Nigeria’s space research agency defends employment of staff without scientific or technical skills

Space Research and Development Agency, NASRDA, had defended the recruitment of candidates with religion degrees as full-time staff.

NARSDA image-maker, Felix Ale who spoke to The ICIR, said employing young Nigerians at the space centre irrespective of their educational discipline is not a problem if it addresses the issues of unemployment in the country.

He made this comment against the background of the comment made recently by Senator Ajayi Boroffice, the deputy Senate majority leader.

Boroface made a shocking revelation at its last annual national conference on space science and technology organised by the Space Research and Development Agency, NASRDA on June 2020.

At the event held in Abuja, Senator Boroffice said the space agency had engaged in actions, he described as “misemployment” by employing graduates of religious studies and other unrelated courses as support staff constituting 80 per cent of its workforce.

“How can you be taking people with religious studies in the space centre? It is misemployment when the support staff constitute about 80 per cent of the workforce. It is wrong.

“I also learnt that the Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC is around, scrutinising employment documents, I heard employment at the space centre is earned for between N2 million to N2.5 million. It is sad,” he said

I mean stuffs like marrying 4 wives, jihad, issues related to forgiveness, treatment of women etc... These are the opposite of the values of the christian faith.. You help to spread these values when you build mosques for Muslims!

You can't be doing a good job as a Christian, when all you do is to build mosques that will help propagate these dangerous beliefs that ridicule the foundamentals of christiandom! So it's wrong... While the liberal nature of Christianity expects you to respect other faiths, you are also expected to teach and encourage the adherents of such religions, to see that they're not right with their practices.. You do the opposite by building mosques and Buddha temples..

We all saw the global outrage over George Floyd murder and how slave monuments were cast down all over the world. Now Reno creates a topic all but gloating that his people sold Igbos as slaves because of Igbos inherent 'disunity' and inferiority.
I made an argument that his people sold Igbos to slavery because they were horrible human traffickers and not because Igbos were inferior or disunited. I buttressed my point by showing how Igbos are excelling in human resources more than Reno's people and how Reno's people only got umbrellas and mirrors for their evil actions.
I concluded that slave trade is a dark chapter in black history that nobody should gloat about, especially not fellow blacks.

Nigeria does not need a bicameral legislature at the federal level. Just a unicameral legislature of highly educated men. About 6 men from the 6 different sub regions. Plus - minus 30 erudite scholars/technocrats would do! They should be backed up in their offices with very bright graduates across different professions as staff and there must be laid down rulles and guidelines on how and who to recruit as legislative staffs and assistants to the federal law makers..

The state legislative houses should also be disbanded and about 30 men elected regional house members to handle legislative duties for component states/units within each sub region. This means that a single legislative house should do the legislative jobs for all the states within each of the 6 regions in existence today.. Councilors at LG levels should only exist if there are no plans for remunerations by the government! Their services should be free and communities should be the ones to suggest names based on established voting units.

Thee protests should go on globally, even if Kanu is released..
