Simplyleo:U made no mention of parachute assisting Landing. U made it sound like free fall into a water body. |
Simplyleo:Bros stop lying to these people here na. How can your only safety be in landing in a deep water body? At 8.5 km above ground level, the capsule’s huge parachutes start to open. You feel gravity dragging on your body as you land into a water body. The main purpose of the water body is to help elasticate your landing momentum in other to prevent any conversion of energy that may be detrimental to the safety of the crew. The huge parachutes most of the time offer perfect velocity for a hitch-free landing. |

RichDad1:Building massive infrastructure from Chinese debt. Thank God they have finally sold this country. Let me see where zombies like u will breed in future. Idiot. |
rottennaija:Trust me. U need that more than I do. Every state has at least a drop of oil but most don't produce in commercial quantities for example, Lagos produces a measly 40000 barrels per day, that's just 1.6 per cent of Nigeria's oil export. If u ask me 1.6% is an insignificant amount. |
rottennaija:U know the oil producing states. Lagos isn't one of them. |
rottennaija:Lagos' contribution is from non-oil sources which we all know cannot compare to revenue from petroleum. |
thorpido:We are factoring in everything. IGR and contribution to national revenue. |
rottennaija:The post is about contribution to the states to Federal revenue. |
All these Lagosians overhyping Lagos State I tire for una oooo. Just this morning, someone made a comment on how Lagos State alone could sponsor the whole Nigeria's budget in one of the posts here. The other day another Lagosian said that Lagos was the state with the largest economy in the entire African continent, I was shocker than Buhari sef because Lagos was not even in the top 5 - Lagos is far below Johannesburg, Cape Town, Cairo etc in terms of GDP alone. Come back to Nigeria, Lagos made an IGR of ₦398 billion in the whole of last year 2019. That amount of money is not even enough to fund it's own(Lagos) 2019 budget which was set at over half a trillion Naira. In comparison, Akwa Ibom State alone contributed roughly that amount (₦380 billion) PER MONTH (not per year oooo) to the Nigerian economy in 2019 in the sales of over one hundred and eighty million barrels of crude oil at an average price of 65 dollars per barrel. If every state were to survive on their resources, you would notice how Lagos would struggle to keep up with even the smallest Niger-Delta state. The most important state to Nigeria's economy is Akwa Ibom State, followed by Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa States. These four states alone produce over 93% of Nigeria's oil(Nigeria's primary source of revenue) literally catering for the economy needs of the entire country but when we want to talk about financial muscle, only Lagos State comes to the fore. AKWA IBOM STATE MAKES LAGOS' YEARLY REVENUE IN A MONTH. Lagos is overhyped, Akwa Ibom is underrated. |

FG extends closure date for N-power as five million scramble for 400,000 positions The Federal Government on Sunday said the enrollment for the Batch C scheme of the N-Power Programme has been extended to August 8. The enrollment exercise started on June 26. This was disclosed by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, on her Twitter handle on Sunday night, adding that over five million applications have been received for the scheme. The Federal Government plans to enrol 400,000 applicants in the Batch C scheme. It would be recalled that some N-Power beneficiaries who are about to exit the programme held a rally at the National Assembly Complex last week, asking the Federal Government to employ them as well as pay them a grant of N60,000 each. However, the minister, while providing an update on the development, said: “I received the news of a protest at the National Assembly by N-Power Batch A and B beneficiaries who presented a list of demands which we are reviewing and will address as practically possible. “Let me reiterate that the exiting of Batch A and B is not punitive but as a means of providing an opportunity for their brothers and sisters to also access the programme. Batch A and B beneficiaries remain our pride and worthy ambassadors. “One month after the portal opened for Batch C applications, we are happy to announce that we have received over 5m applications underlining enthusiasm for the programme. “In a bid to extend the opportunity to all Nigerians and ensure it is truly inclusive, the portal will close at midnight on August 8th, 2020.” The N-Power Programme is a major component under the National Social Investment Programme of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. SOUTH-EAST GOVERNORS FIX DATE TO UNVEIL REGIONAL SECURITY OUTFIT The governors of the South-East have fixed a date to unveil a security outfit for the region which will tackle the high level of insecurity in the zone. According to the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, all stakeholders would be carried along and the necessary arrangements for the take-off of the outfit would be made available in due time. Briefing journalists on Sunday after a virtual meeting of the forum alongside other Igbo leaders in Abakaliki, Umahi on behalf of his colleagues noted that the date of unveiling and name of the security outfit would be made known to the public during the South-east Governors' Forum next meeting. He said after unveiling the outfit, the commissioners for Justice of the different South- east states would finalise a draft bill for passage into law by each state's Houses of Assembly to give legal backing to the security outfit. Umahi said while the Second Niger Bridge would be completed and handed over in 2022, the August 30 completion deadline for Enugu airport was still on course. The Igbo leaders commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to the speedy completion of the Second Niger Bridge and the Akanu lbiam International Airport, Enugu. Umahi, who expressed optimism that the two major projects would be completed as scheduled, said they would interface with the federal government to seek funding for the rehabilitation of the eastern coridor railway line. How can the North-East that contributes nothing to the economy of this country have a development commission, and the South-south that feeds the entire country be denied of a development commission just because of some greedy individuals. Scrap the people running the affairs of the NDDC, leave NDDC alone. |
