Nothing much have changed from the way the white left Lagos...
You are wrong. An AWFUL LOT has changed in Lagos since 1960. The infrastructure is 100 times more than it was.

Nigeria my Nigeria... this is what is used to represent an affluent area in a country with the resources to compete with Dubai.

Kwantinu celebrating mediocrity oo, no offence to you OP.
Nigeria DOES NOT have ''the resources to compete with Dubai''.

UAE has 9.6 million people with an annual budget of 50 billion dollars.

Nigeria has 200 million people with an annual budget of 35 billion dollars.

UAE has TWICE the oil and gas reserves of Nigeria, and exports TWICE as many barrels per day as Nigeria.

THESE FACTS should make it clear to you - even if you are a dunce - that DUBAI, UAE is not what Nigeria should be looking at.

Nigeria would have been a much better nation, if we has stuck with the 12 states of 1976, and built on nationhood, instead of ethnicity. This democrazy will destroy Nigeria, if it doesn't reform fast.
It was agitation by the Nigerian public that led to the creation of more states. Or are we not a democracy?

That's what the people wanted, and that's what they got. Don't go blaming govt for it. I've no problem with the 36 states as currently constituted. It was a good thing in my view, or else places like Awka, Uyo, Oshogbo, Abakaliki, Yenagoa, Damaturu, Jalingo, Dutse, Lafia etc would still be villages today. More state creation brought development closer to the people.

But under the system of democracy we practice, the China model, will not work in Nigeria, we are the United States of Africa, we love capitalism in Nigeria, greed rules everything around.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. Ethiopia is a democracy practising some form of the Chinese model, and they are now the 2nd fastest growing economy on earth, after Guyana. 3rd is Rwanda, whose leader, Paul Kagame, is a disciple of Lee Kuan Yew, former leader of Singapore.

The key is to have a strong and determined executive branch of government hellbent on achieving growth.

By the way, it's nice to see that the 3 fastest growing economies on earth are black countries.

MetaPhysical:
You are disillusioned!

Igbos in Lagos, Igbos in Abuja, Igbos in Kano...they are resolved to thwart any move to declare Biafra. They love their wealth in Nigeria more than they love sovereingty in homeland.

First resolve that obstacle before thinking of Yoruba and Fulani.
Don't mind these IPOB folks. Nnamdi Kanu will provide jobs and accommodation for the 30 million Igbos that will be deported to the east after secession.

Dear EFCC, paying retired workers late is corruption. So, tell your oga at the top to pay retired civil servants their benefits.
Perfect. They paid retired civil servants late, therefore you, who is not retired, and is paid on time, can go to work late. That solves the problem. Brilliant logic.

LOW IQ.

Until you Nigerians get off this dumb mentality of ''everything that goes wrong is the govt's fault'' and admit that YOU YOURSELVES, THE PEOPLE, have many issues to resolve as well, you will continue to underachieve as a people.

Nation of govt blamers and finger pointers. Nothing is ever your own fault. You are all perfect beings.

Effing narcissists.

And that is an accomplishment? A productive nation can never shut her borders(ask china), it is because we only receive that is why we can make such a move.
More LOW IQ garbage. China shut her borders LITERALLY for nearly a CENTURY up till recently!!! Barring imports of everything in order to develop her self sufficiency. Why do you think most Chinese rode bicycles in the 70s and 80s when Nigerians were driving Mercedes? It was only in the late 80s that she opened up to international trade, after sufficiently gaining manufacturing independence and food self sufficiency. That is the trajectory Nigeria is taking, and rightfully so.

For some of you dingbats, anybody that says anything is IPOB. You are talking about the future? Please don't mention me again and from your submission I can't even afford wasting anytime with you. Largest economy is not by projections
Largest economy is NOT a ''projection''. It is a modern day FACT. Nigeria is Africa's largest economy. To state that she is unimportant despite that fact, suggests you have very LOW IQ.

from a country that imports EVERYTHING in 2020. Pls READ o, don't go an embarrass yourself
Actually, we do NOT import ''everything'', you loud ignoramus.. That is why we have thousands of factories in Nigeria, NONE of which you've stepped foot in, otherwise you wouldn't utter such ignorant motorpark tout garbage. Why don't you get off Nairaland and actually go out there and get to know your country? Ignorance is not bliss.

Updated COST OF TRANSPORT AROUND LAGOS MAJOR ROUTES FOR WORKERS

Because of the ban on bikes and keke , Danfo drivers have upgraded the cost of transport around Lagos for no reason.

This proves how greedy most nigerians are, and how we love to take advantage of peoples misfortunes
Lemme guess. If YOU were a danfo driver today, you would not raise your prices, correct?

Just say you won't, let me put you right, you damn, lying hypocrite.

To Nigerians, light skin means ''very beautiful''.

Even without seeing her full face, just the side.

Slaves. Disgusting people. No wonder you are the world capital of skin bleaching.
