Howdy, What is your current skill level? Have you been able to pick up or learn any skills on your own? Do you have a current portfolio that gives an indication of your capabilities? |
Dude, deceive thyself not!!! Absolutely no way, though everything is possible with the Lord, will you master a software application or two in 3 months to produce Ebony quality magazines. Go hire a service capable of doing this, it most likely will turn out to be more prudent and cost effective. Applications required: Photoshop, Indesign, Quark, Illustrator, CorelDraw |
Sorry Kaspa I share not the enthusiasm of other posters, A beer label and I assume an advert, neither highlight the skills of an accomplished designer. A good idea would be to take a look at a book or other material on logos and brands and how these are utilised in both packaging and promotional material, that should be both a good starting point and a source of inspiration |
Hey guys and gals, If you live in the London area and are interested in a runaround, we have a court booked at the Chiswick Community Sports Centre. We run sunday evenings between 6pm and 8pm all round the year barring the major holidays, easter, christmas et al, It's a mainly Nigerian crowd and if you want to hook up for a drink afterwards its all good though do not feel obliged to. Have you fears, you dont have to be the next Kobe or LeBron to join in, all standards are welcome and you will get a game, there are a lot of forty-somethings who play in an attempt to, I must add unsuccessfully, reduce their beer guts!! It will be nice to see you, for further info mail Tunde at he following email address: Olatunde.K.Feyisetan@gsk.com So chaps, dust down those sneakers and come along!! |
Hey, i've written about this lass in the past and I'm sooo happy she is getting recognition for her literary prowess. This is a book to read, i'd even stick out my neck as far as to say if you genuinely dont like the read i'll give you back the cover price, it's a book many will be able to relate to.I've spoken to people who have read this novel, many shed a tear, the majority were so gripped they were unable to put it down, the general concensus? They are all eagerly awaiting the sequel!!! Talent always breaks forth and floats to the surface!! |
Yep our under 30's have won the U-17 tournament, Congratulations!!! |
@ kashikapor interesting, is it possible to get a better idea of the brief out of you? |
Yep thats a chalk drawing by a street artist, absolutely fantastic when seen in real life and viewed from the right angle gives the 3d perception of reality pretty cool! |
@ damseremie Quite good, the only issue i have with the piece which would have aided the realism is the injection of the gun recoil action in the shooter, it is this subtle attention to detail that differentiates the men from boys and transforms a piece of footage from just okay to brilliant. outside of that props ![]() |
Try the adobe share studio or google photoshop brushes, Thats the easiest and quickest way to find brushes, alternatively be creative and make your own custom brushes |
The first thing that comes to mind is the quality of original footage. Remember the old saying 'garbage in, garbage out' if the original source is below par there is no magic that will ressurect it. Check that a a starting point, secondly your mail is a bit vague on what kind of editing you are performing to the footage. If the quality is good coming in then you are definately doing something in the editing process which is destructive. These are the two possible causes of poor output, opps thirdly, afte compositing there is also the possiblity of output quality errors which may also occur when the footage is being digitised depending on what particular process or workflow you use. Hope this helped some. |
Romeo. romeo let your ignorance not show romeo, No tis not a big deal to work in the media however if one requires a marketing person it would stand to logical reason to ask, People who cant see beyond their noses and utter the first thought that pervades their minds are such irritants It would be appropriate to garner some facts, |
For those of you who existed before the digital age replaced the airbrush, The bloke you all know, another Photoshop piece created with the airbrush tool the original image which was used as a guide/template is shown beside it
|
A lichtenstein style pop art piece This was a rough created as a guide for a larger piece
|
A couple of images which were in another thread All Ilustrator & Photoshop
|
And also along the lines of Lichtenstein as there seem to be some pop art lovers in the house, this is obviously based on a photograph and was a prototype for another image which ended up as a large print
|
Once again my 2 cents or rather kobos Images from a few 'moons' back that were part of a valentine card range Created mainly in photoshop and illustrator
|
The main area of the image, the seal is conveying absolutely nothing. Apart form the fact that the seal is neither realistic looking nor functional, this is, I believe meant to be an advert for a product or service. The product USP and message have been lost and is not conveyed to the viewer. The images on the left hand side also do not aid at all in the conveyance of the message. Better use of the headline and strap is required More thought needs to go into what the aim of this advert is and how it would be conveyed to the viewer A quick look/view should leave the viewer with a clear picture of both what the service/product is and what it does. Try to achieve this both visually and typographically, in an instant, because normally that is all one has to 'draw' in a viewer/potential buyer/client. On the flip side, i'm aware that time and effort have gone into this piece and those are required factors to creating better and improved work. Keep up the good work |
Sweetie Flash, Premiere or FCP for a proper pro type job, might be a steep learning curve but i'm sure thare are peeps on this forum willing to lend a hand |
Web developer/designer required to design and implement an e-commerce website. The site will serve as both a catalogue cum brochure and there is also a need to incorporate a shopping cart. Any interested parties can get in touch via info@imagextras.net Kindly state your fee structure and any portfolio links would be helpful and yes the site is based in Nigeria |
bit of a toughie here, u cld've 'resized' by embedding the new size values in the html but ur new smaller size isnt propotionate to the original; so if you do this here u will lose the 1:1 horizontal/vertical ratio, sorry but it seems the solution is to phyically go into flash and re-jig this banner, that guarantees that quality is maintained, which i'd like to believe is pertinent |
After effects 'head' but not in lagos tho, ![]() |
How about a typography based project/theme, say we create a logo for an upmarket luxury brand, an opportunity to depict a logo that exude opulence, style and class a fictional name, The Chosen Few This should be presented within a complimentary slip which normally size wise be a 1/3 A4 horizontally ie 210 by 99 mm NB due to bandwidth rescritions it will have to be scaled when posting on this thread Enjoy |
@ itgng hey what applications do you use? it is possible to see some work you've done? |
via Premiere or final Cut Pro is one option |
Kemji do you ever do anything project wise that doesnt have you in it one way or the other ![]() |
Ooooh, it seems a large can of worms has been opened here. From a personal point of view, there must be a simile of truth in the statement if we go by the standard of graphics posted on this website. However we cannot use the above as an indicator of NG web/graphic designers as a whole. Given the conditions that most have to work with or under, it is a miracle that they produce anything at all in the first place. Another consideration is that one needs to separate the graphically and creatively gifted from the technical heads. The fact that a man/woman knows the ins and outs of Dreamweaver, CSS, HTML, ASP, PHP coupled with Photoshop is no guarantee that he/she will produce an aesthetically pleasing and functional site. It might be better to conclude that creativity is limited and this is mainly due to a lack of exposure, the more diverse sites an individual gazes upon the more the creative juices are stimulated and ultimately the creative experience is heightened |
C'mon chaps lets step up to the plate. the romantic gene resides in each and every male, you know you want to do those things for your babe, you just feel it aint macho or you're concerned about what your homies will say or how you will be viewed by them. It doesnt make us any less of a man to show affection, we were created that way so let this natural instinct flow and make your lover happy and create a good foundation for your relationships. forget all issues of being used or abused or being taken advantage of, love is a gamble and there is that woman out there who will love you in return the same way you love her. Naija or no naija, romantic movie or book, hey the bottom line is thus; Life's greatest happiness is the knowledge and conviction that one is truly loved. Wine and dine your babes, tell her you love her and do the things that let her know that she is really and truly appreciated. Enjoy! |
@ gidig well spoken, tis not the software that maketh the man but the creativity within, |
Photoshop is the industry standard, it might not matter that much in NG where more or less anything goes, however one would be kidding themselves if they wanted to work in the graphics sector in the states, UK or europe without Photoshop skills. It just wont happen, |
According to Gamine, here is my 2 cents to the continuation of crap. A couple of variations of the same theme for the gospel singing KROSS boys
|
Then y'all should check out Sade Adeniran's first self published novel 'Imagine This', more info can be found @ www.imaginethisthenovel.com and yes i am blowing the trumpet on her behalf but i've also read the book and tis a darn good read |
