SportsNewcastle United Offer Henry Onyekuru £36,000 Per Week To Join Them by Rossikki(op): 1:26am On Jun 09, 2017
Returning Premiership giants, Newcastle United, are offering Nigerian whizkid, Henry Onyekuru, the sum of £36,000 per week to join them. Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are also keen to sign the Super Eagles goal poacher, who has insisted he will NOT sit on the bench for any club, and that any deal must come with the agreement of regular first team play.

If the professional certification was NOT a necessary requirement/standard for the post, no problem. Nonetheless, there is still a bias by the OP as he spent 30 minutes chatting and 5 minutes doing the actual work which is why it is better to avoid such situations - you won't treat them objectively because of your bias.

In such threads, I am not perturbed by those who (and this is not referring to you chiscodedon) insult you or tell you that "na baba God", "who professionalism epp", "u fit do am if na your bro?", "get rich or die poor" and the likes. Recently, someone's incident has shown us how even criminals will pose with exotic items generated from fraudulent income and still say "Baba God, u don do am for your boys".

What you are seeing here is a SOCIETY THAT HAS COME TO ACCEPT CORRUPTION AS NORMAL. Religion and other bases are just the manipulative thoughts to justify the wrong. Ironically, these people will blame politicians and leaders alike for favoring their lot while they cannot avoid what they condemn. Like they say, it is easy to throw stones when you are outside the glass house.

I am putting this out there so that some people (especially younger ones) are not misguided and really, I am not even moved or disturbed by differences in opinions - SAYING IT AS IT IS. He has given a context and provided basis for his decision. Imagine the other guys reading this and in their minds, like NL job seekers, they believe nothing works in Nigeria because they are qualified for certain jobs but are never picked as a result of favoritism.

We all have different moral codes and let yours guide you - to each his own. Good luck manson5011
MY BROTHA, YOU ARE RIGHT. I EVEN VOTED IN FAVOUR OF WHAT THE GUY DID. But if we look at it objectively, it points to the issue of corruption in society.

Sentimentality is a huge factor in corruption, especially when it comes to relatives, friends etc getting undeserved favours. The 500 likes for what the guy did, shows we have serious problems in this country in terms of our attitudes to probity and professional integrity, so vital to catapaulting the nation to the next level. I think the best we can hope for is a reduction in corruption, not an elimination. Not with our mindset.

Alex Ekubo went to Cameroon and gushed about the electricity supply there, you people abused him, some even said that he should develop kidney problem, you tell me you nigerams are humans! Here we are talking about real projects people can see and can use, in fact poeple are already USING it, you are here making noise about paper and white elephant projects. Was it today we began hearing of such projects in nigeria? I love how Ekubo puts it, big name wey dey kill small dog. Abegi go and have a seat.
Where and where did he go in Cameroun? We all know how you dummies visit the capitals of these small countries, where the govt spends 80% of its revenue on the main city while the rest of the country is neglected, and then assume the comforts of the capital are replicated throughout the country. And if, despite all you've read here, you still think the Nigerian railway network is not being implemented, it just shows you are an illiterate dunce unworthy of further attention.

If Yorubas lived in the Niger Delta, Ipob will consider them 'brothers' and include them in 'Biafra'. Anyone living in those oil and gas fields of the delta is a 'dear brother' to Ipob. If Hitler and the nazis were based there, Ipob would court them as their 'dear brothers', and invite them to form 'Biafra'.

Foreign AffairsRe: Was 9/11 Really Just An Act Of Terrorism Or An Inside Job By The US Govt.? by Rossikki: 4:33am On Jun 05, 2017
The great conspiracy theorist and author, David Icke said that whenever you see an incident, and you want to know who is responsible for it, ask yourself ''Who benefits from this occurrence?'' The answer to that question is usually the answer to who is responsible for the crime.

Since 9/11, the US has benefited immensely. They've invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and installed stooge regimes, and are still looking to take out Syria and Iran, all on the back of their proclaimed altruism and fighting terrorism.

OP, have you any idea how many Nigerian Police officers have been killed and injured in shootouts against armed robbers in the last 30 years?

In other words, have you any idea how many Nigerian policemen have given their lives to protect you and your family, and keep you safe while you sleep like a baby at night?

Do you know it runs into thousands?

Do you know it is those underpaid policemen you scorn, that are the ones blocking armed robbers from raiding your house tonight?

Can you do what they do? Patrol the streets at 3am, often with sub-standard weapons, looking for armed robbers to confront?

Look, Mr Man, we can criticise the police all we want, but we must never ever ignore or downplay the fundamental service they render to us, and the huge sacrifices they make. For that we are grateful.

what credit? for the good roads or stable power supply? as hard as it is to believe, Nigeria is FIAKED*!! and we are not even ashamed of it.

Roads to and fro our ports/borders are in very very bad/ poor state. Travel more around the world to see.
Most countries ''around the world'' are developing nations like Nigeria. Most countries ''around the world'' are not like the US, UK, Germany, and Japan.

Most countries ''around the world'' are in the mould of places like Sri Lanka, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Ecuador, Mali, Azerbajian, Nepal, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand, Sierra Leone, Haiti, Surinam, Mexico, Zambia, Jamaica, Yemen, Eritrea, Rwanda, Cuba, Trinidad, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Malawi, Cambodia, Mozambique, Chad, Bangladesh, Burundi, DR Congo, Uganda, Afghanistan, Madagascar, and India, among others. In these countries, which make up the world's majority, there are myriad development issues from power shortage to bad roads. That is the NORM in the world.

The EXCEPTIONS are those western countries most of you travel to when you claim to be going ''around the world'' - UK, US, Germany, Holland, France, UAE (Dubai). Less than 25% of the world's population live in those developed countries. Remember that next time you talk of going ''around the world'' and seeing El Dorado everywhere.

I always laugh when I see these governors claiming to have built ''tourist attractions''.

Which tourist wants to visit a place with open gutters? Streets with no sidewalks? Cities with only a few street lights?

These are the things you must take care of FIRST AND FOREMOST, before the word ''tourist'' comes out of your mouth.

Until then, you will keep building ''tourist attractions'' that only attract area boys and ashewos.

And the point is, IT SHOULD. Kenya has a GDP that isn't up to that of Lagos, not to mention Nigeria that has 8 or 9 times the GDP of Kenya. No matter the effort these other countries are making, our size and available resources demand that we lead them when it comes to infrastructure and funding of projects.
We DO lead them. Kenya has only one or two serious airports, Nairobi and Mombasa.

I think the major point the OP is making is the quality of the train stations - Just like airports. Compare those with Kubwa train station.
If you have only two cities in your country like Kenya, you can build multimillion dollar palaces as their respective train stations. But if you are in Nigeria, which has hundreds of cities, you cannot. You need to be more modest so the infrastructure spreads round.

I'm from kaduna state so don't tell me about the kaduna - Abuja rail system. That was simply a political move, no more no less. The most pressing rail needs in Nigeria all involve moving in , out of or around Lagos state. Anything else is just wash.
The Kenyan rail project involves two of Kenya's most economically important regions, Nairobi and Mombasa. Pray tell me, do Abuja or Kaduna rank in the top 15 of Nigeria's most economically important cities ?
That you are from Kaduna means nothing. The Abuja-Kaduna network is a 200 km network llnking the federal capital with the nearest large city. The Lagos-Ibadan network construction has begun, as has the 1,500 km Lagos-Calabar route. They can't build them all at once just to satisfy you that they're not being ''political'' when they're deciding on which line to build prior to the other.

Until Nigeria delivers that 10,000km high speed train and Nigerians travel through it, don't downplay other countries that have theirs running. For them, it will boost trade and tourism by delivery this phase 1 while construction is on going in phase 2.

The Kenya's is also built to convey 200 containers daily out of their Sea port in Mombasa.
I can similarly say that until Nigeria completes its 10,000 km rail network, for which construction has commenced, don't come online and rubbish the country, and downplay its ongoing progress.

Because you are shallow-minded and immature, so you prefer to see flashy train stations than to have a 10,000km high speed rail network under construction. The first is glamorous, the second not so much, since there are no flashy pictures to ''show''.

The latter would benefit the country more than the former. That's what's important. It might take years longer to build than a couple of flashy train stations, but we can wait.

You can laugh out of ignorance. I had a Ugandan colleague once who could not understand the concept of visiting one's village, as we do in Nigeria. Oga stop fooling yourself in delusion. Google rail projects in Nigeria. It's not the first time we are having such plans which only ends in paper.
You're talking rubbish. You have never seen ANY plan. The national rail network masterplan has started. It's not ''on paper''. The recently completed Abuja-Kaduna network is part of the plan. You can go there and enter the train, and stop at the various modern stations on the network. The ongoing Calabar-Lagos network is part of the national rail masterplan.

''A state-owned Chinese company has signed a $12 billion agreement with the Nigerian federal government to build a railway along Nigeria’s coast that is billed as China’s single largest overseas contract, the state media said on Thursday.

China Railway Construction Corp. Ltd. (CRCC) signed the official construction contract with the Nigerian government on Wednesday in Abuja, the Xinhua news agency said.

The Nigerian railway will stretch for 1,402 kilometres (871 miles) along the coast, linking Lagos, the financial capital of Africa’s largest economy and leading oil producer, and Calabar in the east, according to the report.

The $11.97 billion deal marks China’s largest single overseas contract project so far, it said, citing CRCC.''

The rail project you are hallucinating about is to be funded by the Chinese on lease. We are to provide 30% counterparts funding for them to do it. Nigeria does not have the money to meet up with the counterparts fund. We can only wish it happens. This administration has one year to go. Election starts next year and Nigeria will pause again. Alas, it's a circle of doom. Restructure this country and let every region build their region.
There you go talking rubbish through your anus. Are you the Central Bank governor, to know Nigeria ''does not have the money'' to pay its share?
