oziomatv: I think there is sense in what xiomarra is saying, We Nigerians we don't have home, we get killed even in a place we belongs and call home. It's time we carry out a bloody revelution to stop this political rapes we encounter in Nigeria. We should been better off living in our own land. No matter how comfortable I'm living in abroad am not welcomed by the natives of the land. Let's face the truth for once. Have you gotten your one way ticket to Naija? back your words up with some little action |

Kobojunkie: Keep working on trying to insult instead of following the debate that is going on on the thread. Whenever you come around growing up and realizing that the world does not only exist in your mind, you can maybe put aside your issues and join the actual debate then . He did not insult you in any form!! rather he made very interesting points which you ingnored by attacking him without making any effort to respond!! just my own opinion |

Family › Re: Isn't This A Total Waste ? by romeo(m): 8:16pm On May 13, 2008 |
sheniqua: This is most common amongst Igbos. Why does society still expect a man who has emigrated to the USA or Europe to build a befitting mansion in his hometown/village. A home he'll only spend time in perhaps 3 weeks max once every couple of years. A home he'll spend large amounts to erect, pay security men to guard and maintain and to add insult to injury he'll forever be replacing the amenities that have been stolen by robbers from time to time. please what are your views. why wouldn't a small, cheaper bungalow do afterall it's not your permanent abode. Why are you complaining? getting pressure from home? People build houses according to their pockets or tastes!! This is not an igbo thing alone, every immigrant from all works of life that understands the proverbial "log of wood in th pond that will never become a crocodile no matter how long they stay there", must try and put up a house whether it is a duplex or bungalow depends on you and nobody is going to force you, if you like build a bungalow like that of a local palm wine tapper or do your bungalow with taste and class. Life is all about competition and the moment you put yourself in a plane to leave the shores of Nigeria---------ehmm you're in it |

tonyawestb: I think this is madness that we are still discussing these issues. It should not matter where you are from as long as the heart is pure, you could be with someone from the same back ground and not have the same interest or/ undersatnding about culture because we all have different upbringing and morals. It sounds like tribal war to me, which been going on for centuries, it not just an American and African matter. Look into our generations, we been doing this for years! Some Africans can pretend it does'nt happen there but your just fooling yourself! whats going on right now in Sudan, Congo, Rawada, The Beafar war in Nigeria, is that not genocide! We Americans do it too, We display ignorance to our own heritage. PLESE STOP THE MADNESS! Joblo what is aproper nigerian women, are you not human and make mistakes, therfore there is no perfection as far is GOD is concern, get over yourself, this why we get no where as a people, where to busy making a difference in each other, planatation mentallity. I come from an intergrated family, half Jamaican and Italian mother and African American father, I was born and bred here in USA. And I know for a fact I don't always agree with things here, I'm not into hip hop, Ilove my traditional jazz, I don't speak slang I'm educated and Ilove people and have traveled. Very different from your stereotypes of the African American. And most of all of love my roots from all perspectives, and I'm always open to learning! My spouse is Nigerian we get along because he educated and has an open mind, he's new generation. He learns my traditions and I learn his, even his food, like eba, joloff rice, egusi and etc. but thats who I'am! Other people don't like it, but the hell with them, we doing GODS work by loving each other and breaking the circle. Is'nt taht what life is about, seeking righteousness and loving each other. Please lets live for today, and change our sense of character. We are all one people put here for a purpose other thaN FIGHTING EACH OTHER. p.s SISTER IF YOU LOVE HIM FOLLOW YOUR HEART WITH PATIENCE, UNDERSTANDING, AND AN OPEN MIND, BE WILLING TOO LEARN FROM EACH OTHER IT IS ABLESSING. ONE LOVE I bet you're on the wrong thread |
