the topic did not say mikel is the best goalkeeper or the best striker rather it says the best passer of the ball. commentators and other football analysts have been creditting players with this same award even before the birth of mikel so if it is going to change now because mikel mistakingly becomes a nigeria, we will see to that.
for every game, distance covered and number of passes started and completed are there for your records. if u were arround in 1994, daniel amokachi was been tested for drugs at the end of every match in the usa 94 world cup just because of his excess energy that made him cover much more distances than other players.
i don't know why nigerians don't like it when i calculate how much mikel earns. mikel is not in england to earn your praises or be compared with song and denilson rather he is there to work hard to earn hard currency. for every worker, his reward is measured with his earning to compare input and output.

what u are saying is always the problem with black and white 14 inches tvs. in england and europe, distance covered at the end of the day is recorded. how many passes u make and how many u completed are always recorded. is not like ppl going to smoke and coming out with an igbo opinion. unless you are telling us that u have a different number of passes for each of the players otherwise u have to agree.
before u develop high blood preasure, mikel was not pronounced the best player in epl or in the world but best passer of the ball. it is really unfortunate that many nigerians will die the day mikel will be named the captain of nigeria and the best player in the world.
mikel is very good and chelsea believe so much in him and that is why they are spending a whole lot of funds on him.
mikel makes over N20million every week and because of the type of calculator i have, i find it difficult to say how much that will be for 52 weeks multiply by 5 which is his current contract. uncle what are u going to say or do about that?

This best passer thing is what is creating the ripples here --- maybe if you guys came out plain and said, Mikel has the highest number of completed passes, there'd be no need for all this furore --- but you insist to trump it up and blow it out of proportion.

To break down the quantity/quality reference to stats I made --- I can spend all day playing back-passes to my goalie and wound up being the player with the highest number of completed passes in the game, doesn't make me the best passer of the ball!
When Claude Makhalele was with Chelsea, he probably had roughly the same passing stats because that is what their job as defensive midfielders entails --- so do not make a mountain out of a 5 naira mould of ijebu-garri!
