coogar: my suggestion: take the ice bucket challenge. dry your face, get good earphones & listen to "legacy" again.

thank me later! grin
i might do what u suggest if i get around to it but first i must get the new ''Opeth'' album, the new ''Epica'' album, the box set of 10 ''dream theater'' studio albums realesed this past july, and i also have to get the complete discographies of the following bands and artists:
Foo Fighters
Omnium Gatherum
Deafheaven
Between The Buried And Me
Symphony X
Blackalicious
Cunninlyguists
People Under The Stairs
Dilated Peoples
Atsmosphere

A total of 122 albums between them.
And i still have alot of classical music to go through, about 750cds.
After that maybe i might just give legacy a try, just maybe. Because i might want to explore more bands and artists.

Do you listen to any other kind of music except rap? I listen to a wide variety of music for inspiration, from rock to jazz to classical.

coogar: you are talking nonsense as usual - if you cannot understand the technicality of lyricism we are discussing here then you have no rights to even contribute. i have seen all the lyrics physicsQED asked me to see & norm of them even compares to what eminem does when freestyling, never mind his pen game.
Everytime i calmn down and think to myself ''ok let me give this mmlp2 a chance and hear what everyone is raving about'' i get disappointed. I recently heard snippets of the song legacy from that album and my thoughts on it: ''commerciality on steroids'' im done thinking there could something on this album, that's it, eminem is a sell-out. If u want to hear real rap albums released in the past 12 months i'd recommend 1) sage francis - copper gone 2) blueprint - respect the architect. Stop supporting this mainstream garbage that is passed off as quality hip hop like 50 cent, eminem etc...

naijajobspost: thanks tapingil. the guy is a newbie looking for ideas or recognition, thats why i didnt bother to respond to his post. well, atleast he is learning gradually.
RSAMAN: you still call me a newbie. you haven't
contributed much to the debate we had
other than call me newbie and naija rap
fan(of which i proved otherwise). Be more
mature and Let's make a deal, you can
suggest an album i should listen to from
my collection, i once downloaded music
from similar artists you like because i
wanted to try out that particular kind of
music, yes i did try out those artists but
found that i don't like that kind of music,
i'm not just making some baseless
arguements and calling anything i haven't
tried out shiiiitt, i'll just give you the album
names i have tried, you'll just pick one and
i'll happily go back and give them another
chance and listen to them. In turn, since
you don't have my favourite artists albums
on your hard drive, i will suggest just an
album you should download from the
internet. And if you think what i
recommended was shiiiitt then i will
happily agree that i'm a newbie; That will
be more mature than calling someone a
newbie by judging his favorite artists
without having given them a listen and
not knowing what kind of music they
make. Are we on with the deal?
You can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. Shame can't even accept a simple challenge.

tapingil: OK sir we don hear...abeg step aside go open ur own thread with ur own fav artists....leave our op na....stop disturbing JOOR
nah, i didn't mean to disturb but just to recommend good music to you which i thought you might like. Either you are afraid of trying new things out or hate it when someone recommends something new to you. You probably listened to the same music for a long time but trying new things out will not do any harm because after all, you will have to decide whether you like what has been recommended to you or not and does not necesarily mean you have to ditch the old. All i can say is: try things out and if you don't like it you are free to ditch it. Like the old saying goes: a person who says he hasn't failed in life has never tried new things out. What have you got to lose? I have also tried things out, and along the way i have been disappointed time and time again, i failed, until i finally found music that i could cherish, i didn't just find it without disapointments and failing time and time again. All good music i have heard has come through recommendations and word of mouth, and everything i have heard on the radio and seen on tv has been mediocre at best compared to the standards of music i gotten into and set for myself, so i switched the radio off ever since.

Lol! Lol! Lol! since when was this guy a nigerian recording artist?

https://rstlne.nature-sounds.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/ra-top-small.jpg

R.A The Rugged man was born and bred in the U.S. He's from Suffolk County, Long Island, New
York, US. and has since recorded music with Nature Sounds, an Amercan Record company, he has never recorded anything in Nigeria and has Never worked or collaborated with a Nigerian record company or artist ever.

another R.A pic
https://www.egotripland.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/RA_Rugged_41-460jpg.jpg

His 2013 album 'Legends Never Die'
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1d/Legends_Never_Die_cover.jpg

Another pic where R.A salutes the stars and stripes
https://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/RARuggedMan.JPG

No single artist on my list is a Nigerian recording artist, here's the list again:
R.A The Rugged Man
Atmosphere
El-P
Immortal Technique
Pharoahe Monch
Sage Francis
Deltron 3030
Mf Doom
KRS-One
The Roots
Talib Kweli
Apollo Brown
O.C
Blueprint
Dilated People
Del tha Funky Homosapien
Saigon
Jean Grae

for instance, number2 on the list - Atmosphere is composed of a duo of Sean and Ant, the duo is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, United
States. Not even a single artist on my list is a Nigerian artist, all of them are American rappers, most of them born and bred in America.

I dare you to read this wikipedia page on Pharoahe Monch's album 'PTSD' here:

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PTSD_(album)

I suggest you copy and paste that link into your browser instead of clicking, make sure to copy the entire address including the '_(album)' otherwise it will take you to a different page about ptsd which has nothing to do with music, the same might happen if you click instead of copy and paste

Or

You can Access the page manually by typing 'Pharoahe Monch PTSD' on google and clicking the wikipedia link from the search results

then you will realise that Pharoahe is not an industry puppet. On the album The Queens emcee narrates, in both literal
and metaphoric ways, about the trials and tribulations of an independent artist who is at war with the music industry and the struggle of the black male experience in
America. Read the entire wikipedia page and don't skip a single thing on the page especially the crictic response on this release, read how they praise Pharoahe's intellect internal rhyming skills and prowess, this is the same album Talib Kweli took to twitter in it's praise and expressed that this album would shiiiitt on any other album released this year.

all4naija: I disagree with this your very comment. By definition you haven't been able to prove that you cannot do without manifesting the symptom of a troll in your posts. Through out your argument you have been able to show that you are nothing more than an irritant. That is appalling to say the least.

Through out all you have said, to exonerate yourself of your behavior, there is no iota of evidence to prove you aren't a troll. Indeed, you keep pointing it out and make it very palpable to those reading your post that you are what that word stands for.

I don't know what to say about your questions but they are utterly senseless in all ramification. I am not going to respond to them though you are trying to make them look rhetorical in nature.

Take your boring South African bottom to the squalor of Township and fix the problem there first before even talking about the earthquake that would have helped to get rid of those not useful to nature. Bwahaha....
okay you win, i'm tired of arguing.

naijajobspost: bro i told you, this thread aint for naija shiiiitt, am not a fan .... krs one is classic anyway and just 1 or 2 above kweli.... just wait when i am less busy i will open a thread for you on naija songs,i dont listen to them .

we got more classic coming right here.lay your head for a real niiiggaaa
shows what an ignorant slowpoke you are by calling this naija shiiiitt. Kweli himself took to twitter and said ''Pharoahe Monch's PTSD'' will shiiiitt on any rap album released this year, 'R.A the Rugged Man's Legends Never Die' is a conteder for album of the decade material, Deltron 3030's self titled album is probably the best rap album ever released. Do you even know kid koala? Dan the automator? What about Aceyalone? And you gonna say lil wayne, drake, birdman are better than those artists, you live in a fantasy world bro. Listen to R.A The Rugged Man Featuring Talib Kweli - Learn Truth from 'Legends Never Die' R.A completely murders Kweli on that track; then there's a song called 'the dangerous three' from the same album by R.A, this time R.A is rolling with 'Brother Ali and Masta Ace' and they are the dangerous three, all three rappers come to the party on this track and they deliver stellar verses, with intellect rhyming, to the point verses, ali opens the track and completely r4pes it, Intro by Ali prior to the first verse also by Ali:
[Intro: Brother Ali]
''Said they just don't make 'em like this no
more
In fact they never made 'em like this
before
I'm 'bout the baddest man that ya eyes
done saw
Baby, I'm down by law'' Just that intro alone shiiiitts on lil wayne's entire discography, we ain't talking about ali's verse yet, just the intro, imagine what his verse will do if that was just the intro, R.A tackles the 2nd verse and he's on point as usual, finally it's masta ace's turn and his flow is always as succulent; then there's a trak from the same album by R.A entitled 'Luv to Fuk' this time with Eamon, my word i started liking eamon after i heard this track, stellar chorus. R.A the rugged man is definetely one of the best white rappers to ever grab a mic.

Now onto the best rap album ever 'Deltron 3030 by Deltron 3030' this is a concept album, the year is 3030, the lyrics are futuristic giving the glimpse of year 3030 with just lyrics, with Del tha Funky Homosapien multisyllablistic tongue twisting rhymes that paints you a perfect picture about what he envisions about the future and his mission is to save us from future turbulances yet to come. His lyrics really teleports us into the future.
Don't expect to hear lyrics about biiiitches, money, rims; like your fav artists, this is mature rap, expect to songs about computer viruses, gorvenment role in destroyed future, alien invasion. Etc... This is like a sci-fi rap here and del's lyrics teleports you into the future.

Then there's El-P: listen his 2012's Cancer 4 cure, one of the best in 2012 with beats that are out of this world. Dr dre? Who's dr dre? El-P really provides a top notch production on this one, with lyrics that have tight punchlines and metaphors.

And You say lil wayne is better than those rappers? Joke of the century.
I'd school you on hip hop niiigga.
Go listen to real rap and then we can talk. I wonder how someone like lil wayne would smoke pot and say whatever thing that comes to mind in a weird voice can sell millions of copies.
And you think rick ross God forigive, i don't is a classic, hahaha classic moemish one could ever hear.

I'm so into Brother Ali's lyrics as they are mostly rebellious. Ali was born in Madison, Wisconsin, United States, but his family kept on relocating in and around the US. Ali was born was born with the rare genetic condition of albinism. While Brother Ali's family is white, he has
often described a childhood marked by
cruelty and exclusion by his white
classmates as a result of his physical
abnormality. He has often explained that,
from an early age, he felt "most at home
amongst African Americans."
That's the reason why his lyrics are so rebellious. Check his wikipedia page out.

O.C
Blueprint
Dilated People
Del tha Funky Homosapien

oh i'm bent on annoying people in this forum without a reasonable motive? I don't see what i did on this forum fits your definition of a troll because i haven't been on this site since last december and i came here to post about my experience and its probably my first posting in this forum if i'm not mistaken. I usually posted in the entertainment forum, particularly, music and movies forums. If posting about my experience fits your definition of a troll then tell me what annoyed you the most, is it the fact that my username is RSAMAN? Or because i'm a south african on nairaland? Or you think i'm xenophobic? Or think i'm suggesting to be better than any average Nigerian because i exeperienced an earthquake? Or suggest im a better person in general sense of the word? Or what?
