danduchi: Look for a good spot like a higher institution and open a barber's shop, get a barber that will do the job for you.. Start up won't cost more than #150k... Use #600k to get a good golf to run township transport for u. Barber settles 1k each and driver #1500. That's #2500 daily, #15k in a week and 60k in a month. Within 10months u cover up ur capital Good and practical advice. |

TokyoBulls: Thanks for asking. If the two cars pass Uber car assessment, each will earn you about N40,000 to N50,000 per week (net of all expenses) on Uber. That's some additional N320,000 to N400,000 per month income for you. You can also give them out to drivers on drive-to-own. If you're giving a 2010 Toyota corolla to manage, can you guarantee at least N320,000 to the owner per month? |

The N340,000 to N400,000 monthly income you mentioned, is it gross or net income? By my calculation, the N40,000 to N50,000 per week translates to N160,000 to N200,000 per month. Please shed more light. |

Car Talk › Re: Which Toyota Sienna Is Best For Use In Public Transportation And Why? by RollingFellas: 6:41pm On Apr 12, 2016 |
MPVGoddess: You speak like a practitioner.
I am doing this business with my partners who want the new model Sienna.
We have had discussions with some drivers, on some routes e.g., Port Harcourt they tend to discriminate against the 2000 Sienna, hence we were looking at the new model which to us newcomers to the business is 2004-2006, so we haven't really zeroed in on the 2006.
Now if I may ask, so long as the ride is technically sound, and given Toyota's legendary reliability, mileage shouldn't really matter, right.
Thanks for throwing in your experience into this discussion. Drivers will always want a beautiful vehicle but never really care much on how the investors will recoup. 2nd generation siennas are excellent. Since that's what its preferred, its cool. Thanks for the compliments and all the best in the business. |

mili3kid: u do av a point there. bt then wat matters now is d one dts more durable for d business Speaking from transport business angle, both are good. With good driver and maintenance culture, he can still make money with the two. It depends on packaging. He can decide to have a mix of both and placed on different routes. Less effizy and shorter routes could use the 1st generation sienna while the more effizy and longer routes could get the 2nd generation sienna. |

MPVGoddess: I asked a question here the other day, which is better to import or buy and I good advice. See thread here: https://www.nairaland.com/3015502/import-car-minivan-buy-locally
Am here again to ask for more advice.
I want to invest some $$$$ in a couple of sectors including the transportation industry.
I would appreciate advice from mechanics and drivers and transporters.
It is clear that as far as transportation is concerned in minivans, that the Toyota Sienna is king of the road.
What I need to know as a greenhorn is which to buy and why.
Right now am considering 2004, 2005 and 2006.
All I know for now is that it should be an 8 seater, what I don't know is what trim etc.
Any help would be highly appreciated. 2004 and 2005 are ok. What will 2006 do for you in transport business that 2004 and 2005 can not do? Why spend extra cash getting 2006? Does 2006 guarantee you getting more customers than when using 2004 and 2005? Personally, I think you should settle for 2004 and 2005. Just by the way, I used a 2000 model sienna in my fleet before and within one year, I was able to buy a 2004 sienna from the money generated by the 2000 model sienna. The 2000 model sienna is still in use on short routes. So, it goes beyond vehicle cosmetics. Its more on being strategic, practical thinking and package. |
Car Talk › Re: Which Toyota Sienna Is Best For Use In Public Transportation And Why? by RollingFellas: 5:44pm On Apr 12, 2016 |
MPVGoddess: is it possible to retrofit a 7 seater Sienna to become an 8 seater Sienna with factory seating including seat belts.
Asking because 7 seater Siennas are the rage, and 8 seater Siennas are as difficult to find as a needle in a haystack! You can get very good 8 seater sienna at cotonu. Its not scarce. Just an advice from experience, in transport business, you have to maximize profit and reduce cost reasonable. As you grow bigger in transport business, you can add the XLE trim if you so desire, as the an executive fleet with extra charge for customers to pay depending on route and packaging. Since you are just starting, just buy the LE trim with 8 seater. If you can find one with roof-top DVD, better. But if not, you can buy it and fix it. What should concern you most now is getting the right personnel like good drivers, managers and mechanic, having a good structure in place and try to strategize on how to grow and meet financial targets weekly or monthly. You need to do a lot of thinking, strategizing and packaging. Please, don't dwell too much on the vehicle cosmetics. |

1. Gyming: I use to be fat but now m liking my structure
2. School: i went bak to sch to complete my HND
3. Friends: Started makin friends n knowing pple geniunely
4. Business: i use to be on a salaary of abt 200k, No more income, I opened a laundry n employed 2 persons wit my last savings. Currently I rake in abt 60k monthly afta paying salaries. I sumtyms feel happy. I also went into being an house agent.
5. Church/ God: a more deeper relationship wit God tru constant attending of mornin mass You have a positive mindset. I will advise you create multiple streams of income and you will see yourself making more than that 200k per month you used to get when you were employed. You could open up more branches of your laundry services and employ more people. Overtime, you may become a household name in laundry services sector. Also, think of other businesses you can add by diversifying. Most times, multiple streams of income could translate to higher turnover. Once you have more branches, all you will be doing is to supervise to maintain standard, strategise for your business growth and work on other business interest. You will become extremely busy overtime and will not even remember that you are unemployed. |

Please i will like to know how profitable buying a bus or a salon car like jetta to a driver in benin on hirer purchase like. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Tanx Transport business is a lucrative venture if well managed. It goes beyond buying a vehicle and giving it out to any driver. At the moment, I can only write based your specific enquiries. * for Benin, I will advise you buy a salon car * I will advise you buy Audi 80 salon car. * Hire purchase is best option for you since you will be occupied with academics. * Do proper due diligence/background checks on the driver you intend to hire. femijck: yea but my mechanic uncle promise to get me a gud naija use at that price...what do u think? Personally, I have always advocated good Tokunbo or new vehicles for transport business. This is because the wear and tear already in good tokunbo vehicles as at time of purchase is minimal when compared to that of Naija used. However, if you get a well maintained Naija used for a start with your budget, you can start with that, provided you have a very good mechanic at your berk and call. Once you're able to make money to get a tokunbo car, you can give the Naija used you've used out to another driver (or you sell and add money to it to get a bus, mini van or a better car) while you drive the tokunbo car. On opening a bet shop, I have never liked betting. I don't think Its a realistic and practical business you can have total control of its cash flow. Besides, it's simply gambling. Its a game of chance. Why should one hinge business cash flow on chance? My opinion though.... |

But 350k is quite low for a good tokunbo vehicle, except you intend going for Naija used. With discipline, dedication and perseverance, you will grow by buying more taxi cabs and expanding. Also, transport business brings in regular cash flow and also very lucrative with adequate planning and strategy. |

tearoses: People, its more than fold your hands and look
When rent doesn't get paid, the landlord will come and shout at both of them......it will be embarrassing for both and even more painful to her because its not as if she isn't working.
When he starts to get food and other things on credit from local shops and mama puts, when they come to their gate and start shouting it will affect her too. o
The shame will affect her too, so she cant just sit-down and look.
I really feel for her, because this is not a simple case of you go your way I go my way. They are married so the insults will be to both of them.
I hope the guy sits up. I totally agree with you. |
