Politics / Plateau State Commissioner For Commerce & Industry Tests Positive To Covid-19 by Rotjijatau(m): 5:53pm On Jul 01, 2020
Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has directed members of the State Executive Council to undergo test for COVID-19 and thereafter isolate beginning today, 1st July, 2020.
This follows the fact that a member of the State Executive Council and Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Abe Aku tested positive for the virus after he carried out the test.
Based on the Governor's directive specimens of the Commisioners are to be taken and forwarded to the COVID-19 Laboratory at The National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom for testing.
During the period and pending the outcome of the results members of the public are advised to be guided by unnecessary visits to members of the State Executive Council while they isolate.
This action is to not only prevent possible spread of the disease, but also show leadership by example.
It could be recalled that Governor Lalong and his family carried out the test earlier where all of them tested negative.
The Governor has also continued to speak against stigmatization saying that COVID-19 is not a death sentence and only continuous testing will reveal the rate of infection and facilitate treatment to save lives.
The Governor hopes that by this act, members of the public will be more encouraged to make themselves available for testing, while at the same time obeying the COVID-19 protocols of wearing face masks, social distancing, hand washing and the use of alcohol based sanitizers.
Government also uses this opportunity to remind the public that the enforcement of orders issued by the Governor will continue and those found violating will be arrested and prosecuted.
Dan Manjang,
Honourable Commissioner,
Information and Communication,
Plateau State.

Career / Covid19 Outbreak Has Exposed This About Nigerian Employers by Rotjijatau(m): 6:57pm On May 05, 2020
The outbreak of this global pandemic known as Covid19 has exposed two sets of employees in Nigeria.

1. First, Those that cannot pay its staff salary just for a month due to no business as a result of unforseen circumstances. What have our so called employers been doing with the huge profits that has been coming into the company's account that it cannot pay just a month salary without business. I have a friend who opened a school in Jos, she kept money in the school account that can pay all her staff salary comfortably for 3years with or without income to the school and I swear her school is one of the highest in terms of teachers salary. I think employers should learn a lesson now from this corona outbreak to be wise in spending after the pandemic.

2. Secondly, Covid19 have exposed wicked employers who have the money yet refused to pay its staff. Some even went as far as sacking some of its work force not because they do not have money but pure wickedness.

Pls add your thoughts.

We have to understand that Nigeria's case right now can only be salvaged by God. Nigeria cannot survive lockdown to effectively tackle the spread of this pandemic, yet coming out to look for food will be at risk of contacting the virus. Now is the time to see the consequences of electing our past and present leaders. We will all suffer it together.

Oh God, have mercy on lady earth. Nigerian government sometimes surprise me with their dumbness. You declare lockdown when we had very few cases as low as 215, then eventually ease the lockdown when the case has skyrocketed immensely. Then why the lockedown at the first place?

PresidentAtiku:
how?
Open your eyes and see, make ur research and you'll find out that what Buhari's government has achieved so far, PDP didn't in their entire 16years. And if you doubt me, name 10 of their projects and I'll name 20... Start. Let's be objective in Nigeria.
