This happened just last week......beat that

November 1, 2016.

The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) last week embarked on secret recruitment of staff to fill observed vacancies in the organisation Daily Sun has authoritatively learnt.

The latest of such exercise took place last Thursday when scores of applicants were screened for appointments into various cadres in the organisation. But the Corporation said its action was in order because it got waiver from the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

Notwithstanding however, it was alleged that the recruitment exercise was mainly organised for children and candidates of influential persons in government as well as some senior management staff of the organisation.

Daily Sun reliably learnt that those invited for the interview, which held at the NDIC Training Academy at No 32, Anthony Enahoro Street, Utako, Abuja, on October 27, were called on telephone and asked to come with six copies of their credentials, including the original of NDIC. The exercise comprising written test and oral interviews conducted by separate panels for various categories of applicants lasted into the night.

A particular panel focused mainly on senior management cadre, although the actual number of those interviewed could not be ascertained. However, an insider source disclosed that over 40 persons were being considered for various positions in the corporation. The source further said that most of them would be posted to the training academy.

When Daily Sun visited venue of the exercise, about 40 vehicles apparently belonging to the applicants were parked at the vicinity, while two stern-looking anti-riot policemen manned the gate. Three prospective applicants were turned back at the gate because their sponsors, it was learnt, could not establish communication with the Managing Director of NDIC, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, who was said to have travelled out of the country during the period.

NDIC spokesman, Mr. Hadi Birchi, in a telephone chat denied that the interview was specially arranged for candidates of influential Nigerians. Although he admitted that the vacancies were not advertised, the NDIC spokesperson said those to be employed are still Nigerians.

On inquiry by Daily Sun at the FCC whether the corporation informed it of the exercise, the Acting Secretary of the commission, Mr. Jonas Umeh, said he was not sure a waiver was granted to NDIC.

He, however, explained that some establishments are given advertisement waiver depending on the number of vacancies to be filled. “We sometimes give waivers not to advertise, depending on the number of vacancies. But this time round, I am not sure whether they have waiver not to advertise or not. I am not sure if they applied for waiver in the first instance,” he stated.

Recently, there have been allegations of secret recruitments into many juicy government agencies like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Federal Inland revenue Service (FIRS), National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), among others.

I wonder why my first thread was deleted.....I care less!

Ok.....NCC is accepting CVs and like I stated earlier, they are only going to recruit 60 people. The recruitment is a silent one.....therefore, if you have a sponsor, start calling them now.

To apply, submit ur CV at their HQ in Maitama, Abuja. Best of luck!

Nairaland / General / Today Is World Environment Day by Rumpelstiltskin(m): 12:39pm On Jun 05, 2016
Today is World Environment Day and the theme for WED 2016 is "Zero Tolerance for the Illegal Wildlife Trade". Indeed, illegal wildlife trade thrives in Africa and it is no surprise that an African country, Angola, is the global host for WED 2016.

Some of this illegal wildlife trade are well known, such as poaching of elephants for ivory, rhinos and tigers for their skins and bones. However, countless other species are similarly overexploited, from marine turtles to timber trees —directly threatening the survival of many species in the wild.

As we celebrate the World Environment Day today, we must also reflect on some of our local environmental challenges ranging from air pollution, water pollution, crude oil spillage, gas flaring, deforestation, desertification and poor waste mamagment.

Few days ago, a WHO report rated Onitsha as the most polluted city in the world. Onitsha recorded 30 times more than the WHO's recommended levels of PM10. Other cities on the top 20 list were Kaduna, Umuahia and Aba. Also, Port-Hacourt was rated among the top 25 dirtiest cities in the world in 2016. Ibadan and Aba were once the most dirtiest cities in the world.

Pollution comes with its health risks and challenges which could be mild such as headache and nausea, or sub-lethal such as respiratory infections, food/water poisoning or even lethal effects such as cancer and death. We wont forget the Lead poisoning incidence of Zamfara too quickly. Stiffer environmental laws ought to be enacted to protect our environment and punish environmental offenders.

As an environmental enthusiast and ecotoxicologist, I wholeheartedly condemn the activities of the Niger Delta Avengers whose activities are causing greater ecological damage to the Niger-Delta than can be remediated in the nearest decade. Already, the Niger Delta is faced with enormous environmental challenges including oil spillages and gas flaring which has affected the flora, fauna and soil structure making it difficult for people who depend on fishing and farming as a source of income to sustain their livelihood.

It will take up to 30years to completely clean-up Ogoniland alone and will cost over $20b. You may think you are fighting the government, but you must also consider the long-term impact your activities are having on your immediate environment. Stiffer environmental laws, a speedy passage of the PIB and a more strengthened NOSDRA, DPR and FMoEnv would ensure that gas flaring and accidental spillages during exploration, production and transportation is reduced to the barest minimum while offenders should be sanctioned heavily and compelled to clean up the environment they polluted.

According to Mahatma Gandhi, "Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need but not every man's greed".

Happy World Environment Day 2016

LOL grin Claiming FCSC recruited only 50 persons illegally in 2015 is great fallacy. Na Ministry of Foreign Affairs we wan talk or Ministry of Education?

And can Bukar just shut up already? Before 2011, Northerners occupied a larger percentage of the civil service, whether qualified or not, they helped themselves into the public service illegally and without due process or recourse to federal character. The recently concluded CBN and NSIA recruitments had more Northerners being favoured as it always used to be. When the former NAMA DG was recruiting mostly Northerners, no one screamed marginalisation. FG should scrap FCC already.

NB: many more agencies to commence recruitment after the approval of the budget. All those MDAs that have been using ghost workers are now looking for a way to replace them with real workers before Buhari's government discovers.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: FG MDAs That Are Currently Recruiting/Replacing [2016] by Rumpelstiltskin(m): 1:36am On Feb 26, 2016
There is a new but very sad development.....I have decided to discontinue this thread. Some of my reasons are:

1. The thread is becoming bigger than I can manage. It is getting really difficult to reply comments.

2. Although a few good people have also contributed and provided information about current recruitments/replacements, everyone is on my neck for ALL the information.

3. Somehow, I feel terrible that every1 is looking up to me for help yet I can only assist very little. cry

4. Somehow my identity got blown and I received a mail from a NLer (well known) advising me to quit the thread because not everyone will use the information I am providing for honest purposes. Some1 reported the thread yesterday and it was pulled down, it took the help of the MODs to restore the thread after I called their attention to it (the MODs can testify to this). Why did the person pull down the thread? He was angry cos I didnt state how to get the connections for the jobs and he felt since he doesnt have the connection, the thread was worthless. He called me names and when I reported his post, he pulled down the entire thread. Maybe some of you following this thread noticed this. Another person has sent a mail threatening to publish this thread on a blog in order to address the issue of "illegal/silent recruitments". For these reasons and more, I want to stick to the advise I received and draw the curtains here. I gave little info, they dey threaten me, if I come talk the one wey I see today, I go enter jail be that ooo grin

5. Just like LastMumu rightly stated, scammers will begin to take advantage of the vulnerable ones on this thread. I won't forgive myself if any1 of you fall a victim to scammers because of this thread. Therefore I beg you guys, any1 that calls or mail you to send money for a job slot is a CRIMINAL & FRAUDSTER. Ask them how they got your number and be very wise at all times. Any1 who really wants to help you will never ask for money or sex before giving you your appointment letter. Please be wise and do not be DESPERATE.

6. My greatest joy however is that I have been able to send a signal to those who care that they can get a FG job even this month if they put in a little more effort. It is very possible! FG jobs are gotten weekly in this country.

7. All those I have promised to send those numbers, I will fulfill that promise rightaway.

8. The next and last thread I will open as regards to FG jobs is the various salary structures thread I promised. I will neither answer questions nor comment on issues not related strictly to salaries alone.

9. An advise to all those whose connections are from Senators/HoR members, hold them really tight this period of budget defence, jobs dey comot well well. I know what I'm saying. Everyone wants their budget to be approved without hassle, so they'll honour just any request wink
Also sometimes, whether or not an agency is recruiting, e get d kind people wey go send your name wey the DG no go fit reject, they go create position, space and office for you by force. grin GOD's connection is the greatest sha oooo cool

10. As long as you are a graduate, you can work in any FG MDA, although being in an agency where your discipline is most relevant guarantees a faster career growth and even enhances your chance of getting to the top most position of that agency.

11. If you have been relying on a particular person/connection/strategy without any fruitful result, please change your approach/strategy.

12. I really wish I could help every1 but I have my limits too........maybe when I become a Senator, I'll do more cool

13. I sincerely apologize for having to discontinue my comments on this thread. I wish you all truly understand my stance. It is becoming increasingly difficult to share certain info on social media because of bad belle people. I mean well though but some people won't just understand. angry cry I know so many people will be disappointed with my action, I beg make una no vex sad

14. I wish you all the best continued success in this year 2016 and beyond. GOD bless you all kiss

Warmest Regards
Rumpelstiltskin

I understand what you are saying, last December a certain percentage was added to the salary and tagged 13th month salary, hence the 103k your friend received. Some even received 100% of their salaries as 13th month. Actually, there are disparities in payment in NABDA depending on whether the staff is on IPPIS,or a staff in the Biodec centres e.t.c. For instance, Salaries last January in BIODEC centres were based on the financial capabilities of the centres since budget is yet to be approved. My friend uses fidelity bank got her salary 5th of february. But you are very on point to say NABDA has issues with salaries and this is likely to continue untill budget is approved, HOWEVER CONRAISS salary scale is the same eveywhere disparities only occur in terms of allowances.
Thanks for taking your time to explain this issue. I understand better now. But I know two people at NABDA HQ who hadnt received their January Salary with Fidelity as at last 2 weeks ago. It is rather surprising that some others got theirs. (Part of the discrepancies I am talking about). But I understand your point better now. You were very apt and precise. Thanks

The bolded is very true. NACA also use CONRAISS.....take home is 108+, NASENI uses CONRAISS and take home is above N90k (if I am not mistaken).

An MSc in Infotech will earn you a place in any of the ICT parastatals which pays far much better than Min of Education. Be patient, NCC will soon get the green light.

oga please answer my questions about ministry of finance abeg
Honestly, nothing on Finance. I'll call a Director tomorrow morning to ask though.

Xmen149:

Bro,.whats the salary structure of DPR like..plus u gat links i can use to get there?..hala @me asap
DPR operates a special salary structure though they pay from the National Treasury. The last figures I had is about 3 years ago......cant tell their current but I can tell you that is very very attractive and they also pay annual upfront like every other revenue generating agency. The only link I have is the overall Director's number and honestly, I cannot give it out. The Director is quite new and was only recently appointed by Buhari. Not just anybody can call the DPR Director.

olabimp:
@Rumpelstiltskin, u are really doing a great job here and I want to appreciate u for creating this thread. Pls I have someone at the national assembly that wants to help but he said I should look for any federal parastatals that is recruiting and how to contact them.
