That is your fellow communist backwater Tanzania where witchcraft is also very rampant. Just30: |
I wonder what would befit you? You guys have a lot of time on your hand. The hq of africa voodoism and witchcraft. No wonder your country look like a magician hovel. Just30: |
Passenger rails in middle of nowhere cannot generate revenues. You need to focus on Lagos. Federal gov need to really invest there. It could provide the non-oil revenues you really grave for. 68816419: |
Historically the most brutal. I think COVID-19 is a more plausible cause. We wait to see what will happen in North Korea republic of Tanzania. The real North Korea might escape because naturally they are in lockdown always. Austine1213: |
Wondering where Ghana has invested her thoughts and ingenuity - elaborate funerals.Vaxx died recently and was buried in this coffin - to epitomize her career as an international ashawo in Germany - Sadly the poor family couldn't afford the famous Ghanian dancing ball-bearers - and had to do with local dancers. The primitiveness in Ghana is on another level. They paid 76B dollars for a golden stool ![]()

South Africa saw 17K more deaths in last Q - one wonder how The republic of https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/africa/article/2001379829/south-africa-59-excess-deaths-imply-hidden-covid-19-toll |
Exactly. Rural South Africa, townships and the slums dominated by black south africans would put them at totem pole like Lesotho or Swaziland. Not much difference if you ask me btw KwaZulu Natal and Lesotho.

|
Shaytun:Hopefully Dangote will eliminate the dystopian zoo shame of being the only OPEC member to import petroleum. That should save Nigeria at least 6B dollars. |
It obvious they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Can't even get near Tanzania leave alone Kenya. popizaino: |
I guess thanks to COVID-19 funds from IMF and WB - Ghana can now hide behind the global recession. Just30: |
He is making lot of money in speaking gigs all over africa. In Kenya - he is washed up. He was given an opportunity to become our Anti-graft tsar and he failed. Long in speeches and short in action. He is therefore pampering Nigerians so he get more speaking gigs - including lecturing their parliament and president. mtisTheQubit: |
IMF your daddy again....says clearly that you have no forex reserve and have converted soverign wealth into forex reserves https://ghanafinancialmarket./2020/01/31/imf-disputes-bank-of-ghanas-us8-bln-gross-intl-reserves-figure/ he International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised concerns about the Bank of Ghana’s definition of the country’s gross international reserves, saying the inclusion of oil revenue makes the figure overvalued as it cannot be readily available to cushion the economy from external shocks. In the Bank of Ghana’s Statistical Bulletin report for the third quarter of 2019, the gross international reserves stood close to US$8billion and 3.8 months of import cover. However, in the IMF’s Article IV report, the projected reserves for end of 2019 will hit US$5.1billion with an import cover of 2.4 months – a difference of nearly US$3billion, and also falls short of the 3-months rule-of-thumb benchmark. And Ghanian proffesor agrees Commenting on this, Professor of finance at the University of Cape Coast-Prof. John Gatsi, said the position of the IMF is right, as the Petroleum Revenue Management Act (PRMA) does not allow oil revenue to be made readily available for use if there is an urgent need for forex. “The reason why capturing oil funds as part of international reserves for the purposes of demonstrating that your international reserves are capable of covering your imports over a period of time – an average of 3-months – is not acceptable for the IMF is that such money won’t be available for government if there is need to use the reserves to cater for immediate use. Learn to distinguish USABLE forex - from just any forex - like you Central Banker is desperate to do. IMF GHANA on Jan 2020. Import cover 2.5m. BoG - 3.5m (including soverign wealth - which cannot be 'cashed' out at will', Kenya macro-economics have always been solid. Kenya - latest - we are on 9.9B https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001377940/cbk-forex-reserves-up-to-11-month-high As of Friday last week, official foreign exchange reserves (forex) stood at $9,717 million (about Sh1 trillion), the highest since July 18, last year. This means the country has the firepower to comfortably import goods and services for close to six months. “The usable foreign exchange reserves remained adequate at $9,717 million (5.84 months of import cover) as at July 2," said Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) in a Weekly Bulletin. 40% of South Africa is rural. Typical RSA rural house (exclude the boers) is the African round house made of grass and mud. That is what you see from Limpopo to Kwazulu Natal to the entire Cape. jln115: |
Africans are just primitive. The clay is all over and all they need is to mold it - and turn into roof, walls and name it. Yes Rwanda rural is very beaituful - but sadly the art of making clay tiles is giving way to cheap iron sheet. Minxie:

Without dates - it useless. As of January 2020 - IMF - declared GHANA had 2.5m import cover. Kenya is on 6 months now. Don't fight facts. They are stubborn things. Just30: |
Compare South Africa rural and Rwanda Rural. South Africa, Lesotho, CAR, South Sudan and maybe Chad cluster together. 25M South African live in the Africa round house - and at least South sudanese or CAR own their land. Now imagine living in grass-thatched, mud-walled and floored house - and owning no land - no cattle - just surviving as worker in boer farm
|
Rwanda rural is incredibly beautiful. Sadly like you can see in the picture - terracota clay roof as giving in to iron-sheet - which will soon form the rust belt.
|
I am not IMF. Your forex reserve if we exclude the oil savings is not enough to meet the recommended 4 months of import cover. In Kenya we are doing 6 months - nearly 10B dollars. IMF says 2.5 months cover. Your central banker claims 3.5 months. Not enough. Just30: |
Rwanda rural - country of thousands hills - with well lined farms and terracota roofed houses - sadly some are now resorting to iron sheet having forgotten how to make clay tiles African has a lot of evolving to do.
|
It's easy to find statistics of grass thatched, mud-walled and floored rural houses in South Africa. In Rwanda - rural houses are like this. Yes there is poverty -but it's still is beautiful. Austine1213:
|
1) Roofing -It goes like this grass - iron sheet - tiles. You're in stage 1 in roofing. I am not talking a few resort like we have in kenya. I am talking rural development. 2) Walling - you're still in mud walls 3) Flooring - you're still in mud flours After we dispense with rural housing - we can talk about small-holder agricluture - not large scale boer farmer - and we can talk rural roads, water and electricity Austine1213: |
This is from your daddy the IMF Gross international reserves stood at 2.7 months of imports in 2018, lower than the three-month rule-of-thumb benchmark and the norm of 3.6 months estimated by the model for resource-rich LICs (Lower-Income Countries) with a flexible exchange rate.” IMF said this in its country report for the country. Figures in the report indicate that Ghana’s gross international reserves for 2019 were $5.1 billion, about 2.4 months of imports cover and forecasted to reduce to $5.01 billion in 2020 but increase slightly to $5.06 billion next year. This is equivalent to 2.3 months of import cover. Just30: |
In rural development - South Africa is next to South Sudan and Central African Republic - Lesotho. Yes Rwanda rural is something - the hills and the terracotta clay-tiled roof houses - is better than your grass thatched houses. You should visit. Kenya rural development is up there - definitely better than South Africa. Austine1213: |
Yes Rwanda rural is enchanting - and it's lined with clay tiled houses. Very beautiful. Austine1213:
|
Yes but they rot fast and catch fire. You can easily make clay tiles - using the dirt from your ground - and have more economically, more cooler and name it roofer. If you visit Rwanda - you'll see clay tiled houses - sadly they are giving in to iron sheet. Rural rwanda is just beautiful - with rolling hills. Minxie:

You won't be having balance of payments issues if you had good handle on trade. Your forex reserves are not even 5B dollars. I saw you included soverign funds in the forex reserve because without it - you have 1.5Month of import cover.Don't talk about manufacturing - you are still in stage 1 - import substitution.
