superman although entitled to his opinions is an uncultured lout given his manner of self expression blindness is also setting in if he feels BEN is on par with OBE He is a typical example of the naija attitude that anything is acceptable. c'mon oyibo dont have 2 heads u know, we need to set decent standards and aspire for the best |
, jump off a tree and flap your arms ![]() only kidding, as mentioned the best place is the Aviation school in Zaria though I have heard one can get lessons in Lagos & Warri, check thru the airfields/airports you shld be able to get info from them. Further afield a friend learnt to fly in SA |
Gosh why are there so many haters?! 'Tis always the ones with nuthin 2 show on the posts/forum who blab the loudest. Someone remind me 'bout that sayin which involves empty vessels, Gamine job well done! The simplicity works, period. Lets ask the 'educators' in Saddam & YNOT 2 post images/work they've done too enlighten 'lesser' designers Gamine how old are you? |
@ adconline Like with most raw material exportation the profit is made at the purchasing end of things as opposed at the sale end. With regard to timber that most likely will be sourced in a particular location. Mainly Ondo, Edo, have decent timber, not sure re the govts deforestation program but looking up back issues of the Gazette should resolve that. Cashew however is a different ballgame and larger quantities need movement, always try to get to the source and cut out as many middle men as possible. hope i've helped some |
@ 9ja4eva With all those weird spinning text intros, its got 2 b powerpoint or some other mundane piece of software Less is more, enough of all those weird transtions, they are painful to the eye. good titling and movie editing is about simplicity. The moment they become overly noticeable then a bad job has been done. With regard 2 special effects, it is the lack of realism that is the bane of the nollywood industry, how hard is it 2 create realistic lightening and fireballs? since we like movies filled with 'jaz' & other occultic elements. The post production editors need to up their game or it is just a case of the production teams not wanting to pay 4 good quality services? |
Babe, the onus is on your bloke to take control of this situation. This is an all too common scenerio in NG relationships, sisters lording itover future and incumbent sisters-in-law. Your partner has to put his family in check, yes we all want the 'they lived happily ever after' story but it isnt a reality for all. He has to realise that his priorities automatically shift from sister and mother to you and let the others know where the line is drawn. A line that shouldnt be crossed especially when it leads to disrespecting one's missus |
Just listen to all of y'all, What ever happened to the best man or woman getting the position? Rather all we've got hear are tribal rantings, if this is still our reality then we might as well consider breaking up the nation so each people can have rulers from their own neck of the woods. Excuse my ignorance here but a democracy isnt like some emir, igwe or oba-ship where rotation from one ruling house to another comes into application, we still have a long way to go |
Hi can you kindly inform me of what applications you use in your editing? |
Ohmigosh, If he conviently ommited this 'insignificant' fact, what else has he forgeotten to tell you? To the kerb with him ASAP and dont fail for all the sentimental BS he will definately feed you. No trust and honesty, no relationship, we all know where marriages build on such foundations go, Downhill!! |
Everyone has spoken and spoken well, The key to a good publication aside of the capital required are content and consistency. You've got to keep the subscriber/reader coming back month after month, plan ahead regarding content and ensure the publication looks good and silly little errors and typos are avoided. but there is only so far good design can take you. CONTENT IS KING!!! An experienced magazine designer |
newera, thanks for the info, there wouldnt happen to b a website by any chance? |
Peeps Doesnt it just piss you off when our brethren in foreign climes are so quick to dis we strugglers who are keeping NG real. The 23 item list still hasnt appeared yet and then I ask if our brethren resided in NG how many of those items on the list would 'they' own. Please, please, please, all y'all who are quick to yap, let the brain engage before the mouth spews out negative tosh |
Hi There Peeps, Are there any graphic designers, animators or video editors out there in Nigeria preferably in Lagos who believe their skills are up to scratch. Scratch here means the kind of standard seen in 'oyinbo' programming or if you have basic skills and are willing to learn- quick learners only- new skills and work as part of a new Post Production & Design studio to open in Lagos before the year is out. If you fit the bill I'd love to hear from you. |
The year is 2007 and going by some of the previous comments, the mindset of many still hasnt changed. It is the lies, deceit and lack of integrity that makes NG the mess that it is currently that could lead BEN TV to broadcast that NTA led government tosh. Sugar-coated views of how great the elections were and how happy the people are to be decieved and have their human rights stolen from them. With regard to the quality of the programming it is sad that pple would boycott watching, when without a shadow of doubt there are broadcast and multimedia gurus out there who could lend a helping hand to make things better. Let us all not forget the fact that we are not 'oyibo' but refugees in a land that would rather not have us, let's start to think of how we can improve our own. |
convert both flash files to movies and embed in a new doc or embed either one into the other depending on the degree of interactivity required |
first things first, no disrespect to those of you who may be in the industry in NG, but tis a simple case of a lack of creative talent topped with a sprinkling of ignorance. Where the ignorance comes in? Home movies are too long and poorly edited, why? cos the producer/director wants a drawn sequence spread over 6 discs which enables him to suck money out of suckers. Before we even think of special/visual fx lets get a good quality edit, not all these 'real time' scenes. At of good direction is based around implied fact, a character gets in a car and starts it implies he/she is going somewhere, we do need the whole of that journey captured in the movie more so when it is not relevant to the plot, cut, next scene character arriving and alighting from the vehicle. With regard to special fx, are the individuals in the field blind? weve had references to star wars from 73, Jurrassic Park 93, if you cant come up with something new, then make a good reproduction. If that is not possible then the individuals behind the fx are not capable. I know nigerian aborad who are as good as the Matrix et al, but they are not willing to work in NG, why? no light, security etc, that is for another forum. The creative talent is not currently doing their business in this field, till then, cringe and keep watchin ![]() |
To all u web design/ graphics cuties out there, tis all about the talent, Ignore Seun's chauvanistic outburst, if u've got skills then go for it. Gamine if you feel u are good enough to ball with the boys dont let anything stop you, The entirity of the earth has always belonged to the male folk and that aint ever gonna change but there are loads of sista's representing and i say good on y'all, U just gotta believe It all boils down to the talent, PS: I'd love to see some of your work |
Trini_ girl & Lafile have more or less summed up this post. Really gospel vs secular really doesnt arise, the renewed mind is able to discern, the more you long to be close to God and maifest this closeness, the less one will find themselves listening to unwholesome music, not all secular music is unwholesome in the same way not all gospel music glorify's God. Lucifer now Satan is well aware of the power of music and has completely perverted it eg rock artistes worshiping demons and biting off the head of bats onstage or gangsta' rap that glamorises gun crime, violence & drug running or the debasement of female folk in some of the hip-hop videos out there. One should nor belittle the influence music has on the spirit, mind and soul. Play a few slow jams and what mood does it put one into? God's spirit talks to the spirit in man and enables one to make an informed choice. If you as a born-again christian prefer to go see Usher sing about pre-marital sex as opposed to Donnie praise and worship God, then the renewal process is still in it's early stages and questions needto be asked regarding what side of the fence one really is residing at. |
The question is, why do you want to purchase it? What purpose would it serve? I am assuming here that you currently run some other 3D app |
Kris, Colorado is a long stretch form NG, Yes the Mac are fantastic graphics tools but NG is pc setup, limited Mac support in NG Appreciate you circumstances and give us home boys some inspiration ![]() |
Dude, apart from the music overlap during the load/transition process, this site is slammin'. It is not graphics heavy tho it is a bit cluttered, too many things happenin at the same time. With a broadband connection it loads fast enough. Trust me as one who as worked in this industry for a while, it is a site any western artiste would be proud to own. Keep up the good work, it is pleasing to see our home boys kickin it so! |
AS with most areas of the media things seem to be progressing however it goes without saying that with regard to decent animation, broadcast idents and movie editing we are still stuck in the dark ages. There is still a long way to go and without a shadow of a doubt there is an abundance of talent, what is required is a tution and direction more so from hands who have worked and been tutored in foreign climes. Individuals who known the proper workflow and who continually strive for perfection. Till then, we continue to grope in the dark |
Bigjay, i'm sure it isnt plug-ins that maketh the man/woman or the final product, ![]() however there are loads of freebies available thru the adobe share studio which will not doubt help improve the final product and also speed up your workflow Enjoy!! http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm |
Oh and contrary to one of the earlier posts its a good idea if cashflow permits to invest in a graphics tablet and stylus as opposed to a mouse, the difference is like chalk and cheese, or pepsi & 7-Up as the saying goes |
no you dont need any special pens, ur pencil lines are just fine, just ensure they are visible on the scanned image, alternatively adjusting levels within Photoshop will make the lines more visible. The aim is to trace or re-draw the lines within Photoshop which will give you the clear concise lines, the equivalent of the good old black lines one would get if an inking pen was used in the days of old. This forms the base on which all colouring will be done. Enjoy! |
No school will teach you how to have an 'eye', possibly composition rules and guidelines but the best way is to go out there and snap away. Buy a decent book pick up tips like the rule of thirds etc which will improve your composition, learn how your camera works and shot on Enjoy! to y'all i'd love to see some of the pix u've taken |
Always remember copyright infringement issues Enjoy! |
One of two things, either your configuration has not met the minimum requirements to run Photoshop ie RAM, processor etc or two after installing look for the Photoshop preferences file delete it and then run the application Enjoy! |
Missy miss, not bad work, however you should have start with a digital retouch of the image before considering applying makeup, on the other hand good work and check on truckin, Enjoy! |
THe easiest and quickest way is to hand draw, scan into your PC, clean up, ink and colour the images in Photoshop. The following tutorial should be helpful http://www.webdesign.org/web/photoshop/color-management/digital-comics-coloring.5052.html |
