Oya oooo...you people should gather round. It's my turn to testify. I've been reading people's testimony since part 3, now it's my turn grin

God has finally freed me from the shackles of IELTS (shudders at the mention of that test) after 3 attempts.

As a pharmacist, I've written extremely difficult exams
in pharmacy school and passed them all. Never have i imagined I'll be humbled by an examination in my lifetime.

Actually started preparation very early, around june, cause i wanted to "blast the test in one sitting ". Started with listening and was doing excellently in all my practices. I however concentrated more on writing, since almost all the 6.5 I've been seeing on this thread has always been on writing. Registered for November 10th with MOD after almost 5 months of practice, so you understand how high my confidence was. Well.....

1st attempt: LRSW 7,6.5,7.5,7.5.

The 7 in Listening was understandable cos somehow, mysteriously, i just panicked in the middle of the listening test and couldn't follow the conversation. There was this sudden urge to get all the answers right that made me panicked.

Reading, however, was a shock. shocked i could have sworn I'll get a 9 in it. If not for the listening score, i would have reqiested for a remark.

Surprisingly, writing turned out better than i had expected.

Well, i shook that one off and registered for the next one, this time with intense focus on listening.

2nd attempt, MOD, LRSW 7.5, 9, 8, 7.

this time i was completely devastated cos i was very sure of, at least, an 8 in the listening. I followed every part of the conversation and was totally calm throughout the test. This one so angered me that i applied for a remark. Still awaiting the outcome though. My 46k must return to me cheesy

I gathered all my life's savings and registered for the 3rd time. It was hell surviving without a single penny. By this time i was so used to the listening tests in the Cambridge series that i could predict the answers. So i delved into youtube and Practised all the tests i could download.
Went for the exam and....

3rd attempt: MOD, 19/1/19 LRSW 9,7.5,7.5,7.

Funny enough, during the test, the same panic that came over me in the first attempt came again, but this time, i heard the answers, just that i wasn't following the conversation the way i should, so i wasn't sure of about 7 answers. After the test i gave up, & started thinking of how I'll raise the money for the next attempt.

Later in the evening, i decided to visit the IELTS chat room on telegram where the answers are usually discussed after a test. Infact i almost had a heart attack when over 6 answers i wrote did not match what majority were sharing. To make matters worse, the majority were unanimous about the answers.
Well, since i got a 9 in my listening, i guess i was the only one that got the correct answers among the bunch then. cheesy

ECA: was completed since December with PEBC. Thanks to baba Salford1 who came to my rescue at the dying minute. God bless you sir.
Current CRS score sits at 450.

POF: Absolutely no hope for this one yet. Just going blindingly on. But I'll rather get that ITA then decline it for lack of funds than sit idly by while this rare opportunity passes by. At least, in years to come, when my children ask why i didnt migrate when everyone was doing so, I'll show them my ITA as proof that i did tried my best to give them a better life.

Thanks to @Bellniki and @Reemefolaks for their wonderful support especially at those times when it mattered most.

I think I am now a banafide member of this thread cheesy and will be open to any questions about the process, especially for Pharmacists.
I hope to do a detailed breakdown of the ECA steps with PEBC too so others can learn.

And as for those of you who think this testimony is trivial, i used to think like you: "is it not just IELTS?". well, here we are after 3 humiliating attempts.
may you never experience this nightmare of multiple IELTS attempt. grin

I know many are still battling with the test, don't give up please. Keep pushing, and the next one will be definitely yours. Last last, it will end in praise for all of us.

Hi Youngrx, I’m damn happy for you. I palpitate at the thought of IELTS o...infact I don’t have the courage to attempt it yet lol ....pls help a sister....did you have to wait for your pebc no before sending your docs to them?
Thanks @youngRx
PS: I admire your determination...we die here!!! cheesycheesy grin
Hello fellow pharmacist smiley,
Yes you can claim for internship. For the NYSC role you can also claim points, however because your role was as a lecturer, i doubt if you can claim points as a pharmacist but should be able to do so if you can combine NOC's (think some people here have done that successfully) and of course you can claim points with community pharmacy experience. Check the pharmacists NOC job description for further clarifiction

Okay thank you smiley

Good morning y’all.Welldone guys! Pls I need help. I’m a Pharmacist here in naija but from what I’ve read,is it possible to claim internship, NYSC and community practice as work experience(s)??
I asked because my internship was in an hospital, NYSC was in a college of health as a lecturer and now post-nysc, I work in a community pharmacy(over a year experience). The hospital and community practice(s) are similar in job description but the NYSC is different .....so can I use the three? And if Yes,pls for that NYSC, will my certificate suffice or I need to go to my PPA for reference letter?

Pls help me.....thanks in advance...

Please, somebody should help regarding this....thank you!

PEBC...Please

It will be evaluated for like 8 weeks.
Prepare for IELTS

you can mention my name if you have any other question!

@daremum thanks
From my understanding now, pebc is responsible for our ECA right? Not WES or IQAS like others ....sheyy?

Also, the fees to be paid $325 and $600 for the licensing exams will come in much later after the PR processing or we have to pay those before the evaluation can be done?

Hi rosheedah
You need to evaluate your result with PENc.
Write IELTS
Then enter the pool!
All the best

Ok thanks but do you mean PEBC or there’s another body called PENC? Just to clarify pls

Let me try. I stand corrected. I think you should check what your crs score will be without masters and see if you stand a chance. If the score is low then you can give the msc a try to boost your score for EE. I heard PEBC evaluates BSc Pharm as Msc (I do not know much about it). Please check the cic website to confirm or search on the previous threads or better still, wait for the seniors to explain. If it is true, then you may not need the msc to boost your crs score.

Ohh okay thanks....

Hello Rosheedat, welcome to the thread.
With my own little knowledge, I will recomend EE cos its a more real migration process. After applying for masters and fulfilling all the criteria needed, you may be denied visa. However, once you follow the procesures for EE, your migration dream will come to pass.

As for the steps, commence your credential assessment while you prepare and write IELTS. You need both to enter the pool, and your intenship and NYSC can be your work experience. Wish you all the best!

Okay thanks for that internship and nysc tip, I was beginning to get scared for that part too.

Also pls ehn, now that I read that the proof of fund can’t be money borrowed or something like that, what if I have a sponsor cos the money in my account can’t fund the process? Can that pass for that requirement?

Also shey when I get my PR eventually, then I can start thinking of registering with pebc for the licensing exams et al? Or I must have registered in the EE process?

Hello everyone, well done guys and congrats to those who have scaled through successfully. I bless the day I stumbled on this page in the course of my inquiries. Anyway, I have been reading through and it's been such a looooong read and I'm not even half done.
Okay, I'm at the initial stage of the migration intent and now I'm stuck.

First of, I studied pharmacy, just completed my nysc and now intend to commence the relocation processing. Which of the methods is better, faster or recommended.....express entry or applying for masters?. Also, if it's EE, at what stage does the pebc registration come in? before the ECA?And again, Should I write IELTS 1st or just begin the ECA regardless? cos I saw somethings about boosting one's CRS scores and a lot of steps.

And if it's via masters, I've read that it's an advantage to write IELTS cos it may come in handy later but then in this case, it is the Academic type that is acceptable while for EE, it's the General IELTS.

Pls epp me

pls I need help ooo, someone should kindly respond biko.

Thanks so much.
Please if you didn't do balloting how did you get hostel?

You're welcome.
Hostel in CMUL is different from Akoka so you get to spend a year as opposed to Akoka which is sessional. Then,we just apply in the student affairs dept and hostel used to be sure for us but I think the earlier the better. Also, they used to give preference to part 1 and final year students so relatively, if you apply as a part 1 student, you have a better chance of getting a bed space.

I got bed spaces throughout my schooling years though, talk about luck maybe.....

I'd like to know the courses taken in 200 level 1st semester, specifically and the textbooks I can use for them.
I would also like to know about the campus. How is it compared to akoka campus? Is there a sports centre or anything like that there?
The hostels. How many are there? Is there any preference during balloting?
I'm sorry if I'm bombarding you with questions. I've been looking for someone who can answer them for a long time.

Quite a no of questions truly. Anyway, there should be an orientation by PANS(Pharmacy Association of Nigerian Students) for you guys when the session newly resumes and all your questions would be fully answered. I finished in 2014 so there might have been some changes. Regarding textbooks, I don't think you should get any just yet. Once you resume, you'll know better cos you might get some soft copies and can then decide which and which to buy.

Firstly, pharmacy has 4/5 depts.....Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Clinical pharmacy, Pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical microbiology. You'll be doing some 'borrowed courses' from other depts like Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, General studies(GST), Biochemistry. Some courses are pre-requisites to their subsequents in the next level so be at alert. For e.g. I can't really remember them but let's say pch 201 is a pre-req for pch 301...it means if you don't pass the 201, you can't register for 301 and that's an automatic extra year. I'm not trying to scare you in any way but just to prepare your mind shikena. A lot of practicals as well.

Needless to say, Pharmacy is a challenging! course but trust me it's worth it at the end of the day.

Sports centre? Do you intend participating in sports? There's a basketball field and mini tennis court though.

Accommodation....we didn't use to do balloting then but I don't know how it is done now.

Generally, cos it's situated close to the hospital, it is a serene and conducive environment. You'll be fine and just always make sure you are up and doing....ask questions when in doubt.

Pele...Welcome to our noble profession smiley

1. You let your friends ridicule your girlfriend and even come here to tell us? You may think you're smart but you're dumb.

2. If you were that intelligent you would know you don't love her.

3. I can tell by your gf's comeback that she's not dull.

4. I do not need to tell you she doesn't have to be politically inclined to be considered interesting.

5. Since you can't identify btw love and infatuation, l can help with that. You're infatuated. Pls stop sleeping with her. Let her go. Trust me another man will love her "stupidity" and would infact be amused by it.

6. You're very silly. It's an insult to say "she's good in bed" but very dull.

7. To be honest, get lost you're not worth it.

8. If it's "fork" you want there are girls who do it for the money. You know where to find them.

9. This is my own way. I'll not pamper you with words. I mean, you don't have to like what I say.

*Ladies pls stop having premarital sex. There's no respect in letting a man bed you before marriage. It's simple like that.

EDITED: I knew from a tender age l wanted to be a chartered accountant. My dad wanted me to pursue science though cos l excelled in science subjects. Point is, my love for commercial and science subjects was unconditional. But history and government l hated with a passion. I genuinely lacked interest. I did not only HATE politics, I didn't understand it. The thought of listening to news or reading those tiny newspaper lines gave me the shivers. Until my 2nd year in the university when I met a man that would change everything.

A man that was unbelievably intelligent and interesting enough to inspire such interests in me. A man that loved me.

I do not only love politics now, l eat newspapers as they come. I'm always the first to grab my hands on them at the office. My colleagues have given me a name for this.

Believe it or not, l'm not only politically knowledgeable but also politically smart. l gave my sister an analysis of how Trump would win the elections before election day.

If someone had told me that I would be an ardent lover of football, l definitely would have shouted them down. Lol. Well, l do not only love football now, I'm a staunch follower of one of the premiership clubs. Football is part of what I eat now.

My point exactly is..with the right person, we grow.

*Ladies pls stop sleeping with men. You shortchange yourselves doing so.
