That's the problem. Our house is divided. Some of us are offline and some are online. How will uber or taxify take us serious.
Bro. you still think the surge was caused by drivers not being online?

There is a mass action to go OFFLINE by Monday if UBER doesn't reverse this.
Bro. to what end? going offline won't solve anything. taxify 's rates are similar so what are we saying? if uber reverses the riders will move on to taxify. Uber is trying to remain relevant and do you blame them?

my opinion on this matter is that uber should stop being greedy and reduce that 25% nonsense. I think that is the crux of this whole matter. Uber cares less about drivers welfare and that is the only thing taxify has as leverage over them. Uber is safer for riders and we all know that. taxify is all about pushing away the incumbent and they can make any promise and do anything to achieve that. that last time Nigerians voted for "change" where has it gotten them?

uber's 1400/hr promotion to me is just nonsense. review your percentage downward to say 12% and you will achieve the same results as the promotion thing. you keep your riders, you keep your drivers.

going on strike isn't going to work because those drivers going on strike have weekly obligations to fulfill. and trust me, a lot of drivers shouting strike strike won't go on strike on the said day because the truth is that if there are shortage of drivers on that day, there will be more trips for drivers who didn't go on strike and more money to be made.

Uber and taxify are like pdp and apc. it is just a matter of choosing the less evil one. if you think you are chasing uber out of nigeria, wait then till taxify becomes the only option and watch them come up with their own bullshit.

Please can someone tell me what's happening, I have been trying to go online for 2days now, the app does not come up, was just booting, I uninstalled and reinstalled but same. Has anybody experience this? when I contacted the Uber help, I was told the vehicle has issue and we resolved the issue yesterday. For me to come online today has been a problem, the app did not come up at all.
checked your Internet connection? if connection isn't strong it doesn't come up.

so I heard. It means that when u take a rider to ikorodu,u will have to burn ur fuel without a rider back to maryland? Not to talk of taking a rider to far distance like ogijo.
basically what happens. some drivers cancel ikorodu trips.

Thank you Romeo for your response. As a newbie, please I will need your input on the following:

1. Choice of device for best battery and navigation experience

2. Choice areas for optimum turnover and security
3. Best car charger I could use

Thank you so much
choice of device would be any approved uber device.

choice areas do not exist. else every uber driver would be heading there. you have to be online as much as possible.

as regards security, the island is the safest at night and some parts of ikeja and surulere. all in all you are responsible for your own safety.

new age chargers work for me. I don't know the best charger.

Please help o!

My driver account was activated on Monday but up till this very time, I haven't received any trip request despite being online for 12 hours. The only one I could say came through was not successfully accepted perhaps due to network issue around that time. Location was around Ikeja City Mall then.

The major online hours have been spent around Ikorodu area. But the sad thing is this. Even when I'm online and I try to check my status using the rider app, I always get the message that "uber service is currently not available in your area" despite being online on my driver app.

I use Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. Someone should please help.
Bro. Uber has deactivated their service from ikorodu and satellite town. you will never ever receive a request from ikorodu

Hi Guys...... What's your opinion on putting up a 2009 Lexus RX350 on uber platform as opposed to selling it and putting the funds into something elsehuh
don't

it is better you sell it and buy a 2006 corolla and put on uber.

You are a fool sire...
Totally unnecessary.

no one can dictate to the owner how much he should give his car out. if you feel the price is too high for you, you can seek a lower one.

I am a driver and I don't see why I cannot deliver 55k weekly on higher purchase. mind you that I am not speaking for all drivers here. you have to understand that there are categories of uber drivers. not all are smart. not all can navigate. not all know lagos roads well and not all can make up to 70k weekly.

I personally haven't made below 120k a week since I joined uber. this 120k is after uber has taken out their fee.

if a car owner gives me a tokunbo car with zero issues and I cannot deliver 55k weekly then there is something wrong somewhere.

I am currently on a 45k weekly rental but switching to a 55k hp agreement next week.

not all uber drivers can do that, doesn't mean it's not doable.
