Gbenga's dead body was carried from his blue Honda accord car, he was heading towards port Harcourt for an urgent meeting when he had a lurid accident, the accident was so ghastly that it claimed his life. He passed out few minutes after his car had a diversion from the main road, Gbenga bade the world goodnight, he was welcomed into the realm of another world.
Families and friends cried and wailed, Tomi couldn't believe her ears when she heard the news,she actually thought her ears failed her but she had accept the fact that the father of her son was dead.

She couldn't fathom out why life was miserable for her, she had been considering going back to her husband when the fatal news struck her. She held herself together and swore to give Daniel a bright future. She knew she was the only one there for the little boy

Some months later, Tomi received a letter from Gbenga's lawyer, Mr Campbell that she would be summoned soon as she needed to be there when Gbenga's will would be read.
Tomi tossed up and down all night, she couldn't believe Gbenga wrote a will, she was puzzled, was Gbenga going to consider her, her son?
She fell into a deep slumber when the clock struck 4:00am

Mike and Sandra were preparing for their introduction, It was a beautiful Sunday evening, Mike proposed!. She felt her feet swimming in cloud nine!, She was more than fulfilled. Mike had actually taken his time to ensure he married a good wife and surprisingly, Sandra changed for good, She didn't even know what changed her, she was touched when the wonderful couples reconciled months back, since then she vowed never to allow her marriage be like Helen's. She wanted the perfect marriage for herself.
As the introduction day drew nearer, She hoped for a better future with her darling husband!

Rekia turned her back, she tapped her feet continuously on the tiled floor, She wasn't ready to believe Edwin.
Edwin moved closer to her, he moved a strand of hair on her face to the side where her pink ribbon was.
Rekia finally spoke for the first time in thirty minutes.
"Why was she dressed like that in your home?"
"For Christ sake, that was my sister! my blood! I guess she should be free to her brother" Edwin answered, he was already getting pissed off. He wiped the beads of sweat that was already forming a pool on his forehead

"Wait, there is something I don't understand here, you are jealous of my sister around me. Holy Lord!"
"I am not jealous!" Rekia shot back at him. She looked much more prettier whenever she frowned or was angry.
They looked deeply at eachother's eyes, Edwin held her gaze for some minutes. Deep inside him, he could feel his spirit giving him a go-ahead, he took some steps forward. He glared at her with so much love in his eyes. Rekia was loosing it, she couldn't help but fall his charming look, He pressed a kiss on her lips, there was a light-out, he pressed more kisses on her lips with all the strength in him. Rekia fell on the sofa, she rubbed her hands around his neck, their arms fitted together securely, They kissed hungrily.

Edwin disengaged suddenly. Rekia was scared. He melted her heart away when he spoke those three most romantic words "I Love you"
Rekia felt as if she was just hit vigorously. She couldn't hold those words back inside her

Tomi and Helen packed the Christmas decorations they bought from shops, they went into the house and carefully put them on the rug. The Christmas tree thrilled Tomi, Helen went Into the kitchen and returned with a cup of chilled mango juice. She switched on the TV and they went on and on with numerous gists of the day.
Tomi sighted Nelson laughing heartily on his walk stand, the little boy was growing very fast. He already grew some set of milk teeth in his lower jaw. This reminded Tomi of Daniel, salt water drizzled down her cheeks. she quickly wiped it off before Helen could see it.
"Tomi, When did you say the Christmas banquet is?" Helen chipped in as she munched on her popcorn.

"Melvin, you need to understand that am married, let us put all that happened between us away, please, am a married woman with an issue" Becca's voice boomed behind the bar
"Just like that?" Melvin shot back at her
There was silence, Becca sighed, picked her pause and took some steps forward
"Let bygones be bygones" With this, she said her goodbyes
She drove to her home, There was a lot on her mind, she missed her mother-in-law, the duo had gotten along quite so fast that she felt her absence.

She alighted from her black toyota camry '07 and walked carefully inside, she checked for her husband's car, he had not returned from his bank. She removed her open toes shoe and made to go to the kitchen to prepare lunch. Her phone rang from the bedroom where she left it. she strolled to the room to pick the call. It was Patrick. she breathed inwardly as she picked the call
"I can see you find delight in spending time with that son of a bitch than picking up your daughter from the crèche"
Becca freezed
"Oh my! Tayo!" She exclaimed and hung the call. She quickly picked her keys and quickly went the wheels
"Has Patrick been stalking me?" She pondered in her mind as she drove down the lane

Tomi knocked on the door, the knob turned fleetly, Tomi could feel two pairs of eyes on her, She had waited that long in order for her little Daniel to be weaned.
"Good morning, is Mr. Gbenga in?" She asked in a shaky tone.
The two girls exchanged glances. They paved way for her and she walked into the furnished living room with Daniel on her shoulder, she rolled a small box inside and had her seat. Gbenga emerged minutes later, Tomi exhaled a sigh.
She stood up and faced him face to face
"Gbenga, this is your baby, Note this, he mustn't suffer, he mustn't!" As she said these words, tears rolled down her cheeks. she could feel the agony of a mother departing with her child, she dropped the baby's box and stormed out of the room. The two girls that opened the door initially stared at her colossally.

Daniel stirred and wailed out loud, Gbenga instructed the girls, Susan and titi carried him and rocked it to bed. They watched over it every second that passed. Later in the evening, Gbenga took time to explain to them he was a brother to them. They screamed in joy, this was just the one and only brother they had been expecting. They pressed kisses on his cheeks, he chuckled.

Edwin picked his phone for the one hundredth time, he tried her number again but it wasn't picked, he threw the phone on the bed. He plodded to the bathroom and took a quick bathe. he dressed up hastily and drove out of his apartment, he arrived at Rekia's residence in few minutes as there was no traffic. He pressed the bell and he was asked to come in.
Seyi was dressed in a tank top and jean trousers, she was reading a novel. Edwin walked quietly into the living room, he inwardly prayed he would not be chased out.

"Hello, is She in?" Edwin found his voice and spoke
Rekia emerged from a room, the knife she was holding fell from her hand as she stared at Edwin with shock and hatred. Slowly, she went low.
"Rekia!" they screamed.

"I won't take it from you any longer!, Melvin this! Melvin that!, anytime your phone rings its always Melvin, I won't take that from you, you are a married woman!" Korede shot at her, Becca just stared at her husband, there was silence, just then, Becca's phone rang.

Rekia exchanged a long glance with her, her heart pondered fast. she hissed and turned to leave allowing the tears she had been holding to spill.
"Edwin, Oh! Edwin" She muttered apoplectically with all her strength

Just then, The door creaked open
"Mr David, I think I said..." Mrs Tella Gentry kept quiet as she sighted another figure.
"Oh! welcome Sir and ma, You can have your seats there" Mrs Gentry said beaming from ear to ear with her enchanting smile, that was her ultimate tool for calming hot and difficult couples.
Mrs Gentry punched the telecom.
"I had a client in my office, Why did you allow these come in?" She asked her receptionist almost in whispers
"Ma, I assumed the previous clients had left when I saw Mr. David driving out of the premises" The receptionist answered sharply
"OK then" She exhaled a sigh and the call ended.

"We ain't really in a hurry" The woman spoke
"Its OK ma" Mrs Gentry replied
"Now, back to you Mrs Dominic, oh! my! why are you shedding tears again?"
"He left me and went, that is the man you want me to forgo my son for?" She sobbed loudly

The woman who was watching closely the conversation between the other two women stood up and walked to the table. She pulled down a seat and sat down.
"Ma, I don't know what the problem is, but whatever is wrong with you or your marriage, please calm down, I hate to see women cry" She spoke
Tomi burst into tears again, She throttled. Mrs gentry and the other woman took her to a rest room
"Oh! Lord, this woman is going crazy" The woman breathed silently
Tomi was taken to the restroom, the room was well ventilated naturally and artificially which made her relaxed.
"I guess the issue will be better left adjourned" Mrs Gentry said as she made her way out of the restroom.
The other woman nodded and kept both eyes on Tomi, She could really feel her pains.
She joined Mrs Gentry in her office, The woman and her husband stated their mission, The woman had earlier came to file for a divorce which was not yet completed.
"We've resolved our differences, We ain't into any dissolution whatsoever again" The man spoke confidently. Mrs Gentry had always respected his wits and aura, She gave them some papers to sign. They did and the case withdrawn.

"Honey, you just go downstairs, I'll join you soon" The woman spoke. The man proceeded downstairs.
The woman carefully turned the knob, she enterer and saw a weeping woman.
"Madam, please stop crying, it won't solve anything" She urged
"Who are you?" Tomi asked amidst tears. The woman smiled
"An introduction is always important, Am Mrs Helen Williams" She smiled enthrallingly
"But I don't know you"
"Relax ma'am, I was also a client here"
"Please, What's wrong, What's making you shed tears. I've also been in a bogus marriage, I understand your pains, please feel free to talk to me" Helen said with so much concern in her eyes.
Tomi narrated all her experiences, She sobbed uncontrollably.
"so sad, If you ask me, I think you should return the baby, I understand the force of attraction between you and your son because I am a mother also. Please, give the baby back to his father now that he's so young and doesn't understand what's going on, Babies are resilient, they adapt to any environment, Make things right dear, build your home over again with just you and your husband and since your husband is now fertile. you both can produce wonderful babies." Tomi said
"No, No, No, No!" Tomi screamed
"You don't want to hurt your son, do you?, You don't want to hurt him by Your husband's attitude towards him knowing fully well he's not his son, My dear, Your husband will surely call him a bastard someday and you wouldn't want that, why don't you let the boy go to his dad, Remember, blood is thicker than water"
"Yea, Blood is thicker than water" Mrs Gentry chipped in.
"Make the right decision now dear"They both incited and hugged her. Helen's phone beeped
" Oh! We've been keeping my husband waiting! " Helen exclaimed.
"Come with us dear, come meet my hsuand, Patrick, we can take you home , your husband is gone" Helen said as she tickled Tomi
Tomi laughed heartily.
"Don't allow any man weigh you down, they are not worth it. Be strong, you are a woman" Mrs Gentry said and waved her off.
"Goodbye!" Tomi and Helen chorused together

There was a constrained silence in the car, It was only the sound of horns and hoots that filled the air, Tomi shifted uneasily, She presumed it was going to be long day, David pulled up in front of a big building, It had flour floors which was perfectly Constructed, David stole a glance at the woman beside him, Tomi let out a sigh.
She got down of the Q4 jeep, Her mind raced to and fro, her heart beat faster, She assured herself she was definitely going to be strong for the sake of her son
David spoke with the receptionist, the young lady replied "Private room 23, It's a pleasure seeing you physically, Mr. David Dominic"
David forced a smile, he ascended the stairs while Tomi followed suit, She sighed at the way the receptionist lustfully stared at David.



"Please, Come in" A woman in her middle 40's spoke. The duo sat down on the comfortable chairs, David looked flabbergasted, Tomi was stupefied, She just prayed inwardly for the section to flow perfectly.

Mrs Gentry paused and glanced at the couples before her, From her past experiences as a marriage counsellor, she could sense what the marriage was all about, the Press and media made matters worse.
She expelled a sigh and welcomed them.
"No secrecy please, Whatever we say here stays between us" Tella Gentry urged

"Now, Mrs Tomi Dominic, what went wrong?"
Tomi felt as if she had received a slap, She let the tears in her eyes flow, David stared disgustedly at her.

"David, David was the young man I fell in love with and cherished, We got married last year august. I had been hoping for a wonderful night with him, I was a virgin, not knowing he was sterile, David, this beast arranged for a man to rape me for a reason best known to him, He would go out and not come home for days, I still stayed with him and endured all, even when I had an accident which resulted into a forced labour, I couldn't talk for some months due to the vital organs affected, thanks to him, I was thinking about him that very day the accident occurred, I was dumbfounded to see, to see" Tomi stifled
"To see my husband making love to My maid, what he has never done to me" She added amidst tears
"It okay madam!" Mrs Gentry said as she exhaled a sigh.

"Mr David, do you have anything to say?"
"No, for now" He answered with a sullen expression, Mrs Gentry shrugged and spoke
"Now, I'll direct this question to you, Mr David, Do you still want to continue with this matrimony"
David looked mesmerized, as if he had been given a savage blow.
"Yes, But she has to give away her son to the father!"
"That's so callous of you" Tomi roared
"That's it, I can't continue treating that boy like mine, for Heaven's sake, let him go bear his father's name, live under the same roof with him"
There was silence, Tears rolled down Tomi's eyes profusely.
"Whose fault is it I got pregnant and had the baby? tell me, whose fault?" Tomi screamed with all the strength in her.
Mrs Gentry looked bewildered, that was not the first case she had handled, she calmed Tomi down and ordered David to excuse them.

"Tell him am not at home or something" Tomi replied disgustingly.
Risi opened the door after a while
"Small madam said make I tell you say she no dey home, come dey go"
"Tell her its her husband, She can't possibly do that, Tell her we need to talk, it affecting me, my job is also at risk, I am loosing my business partners due to our marital vices, My emotions run" David replied with turbulent ferocity

"David, get out of my house" She intensely instructed.

Tomi faced the wall and allowed the tears to spill.

"Mother, Am so sorry to say this but you must have pushed your mother-in-law, Dad once told me you gave him and his mother problems and that's why she treated you that way but my wife Rebecca Oladipo is so innocent, Please, Let her enjoy her marriage to me, Thank God Bibitayo didnt die, Please, Apologize to her tomorrow morning, goodnight" Korede stood up and was about opening the door when the door creaked open And Becca entered.
Mrs Oladipo rushed to her .
"My daughter, please forgive me of everything I have done to you, If Bibitayo had died, I would bear the guilt all the days of my remaining years to live, am sorry for making your first year in my son's home hell for you"
Surprise flustered Becca's face, She found her voice And said

The two women hugged fervidly, tears rolled down Becca's face as images of those days of anguish, torment and sorrow flashed through her mind, she banished them quickly into the darkest lockbox of the earthcrust.
Korede watched them, Twin tears rolled down His face too, It was tears of Joy.
Fresh new love sprung from the depth of Becca's heart.
It was a beautiful night of re-union.

Seyi pulled the drapes and carefully observed her well, from her head to her toes, She looked amazing in the dinner long fitted gown she wore, Her make-up was light for a flatulent evening. Seyi looked up to meet her face
"Well, Since you moved in here ever since your boss sent you out of..."
"Oh, please, you don't need to remind me of my story"
"Well, Enjoy your date" Seyi flashed an enchanting smile, exposing her beautiful gap tooth.
Rekia smiled and said "Thanks dear friends, Fry some chips for Me while am gone, is that okay?"
"Have your dinner there with him, am not cooking"
Rekia picked her bag and said"Bye girlfriend "
Seyi sighed.


Rekia got to the pizza restaurant some minutes past 7:00pm, She saw Edwin far away sipping a wine and looking around probably looking for her. She walked to his table, Edwin smiled at her, She replied with an honorable smile, Edwin pulled out a seat and she sat on it, She was all smiles.
"You look beautiful in that, but do you have to do this?"
"Do what?" Rekia's smiled twisted into a frown
"I mean borrow clothes to impress me, even if this is our first date, you needn't have gone this far"
"Don't you like it?" Rekia's voice dropped a bit, She stared at her legs
"I do, Rekia, Why did you lie to me?" Edwin asked
Rekia was speechless, she stared at her legs again
"When you dropped at the house you said was your house that day, I met a friend who supplies some materials to my firm, Because It's been long we had a business deal, I longed for a conversation with him so I paid off the cabman, He asked me what I was doing in his area and why i was In a cab, I told him everything, how we met and what you said to me, He was the one that told me you didn't own a house, you stay with a friend, You never attended a university, Rekia, You never studied civil engineering, You were chased out of your master's house because you slept with your Boss, Why did you lie?" He asked for the second time, Rekia was sobbing now, She stifled and faced him for an explanation but nothing came out of her lips.
"Look here Rekia, you shouldn't have lied, Be yourself, That won't make me think bad of you, But no matter what, we are still friends" He smiled and wiped Rekia's tears.

Tomi arrived at the church on that pleasant Saturday morning at exactly 10:15am, She sat carefully at the last pew, The congregation sent her affirmative glances, She dressed exceptionally in a beautifully sewn red laces, her headgear was tied in layers, it fitted her head perfectly, her heels spoke volumes. She had a flawless make up. She complimented all with her bow bag and accessories, She didn't know why she dressed that way herself but instinct told her something big was coming. A gentleman stared at her with the corner of his left eyes, He flashed his unsullied set of teeth at her, She winced and smiled back. Tomi gazed at Jackie's wedding gown, it was sheen, it glistered like stones of precious gems.
She searched for her son, Daniel, He was peacefully sleeping on Risi's legs.
David found it hard to concentrate on the wedding programme, He rolled his eyeballs back to Tomi, She looked so beautiful, For the one hundredth time, guilt of infidelity sprung up in him. A tear escaped through his eyes, He quickly wiped it off and focused on the programme going on, Jackie and Wayne were all smiles. Both families were filled with unspeakable happiness. David remembered how his own wedding was a year back, he wished he had made things right, he wished he had told his wife about his status, he wished he had been a responsible husband. oh! he wished he could turn the hands of time!

The church programme ended and cars rolled in sixes and sevens to the event center at Lekki phase 1. Tomi cheerfully congratulated Jackie after they had taken photographs, the latter could only sneer. Tomi shrugged and went to greet her friends, she greeted some of the ladies who were her covetties at her wedding, they requested to see her baby boy, Tomi beckoned on Risi who came with Daniel, They exclaimed when they saw the boy, When someone said the baby looker like David, Tomi only smiled and said inwardly
"Looks like David indeed"

At the event hall which was colourfully decorated in Sky blue and yellow. Exotic Cars rolled in. Tomi sighted Gbenga from afar, She cunningly escaped through the crowd into the hall. She tried avoiding eye contacts with Gbenga but she couldn't. She felt uneasy. She walked to the small hall downstairs and stared into space.

"I can see this is where you are cooling your nerves" Gbenga's voice boomed
Tomi remained silent
"Young man, why are you bent on frustrating me, That baby is my life. He's all I live for, Am sure you wouldn't come back for a baby you got through rape if it was a girl but please, don't take him away from me".
" A baby your silly husband can't produce, my son!, look here Mrs, I have exercised enough patience by folding my hands and watching my own son bear another man's name, enough of that! "

At that moment, there was tension, Tomi thought if it would be right to disclose David's status of fecundity, her phone beeped, it was a message from her friend, it was time for the junior Dominic's to have nuptial dances and she was no where to be found. Just as she strolled down to read the remaining content. David walked in, He strolled his legs and watched from his left to his right
"And what's going on here?" David questioned
"May i remind you that A year ago, we had a deal, the deal resulted into a pregnancy of course it was a closed deal, I would have forgotten about it if it was a girl, it turned out to be a boy and I want my son back, its all over the papers you ain't his father so please give me my right"
"Good. bravo! he's yours!"
"No way!, David, I won't have you give my child out to ease your silly ego, Neither of you here knew what I went through to have Daniel, David, You were sterile, you paid this heartless man here to rape me in order to cover your shame and make me think you own the child, you never bothered to think about how I would feel, on our honeymoon night of all nights! I had hoped all my life you would be the one to deflower me but I was disappointed!, David, You chose to sleep with my maid of all women, I curse the day i met you, and as for you, I won't have you take my only source of joy from me, Never!" Tomi spite out
The Small hall echoed, If a pin dropped, someone would hear the sound loud and clear, the two men went numb.

Helen sat on the sofa, It was past 5 and Mike wasn't back from his office, she wondered what delayed him, There was a knock on the door, then the bell rung, she knew it wasn't Mike because if it was him, he would not have knocked, it was definately someone not used to the house, She opened the door , She scornfully eyed Patrick and hissed
"What are you doing here?"
Patrick sat down, Helen remained standing.
Patrick cleared his thought and started a long touching speech, He ended it thus
"... I know I have offended you, please find a place in your heart to forgive me, lets make this union right. Come back my love, a real woman won't give up on her home, She will be bold enough to arrange all odds"
Patrick raised his eyes to see a teary Helen, She sobbed out loud, but then Sandra walked in and said
"Yes, please go and make things right, You are a woman, Dont run away from your problems, Go back home"
Patrick sobbed silently, he realized his mistakes right there, he promised to be a good husband, they pledged their love for eachother again, Helen wrapped their arms in Patrick's as thou she belonged there forever.

"Poh" there was a loud husky sound. Mike Had just popped the champagne, Sandra engulfed Mike in a bear hug, Mike was proud of the step she took.
"Am proud of you dear, you are begining to fulfil your promises of changing for good, What are we waiting for, drink on!"
They laughed heartily, Little Nelson clapped And cheered, Love filled the air as Mike and Sandra, Helen and Patrick kissed passionately

Sandra plodded out of the bathroom, She picked her favorite lotion and creamed her body softly, She opened her fully stocked wardrobe and brought out a yellow gown. She wore the gown, It fitted her perfectly.
She applied a simple make up and wore Yellow heels. She looked so beautiful. She picked her keys and descended her duplex. She wheeled her car out into the streets.

She arrived at the estate some minutes to 8:00am. She finally founded Patrick's house about 8:15am. She pressed the bell and waited for a response.

Patrick was knotting his tie when he opened the door, Sandra inwardly admired the physique of the man before her, She swallowed her lust figments and finally spoke after some minutes of silence
"I am Sandra Macauley, You must be Patrick Williams" Sandra breathed
"Oh! yes, I am. Your name doesn't ring a bell" A frown creased on Patrick's face, He was running out of patience, Since it was a workday, He needed to be at the bank very early but there was a lady keeping him.
Sandra made an attempt to Enter into the room, Patrick stood rigidly at the door.
"May I come in, We've got to talk"
"I don't have all the time in the world, Whatever you want to say, please make it snappy" Patrick fumed
Sandra remained calm, on a good day, she would have flared and ranted up and down but since she wanted to accomplish a mission, She remained calm and forced out an enchanting smile.

Patrick put a call through his assistant, He informed him that he would be a bit late, The latter harmonized and the phone went dead.

"Am all ears now" Patrick said as he bit his lower lip.
"I must confess you have a good apartment here, Am impressed" Sandra smiled viciously.
"Can you go straight to the point please"
Sandra sighed then began
"Your wife..........

Rekia stood by the roadside, She flagged down a cab and sat at the backseat, She cursed inwardly as she beheld the sight of the raunchy seats. There was a foul smell in the car. She just sat like a tossed rat and sighed in disgust.

A tall handsome gentleman flagged down the cab, Rekia wondered why a man with the way he appeared would want to board a cab, She shifted for him.

He started a chitchat with Rekia after a while
" You look smashingly pretty in that gown"
"Oh! Thank you" Rekia almost jumped out of her skin as he spoke, He spoke in a seductive tone.
"So what's the name" He asked
"Rekia"
"Nice name"
* Actually, my car broke down as i was coming back from my firm"
"You own a firm?"
"Sure, Am a business administrator, finished from University of Port Harcourt, class of 2012"
"Waow"
"Enough about me, tell me about yourself"
"Eem.. myself?"
"Yea"
"Actually, I am a graduate of university of Abuja, Civil engineering, class of 2013" Rekia felt uncomfortable with her last statement, She wasn't really good at lying, She was surprised how this one slipped out of her lips flawlessly, She smiled inwardly.
