Kaizer86: So this recent development has a few cadets and aso worried.... Because it has already been a very long wait.. so why call up one cader and leave the rest... The exact question I asked... The genuine answer I got from my source was that if I remember 2016 when cadets and aso left for training, they didn't recruite for detectives... That's why the have been prioritized to move first... I still pressed after this long wait why not call all de caders at once it has been a very long long wait... Reason is the format of a had eaten recruitment money and the agency has to cut cost, the detectives are very lucky it's exactly 90 days to elections.. so they will spend 3months in camp.. and head off for i.t.. yes elections inclusive... Lucky them right.. so what's the plight of other caders ?? The remaining two caders are expensive to train and allowances will burden the agency.. at this point in time it's unknown if thier recruitment will be upheld even... Omo e don enter prayer and fasting oooo.. if they are not able to source out funds before December 15th..that page is closed... This was my convo wit a very top official.. meaning they will keep d retired men on wit contracts till de next recruitment in 2020. Except the presidency mks funds available the remaining caders wil be scrapped till d next batch of recruitement. Boss, ur info Dis tym is scary ooo |

Jfkanweyest: Let me just chip this in. There was a compulsory cadre course that was implemented this year in the service. A training compulsory for all personnels of the service regardless if you are going for promotion or not this year and they've been going in batches. So i guess that has been the major cause of the delay cause the courses are taking place in the training schools and the personnels are a lot. And we may mistake them for promotion exams but it's actually the course most of them have been going for. The recruitment is still fully on ground but no one knows when the call will come. I'd advise you be prepared always. Another moral boost info! Kaizer86 I sight u ooo |

Kaizer86: Seiyefa and Daura Despite pressure from some forces, including members of his kitchen cabinet, President Muhammadu Buhari has foreclosed the reinstatement of sacked Department of State Services (DSS) Director-General Lawal Daura, The Nation has learnt.
Some of the lobbyists, it was learnt, trailed the President to London to mount pressure for the reversal of Daura’s sack. He was relieved of his duties by then Acting President Yemi Osinbajo
Those against the ex-security chief’s return argued that his sack saved the nation’s democracy and boosted the Buhari administration’s democratic credentials.
The battle has since shifted to the Presidency, over the search for a new Director-General.
Some favour the retention of the office in the North. Many want acting DG Mathew Seiyefa to be confirmed to prove a point that the President has a national outlook.
The argument for Seiyefa is borne out of his having less than one year to retire. He has spent 34 years in service.
A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “The forces pushing for Daura’s reinstatement have lost the battle because the President has foreclosed his return.
“The President has no plans to bring back Daura under any guise. He believes this administration is one and will not overrule his deputy. He is a man of discipline and not an ethnic bigot.
“What happened is that some ministers, a few kitchen cabinet members and influential people close to the President sneaked into London to meet with Buhari to overturn Daura’s sack.
“They alleged that Prof. Yemi Osinbajo sacked Daura before informing the President who was on vacation, said the source, who added:
“They were not aware that the President and the Vice President had discussed the fate of Daura and some security chiefs at least two weeks before the President proceeded on vacation in London. The two leaders had agreed on the need to effect a few changes.
“Osinbajo acted in line with the template set by his boss and acted appropriately.”
It was leaent that while in London, “a former Head of State and a minister in the kitchen cabinet advised the President to ignore these influential forces pushing for Daura’s return in view of the democratic mileage the administration scored with his removal after the unauthprised invasion of the National Assembly by hooded DSS operatives.
“The ex-Head of State warned on the diplomatic and international implications of reinstating Daura. The Minister also minced no words in confronting those who wanted the ex-DG back in office.”
A source in government also gave insights into Daura’s removal.
The source said “while it is true that the Vice President sacked Daura before informing the President, it was in line with the earlier decision by the two leaders to tinker with the security apparatchik.
“There was a template which the President would have worked on after the vacation which Osinbajo implemented. Osinbajo informed the President of the action he took and the President endorsed it because the Presidency is one.”
“So, when Daura acted against democratic norms, he was invited to the Presidential Villa by the Acting President. While seated in a part of Osinbajo’s office, waiting to see the VP, his removal.
“He was then escorted out of the back exit of the VP’s wing to a safe house for debriefing. There were no altercations in any manner between the VP and Daura.”
On the sucession matter, a security source said: “It is either the retention of Seiyefa or appointment of a new person as the substantive DG. For Seiyefa, who has less than a year left in service, this is the second time, he will be closer to clinching the job.”
Seiyefa In 2010, he lost to former DG Ita Ekpenyong, who was said to have been preferred by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Some “forces” are said to be pushing for a northern candidate to succeed Daura, but others in the kitchen cabinet have made a strong case for Seiyefa to prove a point that Buhari has a national character contrary to the accusation by some politicians that he is an ethnic bigot.
“ Seiyefa and three other Deputy Directors-General in the DSS are eminently qualified for the job. But Seiyefa is the most senior and for a service where hierarchy matters, he is first among equals,” the source said, noting however that “if Buhari goes out of the service to pick a new DG, it might lead to his exit and that of other three Deputy Directors-General”. Kaizer86: Abuja The Nation also gathered that Buhari will determine the fate of the former Director-General of the Department of State Security Service, Mr. Lawal Daura, who was removed from office on August 7.
Cabinet and kitchen cabinet members of the President are said to be holding divergent views on the sack.
Daura has been in protective custody since he was relieved of his appointment.
Apart from the report by Police Inspector-General Ibrahim Kpotun Idris which was submitted to Osinbajo, other findings against Daura remained confidential last night.
Although the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina had said the presidency was one on the action taken against Daura, it was learnt that the sack was trailed by some intra-cabinet rumblings.
Sources said that the president will, in the next few days, decide on the followings:
* Consider the IGP report and classified findings on Daura
* Determine whether Daura should be released immediately from safe custody unconditionally; with conditions; or should face trial for any infractions allegedly committed on August 7
*Likely reinstatement of Daura or redeployment to any agency in the light of the findings by all the agencies, especially a declaration by the DSS that no cash was found in his home.
*Possible restructuring/ overhauling of DSS and appointment of a substantive DG for the service including retirement of some top directors.
A well placed source said: “Daura is still in a safe house where he was debriefed by the police and other agencies. But it is only the President who can determine his fate.
“Now that the President is back, he has to consider all reports and findings on the former DG of DSS and take appropriate decisions.”
Continuing, the source said: “the President needs to give approval for either the release of the former DSS boss or his trial for any infractions spotted.
“Some forces are also pushing for the reinstatement of Daura or his redeployment to another agency. It is always difficult for any government to reverse itself on any issue, even if there are glaring errors, but the final say lies with the President.
“Don’t forget that the Acting President assured the nation that all those involved in the August invasion of the National Assembly will be punished.
“There might be some restructuring/ overhauling of DSS and appointment of a new substantive DG. Some directors might also be retired to pave the way for a new DG.
“It is too early to say whether or not the acting DG of DSS, Mr. Mathew Seiyefa from Bayelsa State will be confirmed.
“Seiyefa missed a similar opportunity to be the DG of DSS in 2010 during the tenure of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. He lost out to ex-DG Ita Ekpenyong.
“This post is always determined by competence and loyalty in view of the sensitive nature of the office.” Tnx 4 d update. Hope to get call soon |
