From the picture of the Benz, it looks like a C class kompressor. In terms of fuel, its almost same consumption with the Camry. That model of C class is very rugged and prestigious machine. Personally, I will opt for the German machine! |

This is not the best time to cry and wail on what you should or shouldn't have done. This is the time to take practical steps on how to recover your cars. A whole lot of due diligence was not done b4 the vehicle was given out. I am into transport business in Abuja too, and I usually advise those who want to do transport business in Abuja on steps to take to avoid stories like this. Anyway, we will talk more on watsapp and let's see what happens. Please, just try to be calm, because you will need this calmness in order to think straight. |

johnugwu: Dear Nairalanders
Good day, I need help and advise on what to do.
I met a friend through my wife in Abj and he was into taxi business in Abj. I got interested and decided to join because i had this flair for transport. I even applied tru YOUWIN i was called for the first and second stage until i lost out at the third stage.
This friend of my wife introduced me to his driver that has been doing business for him for some time and in order not to kill the YOUWIN dream. I got some cash abt 3M and bought the 4 car in two tranches from Cotonu, Mazda 323.
As i speak now for more than five weeks this guy has not paid me, i didn't know his house before so i had to get the other guy to take me to his house and behold the neighbours all feigned ignorance of his existence there. To make matters worse, his phone numbers are all switched off and i don't know the drivers he uses.
What do i do at this point in time? I cannot allow my sweat enter voice mail like that. For the other guy his payment since sept 2015 has not been paid and for three cars.
I will appreciate if there is any help i can get here. I know i made a mistake trusting such kind of guy with my investment, I was blind to trust.
I learnt my lesson in a hard way.
please push to front page to get opinions and way forward.
Thanks OP, Its so sad. Drop your number so that we could chat. |

Business › Re: Lagos or Abuja which is better for transportation business by RollingFellas: 11:28pm On May 04, 2016 |
funso77: My dear brother, there are so many factors to be considered in considering which metropolis is good for ur transportation biz but I will definitely choose Abuja over Lagos with d following points:
Street urchins/Agbero: dis people r everywhere in Lagos and even if u choose 2 run ur biz as a taxi/cab service, imagine how much d union pple will disturb u. In Abuja of 2dai, u cn quietly run ur taxi/cab/kabukabu biz and make ur money without any inteference frm anybody
Good roads and network: need not expand on this, it is basically evident. Abuja roads are wider and connections within d metropolis is quite easy 2 understand.
Though we cannot compare d population of Lagos 2 Abuja, but ma bro, u can still make ur money
Movement: it is very easy 2 navigate Abuja roads. U can cross frm Gwagwalada 2 Maraba/Masaka within few minutes, to and fro anytime of d day except closing hours sometimes which is d rush hour in Abuja. Can u compare even though it is nt d rush hour in Lagos, that is even if there is any 2 dat of Abuja? Move frm Ikeja 2 Ajah during d rush hour in Lagos na. Or frm Egbeda 2 Surulere. Or even Festac 2 Apapa na.
U av every chance 2 also maintain ur car better in Abuja and still even do ur fine boy and dictate time u'll work affording u d comfort needed 2 do ur biz. Try dat in Lagos make I hear I totally agree. |
Career › Re: We Earn More Than Bank Workers –FCT Cab Drivers by RollingFellas: 11:09am On May 04, 2016 |
Vick4rill: brother in ur quest to encourage entrepreneurship dnt make it, look so easy, and exaggrate it. i am in abuja presently and i can tell u that most taxi driver, are on high purchase, some taxi drivers dnt evn make upto that 5k. u forgot that they also ve their own daily expences nd cost of living is vry high in abuja. a banker that earn 200K can buy taxis and give it out for bussiness.the truth is that white collar jobs is beta than most of this jobs.bt lacks of it, makes us to go for other choices... castigating white collar jobs is like a blind man who becus he doesnt ve eyes concludes, that the eyes smells. evn the taxi driver would ve gone for pensioneer job if oppurtune. Thanks a lot for these insights. But the truth is business requires commitment, dedication, perseverance, sometimes denial of some luxuries, and focus. The man that makes 500k monthly started with one on hire purchase from someone, years back. And today he has fleets of them. I know Abuja very well, and I am also a player in the transport business and have been able to have fleets too ranging from cabs for intra city, Sienas and buses for inter city travels. I have also tasted white collar job were I rose to the very top of my career. With all humility, I can say I have tasted both world.....So, please what the FCT cab driver said is true. If any driver is on hire purchase, he still makes money. The problem with most of them is indiscipline and being economical with the truth. Some also are into women, booze and live extravagantly without planning. |
Career › Re: We Earn More Than Bank Workers –FCT Cab Drivers by RollingFellas: 10:44am On May 04, 2016 |
devonpaul: I feel u bro but that's not a career growth sha, it's just a business making sense. I call it ' Business Boom Era' every business men experiences this and there is the Doom Era too. I disagree with you. What do you understand by career? And what does career growth means to you? Agreed every businessmen experiences ups and down in business. When does a business makes sense?...lol...Do you know that career growth to you may mean something else to another person? When the cab driver confesses that he makes a lot of money than an average banker, he makes a lot of sense. Those major transporters that churn out millions monthly, don't they have 'career' growth? Transportation industry thrives, despite its risky terrain. The man that owns fleet of cabs and makes average of 500k monthly even has a registered cab company. Banks are always eager to dish out loans to him and he also has staffs he pays. Its high time our youths begin to change personal orientation about this white collar job thing.....and also, business and investments are pensionable. If you doubt it, please speak with pension fund managers.... |
Career › Re: We Earn More Than Bank Workers –FCT Cab Drivers by RollingFellas: 8:33am On May 04, 2016 |
Emmaesty: Such hasty generalization.
5000x22 working days equals 110,000.
Assuming he works everyday, 5000x30 = 150,000.
Meanwhile for permanent staff, Diamond bank pays 247k, Access bank pays 230, Gtbank pays 209k, Stanbic pays 180k.
With a bank job, there's career growth. But as a cab driver, there's little growth as most of them remain in one spot until they are old and can no longer see in the dark. I disagree with you. I know of a taxi driver who started with one car and now controls fleets of taxi in Abuja. The guy makes over 500k per month on his fleets of taxi alone. Its about being focused and determined. You also forgot that the banker can be sacked at anytime...... |

Arsenate: Mehn, nairaland women are easily the biggest hypocrites there could ever be. Whenever a lady comes around and mention one or two flaws of her partner, they will quickly advise her to dump him and move on. But if a guy does the same, they will advise him to try and work it out. Yeah, he should do it love. Love conquers all, bla bla; their usual emotional manipulation lines. Truly, I'm learning how utterly selfish women can be. The rules and situations have to favor them, ALWAYS If you say women can be selfish, men are equally selfish as well..... |
