I think I need to run a scan on my car, as myself and my mechanic Av cleaned and changed the Idle air control valve sensor. I clean the Unit myself with TINA and petrol.

We cleaned the Air flowmeters too.

Yet the symptoms reduces but its still there.

When my mechanic drives the car I don't observe the Jerk in traffic reason been that he is rough wt driving so he smash the brake once and there wouldn't be any vibration or Jerk but if I smash the brake gently it tends to Ram down from 1 RPM to zero but later picks up without actually stoping.

2 things he proposed.

1. He said my car is OK that innitially the engine system works with the RPM above 1 which is true and I don't observe the Jerk them but it really consume fuel. So wen we reduce the slow run to exactly 1 RPM 2 days later the issue begin. He propose to increase the slow running and I reject immediately.

2. He said we should replace the fuel filter, pump, change the Idle control valve sensor.

I don't wanna beleieve increasing the slow running wil rectify the issue.

I bought my first car on NL.

The seller claims its a buy and drive and the truth is I bought and drive from Ilorin to Ibadan. Battery pack up in ibadan. Bought a new battery and drive to Lagos. It was in Lagos that the gear refused to change properly.
It was in Lagos that the suspension and seats becomes issues.

It was in Lagos that the power steering packed up. The Lagos am saying was Ojota oooo. Not my house. My friend towed the car home from egbeda wen I discovered I can't cope to drive the Man-Diesel home with strong steering wheel.

He knows himself and he is probably rating this thread .

My advice is 95% of buy and drive on NL is a scam. My Kazeem said it is only when a car starts to develop a fault that the owner remembers he wants to upgrade.

Abeg what diagnostics tool kazeem use to check if all these stuff are bad ?

No diagnostic tool ooo. I called him this morning and he said those stuffs we changed during my last service where bad!

Could be a dirty idle control valve?

Please whats actually the control Valve, could it have been the Air Manifold, or the sensor area where the slow running is always adjusted.Please Sir help me share a photo of the control valve at ur leisure sir and I will really appreciate it sir.

Other possible causes are dirty throttle body and fully closed throttle butterfly.
A bad TPS or badly adjusted TPS is also a suspect.
When cleaning the IAC, tell the kazeem or yourself not to twist or pull the pintle.
Just spray a throttle body cleaner to wash it off.

Please whats a TPS and IAC, Kindly help me share pics at ur leisure sir.

When i called my Mechanic this morning, he has already started listing the followings for changed and i recently changed them without issues, I just decided to change as part of normal servicing on the 28th of October, Now he is listing it again.
He said am changing:-
1. Fuel Pump
2. Fuel filter
3. All my 4 plugs, and all this stuffs are newly bought by the same Kazeem.

Plz I need an advice on what I need to watch out for before this mechanics kill me wt buying and buying(Try and error theories).

My 99 Camry works well, transmission changes smoothly but immediately I encounter traffic on my way. As I match the brake gently I discover that the RPM which is always on 1 or below tends to move to 0(zero) which results to the engine gerking like it wanted to stop but rather it would pick up again and work smooth. At times in d traffic it may happen once and it wouldn't happen again inside same slow movement.

I have checked the engine seats all are fine and intact.

Please advice!

Almost all the Used cars tagged buy and drive no issue on NL had some hidden fault which the seller will tell u later that u actually bought a Used car and not a Tokunbo. Bros anywhere u dey, kindly enter a Dealers shop, Point and Kill the ride of ur choice.

But if u are actually interested in the Used One, go wt ur trusted Kazeem Mecho, mind U. Be careful of ur choice of mechanic oooo. The one that inspected my uncles car knew it had a bad suspension and rust body, he never said it out and what I guess was he was expecting him to always bring the ride to him so he can continue chopping his money.but my uncle changed it for him and he regret his actions.

Shine ur eye well well bro!. There is only 5% Buy and drive Used cars on this forum others u Av to really spend to maintain them. The one I bought, I went to Ilorin to pick it. And today am enjoying but its not a Buy and drive as the seller claim. Its a Buy, Repair and drive.
