Oliviaarims: All I'm saying is that in as much as this one turned out well, it may not always be the case. I feel the forever dating thing is not a laudable feat in itself.
Just my opinion.
True, it is not laudable but sometimes in life, we do not have the luxury to chose the option which we desire or prefer... this couple may have also shared the same opinion as you do now.
Lana1: How i dey take console myself?? Oga chop ur 'L' like a man. My prediction still stands o. Moyes to be the first manager to be sacked this season.
Maybe you should take your own advice and bite your tongue. Who is Sunderland manager as at the time of you reading this my post!?
Oliviaarims: Hmm. I don't see why it should become a bragging right. Dating someone for a decade. When did they start dating...16? And in alol those ten years, the relationship must have suffered its own fair share of crisis, perhaps a number of break-ups and make-ups.
So, what would have happened if they had not decided to get married? After spending all those years together. No matter who else they end up with, the memories shared will never be erased. And that may not exactly be good.
I don't envy them, but I'm happy for them.
I don't see any bragging there... rather, I see a moral to their story. Like you rightly said, they would have faced many challenges and broken up and maybe even went on to date others many times; but in the end, they are back together. Does it mean that they are fools? Or they cannot find someone else? Or maybe, just maybe it has been ordained by the 'gods' that they are just meant to be... we can all deduce whatever we want from this!
dubylhover: Guy do you know who john stones is?have you watched him play?how can you say his first instinct is to shoot the ball out, thats the complete opposite, his first instinct is too always look for a pass, albeit it puts him in troubje at times, but pep bought him for his composure on d ball..give pep till the end of this season, you'd see a more developed defender
Diademk07: Did you watch Stone at Everton? Many people were questioning Pep decision to sign such an average defender for that huge fees but some defended the decision saying Pep only needed his ball playing skills at the back.
In February (2015), Roberto Martinez told the Liverpool Echo that he saw Stones as “one of the best ball-playing centre-halves you will see in European football."
Yes, I know John Stones very, very well... and yes, he has such "potential" or so is the popular claim; but is that how he always played in Everton and Barnsley? Do you regard Barnsley and Everton (even under Martinez) as a teams that put a lot of emphasis on their defenders "passing the ball out if the back" most of the time?
Diademk07: I thought that was his speciality since his defending is wack!
I disagree that his defending is wack. The mentality of the "average British" or even most EPL central defenders (Jagielka, Terry, Shawcross, Vidic, Cahill, Williams, Morgan, Huth etc) is to protect the goal-keeper at all costs; no fancy tricks, ball playing or footwork. Just get the ball far away from their danger area. This is what Stones is used to and very comfortable at.
Now you have a manager asking him to play differently, more subtly and confidently - make passes, retain possession, move around the field, advance upfield with the ball and even dribble if possible. Of course, the early stages, will be shaky but if he keeps at it, he will only get better. Then again, he may not and turn out to be the disaster you are predicting - but it takes a bit more time to arrive at this conclusion!
afrodoc2: But this was how Coogar convinced most people here to reduce all United's problems to a Rooney issue. There were other problems in view yesterday right from the fecal display of both Lingard and Mkhi to the pathetic display of the world's most expensive player. Then we saw a few cracks in our CB partnership. The only positions were we are very good and consistent are GK and FB.
To be frank, Rooney does pose a problem for managers and other players, selection and position-wise... for me personally, I cringe when I see Mikhi out on that flanks - from what I've seen in his Dortmund games, that is not his "best" or "most influential" position!
Diademk07: I'll give Sane a chance but not Stone.. No be today I don dey watch that guy.. British guys can be so overrated!
I'd give Stones all the chances possible. He is being asked to do something he has never been doing in all the years he has been playing football - which is, "don't just hoof the ball away, put it under control and try to pass. Sometimes even advance into midfield and play". You think it is an easy thing to start learning and applying now, especially in competitive games!? Anyway, the important thing is that his manager believes in him!
Still early days, but I am impressed with Zlatan. My major worry about him was that 'unseriousness' that sometimes accompanies his 'over-confidence'. He has shown a good, positive attitude on the field so far and it is heartwarming and I absolutely have no shame in eating my words if he continues this way.
Pogba, on the other hand, has just taken Welbeck's place as "my public enemy #1" - somebody should just go and shave that his hair first abeg
Diademk07: For all Stones ball plying skills, he could only managed 76% successful passing rate, while still looking clueless in defending. LOL! On the other hand, His partner Otamendi had 90% passing rate.
Pep don buy market!
I said it that Stones ball playing skills is a myth. No doubt he's got a good vision but the technique to constantly implement it is average.
There's also Sane who's bang average.. All pace without skills and little intelligence... LOL.
Maybe you should hold your horse and give these players a bit more time before announcing their obituary... na pesin like u for don throwey DDG when he started his first few games for United!
Greatihex: can you please tell this honourable house who is the defender that was removed when pablo zabaleta was brought in? Can you please interpret to us the meaning of the signs that pep made to his players when he flashed his five fingers and pointing with his five fingers? Who was playing as the false 9 and did he start the match playing as false 9?
capricornian: They were better than us Elampiro. Some of our players didn't perform enough which made them better than us today...No winner wins all battles hey.
All I see are lessons to be learnt and that will make us dangerous
SailorXY: reports said he was injured on internationals. I didn't even see the first half so I can't really say but Jose should have known better...
I don't buy the Rooney-must nonsense, never had never will. I said if LvG insisted on that he was going to get himself sacked & so it was. If Mourinho doesn't learn from it, well that's his beeswax. The club must move forward no matter the sacrifice.
WeWildin: Phew Ghost mode indefinitely, Zlatan was shockingly bad, I said it, we don't need bailly, Nigga cost us the first goal...Mickie was a disaster, I am still in disbelief.
On one hand FVCK MOURINHO, on the other hand, it was entertaining unlike The Philosopher.
Kolade354: Ahahahahahahahahahah £89.3m can't control the mildfield. Usesless team, dem dey beat hull bournemouth southamtpon dem dey make noise. Iyalaya yi,pep ti takeover
