DIVINEEVIDENCE:

Do you even understand how the economy is run?

If you inject billions in Hospitality and Tourism in Owerri, you'll grow the state's IGR.
If you invest same in Benue, it'll flop.

If you give soft loans to farmers in Benue, provide them tractors, they'll curb national food shortage to a massive degree.
If you take same to Lagos or Abuja, it'll flop.

Railway from Benue to Onitsha, Lagos, Aba, Abuja will grow the state's IGR.
Railway to Niger republic wouldn't do as much.

Sports stadia in Abuja, Lagos and Akwa Ibom will yield profit.
In Yobe and Bauchi, they'll flop.

There are states that won't need airports even in the next 50 years.

Why should a refinery be in Kaduna and crude oil piped from SS to run it?

Every state has its peculiar strengths and needs which dwarfs infrastructure in most occasions.

What a sane government leverages on is any venture that would boost the economy, not the arbitrary construction of white elephant projects that would fall into disuse in the next ten years.

Look around you, you'll find various projects abandoned by the government.
No one abandons a viable project that's well thought out and which generates massive revenue.

Infrastructure has its place, but it should be patterned to align with the economic needs of its environment.

If you build car assembly plants and your citizens cannot afford to put food on the table, the plant will crash and you'll still have a hungry population.

Put that into empowering SMEIs and into food sustainability and in 20 years you'll have funds to build the same plant and enjoy patronage from a comfortable citizenry.

Thank you for this practical explanation. I learned from it

I can't go into details, but the long and short is, it was family issues, from his side. And he didn't have much say because he's the last child and they all trained him in school. He had to obey them.

This is touching. In fact, it gives me chills.

I know my ex will get married before I do, 'cause I'm not ready to get into that boat at the moment.

My prayer is I don't get to find out until I've really moved on, unto something more serious with someone else.

I don't have the strength to stomach such news at this time lol.

😁😁
I hope it works for you the way you desire.
Romance / Re: I Feel Really Funny Tonight - My Ex Got Engaged Last Week by Ruby458(f): 3:21pm On Jan 21
Awww! Such is life. You have to suck it up and move on.

My ex of 4 years got married last year. He didn't tell me and I had no way of knowing because I blocked him. I blocked him so that I would be able to heal properly and move on. Both of us are not heavy social media users and we rarely post stuff online. So, I had zero knowledge about his marriage.

Last year, on my birthday, he called me. He called with another number. I picked the call. I was surprised to hear his voice. I have healed and moved on, it was easier to talk with him. In the course of our conversation, he mentioned his wife. I was shocked. I asked him if he is married, he said yes. Then went on to talk about his wife. He said quite a bit about her.

He wished me a happy birthday, I thanked him and we ended the call. I sat still on my bed for minutes, trying to process everything he said, especially the part of his wife. Then I cried. Fat, gut-wrenching tears. Images of the times we spent together, his proposal to me, what our life would have been as husband and wife, how everything started falling apart and the final breakup. I cried o, I really cried.

Weeks later, I started feeling better. Today, I don't really think about him or his wife again, except something or someone reminds me of him. I wish him well with all my heart, while I pray to meet my husband soon.

So, guy, you will be fine. It's a normal emotion. We've all been there.

Nollywood had the market when they include east and south Africa the market size will be well over 500 million people. They should shun Oscar and creat one for Africa. Improve on it and then start including films from those regions that hate the west. If they are consistent in 20 years we will wrestle the market or at least split it from Oscar.

We have the talent we have creative young man just that we should be ready to put in the work and not this half baked effort we put in everything

We have our own renowned awards. There is AfRIFF, and one I can't remember right now, all thanks to the late Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.

Armaggedon:
No such thing as international movie award. Movie making is arts and arts is culture. Culture itself is clime-specific. Nollywood movie should never be rated with Hollywood standard. Hollywood movies like you rightly noted are more of visual entertainment while in nollywood, it is story based. Old nollywood producers were very creative storytellers, they only needed to develop in cinematography. Instead, however, the so called new ones out of inferiority complex started pursuing Hollywood standard and awards and abandoned storytelling. This is why most nollywood fans will tell nollywood movies these days are crap, despite the producers themselves claiming the industry has improved.

I wish I could like this a million times. This is the absolute truth.

Career / How Do I Switch From Mass Communication To Accounting/business Administration? by Ruby458(f): 6:53pm On Apr 16, 2023
Good evening, guys. Happy Sunday.

Please, how do I switch courses from Mass Communication to Accounting or Business Administration?

A little context: I graduated from Mass Communication department several years ago. I wanted Law or English Language, but I guess my post-ume score was only enough for Mass Communication.

I haven't done anything with that certificate, honestly. I write a bit, though, but it's fiction writing, so it has no bearing on the certificate.

Now, I want to have a professional degree. Something that has a specialized path, and I have chosen Accounting as my first choice, and Business Administration as my second choice.

Should I go for a PGD in Accounting or Business Administration, then go for my Masters, or do I have to start afresh from year 1? I'm prepared to do either.

I'd really appreciate the input of anyone who has gone through same process, or anyone who can offer reliable information.

Thank you.

Sometimes I come here to read a lot of tripe and wonder what kind of faulty premises that abounds human thinking. At the bolded how has Banky contributed more than Attah? or is it because Banky is more popular? this is a man that engaged in health outreach, engage in every humanitarian services, reach out door to door to most of his electorates, campaign vigorously like his life depends on it and God crowned his effort by making PO effect and wave gave him victory but No you have to discount his effort simply because your MCM was defeated. Banky is a cool guy and I have no issues with his personality but sometime get off your bias and see things objectively. That man is the only contestant I was able to see twice within space of 6 months canvassing votes aggressively during my stint in Ajah but No all his efforts should be in vain because Banky is in ballot paper.

You can extol Banky qualities without demeaning the other guy because he put in effort and gave it his all. Every other agenda about LP and other political parties are your prerogative but don't ever try to downgrade someone success because of your prejudice.

Should we now be voting with sentiment?

Thank you!!!

We should vote for you simply because you are popular. That's not fair at all.

Thaddeus Attah Achief worked tirelessly campaigning, doing medical outreaches in the villages, proper grassroot outreach. He cleaned gutters, helped with Obi's campaign in Lagos. Then, all of a sudden he doesn't deserve to be voted just because he wasn't popular.

Arrant rubbish and pride!!!

Acidosis:
You saw Obi left the PDP, you saw the G5 governors ruined PDP from nothing to absolute nothing YET you stayed back hoping to win. A day to the elections, we didn't see anyone campaign (not even your fellow entertainer) for you but, somehow, people feel that you're entitled to our votes...because you entertain people for a living?? Ment.

Come Saturday, 11th, Funke Akindele will lose again to GRV and people who never campaigned for her will come out to blame Obidients.

PDP is dead in Lagos state. You're solely responsible for your loss.

I doubt he will. He has no heavyweight, money-sharing, thieving opposer in the party, so he has a great opportunity to nurture the party to enviable heights through his philosophy of 'no shi shi, working for the masses'.

The masses are already with him, the future can only be bright.

I just pray only sane, honest politicians join the party.

He will. I saw Anambra state transformation with my two korokoro eyes. Better days are ahead for Nigerians.

He loves education, I believe ASUU will become a thing of the past. Federal universities will expert massive upgrade in infrastructure, research and development, revision of courses. Even federal secondary schools (unity schools) would benefit immensely.

He built very good roads. When Federal govt didn't build Onitsha express road, he did and govt refunded him. That road still stands till this very second.

Have faith, bro.

It's a good thing he turned down the VP slot. He and PO may end up having issues during their tenure because of his ITK and arrogance.

Datti is better as he and PO already have an existing friendship that would carry them through their reign. He seems loyal too.

We told them that APC doesn't have a candidate they called it a joke. Imagine what would have happened if that arrogant kwankwaso swallowed his pride and run with Obi, the election would have been done and dusted.

Hey, if your girls want to stick with pumping their own men with HIV, be my guest. And no, it's not a cheap shot, it's a call to common sense. Why the heck do you backwardness purveyors think condoms were invented? Afterall one of the highest HIV infection rates in the world and the highest domestic violence rate won't happen by themselves right? cheesy

The problem is that you clowns lack authenticity because you weren't giving a fighting chance to expose yourselves positively, heck you only truly became a country instead of Africa's version of Palestine roughly about 3 decades ago.

It's always about content. As cheap as Nollywood movies were, they were authentic and they finally got International attention. Don't even talk about our strides in Hollywood, Music and Tech. Don't even talk about leading business moves by BLACK Africans, we even created opening for other less fortunate Africans like your people who couldn't get in the door to the top level of whatever you call your entertainment industry unless they were tolerably as light-skinned as Pearl Thusi. You think they would let you all perform your energetic but bizarre cockroach dances beside the likes of Charlize Theron? cheesy

Yes, your women are very very curvy and cute, but they've been punished with some of the most seemingly pathological slackers in the world in the form of Black South African men. The Whites made things worse by helping with making guns virtually legal so your lazy selves do nothing but crime, inciting xenophobic riots, and dancing around barrel street fires at night in those ridiculous hats and overalls that pass as urban fashion over there while yelling incoherent barbarisms like "haiibo!" & "tjovito!".

Your women love us and we love them too minus the HIV they liberally share around like sliced bread. They keep our balls dry and appreciate the care we show them, a far cry from the brutalization you've shown them for decades. Khosi that you cited is still on the prowl for her next Nigerian o!

I will never understand Yvonne picking Juicy unless it's based on Daddy issues or the trauma of losing her teddy bear as a kid, besides it's not like the house had better options in abundance. How many women can Yemi juggle? Kanaga seems celibate and Marvin obvious latent roid high won't let him focus on women for now. Miracle is already tangled up with Khosi, and most of the Nigerian girls are older veterans compared to the SA girls, hence there's a solid man scarcity in the house.

Juicy Jay would have been nothing more than Whitemoney's cooking assistance in BB Shine Ya Eye, ensuring that meals are efficiently served while the girls ogled at the likes of Cross, Emmanuel, Michael and Pere.

Stop the shoulder-dragging with us and focus on being better as a people, we're focused on taking back our country for now. Hopefully we'll vote right and then we'll SHOW Africa, not pseudo-developed countries like yours, Black excellence in its best form!

You are good, man. You are GOOD. With words. I read every single word with relish. Kudos🙌🙌
