OK you are right, topic like this includes some generalization and some bad experience. But, be honest, did u ever have visitors from Nigeria that come to visit and behave like the world belongs to them, like they have a right on everything? Also I think of some (OK, not all) new immigrants, that take everything for granted and just wanna live on social wellfare instead of trying to get some work. That relax, let others pay for them instead of trying to get the papers? Sorry, not all are like this, but me I experience behaviour like this many times. They might be prince and princess or chief or whatever at home, but they don´t realize, that in Europe they are nothing. Nobody cares (yes it´s hard, but it´s like this) unless they build it up themselves! |

Don´t know if this is the right place to post, but sometimes it seems to me visitors coming from Nigeria to e.g. Europe behave like they are prince and princess and have a right on every benefit we´ve been working for hard or our country grants us cos we pay taxes (opposite to them not doing so at home). They are just too demanding.
What´s your experience? |

Have been to all the places above too, nice pictures. OK, Bangkok is a bit smaller then Lagos, but those people there really manage to keep their city so neat and clean. Why is this impossible in Lagos |

Christianity Etc › Re: How Many Times Do I Need To Say In Jesus Name While Praying? by ruescho(m): 12:35pm On Feb 03, 2007 |
If u pray your prayers through Jesus Christ, as u said, its enough. He will know its in his name, even if u dont mention it every three words. He himself tells us not to make to many words when praying, just say the Lords prayer. |

feelgood: Formal Nightwear
Frequent hand washing in my job as a medical technologist and the harsh weather combined give me very dry skin.
One night as I prepared for bed, I rubbed my hands with petroleum jelly and covered them with an old pair of white gloves. As I sat in bed reading a book with my gloves on, my husband finished showering and came into the room wearing a towel.
Drying himself off, he went to the closet, selected a tie and put it on.
"What are you doing"? I asked.
"Well," he replied. "If you are going to be formal, so am I." Hey feelgood what is this, thought u were male?!? |

If 1. take the Nissan, if 2. the Benz (that also is good off-road, but offers more luxury imho) |
Christianity Etc › Re: Does It Matter Which Religion You Choose? by ruescho(m): 2:55pm On Jan 25, 2007 |
Ndipe: And what if someone's family are worshippers of idols? would you still advise them not to convert? Difficult cos i only can tell u what is best for me which nis Christianity, but not what is best for others. Besides that it seems to me many people in Africa found a way to be Christian and still honour their local tradition and religion. Even know some convinced Christians that use voodoo. Don´t personally think this the way to do it, just report what I see. Cannot judge them. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Does It Matter Which Religion You Choose? by ruescho(m): 10:02am On Jan 25, 2007 |
Usually u don´t choose your religion, u are just born into it, educated more or less religiously and later u decide if u want to stick to it or not.
Me I think it´s better to have religion than to have none
and it´s better to stick to your families religion than to convert. |

My girl friend make same experience, then she cut ties with those "friends".
New friends simply don´t tell about your relation so they have no knowledge to harm u.
Boyz are not so much into gossip but them also know how to harm relation.
Seems both, boyz and girlz cannot stand someone being more successfull than them ooo. |

Family › Re: Can You Marry A Former Prostitute? by ruescho(m): 9:34am On Jan 25, 2007 |
Angiebebe: I was trying to answer a question for myself, I googled " can one ever love a prostitute", Thus, find myself logged into Nairaland.
I am a female. Recently turned 20 years old. I have been an escort for the past 5 months. Please, continue reading. I lost both parents when I was young and found myself in between foster care then adopted. My adopted parents abused me mentally and physically and at 14 the court took me away. To put it briefly as my intention is not to share my whole life story, Delving into prostitution was not the most intelligent thing I have ever done. But I know God loves me and keep me safe. I pray everynight. Recently, I got into med-school. I would not be able to provide myself with a life beyond living on the streets and the desired education, if it were not for my job. I am financially back on my feet and so forth. Just because I was born into difficult circumstances, does not entitle me to a life of welfare. I have great dreams and ambitions. So what, I have sex for money. I do not feel dirty. I know at the end of the day how many lives I will save. I am human. I have a heart. Therefor I deserve to be loved and treated as an equal. I would never advise my younger sister to delve into this lifestyle. There are parts of the industry that are terrible! I am fortunate to be well taken care of. But EVERYONE makes mistakes and EVERYONE faces a rut or two or three or more!!! (in a life time) NO this does not mean selling yourself is the better answer. Though, I do know I have shaved of 5 years of paying of debt so that I could have the time to go to school! (10 years-med school) I will make a great mom one day. I will provide all the love and attention to my family. I pray to God everday. I love life more than most people. I have lost a lot and am hopeful. It is rather ironic how much time society spends putting labels on groups. All this negativity allows us to do one thing. Loose Focus in our on life. When I was younger I never believed my goals were attainable. I never believed I could be loved because so many people have come and gone out of my life. To date, I have a wonderful family who took me in as there own KNOWING what I do. They accept me. Everyone has his/her own path to walk. I applaud this notion. What's more is I have great friends. Who love me for every flaw thus, who I am. My greatest pride and what brought me to rant is my loving boyfiend. We will call him D. D is my best friend and true love. I have all intentions on marrying this man. We find peace in eachother and believe in teamwork. I believe in honesty. I have not told him what I do for a living ALTHOUGH I white lied and told him I did it for a month in the past. He stayed with me knowing I tested out the industry. Things are going great and we are going to get married. I am not sexually active with him because in a perfect world I would be a virgin. Sex is Sex. Making love to someone you will be with forever is on a whole different level. Though it is no excuse for not have telling him. I am asking for your opinions, positive, negative, whatever they may be. I am open to it. Thank you for reading. Angie Was reading your testimony and copying it cos I think it´s worth being read twice. It really touched me. Most people in this thread are talking like the blind about colours. You experience everything we talk about yourself. Thx for sharing your experience with us. But do yourself one favour: Me, I think before u marry your friend, tell him everything. Not at once but step by step. If it is love he will abide at your side. If not it ´s better to know now rather than after u are married. Just think about it and all the best!!! |
