My own problem with the awards is how RVP or that Irish woman's goal didn't win... they were by far better than James'... especially the woman! |
What impressed me most was the 'fight', the spirit they showed. They were certainly fired up. And that little award ceremony at the beginning, to me, was really just to 'appease' the little man and remind him how much FCB loves and appreciates him... in truth, that is all he seems to need! |
So are So'ton genuine contenders for UCL spots or not!? |
Nihilist:RuuDie is home o... feel free to jollificate. But no vex wen I come for return leg at your end o! |
Taking out RVP is a big, bad mistake... Na now LVG remember sey route-1 too na football abi... e dey pain me sha, but make I laff small first ![]() |

dmcdad:The article just serves to point out that these things (special treatment) aren't unusual and at times, clubs or managers can use it to their own benefit! You may need to understand that intentions differ... I believe Messi is CB "through 'n true"; and I feel rightly or wrongly, he may decide to wield his influence to the good of the club because he looks like that kind of person! If you even read the article, there is a section that suggested that most of the players actually side with Messi... I doubt if the likes of Xavi, Iniesta will be intimidated - they are more "son of the club" than he is and command as much respect as he does! All na still speculation anyway. |
Well, there is no need to drag... if you feel Messi is playing "dictator"; it is up to the club and her fans to act accordingly and put him down to earth! Personally, I do not believe all the media crap. If Messi wants to really hold FCB to ransom, it isn't very hard. He has a "brain-washed" fan-base (me included) almost half population of that of FCB itself (exaggeration sha) who will see absolutely nothing wrong in whatever he says or does. So he can as well publicly come out 'n drop some public statements that will divide and whip the entire Catalunya into a frenzy. For a player like Messi, I disregard any media report, rumor or whatever... from his body-language when he steps out on the pitch, you can tell where his heart is! My two cents!!! |
Leyqute:I'd stick with Carrick... for me, no need to waste time scouring the world for a "ball-playing" - Blind is it! Him and Rojo will make a formidable combo. Not quite close to Ferdi-Vidic, but between them there is the right mix of aggression-composition, youth-experience that will complement each other. On another note, 300M is even too cheap for the brand Messi. On the field, give me LM10 any day; I will deploy him to play a "free" role behind my striker(s) and watch how teams will get r4ped like no man's biz ![]() |
To be honest, I fear for De Gea! |
@ elampiro. If you like download the holy bible into a post... you are only making yourself look sillier every passing post! I don't need any stats to tell me that Rooney has the higher propensity to mis-control a football than Mata... if you are as smart as you claim, you will realise that I have not said that Rooney cannot control a ball! I don't need any stats to tell me that Rooney has the higher propensity to pass the ball to the wing rather thread 'an eye of a needle' pass - Mata is more likely to do it than him... if you are as smart as you claim, you will realise that I have not said that Rooney cannot attempt to or successfully make such a pass! If you have more epistles to write, carry on... me na 'Berbatov + Riquelme' combined ontop this thread. If you are as smart as you claim, you will catch my drift! |
leggo:For me, the difference is you don't put your foot through the ball when it is a 'touch' (first touch or flick). As the ball is coming, you sort of just position your foot so that the ball meets at an elevation and angle suitable for your intentions. Depending on your application, the ball strikes the leg and either stops dead or moves a short further away from you. When not done properly, you may find you have to stretch or run to retain the ball. What Mata did, was to cushion, support or bring that ball 'under control' into the path of Rooney - altering its speed, trajectory etc. he did not swipe at the ball but rather let the ball run to and strike his foot. You constantly hear the British commentators using the term "Tee"; as in for example, "Odunharry teed it up nicely for Leggo..." - it is originally a golf term. Look up what it means. |
elampiro:Thunder must surely fire you for making mockery of all the sweat of poor naija teachers have invested for so many years to make this your block-head useful to society. See the kain gibberish that comes out of your mouth sef, you no dey sorry for yourself ni!? |
elampiro:Do you have comprehension problem!? |
Look at dis one oh... Has Rooney made more contribution to UTD than Ryan Giggs!!!? Yet at age 40 some people here still literally mauled him whenever he was on the pitch! Has Rooney made more contribution to UTD than Darren Fletcher!!!? Yet even after months of lay-off due to injury, few people cut him any slack! My friend, as far as I am concerned, "I get am bifor no be property"... I go park your face for one side jor! |
elampiro:Correction... it wasn't Herrera and it wasn't a pass either. It was Mata and it was a 'perfectly cushioned' 'Berbatov-like' ball-control from Blackett's defensive clearance onto Rooney's foot. Abi you want to drag now that Rooney has 'Berbatov-like' ball-control!!? Wetin concern fatigue with ball-control? |
coogar:Exactly my point! When Rooney has 3-4 different options to pick, he mostly picks the wrong one (usually a pass out to the right-wing) especially when his partner in crime Anthonio Valencia is playing. Earlier in the game, there was a counter-attack on where he had two players bombing down centrally on his right and shaw on the left wing - if you were keenly watching that game, you'd know how that panned out! |
