Properties / Re: Find A Roommate In Lagos(only Graduates Please) by Romanticzigzag: 10:27am On May 05, 2023
Let's talk please.
yuncka:
House mate needed in a Shared apartment at Kosofe, Ketu.
A 2-bedroom mini apartment (upstairs with Veranda). Shared toilet, kitchen and parlor.
Light (Prepaid) and water available. Compound is secure and safe.
total package (N170,000) +agreed shared monthly utility charge.

Note: the current rent is expiring by July end and I am relocating outside Lagos this month. I would prefer a female tenant as the current tenant I'm sharing with is female.

Pros:
Secure compound
Light and water is fair.
Very close to the road (approximately 100meters)
Close to Mile 12 food market and other essential markets.
Upstairs with proper ventilation, tiles maintain a cool temperature.
Mosquito and other insects are less of a problem here.

Cons:
Compound is not toosh.
It’s a busy neighborhood due to its closeness to Mile 12 Market.
Children in the compound can be a handful during play hours.

If interested….Send me a message on WhatsApp @07031585509
Properties / New Job Offer Received, Accommodation Becomes A Challenge by Romanticzigzag: 7:26pm On May 04, 2023
I recently just got a job at a company in Ojota.
A trip to the area for findings as regards accommodation shows that Lagos isn't for the weak.

Most of the self contain apartments from Ojota to Ogudu, down to Ketu costs a arm and a leg, which is actually relative, considering my pocket.

Now, I'm in a limbo

1. Is there an hostel available in that area
2. Is there anyone who wants a shared apartment so that we can pool resources together and get a room and parlor self contain.

The rate of houses especially for self contain ranges from 200k and above.

Will require your contributions as a brother needs it.

Thanks

Investment / Re: How Can I Be Saving My Money In US Dollars (or Other Foreign Currencies) by Romanticzigzag: 4:32pm On Sep 07, 2021
SavageResponse:

In my opinion cryptocurrency is not an advisable way to store your entire wealth.

The value will not continue to rise forever, at some point it will experience a correction and prices will start to fall!

Apart from this there are a lot of scams in the crypto space. If you don't know anything about crypto it will be foolish for you to go and dump your entire life saving there unless you want to cry premium tears.

My advise to you is to open a US$ dom account with a Tier 1 bank in Nigeria viz GTBank, Zenith Bank, First Bank, UBA, Access Bank and keep your money there.

Note...don't chat up anyone here to discuss your finances. By doing so you have exposed your identity and put yourself at risk because the person now has your phone number.

Anyone who wants to give you assistance regarding the process of conversion to cryptocurrency can list out the procedure here on Nairaland

Appreciate your comment, but remember you can't save in local currencies in your domiciliary accounts, you can only save in the corresponding currency it was opened..

So how does one save?

Education / Re: My WAEC Certificate And NIGERIAN Passport Gives Different DOB. What To Do? by Romanticzigzag: 6:23am On Apr 29, 2020
Even my national ID card which is yet to be given to me(card) is done with my BVN details which is not the correct details.

So what to do?
izzou:
Go and do a National Identity card and put the date that is on your WAEC certificate

Then you can submit that as a means of identification
Education / Re: My WAEC Certificate And NIGERIAN Passport Gives Different DOB. What To Do? by Romanticzigzag: 6:21am On Apr 29, 2020
My birthday certificate reads the one on my WAEC Certificate, and my international Passport gives the one on my BVN which is not correct.

So I had to choose the one for bvn cos I know the bvn is linked to NIN which is used for the International Passport.

seunoj:
Which one is the correct one?
Do u have birth certificate? Does it have the correct age or it differs from the two documents earlier listed

Provide more details.
For intl pp, u can request a change
For waec, na long thing. An affidavit may b used

Education / Re: Teaching In British Schools : What Are The Criteria? by Romanticzigzag: 1:57am On Mar 23, 2020
Thanks, already made the correction.
eduman365:
First of all, work on your spoken and written English. It matters a lot. You can't afford to commit grammatical blunders in an interview for a job that's supposed to make you an instructor where the kids learn to speak Queen's English.

Secondly, criteria is already in the plural form, the singular is criterion. There's no such thing as 'criterias' wink

Education / Teaching In British Schools : What Are The Criteria? by Romanticzigzag: 1:26am On Mar 23, 2020
Hello there,

I'm Adewale, I currently work in a packaging Factory.
I do my job well, as I know whatever the hand findeth to do, do it well. I recently even got a raise after I completed my one year in the place.

However, deep down, I know this is not the kind of work I want to do for long. I can't even plan my life with this kind of work. As my job takes much of my time, I only have Sunday for myself!

But over the years, I developed a passion for teaching. I can teach mathematics in secondary schools and my best shot is the British Schools.

Why?

Their salary structure is okay and it gives you an edge when you opt to travel out to English speaking countries also, it gives you value for your time.

So how do I teach in British Schools

That's where I need your opinion as I studied Electrical/Electronics Engineering at a Federal Polytechnic and I graduated with a Lower Credit.

What additional qualifications do I need to stand out?
How best can I be prepared/stationed for such jobs?

Any other additional information will be of help as I want to do something with my life not just waking up everyday to a routine that never ends!

Thanks as I expect your response.

I'll like to know, how did you walk through your Hnd to get the PGDE!

Kindly help!

We are on the same page. Mine is to leave Nigeria intoto. we are nothing but slaves to this politicians. imagine me spent years in school up to M.Ed only to be receiving 60k for more than six years now, with no penny added is the highest level of slavery and incubation of poverty. I refused to be poor. I have totally loss hope on this job, The fact remains that this secondary school teaching job is only good for women.Hence, would seek for greener pastures outside Nigeria. It's now that i have clearly seen the reasons why most state public/civil servants ends up in poverty. If i can't receive up to 100k naira per month as a teacher with all my certificates (ND, HND, PGDE,M.ED, NIM and TRCN) then it's better for me to work as a security guard at UAE and earned up to 250k naira per month. Enough is enough! I'm getting older everyday and need to have some investments for my children. I wouldn't like my children to asked me in future, where was i when my mates were acquiring properties and investments for their children? God forbid!
