12:27)

17. Then why did he have to be exalted to Leader and Savior? (Acts 5:31)

18. Then how could he be exalted and given a higher name than he had? (Phil. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:2-4)

19. Then why did he have to be given life in himself? (John 5:25,26)

20. Then how can the Father be greater than he? (John 14:28)

21. Then how could Jesus be tempted by Satan when God cannot be tempted with evil? (James 1:13)

22. Then why did he worship the Father? (John 4:22)

23. Then why can he not do anything on his own? (John 5:19; 6:38)

24. Then why would he pray to anybody? (Luke 22:44; John 17:1,2; Heb. 5:7)

25. Then why do John 1:18 and 1 John 4:9 say that Jesus is God's "only BEGOTTEN Son"? ASV

26. Then how can he be God's servant? (Acts 4:26,27,30)

27. Then how could he receive strength from an angel? (Luke 22:43)

28. Then how could he be a mediator between God and man? (1 Tim. 2:5)

29. Then how could he be with God (ton theon)? (John 1:1)

30. Then how can he be God's image? (Col. 1:15; Heb. 1:3)

31. Then why is he called the agency (dia) of creation and not the Originator (ek)? (1 Cor. 8:6; John 1:1-3; Prov. 8:30; Heb. 2:10; Col. 1:15,16)

32. Then why did Jesus say GOD was "good" in a way that Jesus was not? (Mark 10:18)

33. Then why does he have an archangel's voice instead of God's voice? (1 Thess. 4:16)

34. Then why is the only "worship" given to him the same given to humans? (Heb. 1:6, cf. Mt. 18:26; Rev. 3:9 - "Proskuneo"wink

35. Then why do many who believe this rely on a few selected, so-called 'proof-texts' instead of the context of the consistent teaching of the entire Bible?

36. Then how could he be commanded to do anything? (John 12:49; Deut. 18:18)

37. Then why did Steven see two separate entities, GOD and Jesus, and not just one God or three persons? (Acts 7:55)

38. Then how could he be seen at GOD's right hand? (Luke 22:69; Acts 7:55; Rom. 8:34)

39. Then how could Jesus be exalted (not to become God Himself, but) to the position of the "right hand OF God"? (Acts 2:33)

40. Then why would he have to receive a revelation from God? (Rev.1:1)

41. Then why is he called God's "begotten" Son before he came to earth? (John 3:16; Gal. 4:4; 1 John 4:9)

42. Then how could he have a Father? (John 20:17)

43. Then how could he come in flesh? (1 Kings 8:27; Acts 17:24,25)

44. Then why did he not come in his own name? (John 5:41-44)

45. Then why did Jesus "come down from heaven to do" God's will and not his own will? (Luke 22:42; John 6:38; John 5:30; John 8:42)

46. Then how could he appear before GOD? (Heb. 9:24)

47. Then how could he die? Can God die? Can part of God die? (Rom. 5:10; Acts 5:30; 1 Cor. 15:3; Hab.1:12; cf. 1 Tim. 6:16; Num. 23:19; Ps. 90:2; Dan. 6:25-26)

48. Then why is it that God resurrected Jesus? (Acts 2:32)

49. Then why can we see him if "no man has seen God at any time"? (John 1:18)

50. Then why is there not one clear Scripture where Jesus is called "God the Son," (equal to those declaring "God, the Father)?

51. How is it that the Jews rounded up some false witnesses to make up lies to obtain a death sentence for Jesus, but neither the Jewish officials nor even one of these false witnesses made a claim that he was God or equally God? (Matt. 26:59-67)

52. John summed up his whole Gospel by saying that it was written that we may believe "that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God." Why is there is no mention in that summary of the entire Gospel of what would be the most important thing of all - that Jesus is God? (John 20:31)

53. How could Jesus teach in the Jewish synagogues and the temple? This would never happen if any of the authorities believed he claimed to be God (or that his followers believed such a thing). - Matt. 26:55; John 7:14, 28. Matt. 4:23.

54. How could Jesus' followers teach in Jewish synagogues after Jesus' death and for the remainder of that first century (at least)? Again, this would not have been allowed if there were any suspicion that they believed Jesus to be God. Acts 9:20; 13:5, Acts 13:13-15.

If the Holy Spirit is Almighty God...

1. Then why do quotes from Trinitarians admit that the Holy Spirit is not God but rather is a force from God?

2. Then why would Jews instructed in the Old Testament scriptures and in the teachings of John the Baptist, NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS? (Acts 19:2)

3. Then why isn't the Holy Spirit given equal description in the Bible?

4. Then why didn't Jesus ever teach that the Holy Spirit was God along with the Father and Son?

5. Then why does the Bible describe the Holy Spirit as an "it"? (Is. 34:16 ASV, KJV; Numbers 11:17, 25 ASV, KJV, RSV, NRSV, AT, LB, NEB, REB, NAB, JB, NJB; and Romans 8:16, 26 in the KJV.)

6. Then why does the Bible describe the Holy Spirit as a thing that can be poured out into portions? (Acts 2:17, 18, 33; Numbers 11:17, 25)

7. Then why is the holy spirit nameless and indistinguishable from all of the other holy spirits?

8. Then why did the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD disregard the Holy Spirit as a member of the Godhead when they made Jesus 'God' in 325 AD? Why did they wait until the Council of Constantinople in 381 AD to include the Holy Spirit in the formula?

9. Then wouldn't the water and blood be persons too according to Trinitarian reasoning and 1 John 5:8?

10. Then why is the Holy Spirit sandwiched between a list of QUALITIES at 2 Cor. 6:6?

11. Then why does the NT Greek Lexicon describes the Holy Spirit as "this" at Acts 2:33?

12. Then why is it that nowhere in the Bible is the Holy Spirit ever said to be an equal member of a trinity?

13. Then why is it that nowhere is it mentioned in the Bible the words, "God, the Holy Spirit," or "The Holy Spirit is God"?

14. Then why is it that there is never mentioned a vision, dream or clear description in scripture wherein God and the Holy Spirit are shown as the same person?

If the Trinity Doctrine is a Bible teaching...

1. Then why do NUMEROUS encyclopedias agree that

"... the doctrine of the Trinity was of gradual and comparatively late formation; that it had its origin in a source entirely foreign from that of the Jewish and Christian scriptures; that it grew up, and was ingrafted on Christianity"? – p. 34, The Church of the First Three Centuries, Alvan Lamson, D.D.

2. Then why do many encyclopedias, dictionaries and other sources (including Sir Isaac Newton) agree that the "Trinity was a pagan corruption imposed on Christianity in the fourth century by Athanasius"?

3. Then why does the Bible consistently identify God by singular person pronouns: "I, "Me," "He, and "Him" instead of "We", "Us", "They" or "Them"?

4. Then why does 2 Cor. 13:14 say that the Lord Jesus Christ is one individual, the Holy Spirit is another individual (whether a person or a thing), and that "GOD" IS ANOTHER DIFFERENT INDIVIDUAL?

5. Then why is there not even one Scripture which clearly defines the Trinity?

6. Then why is there not even one Scripture of a vision, dream, or CLEAR description wherein God is shown as three persons?

7. Then why is there not even one Scripture where God is described using the word "three"?

This is the most reasonable post I have read on this thread. Trinity was murdered here. Even from my atheistic point of view, Trinity is the dumbest teaching in Christianity. It defies all logic.

this is one of the most insane topic I have seen on NL. are you talking about the JW we know or is it another group of christians?

I do not belong to a religious group because of the hypocrisy in religion. but if I were to begin associating with a religious group it would be Jehovah witnesses. no Christian group is up to their standard.

I know a few persons who are JW and they are so lovely. do you even know what a cult is?

OP you are embarrassing yourself by creating this thread.

Politics / Re: "Oloibiri" Where Nigeria's Crude Oil Was 1st Discovered And Drilled(photos) by rodDICK(m): 7:31pm On Jul 23, 2016
Orikinla:
The north or Federal Government did not cause the deplorable conditions of life in underdeveloped areas of the Niger Delta, but the Niger Deltans themselves are their own worst enemies.
They are very evil fetish people who believe in cultism and hindering the progress and success of their fellow villagers.
I am speaking from experience.

On Bonny Island for example, the Nigeria LNG Limited for the past 14 years has given them 24 hours regular power supply and water supply, but they have remained underdeveloped.

They fought against the construction of a bridge from Bonny Island to Port Harcourt, because they want their people to keep on using their canoes and speed boats every day.
A bridge will make the journey from Bonny Island to Port Harcourt only 45 minutes. But they preferred to reject the bridge and use canoes and boats to cross the Bonny Channel for two hours, because they want to continue making money charging N1, 000-N1, 500 per passenger on their overloaded boats and have caused the unfortunate deaths of many people in mishaps when overloaded boats capsized.

They will collect government contracts and jobs and misappropriate the revenue allocations.

The late political activist Ken Saro-Wiwa was a Commissioner in Rivers State when he was only 26 and many of his colleagues were young men and women. But what did they achieve with the big government appointments and contracts given to them?
They failed to develop their communities.

Former President of Nigeria, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, PhD, was Deputy Governor and then Governor of Bayelsa State before unforeseen circumstances favoured him to become the Vice President and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. But what did he achieve for his community Otuoke and the rest of Bayelsa State? Yet, he misappropriated billions of both state and federal revenue allocations to enrich himself and his greedy beneficiaries who are the troublemakers still crying wolf today..

really this is a case of "he who wears the shoe knows where it hurts."

I am a Niger deltan, from the ijaw tribe, and with my unbiased sense of reasoning, I say: "this contraption called Nigeria has never been a country."

this has always been a case of every region for himself. we should stop deceiving ourselves and embrace the facts.

oil was discovered in commercial quantity in oloibiri in January 1956. this year marks it's 60th anniversary. so the Niger Deltans, especially the people of oloibiri have to wait until their son becomes the president of Nigeria before they can expect something related to development to be done?

I read somewhere that after the oloibiri oil well, the Nigerian govt has promised that oloibiri would be developed into a tourist attraction, attracting visitors worldwide.

It is also true that some Niger delta elites put in authority have embezzled funds meant for development, but that happens everywhere in Nigeria too. what has the Nigerian govt done to correct the problem? A lot of folks here keep saying "their elders and leaders are corrupt." this would also be the case if the western states, the eastern states and the north had the oil under their soil.

if the Nigerian govt so cared about developing the Niger Delta, they would have embarked on a robust scheme that would bring real development, they would also tackle the problem of corruption that exists in the Niger delta.

the bottom line is, they don't care enough. this is a case of govt releasing funds for the region, but not following up to ensure that it trickles down to the common man.

as it is now, if you are not from the oil producing communities, you have no idea how it feels being in this position. so be careful what you say about this matter.

in Bayelsa state and other regions where oil is explored in the delta, there are various ailments we are exposed to as a result of these oil exploration. life expectancy in he region has been put at 54 by WHO. I don't think any region in Nigeria would go through this kind of condition in a peaceful fashion.

I am a realist, we really cannot solve this corruption issue Nigeria is having. the problem the ND is suffering from is as a result of neglect and corruption, neglect playing a more prominent role. based on this, the only solution to the problem of the ND is full resource control. we have to control our resources. whatever mismanagement happens thereafter we would have no one to blame. America practices this. what business does the state of California have with the oil in Texas? this true federalism every region in Nigeria would embrace if they were in our shoes, it obviously would have been enacted long before now if the oil was in the north or perhaps the west. truly we are minority.

if the Nigeria refuses this request, I will support this region to pull out of Nigeria. the reason is that every region in Nigeria has its interest above others. sometimes not having interest at all in other region. all this is happening while oil is been tapped from the ND.

the ND will continue like this and will become worse unless it controls it's resources or become a republic.

non of you easterners, westerners and northerners will truly understand the pain of the ND because "he who wears the shoe knows where it hurts."
