The vehicles worth $11m will be given to military officials at the Nigerian Army 9th Brigade Parade ground,Ikeja. A statement yesterday, by the Public Affairs Section of the US Consulate General Lagos, said: The US is pleased to donate 24 Mine-Resistant, Armor-Protected (MRAP) vehicles valued at $11m to Nigeria’s military authorities. “The equipment donation represents part of the continuing US commitment to Nigeria and its neighbours to counter Boko Haram’s senseless acts of terror and promote regional security.” Source: http://latestng.com/1242/us-donates-24-mine-resistant-vehicles-worth-11m-to-nigerian-army

Is it now land of the rising fire... ![]() |
Chelsea began 2016 in style with a 3-0 win at Crystal Palace and the Nigerian got the cult Twitter treatment after an imperious performance It didn't take Chelsea fans long to find themselves a new idol following the loss of Jose Mourinho. Guus Hiddink may have stepped in to save the day, but it is familiar face John Obi Mikel who has become the new darling of Stamford Bridge. The Nigerian was worshipped on social media by the Blues faithful after a dominant display in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. 'Mikel Mania' trended across the globe with fanciful comparisons to Zinedine Zidane being made and even calls for a statue to be erected in his honour. Chelsea supporters have had precious little to cheer about all season, so it is with a massive hint of irony that their oft-derided anchorman is providing the most smiles. Here's a selection of the best 'Mikel Mania' tweets... What is being done to rectify this obvious error? — Rob Brown (@robbro7) January 3, 2016 Cant wait for a Messi interview in 10 years time where he recalls Obi Mikel as the best player he has ever played against — D.COSTA WHO TWEETS (@DiegoKingCosta) January 3, 2016 Sergio Busquets currently at home studying Obi Mikel's every touch having borrowed Gary Neville from Valencia to walk him through it all. — Tweeds (@JoeTweedie) January 3, 2016 So here's to you Jon Obi Mikel... pic.twitter.com/Iq8TVEWfrH — ChelseaFansChannel (@ChelseaFansYT) January 3, 2016 And on the 7th day, Mikel sat back and screened the defence to allow God to push forward and create more expressively. — Mid '90s Laudrup (@WarAndSetPiece) January 3, 2016 John Mikel Obi. The great survivor. Every season we mock him and question his relevance. Every season he becomes more useful. #CFC — Michael (@Michaeloreva) January 3, 2016 Don Obi Mikel — Chelsea Rumours (@ChelseaRumours) January 3, 2016 Source: m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4071/premier-league/2016/01/03/18948282/the-african-zidane-twitter-explodes-with-mikel-mania?utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com.ng%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dmikel%2Bas%2Bafrican%2Bzidane-goal.com%26client%3Dms-opera-mini-android%26channel%3Dnew%26gws_rd%3Dcr%26ei%3DVHCJVsreE43cjwPoq7vQBA

bodejohn:We dont need Dstv to watch our league and beside our local league has greatly improved within the past 3 to 4 years. They are using epl to exploit us |
I am an EPL fan. I love Man U, I love Chelsea, I love Arsenal, I love Liverpool. But I can’t watch their matches often because DSTV is too expensive! I had planned to buy a GOTV decoder for Xmas, though they only show one unimportant match in a week. But they told me that the price have increased from N2900 to N6900 again. This is the Xmas promo of GOTV! They already increased their subscription fee early this year. We customers even won a case with them; but even the court can’t stop them to increase price again. We constantly have to bear the hardship of MultiChoice. Even when I go to viewing centers, they also have increased the price because DSTV put the best EPL matches in higher bouquet! How many Nigerians can afford to pay N15,000 every month! In European countries, people can enjoy same EPL free but we have to bear unreasonable price to watch our favorite content? Multichoice did so many bad things to us Nigerians. They had a case with CPC because they violated consumer’s right. Asides from the above, MultiChoice have its own devilish agenda against the lives of young Nigerians – our future generation. While it is recognized that its contents are not suitable for children, DSTV was willing to air, ‘I AM JAZZ’ – the story of a transgender teen. DSTV was certainly planning to further infiltrate the innocent minds of our children with this devilish culture. DSTV and GOTV have an agenda! And to think that Nigerians are willing to pay for this evil to further pollute our society is saddening. How much are you willing to pay for the souls of your children? How much is an average Nigerian willing to pay to have access to smile via football? How much are we willing to continue to pay to be exploited by MultiChoice? MultiChoice have traded in Nigeria long enough; while we will not allow them erode the values of our children; we will continue to demand that MultiChoice must provide EPL FREE to every football lovers. They plundered Nigerian for more than 20 years and it is time for them to take their social responsibility now!
