CAF and African teams really need to sit down and reevaluate their mission. Three games, zero goals scored, three defeats and two own goals doesn’t show me the continent has made any progress since the last edition of the World Cup. Poor and toothless all around. The continent produces so many quality individual players to keep performing this badly at the world stage. That to me just screams poor adminstration and management.

1) Continuing to hire second tier and journeymen European coaches who are typically in it for the retirement money and replaced after tournament. Try something else because that’s clearly not working, give home grown coaches a chance, get South American coaches who might be more stylistically similar or even pay up and get quality European coaches.

2) Team selections that have no rhyme or reason. The associations spend too much time scouting European born players who have no connection to the countries, rather than giving African based players a chance on meritocracy and assembling a squad based on fit for tactics and holistic style of play that a coach wants to execute.

What we see still is a collection of disorganized, unfocused, unmotivated players going through the motions for two weeks before they go off on holidays. These embarrassing results shouldn’t be acceptable for a continent that has produced ballon d’or winners and EPL POTYs.

Dude relax. They only played their first games. Most teams have a slow start at the WC. Look at Germany and Brazil yesterday. Support the African teams and save your essay till the tournament is over.

I started noticing this conspiracy since the time of Westerhof. Remember the Nigeria - Italy game we lost painfully. When the pressure was on us the last 5 minutes of the game, our couch didn't even bother. Every good couch determined to win will certainly do something to fortify the defense when pressure is on It's team. But Westerhof didn't do anything.

Nigeria is one of the most dreaded Africa country in international football. The way we beat Brazil and Argentina in 1996 Olympic is still in the memory of these nations.

How do you expect to win a match with a lone striker upfront? One cannot believe this is the same squad that beat Argentina 4-2 in a friendly. Where is that team? What pattern did they play. You don't change a winning team. You can just add one or two players to make them stronger.

These white coaches target countries like Nigeria, not for the modest salary they are paid, but for the millions of dollars they stand to gain through match fixing and collaboration with betting syndicates. The match against England changed when we switched to 3-5-2. We defeated Argentina with the same formation. Mikel had no business playing in an advanced role with Iwobi on the pitch.

The Wing backs were not supporting the wingers and Ighalo was isolated in the attack. Ebuehi is a preferable option to Abdullahi.

A 3-5-2 would have choked the midfield for the Croatians and allowed wide spaces during Nigerian attacks while stopping long balls from the Croatians. We would have also had an extra man when defending except during counter attacks.

Going forward, the Icelandic team seem to be better at long balls than the Croats. They have the height advantage and would want to score from set pieces. I was disappointed in the Croats and think that Iceland would want to take the advantage of the draw with Argentina and qualify from the group. There is no time for show by thw SE or useless long balls.

Let's play the African way. We are not good at long balls. We pass the ball around.

This is not about ability to manage the players. He seems to know how to manage - and mismanage - them, as it suits him. He's no fool. He KNEW that subbing Iwobi would hurt the team. A 10 year old kid watching at home knew it.

We do not have to "prove" anything beyond the absolutely bizarre nature of his formation and team selection. THAT should be enough proof that he is compromised. We know he is not a retar.d, so how else do you explain his actions? YOU, would you have played Ighalo upfront alone in that game, with Kelechi and Musa on the bench? Of course not. So how do you explain a seasoned coach making such a decision?

Rohr knows how to play a winning formation. I believe he also threw that England game to match fixing. He ordered the team to play 4 at the back, limiting our attacking bite in the first half. In the 2nd half he reverted to 3 defenders, and we matched and dominated England, and scored. The man is not stupid. He knows what he is doing.

Good observations. The thing is that once you remove the white-loving blinkers from your eyes, it is VERY EASY to see that the loss was 100% the fault of the coach. And that his actions were deliberately executed to engineer a loss for the Super Eagles. Personally, the minute I saw Ighalo upfront as the lone striker I knew Gerard Rohr had no intention of winning that game.

on the wings, and benching danger men like Iheanacho and Musa, and refusing to make changes until we approached the 80th minute. If that is not DELIBERATE SABOTAGE, what is it? We know that billions of dollars are involved in these betting syndicates' infestation of the game. A Nigeria win would have lost those syndicates billions. Is it too hard to imagine that some of our players, like Troost Ekong for instance, and possibly even Mikel, plus our officials and coach were involved in shady deals with betting syndicates behind the scenes? Never ever put anything past them. Worthless.

To me, only a firing of the coach now, if it's not too late, can salvage the situation. If he is left in charge, we will not qualify for the second round. And you can take that to the betting syndicates' bank.
