stillwater:
I'd rather watch Yoruba movies than the half baked goods Nollywood aka Igbowood produce every day. You would see a man that do not fit the position he's trying to portray with thick Igbotic accent trying to Americanize his way of speaking. What the hellhuh I'd prefer they speak Igbo instead of the phoney accent that I hear. You would also see a man that has not eaten for two days acting as MD of a company not to talk of the second abi tenth hand suit he's wearing. No quality, just nonsense!!!!!!
Better continue with your Yorubawood LoL and leave our nollywood alone! people can not be dumber than this!!
I've never watched those local Yoruba dramas and i have no intention of doing it nor am i complaining

I am no fan of Nollywood but i know with time they will get better and i can not tell you the name of 10 nollywood stars

@luca
I know there are lots of Yoruba multi millionaires that can make Yorubawood bigger than Hollywood cheesy, let them go ahead and do it instead of whining like pussycats here

I know jealousy will not let you people see beyond your miserable noses!! Nollywood started with this igbo film called "Living in bondage"

D-reloaded:
Out of all the garbage written by others so far, I agree with this.

I'm watching a Yoruba movie at the moment by Sayid Balogun titled "Mi Ose Kogba" and it has Caro Ekeme, Lilian Bach and Zach Oriji in it. Caro & Lillian actually act better in this than they do in most of their English film. It's amusing really.

My problem with "Nollywood" is that they try to be exclusive which isnt cool considering the fact that the "Nolly" stands for Nigeria, not just one tribe. In some "Nollwyoof" ovies, you have people from other tribes playing parts that were specifically written for a Yoruba person to play. How does that make sense. Am i to believe out of the 140 million Nigerians, they can't find one yOruba person to play that particular role? It's quite ridiculous.
adding more garbage!!

Nobody is holding any ethnic group from making their own "wood" .
Neither are the igbos giving out permition for movie production in Nigeria, you can make your own movie and call it nollywood and nobody will question you

Bunch of haters and jealous things!! cheesy

Abeg the babe na gold digger!! If i am the guy in question i will do worse than that!! How could you ask him for money just when he barely left back to his base? Did it ever occur to you that he might be without cash having spent almost all in Nigeria, You were busy making noise about his avoiding you because of money when he should be the one making noise for your greediness

You're a very greedy girl. Who doesn't know how much renting a house can cost in Nigeria? could be the guys one month salary and just after leaving Naija!! he needed that money more than you.

Even if you were asking him for a loan (which i so much doubt), you could've waited for him to sit comfortably before raining demands on him. But he's a wise guy and he saw the person in you on time and avoided you

How did you come about the apartment, the money or you stayed somewhere else until you got paid? that's what you should have done earlier.

Barely one month into a relationship, you don't even know a shit about him or what his work is and how much he's earning and you wanted money from him just like that.

SHAME ON YOU

All you guys talking in favour of BA's action are exactly what is wrong with Nigeria and Blacks at large.

First although you don't have a confirmed BA view on this, you are more than willing to accept with prejudice that it has to be the Nigerian's fault, when will this self hate stop.

What happened to standing up for your own, people like you disgust me, you actually think you are intelligent but a far cry from it, people you are the types of idiots who sold their fellow beings as salve because they think they deserve it.

So we should now start thanking BA because they haven't thrown us of their planes more often, you should be ashamed of that statement. If you actually do know anything, you would understand that the british fun seeking holiday crowd are actually one of the most unrully in the world.

We are Nigeria, we are not perfect, but when any Airline in the world, throws 136 of us of the plane, it matters not if they have justification, but they have to answer to the Nigerian public. We need to learn to stand up for ourselves, support each other, because no one else will.

I am Nigerian, and I love you all.
My friend you're a very wise person!! don't mind all those ITK set of people here defending their british masters

Come and see british tourists here in Palma de mallorca, all drunk and unruly, walking the streets of a city wearing only bikini or pants all in the name of seeking sun (thank God they get a well deserved fine if they do it again now)

i think you should have called both of them bigots like I just did so you don't come off as being biased. But I get
your point.

This place needs to be moderated badly.
You're right my dear, I'd been called a tribalist before because of this kind of situation. and i will not let that happen again
I will always explain myself to the fullest so that i am not taken as a tribalist

Personally, I think both Sheniqua and Arnold are very ignorant people. Arnold kept calling Sheniqua a bigot, but he is a
bigot himself
. They are both bigots.
That was my point!! A pot calling a kettle black
TravelRe: Your Experiences With Eating And Your Funny Stories Of Your Trips by romeo(m): 11:28am On May 03, 2008
Texcee:
That's my point, why aren't you against both tribablists ? Why concentrate on one ?

This is what I am getting at.
I am against him because he was asking her to Go to Bifraworld and leave Nairaland. this place belongs to all

He can attack her person and not using her to attack a whole tribe
TravelRe: Your Experiences With Eating And Your Funny Stories Of Your Trips by romeo(m): 11:22am On May 03, 2008
Texcee:
She actually made the babalawo comment on this thread which was uncalled for. Even Trooe reacted to this. This is where it all started.
You should try not to be biased when mediating, they both said terrible things about other tribes.
Yes she was very wrong by saying that and did you see me say anything to Trooe? no i did not because she was right and i am not defending Sheniqua but against the other tribalist called Arnold1
TravelRe: Your Experiences With Eating And Your Funny Stories Of Your Trips by romeo(m): 11:14am On May 03, 2008
Texcee:
Actually, both Sheniqua and Arnold are tribalists. They have both made bitter remarks about tribes. You should condemn both of them,
not just arnold.
You are right!! So far in this thread Sheniqua has not said anything degrading to the Yoruba nation other than crack a joke and the joke was not well taken by some people. and she was wrong

And i was not arguing if she was right or wrong but that the person attacking her is a tribalist too, and he's trying so hard to make himself a saint. His second post in this nairaland was about the Igbo people and he copied and pasted it in this board from somewhere

All i am asking for is Respect for our different ethnicities

It is owned by a yoruba man isn't it ?

Yes, this site is owned by a yoruba man and if Nwando aka sheniqua can't live with it, then she can move on to
biafraworld.com and let Nairaland be.
Like i said before, this forum is SMF (simple machine forum)!!!

You can equally go to http://www.yorubanation.org/ for your Yoruba rants and don't come here to tell any Nigerian to leave Nairaland because the person that uploaded the SMF software happens to be a Yoruba man
