does the design source have to be based in NG or is a means of keeping the overheads down? |
@ LoverBwoy You havent got the foggiest if you compare an A4 to a vauxhall astra, Compare the A4 to a Passat, 3 series beeemer, C-class benzo, not a poxy british astra. more understated than the beemer or the benzo from a prestigious standpoint but the A4 is a flyer any day. Definately reccomended |
hi missy @ what interest rates are these mortgages being offered? |
@ BabyCakes your thots are your thots, no doubt. however being judgemental is really not a helpful way forward, foolhardiness or otherwise @ Ibisobrown as pple have rightly said genuinely giving your live to Christ is the first step, however you will also need to seek pastoral hope from a ministry/leader dedicated to the breaking of covenants and curses. Don't just assume it all ends with the salvation process, there may be other issues to address especially here where a blood covenant was made. Rev Joe Olaiya of Living Faith Foundation holds a Sorting Out program across nigeria and i believe this will be quite helpful if you can attend. I pray the Lord will lead and direct you in your quest to free yourself from this bondage. God bless http://www.lffsortingout.org/ |
@junegirl when you say u work in the industry, what is it exactly you do? You wouldnt just happen to be a marketing boffin by any chance, would you? |
Hi apparently there is a calendar wizard within the application. check out the following link, the answer to your Q resides there, Enjoy!! http://graphicssoft.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ/Ya&sdn=graphicssoft&cdn=compute&tm=33&gps=523_477_1168_874&f=00&su=p284.8.150.ip_&tt=14&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//www.unleash.com/articles/calendarwizard/index.asp |
@Dis Guy yep it is already listed on amazon.co.uk. Can be found under an author search for Sade Adeniran |
A friend of mine who resides in the UK, Sade Adeniran has just self-published her first novel titled 'Imagine This'. It's the story of a young girl born in the UK who is returned to a village in Nigeria abruptly and chronicles her growh from child to youth. It's a fantastic read and I say this not just cos she's a friend but cos it really is a brilliant read. Her website can be checked out @ www.imaginethisthenovel.com. |
For all u 3d boffins and aficionado's you've just got to check this out from Pixarhttp://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808490293/video/2649507/standardformat |
Hey Kemji Dont adopt that attitude, be it pleasure or business give anything you create your best shot, as a creative anything you create is a part of you and is an advert of you ability, you never know where it will end up, secondly and more importantly the aim is to ever improve so that you'll look @ work you did last year and be able to see the flaws because of the new level you have attained. Never hold back on your ability, let it contunually flow out like a river, that's the only way new stuff comes in to take you to higher levels. Just keep doin what you do, there's talent within you Enjoy! |
@damseremie When you say cheaper prices, wot kinda figures are we talking about? Say for a three and a half minute animated video? |
@cspear77 u come looking for 'awoof' and dont even ask the dear folks on this forum nicely for their help. Chrisitan brother, u can do betta than that, you have a need, ask how things work, but then again the good bokk does say .ask and you shall receive' Best of luck with the music career |
Kemji good piece there is one however, The image of the lass is overpowered by the strong text beside her she looks blurred, out of focus, choose your poison, if the text was toned down, a little GBlur in photoshop a great balance will be achieved. Outside of that well down, more grease to ya elbows, oh work the bottom reflection a bit more Enjoy |
Kemji, short & simple NOOOO!!!!! |
@ cute_N_hot you are not wrong, iso settings, aperature, lens etc have a bearing on the outcome of the image from a visual point of view. for example one can shot with a 12MB digital slr, but due to camera shake end up with a blurred image, this doesnt mean the image isnt crammed with info, it is just crammed with 'bad' info. This image can be enlarged to A3 without any pixel degradation which wouldnt be possiblw with say a 2MB camera. If the image is in focus, a 'perfect' shot, then the larger the MB content, more than often the sharper the image and the more versatile are the possible uses, enlargement, full page magazine use etc, lots of NG publications carry images of poor quality, TRUE LOVE is a perfect example of good image use. Hope this helps some |
@ MORUF03 dude, qualifications really are not the way forward, let a good portfolio speak for you. if your work is good, prospective clients will hire you, however if you really want to, then go on relevant short courses. certificates are usually handed out on completion of such courses, though they are really not indicative of proficiency |
@ spicywax isnt that wots hapeenin' here?? ![]() |
@ Aloofaa good shout, great spot, we expect better from ad agencies of such repute |
if any help is required, just ask the Q's, i'm sure answers will fly in from all angles |
Hey kemjisuper, if you really want to start a design 'competition' thread the brief has to be a bit tighter. That way everyone is working to the same specs and also it gives a comparative platform, for example; design a corporate stationary pack for nairaland to include letter head, complimentary slips and business cards, this would involve the creation of a logo as well as use of that logo element in a practical, real world type scenario, also you would have to provide all info that can/would be used on such material; contact details ie addresses, names, numbers etc, possibly strapline, ![]() |
@ awoof a lot of higher end digiatal camera's give you the option of selecting the image quality/size. i use a digital SLR which gives 6 or 7 different images sizes/ quality. As earlier stated by many, the smaller the image size(MB) then the greater the chances of pixelation when blown up or enlarged, stick with whatever resolution is required depending on the final use of the image. On the average a 4 or 5 meg image is more than adequate for a 5x7 photograph, if images are for print, say brochure or mag u might need a higher resolution depending on how big the image is going to be in the publication. Enjoy!! |
abstarr & vebocity are spot on. If you dont need high rez images adjust ur camera accordingly, 4 individuals involved in graphics there is always going to be a need for high rez shoots or the requirement to 'zoom' in. but for family snapshots a point and shoot will suffice |
@ gidig scale the images down in Photoshop or similar, there's really no need to work with them @ that size if such detail isnt required. As u've said it will only take up uneccessary hard disk size but more importantly it will some up both application & machine speeds. Enjoy ![]() |
Quote from: Seun on October 05, 2006, 06:14 PM I intend to produce a movie once I have a complete story that people really like. That was my intention but, alas, there is no profit in it. Without profit, one can't be focused. is money your motivation for all things you do? Creatives produce art for the love of the art, that should be your starting point. Yes everyone loves to get paid Yes everyone needs to put bread on the table Love the art for the art, passion is wot leads to a sence of accomplishment and a good movie. Dont look @ the profit but fulfill a dream |
The larger the MB size of an image, the more information is contained in the image hence a sharper higher quality image even on a 5x7 print. As mentioned in an earlier post, the larger MB image does have the ability to be enlarged without pixelation occuring (within reasonable limit). For full image control, dont purchase a point and shoot camera, if finances allow get a digital SLR which will give real control over the outcome of your images, a camera where one looks through a viewfinder and not an LCD screen |
@ Tornadoz I did gather from one of your earlier posts that u r in the 'yook'. So i'm assuming that it's the lure of the IT bonanza and it's figures that has lured you away from your 'first love'. I suppose it happens, one has to think of corn on the table first, on the other hand going by the quality of some of the posts seen here in these graphic forums, NG needs quite a bit of help |
@ Tornadoz How could you give up on it !?! More so @ a time when NG needs xperinced pple to jump start the industry. |
@ Tornadoz you seem pretty clued up regarding this graphics design business. May I ask which area specifically is your area of specialisation? |
If you dont watch the movies then how do you know for a fact that the allegation is false? I'm sorry but i dont think i've ever seen an 'oyibo' in a nollywood film that was wholey shot in NG. I stand corrected if this is not the case, however on the other hand its kind of odd thinking wot role a caucassian wld play in a typical witchcraft laden movie. Woteva the reason for the lack of foreigners it sure aint racism though |
Saw the movie today, the movie's special effects are the bomb!! The story line leaves a lot 2 b desired Personally it's a 6 outta 10 |
