zinaunreal:And this is the societal pressure we speak of. For some, it is a personal choice or preference to remain out there. But for many, many more (especially those who are not making any meaningful headway) it is the fear of this which makes 'em just stay put no matter the predicament! |
gentleiphy:We are saying the same thing. The problem is, we back in naija use different eye to 'weigh' those of them who are out there hustling. We forget to remember that it will take some time for them to become financially okay too! We just assume that straight-up, they are better than us; simply by the virtue of being there in obodo oyinbo!! Once you hear that your friend has enter yankee or jand, you start to 'tax' him or her immediately, not minding that the person might still be a student or even un-documented alien. |
By the way, wanna know how bad this football club sucks at the moment... you got knocked out the UCL by a team coached by Vicenzo "fvcking" Montella and record signing, lead striker is mutha-fvcking eediet Muriel. My goodness!!! ![]() |
Leyqute:I will come back on 3 conditions: - Mourinho leaves -- Pogba follows --- David Moyes is reinstated ![]() |
Time2Smile:That is what she said down there. My guy, I no be idiot na... if we are to take what she said literally, it means uni libraries do not close even on federal holidays and significant ones like Christmas etc. Even at certain point in the day in uni library, they will bounce non-card holders. Make una no dey do like sey because we neva enter abroad, we no sabi something jor! shaybebaby: |

What is truly baffling is that most of us are missing the point (message) of the original post. Also, the type of pressure which make some of the guys out there not want to return is so glaring. First of all, only a very lucky few go abroad and within a space of 6-12 months, become very financially okay. From what I can see, the average person takes about 3-5 years and a lot of work to make it. The worst ones are those that do not have legit paperwork, they could potentially take more time and work to gain some stability in life. The second point is the reason why many folks abroad do not want to return is that they have not yet attained the perceived level of wealth or social status that justifies their leaving naija in the first place. This is most usually a perception of the larger society, sometimes it is actually just imagined or over-exaggerated in the person's mind, but it is there and very real! The third point I wish to make is, we that are back at home, we do not see the process - we do not see the struggle, work, pain and effort. We only see the "enjoyment" part. In the end, every individual decides for themselves if the enjoyment at the end is worth going through the process. Keep in mind, that after making this assessment, many will keep the truth at the bottom of their heart to themselves and tell a different tale outside! |
shaybebaby:Is it uni library or hospital ward? |
patrickmuf:Then again. You don't even know what my wishes for UTD are! |
PietroRico:Bros, I gentle o, no trouble. Na just sey some people can sabi vex pesin! ![]() |
afrodoc2:Noted. Make sure you own up to this statement when time reach! |
patrickmuf:Irrelevant sir! |
elrony:I hope you sef no go develop amnesia wen Aug/Sep reach... or like the other otondo, I see how you smartly refuse to add the year join! |
elrony:Oshey... Man Utd gate-man! |
It was here I said Rojo will be one of UTD best defender and clamored for Mikhitaryan, una abuse me tire! Same here one idiot say Moyes will be sacked in December... well, to his credit, he didn't say if it was 2016, -17, -18 or -25. I just dey look am with one eye! By the way, I take back my reservations on Zlatan. He has done very much better than I expected. That said, i still maintain - Mourinho is past it, Pogba is still a fool and flat track bully... and UTD will not make it into the top four! |
eph12:He he he... we dey here na. No shaking! |
iheanyi40:I have been waiting for dis day since Moyes took the S'land job! |
Oasis007:Oshey... Deji Tinubu + Omotoyinbo multiplied by Larry Izamuje inside one body! With all the "world class" karate and dabbing masters wen "specialist in success" don sign, shebi na still the same position on the table with Moyes + Fellaini - world class team una dey drag!? |
Lana1:U... I just dey use one eye look u. Cough na, make I hear! |
